Giving back to the forum which has been very helpful.
I received a quote from a dealer for 06 MDX Touring with Navigation and Ipod connection as $37,642. This is in Northern California (SantaClara), and he did mention thats around 2K below invoice (mention was that iPod accessory installed was $550)
The quote for 06 Touring with Nav and DVD ent. and iPod link was 39,442.

That's great news, since I'm in the Bay Area and will be ready to buy in the next 2-4 weeks.

I'm especially intrigued by the Touring/Nav/DVD/iPod quote. Did you visit the dealer, or email the internet manager, or what to get this quote?

Looking to buy base MDX in MA. Any recommendation for a dealership and what could be a good price?
Today got quote from one dealer for $33,300 (including dest, tax, fees, registration etc)
  • acuratl2acuratl2 Member Posts: 12
Stevens Creek is offering the vehicle for $2,000 below invoice thru this Sunday. I was quoted $38,400 for the 2006 Touring w/ Nav and DVD. I ended up buying from Acura of Stockton. They matched the price quote and the Internet Manager exceeded all my expectations.

    Hope this info helps!
  • rossm1rossm1 Member Posts: 14
33,300 including tax, that would make a price ~32000
    Sounds like a good price
Where did you get that price?

    Thanks

There must be a glut of MDXs sitting on dealers' lots in the Bay Area resulting in huge flooring charges for the dealers if Stevens Creek Acura and Acura of Stockton are letting them go off the lot at $2K under invoice. Either that, or something is going on between the manufacturer and the dealers that the public isn't privy to. I thought I did well six weeks ago when I wrote a check to Acura of Pleasanton for my '06 Touring/Nav for $300 under invoice. Pat yourself on the back. Unless you financed the MDX through the dealer at a relatively high APR over a lengthy period of time, you saved a ton of dough.
  • acuratl2acuratl2 Member Posts: 12
There actually are a whole bunch of MDXs on dealer lots. I searched their online inventories while doing the research. Since I did not have to finance, I feel really good about the deal.
I'd like to add that both Stevens Creek and Stockton dealerships are very customer oriented. I highly recommend both dealerships to all shoppers in Northern California not simply because of the wicked deals but for the remarkable service they offer.

Quote is 33,300 including dest charge but Tax and tag are additional.

Did not see any recommendation for Massachusetts based dealer. Anyone with a recent good deal and pleasant buying experience in Massachusetts.

    Thanks

Acura of Boston. I did not purchase from them, but they had a big inventory recently. They wanted to move some out.

Hi everyone, I'm in the market to buy a new 06 Touring w/ DVD/Nav. I have seen a bunch of press about the deals being offered for this President's Day weekend, but wanted to know if its reasonable to expect as good or better deals if I wait till Feb 28. i.e. Does the end of month deal compare to a holiday weekend deal ? Thanks
  • acuratl2acuratl2 Member Posts: 12
If you're getting the car for the price you want, especially if it's on the dealers lot, I would suggest that you proceed with the purchase.
Dealerships usually advertise specials on holiday weekends to create an influx of buyers. You may or may not get a good deal at that time. In my experience, you are bound to get a good deal at the end of the month when dealers are trying to meet/better their projected sales, and will sell the cars (sometimes even for a loss) to satisfy their big picture (volume).

Sounds like there are great prices out here in the Bay Area. How did you get your quotes?
  • rambramb Member Posts: 4
Got my quote through email, requested quotes through carsdirect.com and edmunds.com. Initially they start off with a $1000 incentive and during the course of the week and due to the long weekend, got revised quotes which I think includes a $2000 incentive.

Invoice on a 2006 MDX Touring/NAV is $39092 inc $615 destination (MSRP $43,315) so I determined that anything south of $39,800 would probably be a decent deal. On Friday AM I e-mailed the internet sales managers of 7 Acura dealers between San Jose and North LA asking for their best quote. All quotes included $615 destination charge. The dealers were Fresno Acura, Gold Coast Acura (Oxnard), Valencia Acura, Superior Acura (Bakersfield), Acura 101 West (Calabasas), Stevens Creek Acura (Santa Clara) and Keyes Acura (Van Nuys). The last two are the largest volume Acura dealers in California. Valencia did not have the color in stock. Superior did not respond. Fresno wanted to know what other quotes I had. When I refused and told them I needed something south of $39K they quoted $39,800. Keyes phoned right away to see if I was ready to buy and said they would beat any price. Stevens Creek immediately quoted $37,092 (Invoice -$2000). Fresno dropped out. Gold Coast, where I test drove, thanked me for the opportunity to compete for the business but said they could not beat Stevens Creek. Keyes countered Stevens Creek with $36,792 (Invoice -$2300). Stevens Creek dropped out. No one ever asked me to verify what the others had quoted. I drove to Keyes this morning (3 hrs). Very friendly, efficient and professional opperation - no surprises and no BS. I put $5000 on AmEx (Rewards Points) and the paid the balance with a check thay they won't deposit until Thursday while funds transfer from my brokerage account. Out the door in under an hour with a new MDX, a full tank of gas, two chocolate cookies and a hot dog at $$39,844.

WOW, that sounds like an excellent deal. I just checked carsdirect's quote for New York City and it says $41k before tax and tags. Even with the $2k incentive, the price is still $39k. I can't believe the difference in price
  • kennyg5kennyg5 Member Posts: 360
Minor corrections, the price from carsdirect is for the Touring with DVD and Navi. Still, stevena48's price is INCREDIBLE. Congrats!!

Did anyone buy an MDX AWD w/ NAV in CT area? What was price paid out the door? Also, what dealership?

Also, is it worth paying 6K more for Acura MDX vs. Pilot???

    thanks,
    msu4evr1

I wanted to get the MDX, but the wife talked me into saving 7k+ for the loaded Pilot. The MDX does ride nicer, and I think that the MDX is a much nicer vehicle, but the Pilot price is what I guess sealed the deal.

The next one will (I hope :/) be an MDX

Thanks to everyone for all of their input.

BTW: I made my purchase in MA, but got some greate quotes from some MDX dealers for 2-3k off + 4.9 fin.

I've started looking for a MDX/Tour w nav in DC area

I tried the shotgun approach and emailed a bunch of dealrs off the acura Web site. Of 13 I emailed only 4 have responded
3 want 40K plus destination + processing fee
1 dealer in MD has emailed me back a "hassle" free quote for 38,500 which inludes the 615 destination fee only additional fee is the 100 for processing.

It seems a good deal 37,900 before the destination fee. I plan on taking this deal to Pohanka and Radley and see what they say. Will post my deal as soon as it's completed.

In additon how much should I expect to pay for the running boards.

Thanks for taking the time to inform us. Unfortunately I am in Houston, shared your prices with local dealer, he said you can't believe everything on the net. Any concerns
about the past transmission, torque converter and sloshly gas tank problems?

I received a call from a salesman from Claire Acura in MA who I spoke with earlier in the month. He offered the MDX Touring with NAV for $38,750. I'm going to wait him out until the end of the month and see where he goes with the price. Still wondering if I should wait and see what March brings from Acura. Hope this helps.

I was quoted the following prices in the midwest while searching for my 2006 MDX with Nav.

    Ed Napleton Acura 37,999
    White Bear Lake Acura 40,092
    McGrath Acura 41,192
    Bloomington Acura 38,092

    Buerkly Acura - wouldn't quote

I am picking mine up from Bloomington Acura with chrome side steps and rear spoiler for 39,320 out the door. I dealt directly with the internet sales person.

    Hope this helps.

Drove away with my new 06 MDX premium this weekend for 399/mo plus tax or 419 and change with 15k miles/ys for 36 months, $2500 due at sign, $1600 of which covered first payment, all fees, dmv, etc and also included 3 yr tire protection.
Negotiated vehicle price was 33,700. Unfortunatly I am Tier 3 credit, so I think my monthly payment is decent due to that. I can buy out at the end for about 22K. I think I did well. Any suggestions, comments on the deal?

Love this SUV, feels like a Luxury car ride with the height and Im a commuter so gas mileage has been decent this week. I am very happy with my choice.

I'm getting similar pricing from multiple dealers in the SF Bay Area.
  • 97edwardc97edwardc Member Posts: 13
I solicited bids from 14 dealers within 50 miles of my home in the Bay Area, got 11 quotes ranging from $600-$2200 below invoice. To get the bids I sent faxes to the sales manager of each dealership outlining exactly what I wanted and that I was ready to buy. Accepted the following offer:

    MDX w/Touring/Nav/DVD: $38222 including destination

Added following options for $2,712(price is as installed):

    - Complete tow package (everything from transmission fluid coolers to tow ball)
    - Chrome side steps
    - Acura Music Link (for iPod)
    - Protection package (all season mats, cargo tray, wheel locks)

Total price (before tax, title, destination): $40,934.

Bought from Marin Acura, but got same offer from Stevens Creek. Acura of Pleasanton and Los Gatos Acura were both within $100.

There are good deals to be had out there!

    Folks,

FYI. I bought a 06 MDX base model yesterday from a Acura dealership in the Houston area at a drive-off price of $37,000 ($34,570 before title, tax and license).
  • jonsjons Member Posts: 7
Can anyone shed any information on recent pricing of the MDX Touring/Nav in the NW.

We are in Bellingham, WA. Have to drive to buy since there is not a dealership here. Thus, will consider driving or flying to get a good price.

Also, anyword on what the sales promo in March will be? Will the 4.9% return during March?
  • sheltiepupsheltiepup Member Posts: 9
I am in the seattle area and am looking at a 2006 MDX with Navi and going to add: all season mats, cargo tray,Towing Package,Body Side Molding, Fender Flares,Tailgate Spoiler
Side Steps (Bright Chrome) and have ben quoted: $43,698

It seems high to me- Is it?
What would be a lease payment on this amount with 15k miles (3 yr)
Any help would be appreciated, because when I am reading these listings, I am not sure if its realistic for my area to get it cheaper than 40
  • jumbokenjumboken Member Posts: 3
That is a quite sweet deal. Best I was quoted was $38,400 inc. des. That is invoice - 2000. Dealership is in west NJ.
  • jonsjons Member Posts: 7
That is high per both Consumer Reports and USAA. Better to fly to SF and drive it home from what I have read here.
  • siberian1967siberian1967 Member Posts: 2
Ended up going through carsdirect.com and picked up our shiny new MDX yesterday from Marin Acura in Northern California.

2006 Touring with Nav and RES in Nighthawk Black with Saddle interior.

Carsdirect.com price was 41,292.00 putting drive-off at right around $45k or so.

That seems a tad higher then what others are paying but not totally out of the ballpark.

Regardless, the extra $1k-$2k was worth it to end our 3 month 'car search death march from hell' quickly and efficiently.

2nd car purchased via carsdirect.com, very satisified with them so far but I also tend to pay off my loan within 12 months of getting it and drive my cars for ~8-10 years each so that $1-$2k doesn't impact very much.

got a new MDX touring w/navi last night for $36892. added fender flares and rear spoiler for $1101 for a grand total of 37992.

got a BUNCH of internet quotes.. the lowest being for norcal (auto nation)... so emailed and called the socal dealers.. found several that would match the norcal price of 36892... (found some that wouldn't play)...

emailed weir canyon acura... got back a friendly email with a quote.... sent back my "i have this quote" offer... emailed back that they'd match it... asked about the two accessories.. also included my lowest quotes... immediately replies.. "we'll do it!"

then told them about the trade.. asked for a ballpark.. with the understanding that we knew they had to see the vehicle... they called and quoted us a ballpark.... once we got there... we got a bit nervous.. ALL the mdx's had add on stuff we didn't want.. we waited for the pressure.... kept waiting for the pressure.... funny thing.. the pressure never came! finally WE asked about the wood steering wheel... they guy said "you don't want that" and explained how it gets too hot in the summer for where we live (the desert)... the vehicle also already had the wood trim add on around the gauges... now that stuff is put on to stay.... they are leaving it on at no charge! they removed the side steps... protection package.. steering wheel and whatever else was on it... since it was late last night.. they sent us home in a loaner TL... and we'll pick up our new MDX with fender flares minus all that other stuff after work!

no hassles.. no pressure... just a pleasant experience.. the only angst was my own cuz i kept expecting the garbage to start! it never did!!!!!!!!!!!

That's so funny. I almost bought that exact car from them on Friday, but decided to take the Sage/Quartz instead. The one you got had about 75 miles on it, right, because they had to drive it down from Sacramento?

I bought a 2006/MDX Navi on Saturday from radley in No VA, they quoted me 38,400 including destination i thought that was a tad high considering what i've seen here about people in Cal getting 37,500 w destination. I told their price was high and showed him a internet quote from Chevy Chase Acura and said I would come back if they had a better deal. The sales manager came over and said what it would take to get the deal done today, I said reduce the price he said no but in the 38,400 he threw in chrome side steps, rear spoiler ipod kit, sun roof visor and all the interiro and exterior paint/leather packages. I tried taking the quote from Chevy chase for 38,000 including destination to Pohanka , rosenthal and tischer but they all said they would not match that price. I tried to get the MDX/navi/RES for 38,400 but all dealers said no.

I will post more numbers later, but this past weekend paperwork was signed for an 06 MDX Touring w/Nav & RES in Redrock Pearl for $40,000 even. We were hoping for some of the low prices that people are talking about out West, but here in New England we just couldn't get it to go quite that low. We ended up driving the 2 hours to Boston to deal with Acura of Boston and it was well worth it; they gave us the deal that our local dealership wouldn't even consider.

It is being registered this week and we will pick it up Saturday. When the keys are in my hand I will post all the details!

So far the dealership has been wonderful to work with and I would recommend them.
  • jumbokenjumboken Member Posts: 3
I signed all paper work last night with Acura of Clinton (NJ)for a '06 MDX, touring, Nav, Res. Quoted $38,400 including des. out of door $41,132. Scheduled pick up will be this Friday 3/3. I have contacted about 15 dealerships in the area, Clinton's price was not the best, but I was treated with respect and professionalism. I will post more details later.

If you live in NJ and consider getting a Acura, I won't recommend Bridgewater Acura, I had worst experience with their sales person.

I am interested in the exact same car and I live in RI. I'm curious about what prices you received from the dealers in RI and MA. I have also noticed that it is tough to get the rock bottom prices I am reading from people in other parts of the country.
