the BEST time is Dec 31. I bought my last two cars on this day and received very good deals.
  • jmondo123jmondo123 Member Posts: 1
Was offered lease 15K miles/yr, no money down, 36 months, 525/month, plus taxes and fees, in NJ, so final is around 550/month, plus offered to extend the warranty to 48K miles

My wife was quoted this and she didn't get the cost of the car.

    Is this a good deal?

Also anyone know the MF and the Residual precentage.

    Thanks!

I am looking to purchase a 2011 MDX with the Tech package in MA. Close by dealers include Acura of Boston, Herb Connolly Acura, Prime Acura and Acura of Peabody. MSRP with destination is $47,115. The internet/e-mail prices range from $43,280 to $43,577. I have not gone in for face-to-face haggling but I may get a bite on a $42,900 phone offer.

Any comments or suggestions? I want to do something this week. No trade-in or much of an interest in options. Color is black and all dealers seem to have stock.

    Hi June30 -

Is $43,500 the quoted price or OTD price for your 2011 MDX Tech? which dealer did you use? would you remcomend it?

    thanks

I am in Seattle as well and looked for a solid couple weeks stuck on the $42,5k price folks were paying in SoCal for the MDX with Tech. I finally gave up and bought from Lynwood for $44,5k with NW package (which I think they all throw in - so not really a give on their part). I bought the Metallic Grey with Ebony interior. Not suggesting I got a great deal, but the process was smooth - spent about 5-10 minutes with the finance guy and was out of there. I called dealers in and around Seattle as well as Oregon - they all said I would not get the SoCal price in the "NW". It is a great car though.

    Hi All,

I'm now in the market for a 2010 (or 2011) MDX Advance in NJ. I'm curious to see what out the door costs folks have shelled out for this vehicle.

Would be great if folks reply to this thread with:
Year, State, OTD Cost, Dealer, and Month of purchase

This type of info would be an incredibly powerful negotiating tool

    Thanks

For those interested, I got Acura of Boston down to $42,100 on 2011 MDX with tech package. There is an additional $295 "doc fees," but all the dealers in the area seem to have that. The $42,100 includes destination charge. Taxes and registration are extra.

    Hope that is helpful!
  • khiyalkhiyal Member Posts: 2
Is that Bernardi Acura of Boston? If so, have you already made the purchase. I plan on calling them today to see if I can get a price match.
  • buyerinmabuyerinma Member Posts: 3
Yes and yes. Please let us know what happens. I am curious if I got a good deal.
  • khiyalkhiyal Member Posts: 2
I called them, and the person whom I talked to said that he will check with the manager. He called me back after 15 minutes and said that they have not sold any MDX for a price this low. Can you pls. send me an email at khiyal at g mail . com with the sales person's name and other details (actual price paid etc) From what I read from your email, you paid ($42100 + $295 + tax + ~200 for registration) and nothing more, right?

too high .. must be around 42,000 to 42,300

I'm in CO looking to get an MDX with Advance package.

My understanding is that the dealer cost (invoice - 2% holdback) on this car is $46,760. So if I am calculating correctly, an offer that yields the dealer a 3% profit would be $49,023, which is the dealer's cost + 3% + dest charge of $860.

Of course, my OTD cost would include taxes/registration, but as far as I can tell any other additional fees are just add-ons to the dealer's profit, right?

Am I being too hardball here, or missing anything? So far the offers I've gotten have been closer to $51,200 (pre taxes/registration), so I want to make sure I'm not being too crazy in thinking about it this way.

    Thanks!

We're in Indiana and have been quoted 45.2k for a 2011 w/tech and entertainment. MSRP is 49. Anybody in the midwest getting better pricing than this? It looks like dealer cost on this is 43.8k so they'd be making about 3 percent. Thoughts welcomed. Thanks

I have an initial quote for a 'new' 2010 (4K miles but not been registered), black/black. MSRP 53,065 less 7,000 'discount' plus 2,431 (remote start, roof rack, autobahn 3M bra, side moldings) for a net total of 48,496. Invoice 50,087 (before accessories). Does not include tax or 349 admin fee. Thoughts?

I am also in Indiana and am either going to go with the MDX (leaning this way) or X5, and have been told by several people to go to Chicago to buy because there's no competition in the immediate area for Acura or Infiniti or BMW so there's no good deals. If I can get the time, I will try to pull this off within the next couple weeks and give you an update.

hi was wondering which dealer you got quote for $48,000. I also live in southern california...i got quote tustin acura 51,000$ after 2000$ off costco member. You have a good deal then...

I bought my 2010 Adv+Ent a month ago, with 2k miles on it for 44.5k before TTL. It has running boards and roof rack. Paid $1000 more for 7-year/100k warranty.

I think there is 2k of room to negotiate if you compare to my purchase.
  • matth2matth2 Member Posts: 12
Well for 51,500 i got the adv w/ent, all weather mats, trifold mat, black rails and cross bars. So i say that price is very high. look at truecar.com under details for the price the dealer pays (or close to it). That is where you start negotiating.
  • flyfisher9flyfisher9 Member Posts: 3
Did that 51.5 include everything (e.g., dest fee)? So all that is left for you to pay is TTL?

    Thanks!

I was stuck between two deals, both cash. One a Tech/Ent which had a MSRP for $49,375 and an Advanced with Ent/Tech and trim, tow, running boards...MSRP $56,495. My best deals on the Advanced were $49,700 and the Tech/Ent (including all-season mats, cargo cover, tow-package, wheel locks, roof rails) for $47,045. I am not too worried if i could have save a bit more, love the MDX!. Black w/taupe.

Question, has anyone tinted their front windows from Acura? How did they come out?
  • vincentbayuvincentbayu Member Posts: 13
It sounds like just an ok price, not great. Others had indicated that Tech/Ent can be had at $45k without much haggling. The tow package, pro package 2 and roof rack package cost > $1500 total on Acura website.

    Congrats on your new car.

Question, has anyone tinted their front windows from Acura? How did they come out?

Almost every dealer has a contractor that comes to the dealership to tint windows.. A local tint shop, most likely...

The quality will depend on the materials and expertise of that individual.

Were told today that roof rails - just side rails not the cross bars - are $495 installed - implying $200+ for installation on top of the list price for the rails. Are these accessories prices often negotiated - can anyone tell us what a fair rate for this option would be? Thanks.

I being quoted $47,400 for MDX 2011 with Tech and Entertainment Package along with advanced running board, all weather mats and Roof rails. is it good deal?
  • cbarry1cbarry1 Member Posts: 10
    ctmdx,
That seems a little high. The price of those accessories should be around $1,200 (hondacuraplanet.com). Labor maybe adds a couple hundred- say $300 tops. So, subtracting $1,500 from $47,400 gives you a price of $45,900 for the MDX with Tech/Entertainment. I think you can probably get the total down at least another $1,000 from there. I got the '11 Tech/Entertainment in December in NC for $44,600 plus tax/tags. Good luck!

    Hi,
This is a certified pre owned 2010 MDX base available for 41K.
It has less than 50 miles on it and a clean carfax etc.
    Is this a good price?
    Help/suggestion/advice appreciated

..how come that with only 50 miles or less it is a pre-owned?......at any rate new or used (if used even less)...41k is very high...I got a base in NJ in Sept 2010 new for $39,900 which is just invoice..I don't know where you are...but be careful
  • jthakusjthakus Member Posts: 13
Thanks for the response svofan2. Appreciate it.
This car is available at a NC dealer.
What do you think a good price would be now?
    Thanks so much.
  • gategirlgategirl Member Posts: 3
Not exactly the same, but for comparison's sake, I just purchased a certified pre-owned 2011 Base with 6,000 miles on it for $37,000. Not sure how much $$ to account for the 5,500 miles, but the rest is the same, only one year newer.

    Hi,
Can folks share their MDX base 2011 prices here.
    I will appreciate it.

Just started looking for a CPO 2008 MDX with Tech Package in Dallas area. Dealers listed price range from 32000-35000 $ with around 35000 K miles on it.
Looked up KBB, edmunds, nada etc for price comparison....came to the conclusion that those sites are a good starting point to begin your research but not to get hung up on the price mentioned.

So .. wanting to check what folks are paying for such a car?

I bought my MDX from Performance in Chapel Hill, NC. I got a better price from a couple of DC-area dealers (Radley and Pohanka), but it would have been more of a hassle to travel to DC. The DC dealers were about $600-$700 lower than what I paid (total, out the door price). I paid $44,600 plus $398 doc fee, NC tax, and tag fees.
  • jthakusjthakus Member Posts: 13
I am also in the same area. How was the experience at Performance Acura?
    Thanks and Congrats!!!!
  • cbarry1cbarry1 Member Posts: 10
Performance was pretty good overall. Took awhile to get close to the price I wanted. I walked after first round of negotiations, and was ready to go to DC. They called back the next day and sweetened the offer. Went to Leith in Cary, but they didn't have an MDX with the specs/color I was looking for, so went back to Performance and purchased it. They did make a hard sell for extras (paint/leather protection package, extended warranty, etc.), which I declined.

Took a 3 year 36,000 mile limit lease on 2011 MDX with tech package. Negotiated cost 42,900 with wheel locks, all weather mats and cargo mat. Residual 57% and lease factor 0.00145.
Paid 612 per month with TTL rolled over. If I paid the TTL fee, monthly payment would have been 560.

    Hope this info is helpful.

I've been debating betwen the 2011 ACURA MDX TEch package for 43k vs. the Highlander Limited AWD + Nav for 37k. Is 6k difference worth it? They are pretty much comparable in features (AWD, nav)

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Hi Optimist:

I have test driven the MDX. It feels very much like a car, a sports car really. The power, road feel and even the sound of the dual exhaust. I would reccommend that you test drive both (if you haven't already) and take it from there. They are both quality cars. I think that the Highlander would be a more practical choice (has more functionality and space). If I was going on that alone I would by the Toyo.

It should get down to the personal take on how it feels and where you are in your life. I am 40 and three times I have attempted to buy a Toyota (wanting to ensure that I have vetted all material thing that would need to be considered) and then went with a Honda product each time. 1990 Camry vs. Accord - I bought the Accord, the Camry felt too old and did not have the same handling as my 4dr EX. In 2003, it was Rav 4 vs. Element. I bought the Element becuase of the pure utility of it and the fact that I knew that there would be many trips to the Home Depot in my near furture because I just bought a fixer-upper home.

Now I am looking to but a car for my wife (we just had our first kid). She currently has a 97 Acura that she has since college. The MDX seems "younger" and more hip, so it appeals to her. SUV is a must with the infant. Styling is a little too edgie for me, but I know that she would not go for the Highlander because, notwithstanding all the great specs and features and relative price - I think it is one step closer to that Caravan, than she would like to be.

    -Hope this helps

I've been looking at primarily used 08 MDXes, but recently I got an unsolicited offer by email from a dealer in my area (who I was talking about CPOs) and the pricing seemed good, and combined with the 0.9 36 month financing, I may consider it.

    The offers were for:

    Base - $39,995 + TTL
    Tech - $43,495 + TTL

Are these offers good? Can they be beat with more haggling?

Also, would I be able to find any new 2010 base or tech MDXes anywhere in the US? I've found a couple of new 2010 advances but that's too much for me.
  • mrenadette1mrenadette1 Member Posts: 15
I am looking at 2 different 2008 MDXs with similar miles/options. One is CPO the other is at a Toyota dealer. All things being the same, how much extra should I pay for the CPO?
  • 2011cx9sport2011cx9sport Member Posts: 2
I'd suggest that you also test drive a Mazda CX9; you may find that you can get the same luxury and driving experience for a lot less.
  • optimist2optimist2 Member Posts: 15
    Thank you for your ideas.

I just got an offer for 42.5 for an MDX tech. There is something strange about this offer. A few days ago, the price was almost 43.6k. Now suddenly two dealers are trying to beat each other's offers (and one of them I had not even contacted). Could there be anything else going on apart from friendly competition between dealers?

    Thank you for your opinions

The offer is from Dallas/Fort Worth. Slightly higher from Houston
