I am being offered a Base MDX for 39.5K + TTL from one dealer and another matched this price. Is this a good price for this time of year and area ? :confuse:
Thanks,
walls
I am considering the above model, in near perfect condition with 49,000 miles. The dealer asking price is 20,988. I tried to negotiate but he would only come down to 20,488 and he let me walk out the door at that price. It also has running boards and body side moldings. It seems like a decent price compared to other CPO vehicles listed on cars.com but I'd like to hear other opinions. KBB lists the CPO retail price at 24,390 but edmunds TMV is about 1,000 less than that. He said it's rare to get a 2005 with such low miles and in such pristine condition. He is confident that he can sell it at full price so 500 dollars is all he would take off. Does this seem like a good deal??
(1) Does the base price above (38.9-39.6) include the $860 destination fee?
(2) The "TTL" seems to add quite a bit --- an average of as much as 10-11% --- do I have that right?
This is a great forum! Thanks in advance for the help!
Could you share the name of the dealership?
Thanks
That was his first offer;
what do you guys think?
Thanks in advance for your time.
(1) Yes. My price did include destination.
(2) That depends on where you live and the sales tax in your area. Sales tax can range from 0% to ~10% of the sale price. Also look out for the dealer's doc fee. In some states the fee is capped to a max. In some others, it is not and can go up to $400-$500. No point getting a seemingly low sale price if you are shafted with high documentation fees.
I am hoping the end of the year would knock out a few more off the price
Could you please pm me the sales director's name at Goodson's Acura who gave you the price. Thanks
That is a great deal, can you please share the dealership and saleperson's name?
Thanks
But I still think that I can do better than this.
One more question, the price you paid includes dest fee?
what was the Out the door price for you?
TIA
2011 MDX+tech from an upstate NY dealer.
I see that people here were able to get MDX+tech/ent pkg for that price.
MDX's must be selling like hotcakes thesedays..
Invoice : $42576
Dest : $860
Discount: $659
Taxes (6%): $2566.62
Tag/Title : $258
Doc fee : $95
I have asked all the dealerships in this area and this is the best I could get (Chevy Chase acura was the same price).
WBR99, who did you work with at Rosenthal Acura?
I am in contact with Amin and he asked me the name of my "acquaintance" that referred me to him. Are you willing to send me your name so I can let him know?
Thanks,
rsmitty
I paid $42,986 for the car, which was a little bit higher than the lowest quote I received of $42,418 which was from Acura of Serramonte, but I went for it because they gave me what I wanted for my trade-in.
One thing that frustrated me was I couldn't get them to throw in any accessories which cyaja1 said they did for him/her. When I tried to negotiate down the price of accessories they basically told me to walk away.
Ended up paying about $500 additional for wheel locks, cargo cover, tri-fold cargo tray and all season mats.
Would you mind telling me which sales person you dealt with at concord?
Thanks!
Regards,
Sri
The above items are part of the "Protection Package 1" as per Acura's website and the MSRP for the same is $386.
That is still $400 over factory invoice. What do you guys think?
IE; MSRP, Dest, tax, title trans-doc fees etc.
Did you have a trade & if so what & what value on your trade did they apply on your purchase? What accessories were inc?
Thanks much
I was dealing with Feder's Acura in Middletown.
And although I will have a trade-in, should I decide to pull the trigger, I didn't tell the dealer about that.
Car came out at $43,055. No hassle at all, was the quote I got in the e-mail. Actually when I e-mailed back I asked to confirm that destination was included in that price. The salesman said it was not, but he would ask his sales manager to see if he could knock it off for me. A couple hours later get a call from him to confirm the destination has been dropped, so the car will cost $43,055. Sticker is $49,015 w/destination, so feeling good about getting $6k off. OTD is $44,900 (3% tax, processing, title, tags, etc).
Then I mention the color combo I want is not on his lot. He calls around, finds me the right car and is going to have it trucked over at no extra cost right after Christmas. I'm fine with ordering and waiting, but if we can take it earlier that works too. I'm going in tomorrow to try and work a deal on my trade. Was going to sell it myself, but was informed they are running some sort of 125% of book value trade-in deal through year-end. If I can get a sweet number that would just be icing on the cake for this.
Wanted to share my experience as this forum has been very helpful to me. Hands down the easiest car buying experience I have had. Before looking in VA best deal I had negotiated was flat on invoice at $45k (destination included). Pumped to be getting OTD for less than that.
Did you get a better price.
