I live in CT, and at least in this area the VPP plan is not offered on the 2007 G35. I'm not sure if it is different in any other state, but here it is not offered, at least right now. The problem for dealers is that when you tell a customer this, why shouldn't they shop another make or model? The customers who come to us with a VPP number will recieve a significant discount, simply to earn your business. The best deal I have seen is $200 over invoice, that isn't the standard price we are quoting, it's different with every customer. We appreciate the loyalty of Infiniti customers, and thank you to everyone for keeping us in business!

Not in the Chicago market. The most I could get on an 07 G35x with prem/tech/navi was $1000 off. Half the dealers who I asked to beat this told me to take the offer; they wouldn't come down. The others said they'd order one for March but wouldn't sell an existing one at that price.

What makes the market so different on the East Coast to be giving away your margin on a high demand/ low supply car like this?
  • daveyd088daveyd088 Member Posts: 9
It's interesting since it seems like there are about the same amount of dealers in your area as mine. Maybe the market is more competitive due to volume? I would be lying if I said every customer paid $500 over invoice, we have sold plenty of these cars at sticker. At least with our interent customers, they are only interested in price and the best one wins. Splitting the profit on the car is usually a good deal. A few hundred over is rare, but I've seen it happen a few times.

Just wondering what people are paying in the NW for the G35 Sedan? I am looking for premium with nav and dealers are just not willing to budge. I got the dealer in OR to agree to $500 off MSRP but I'm not sure how much more he is willing to go. I've read on this forum that some people are getting around $1000 above invoice in areas like the eastcoast or southern CA. I live in Seattle so getting a car from over there is not feasible nor is trying to show a dealer here a quote from a NY dealer.

hello, it is just tip for when you buy a new car or leasing.
if you are the costco member, go to costco.com and go into cost auto program. you can get car for $500 over the invoice!!!
  • chadwchadw Member Posts: 4
Is that something people have gotten on the new G sedan?
  • chadwchadw Member Posts: 4
My local Costco affiliated dealer just said:
"Unfortunately there is no program currently for the 2007 G35 sedans through Costco."

Are others getting Costco deals? Can they really not offer a deal with Costco even if they are a Costco affiliated dealer?

They are over charging you for the doc fees and possibly for registration too. I am in LA, and the doc fees here were only 45 dollars and registration was like 380. The residual and money factors look right. I'd try to get the doc fee and residual down and I wouldn't have them added to cap cost because then you are paying finance charges on it as well. I'd try to get them into the initial payment and lose the cap cost reduction...if anything you should pay addl. security deposits instead of a straight cap reduction. It won't show up as much in the monthly payment, but at the end of the lease you can get the security deposit back. You should be able to get a slightly lower monthly payment and only put out about 1500 in initial drive off.

I've been searching for a 2007 G35 Sport 6mt for several weeks now and finally found exactly what I was looking for. Black on black with premium. I received a quote today from a local dealership for $1500 over invoice for a car that is $32388 invoice ($1412 under msrp). What do you all think?
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
Sounds OK if no trade is involved.
  • irvsteroniirvsteroni Member Posts: 56
Heeding the advise here in this forum, I concentrated in negotiating OTD price. I had 04 base G35 coupe w/27.2k miles to trade in with 20.5k payoff to my credit union. I negotiated an OTD of $34,500.00 for a sport, premium package, blue slate/graphite. KBB had a much higher trade-in value than did Edmunds.com so I figured that into my negotiating to hit the KBB figure of $3k over my payoff. From the final papers, I was given $2,200.00 on the tradein, and $2k off MSRP. $34.5k OTD I think was a good deal with the trade-in and feel I didn't get screwed (although I could have sold the coupe on the street and gotten more, I just didn't want the hassle and waiting).
Just drove it from Ga. to La. and drives beautifully. I still feel the coupe handled better, but the acceleration feels about the same if not a bit better (could be just the way the coupe sounds vs. the sedan). The base coupe certainly didn't have that "luxurious" feel but the 07 sedan certainly does.
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
The price you paid is totaly meaningless because a trade was involved..however you felt good about the deal and you are happy and that is what matters.

    Hi,
I am shopping around for the same configuration... Can you tell me where you got this deal?

    Thanks
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
"I was given $2,200.00 on the tradein"

What is your number? 22K or 20.2K? :confuse:

I am not familiar with the VPP plan and prob wouldn't qualify, but I got almost the exact same deal numbers wise. Mine was 2007 G35 Journey Premium, Nav, Performance Tire (love the graphite interior). In the Atlanta metro area.

Don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but roughly:
    9 security deposits
    36mths / 15k miles
    About $1080 at signing -- doc/dealer fee & 1st payment
    About $509/month total
The monthly includes the base pre-paid maintenance plan & the excess wear & tear insurance plan. Without the two add ons, it would have been about $480/month.

I wanted the base pre-paid maintenance plan and excess wear & tear plan to minimize hassle. This is the area I did near zero research on, so not sure if it is a wash money wise or if they got a few bucks off of me. But, for me, if it saves a few hours and hassle down the road, it was worth it. Anyone done the numbers on these two Infiniti products?
  • irvsteroniirvsteroni Member Posts: 56
Payoff was $20,500.00 on my 04 base G35 coupe and I negotiated $ 22,700.00 on my tradein (+$2,200.00), somewhat of a median between what edmunds.com and kbb.com said my tradein should be. I felt that was fair.
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
    22.7K for a base '04? that's a nice trade in.

the dealer here in PA wants to give me only 22K on a G coupe '05 w/ premium package b/c I have a minor accident w/ a deer (24K w/o accident).
  • martinvalleymartinvalley Member Posts: 2
Went shopping today for a 2007. Offered a 2006 for $4500.00 less with same options. 28.5K vs. 33K. no trade ins involved- straight purchase. Will I be able to do better on 2007?

I am negotiating with dealer for 2007 G35 Journey and was told that they got word a couple of weeks ago that Journey's cannot be ordered without the Performance Tire and Wheel Package and all cars delivered after first of year will be delivered with the Performance Tire and Wheel Package. Has anyone else heard this from a dealer?
  • theshawntheshawn Member Posts: 30
Anyone purchased an 07 with the Costco program? Did it offer good saving?
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
No one can tell you w/ this little info (model, all the options...tec.)
  • bostonboybostonboy Member Posts: 3
    Great deal. take it!
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
You cant have the same options between a 2006 and 2007.
  • phairphairphairphair Member Posts: 39
The 07 is a completely different car: 80% new. You can't compare the two.

The 07 has a 306hp 3.5L engine and is faster than the BMW 330i.

The interior is significantly upgraded. As well as the performance and handling of the car.

Have you driven both? Make sure you do so before you decide.

I live in OC, CA and am looking to buy 07 G35 Journey. Does anybody know if they are still selling this car for MSRP in LA/OC area? Thanks in advance.
  • malumakanmalumakan Member Posts: 16
what would you think is the best price for the 2007 g35X with all the options and the wood trim package. i was offered that car for 39000 and the msrp is 40500. is this a good deal or not. None of the dealership around my area has this car in stock. they still not sure when they will be getting the shipment in by.
  • malumakanmalumakan Member Posts: 16
so how much did you ended up paying for that car? i am looking to purchase the same exact one.
  • joetyjoety Member Posts: 9
Yes, that's nearly identical to the deal I got on my car, which was setup like this sans tech package, so the final was $38K vs. $39.4K sticker. The tech pack is a little over a grand, which gets you the steerable headlights, backup camera and laser controller cruise.
  • malumakanmalumakan Member Posts: 16
check with local banks to see what is the best rate they could get you. 6% is a good deal right now. may be you could increase your downpayment to help you lower you monthly payment.
  • wicarbuyerwicarbuyer Member Posts: 5
    Hello,
I am looking for something very similar... where did you end up negotiating this deal..?

    thanks
  • wicarbuyerwicarbuyer Member Posts: 5
    Hello,

I went to my local dealer in OC this afternoon and asked about the Coctco deal and they said it's $500 off from MSRP (they showed me the "official" sheet that printed all the costco deals for the infiniti cars). For LA/OC area, that might be the biggest saving for this car, I think. For other areas, I thought someone said in this forum that he was getting $1000-$1500 off from MSRP, even without the costo deal.

Asingh80, looking at your post, #3603, I believe the sales tax in new jersey is now 7%.

First let me start by thanking everyone who has posted to this site. I have been searching for a G35 for the past year and through numerous forums decided to wait on the 2007 model. From a pricing standpoint, I started by finding a dealer in NC that offered me the Costco Price (which was $750 below MSRP and no Doc Fee)...so roughly $1,250 below MSRP. I took that into another dealer here in NC and was able to negotiate a 2007 G35 Journey for INVOICE. I purchased the following:

    G35 Journey - Platinum Graphite
    - Premium Package
    - Navigation Package
    - Tire and Wheel Package
    - Cargo Net
    (Invoice $34,260 and MSRP $37,500)

    Car $34,260 +
    Tax $1,028 +
    Doc Fee $599 +
    Tag/Title $125
    OTD for $36,012

I called a number of other dealers in NC/SC/GA today and it sounds like the best offer going out there is roughly $1,000 over invoice, but the dealer I worked with today has a lot of inventory they are trying to move by year-end so I doubt deals like this will be on the table for long. Hope this helps!

I received a letter from Infiniti of Manhattan which says "Due to current market conditions we urgently need late-model Infiniti vehicles like yours, and we are very interested in buying back your Infiniti right now. If you have a leased Infiniti, we are prepared to offer you immediate termination of your lease without penalty." It then states, "YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PURCHASE OR LEASE A NEW INFINITI FROM US to take advantage of this offer."

Does this sound like a legitimate offer or is there a catch somewhere? I currently lease an Infiniti I35.

    Rkz,

I'm also in NC (Charlotte), and will be purchasing a G in the next 2 weeks. Can you let me know which dealer you dealt with. I have 2 dealerships local to me (Infiniti of Charlotte & Lake Norman Infiniti).

I'm looking for either a Journey or Sport with Premium, Nav & Tech packages. I'm hoping for $1,000-$1,500 off MSRP.
  • rkzrkz Member Posts: 3
blerner2...just got back from the dealer as I had to go back in to have my wife added to the title. Spoke with the guy I worked with and he welcomed my posting the dealership name, but noted that my deal wasn't a typical deal (and I honestly believe him). He shared with me that he purchased his G35 (as an employee) at roughly $1,000 over invoice a month ago. It was Lake Norman Infiniti. Great buying experience and found all folks that I worked with very honest and to the point. Great deals won't be there long, but they have a lot of inventory and are looking to move cars. Best of luck.

Sorry it took me so long to reply.........hope you get to read this by year end. Infiniti of Willow Grove PA is having a year end special...any Infiniti G35x for $200 over invoice (tech and nav packages $800 over). You can go to their website and print it and show it to a dealer in the same 'region' and see if they will match it. I bought mine at Holman of Maple Shade, NJ. They matched it and I live right near there.

see my message from earlier today.
  • blerner2blerner2 Member Posts: 47
    Rkz,

Thanks for the quick reply. I plan on contacting Lake Norman Infiniti in the next 1-2 weeks to discuss availablity/prices.

Would it be possible to provide the name of your contact at the dealership? I realize that I may not get as good of a deal as you/he did, but it sounds like he was an honest fellow, and I'd like to deal directly with him for my deal.

Very nice deal you brokered! The best I was able to do here in Florida was $1500 over invoice including dealer fees and clear bra. They did give me a good deal on my trade, so the tax reduction and price over carmax was about another 1000 off.

I was looking for a fairly rare combination down here - 07 6MT with Nav/Prem. According to four different dealers, there were only three cars in the state with my desired configuration. Out of those three, only one was in a color that was acceptable to me. Talk about lack of bargaining room. :D

For what it is worth, the Costco program here in Florida is $1750 over invoice plus dealer fees. For the car I was looking at, that puts it around 1000 off of MSRP.

Saw an ad on paper for a 06 G35 with Premium Package C, mud guards, and trunk mat for $28,995. The MSRP was $35800, and the dealer was passing the $2500 factory to dealer cash plus discounts. Is this a good deal? I went in and obviously saw that the 07s are nicer, but price wise, 06 seemed pretty good. Another thing is they agreed to give me the KBB price for "excellent" on my trade, so I am thinking I don't have much negotiating room from the 28995 sales price of the car. This is in Chicago, so if anyone care to chime in, I can hopefully purchase a new car by the end of the week. Thanks.

Good deal for you... no trade involved right?

Correct...no trade involved. Selling the old Audi on my own.
