I am planning on purchasing a 2015 CRV-EX FWD soon. Here is a breakdown of the quote the dealer gave me, including all of the accessories I wanted. I live in the Phoenix area in Arizona.

    Price of Car $24,357.00
    TAILGATE SPOILER $360.20
    ROOF RAILS $742.80
CROSSBARS Price included above for roof rails
    EXHAUST FINISHER, CHROME $59.20
CARGO TRAY incl. in dealer adds
REMOTE ENGINE START SYSTEM II $651.20
Dealer Add On $699.00 Includes Window Tint, Splash Guards, Trunk Tray, Wheel Locks
    Total Before Taxes $26,869.40
    Tax Rate 8.30%
    Taxes $2,230.16
    Title and License Fees $518.61
    Dealer Doc Fee $395.00
    TOTAL OUT THE DOOR $30,013.17.

A few questions. (1) How much lower can I reasonably expect to get them on the car? I don't want to be unreasonable, but want a good price. (2) should I ever pay more than MSRP for accessories. Honda's website lists the MSRP and it seems odd to pay more than MSRP for accessories when you never do for the car. What is everyone else's experience? Here's my planned counter when I go in.

    Price of Car $23,500.00
    TAILGATE SPOILER $296.00
    ROOF RAILS $742.80
    CROSSBARS Included in above
    EXHAUST FINISHER, CHROME $51.00
    CARGO TRAY included below
REMOTE ENGINE START SYSTEM II $399.00
Dealer Add On $314.00 Includes Window Tint, Splash Guards, Trunk Tray, Wheel Locks
    Total Before Taxes $25,302.80
    Tax Rate 8.30%
    Taxes $2,100.13
    Title and License Fees $518.61
    Dealer Doc Fee $395.00
    TOTAL OUT THE DOOR $28,316.54

What does everyone think. I was thinking of possibly going in at $28,000 even and then working up to $28,500 maximum. Thoughts? I'd appreciate any additional advice.

Top quote was 510 above invoice price minus getting ripped off on accessories.

Bottom target puts you at 1367 below invoice price for vehicle minus adjusted accessories price.

( Remember dealer is taking back $395 of the 1367 below invoice with doc fee's.)

Try to get dealers to match accessory prices from below sites w/ your $1367 below target price on vehicle.

    http://www.collegehillshonda.com/category/2015-crv-accessories.html

    https://www.cheaphondaparts.com/oem-parts-and-accessories/2014-CR-V/Exterior/732/1/

Make sure when negotiating with dealers they all know the 23,500 includes the 880 destination charge

Note: Roof rails on these sites are about $360... dealers invoice on this item is $229.00 ( big mark up)

Good luck.............. AZ is a tuff market

Can I get a quick response?

Bout to buy a Honda CRV EX AWD, with tinted front windows and a few minor accessoires (all weather mats, trunk tray, and locking lug nuts)

Final negotiated price is $24,650 with no other dealer fees, (plus I will have to pay tax and title to tag agency in OKlahoma in amount of 3.25% of purchase price within 30 days per our vehicle excise tax law)

    Please advise at the soonest.

    Thanks

    Good deal

@1220 below dealers invoice price with added accessories. Minus dealers doc fee and that's your true below invoice number. End of the month will net you a better deal but if your ready to pull trigger Go for it.

    Good luck

Thanks.  At dealership pulling the trigger now.  24650  Price includes dealer doc fee, which is normally $399 at this dealership.

Shopping for a new crv in PA philly area, so can access approximately 4 million Honda dealers in 3 states.

A first round of bids gets me for the AWD LX

    23,392 plus TTL

    Or for the AWD EX

    25,548 plus TTL.

I can't wait for the end of the month unfortunately, my husbands 05 Elantra finally crapped out- bad catalytic converter, not worth the cost to replace. We can skate one car for this week, but not much after that.

What should I be aiming for as far as price? Also any opinions on Lx vs Ex? Heated seats seem nice but my 01 civic had a moonroof and I never used it. I'd basically upgrade for the heated seats lol.

I paid about $25,400 before TTL which included some dealer add-on's for free. This was in NJ.

I never even considered the LX because the EX has quite a few more features than the LX besides the moonroof and heated seats:

    From Cars.com
Basics: The EX trim level adds some features that might seem basic like map pockets behind the front seats and illuminated vanity mirrors as well as 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, push-button start, body-colored side mirrors, chrome door handles, Honda LaneWatch, LED daytime running lights.

Interior and tech: Ten-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, six-speaker stereo, 7-inch display screen, two USB ports.

Miscellaneous: Retractable cargo cover, rear privacy glass.

I need help negotiating a price for a 2015 CRV ex-l w/ AWD. I emailed the internet manager for 5 or 6 dealerships. The lowest quote back including everything but taxes, title and tags was $27,700. I know that is too high, but need help in determining what is a good deal here. Is $26,500 reasonable or am I shooting for the moon? I'm in the Richmond area if that helps.
    Thanks!

I don't know what is the best price really is on an EX-L, but I can tell you you won't get the best price without walking into the dealer. I did the "TrueCar" and "Web Special Pricing" things with several dealers, and in the end I paid $800 less than the best offer I received via email or TrueCar by haggling down with a salesman.

In my area, "True Car" pricing was way off. My final price was lower than the lowest "True Car" pricing. I never step foot in a dealership. Just negotiated by email or phone. Just got a few prices around my area and a couple of prices outside the area in a major metropolitan city with high volume and inventory. Then had the local deal beat or price match. Took all of 2 hrs to seal the deal. May not be the lowest price but satisfactory to me for the time put into it. I paid $1275 below invoice for an EXL FWD, according to some on this thread, $27,000 seems to be a good price for an EXL AWD. I think hat is close to $1500 below invoice.

Thanks for the feedback - in terms of the $27,000 being a good price - would that include the dealership doc and processing fee? Thanks!

True Car pricing should be used as a price guide not a final price. Most savvy shoppers will be able to do a lot better than Truecars price.

EX; 2015, Chevy Malibu 1k cheaper than True-Car last month. Mazda6........... $600 cheaper.

In area's where the market price is not good you have to play the end of the month buying game. Emailing / calling dealerships Int/ MGRS. pitting one dealer against the next.

Emailing dealers In the beginning of the month / June 7th, most of the time gets you know where with better pricing as you are finding out. Wait , wait, wait , 2 more weeks. That's when the real negotiating starts.

Brian - i will wait til later in June. Do you think $27,000 (including everything but taxes, title, tags) is a good price to shoot for for a AWD ex-l CRV or do you think I could do better by the end of the month?

Breakdown your current deal for me ? State buying? Selling price quoted? does that price include dest/ charge? Dealers doc fee, etc. Any accessories added? @27k

I don't have a current deal yet. I contacted several dealerships telling them I was interested in a white or grey CRV ex-l with AWD. My target price was $27000 to include everything except taxes, tags and title. Several said they couldn't do it as it was too low. Others offered a little higher. One is talking to their manager to see if they can do it - I haven't not asked for any accessories and don't know of any I would want.

At that price 27k it would be $1471 below invoice minus dealers doc fee charge. Hold steady to see who meets that price. You have 2 good weeks left to pit dealers against each other. Every call and email you receive from dealers keep on telling each one I BUY TODAY for 27k that includes dest/ fee and excludes taxes and dmv fee's. What state are you buying ?

Last time I purchased where I have to negotiate in person in a dealership was in 1996. All cars I've purchased since then were by phone or on-line. Try to do some research by going to the larger dealers with huge inventories. They seem to want to unload their cars at much lower prices. Also consider buying during major holidays. With July 4th around the corner, start contacting the internet sale managers Thursday before the holiday weekend. Brian is correct to say that you need to tell the dealer that you will by the same day if the price is right. Good luck. BTW, don't forget to negotiate the excessive doc fee. In CA, it is locked in at $80 so it is much simpler negotiations.

You have a lot of good dealers near and around you if you don't mind traveling. Use it to your advantage. Wait another week or so, do your homework then make your calls for the sale that day. Check dealers inventory. play hardball with high volume dealerships .

Your target price of $26.5 is a good starting point. Work up from that number at months end. Email dealers in MD, and VA. tell each dealership you buy today for XX price. Know each dealers doc fee charge before making your offer to them. ( call ahead for that info. then call or email back Int/ managers with your offer. Doc fee's range in your area $299 to 499.

Get MD. dealerships like Criswell, Pohanka , O'Donnell, Jim Coleman, Shockley, Sport Honda involved in the price wars.

In VA. along with your dealers reach out to these 3

    Chantilly, Hendrick, AutoNation.

Good luck you should do well in your area.

    Hey all,

here is a quote that I got through email from a SoCal dealer.   What do you think of this deal?  I'm holding out for lower.  It's a fwd vehicle.

    2015 CRV EX
    MSRP-$26,425
    Sales price-$24,194
Your OTD price based on 92506 zip code- $26,512.67

On 4/26, I helped my co-worker with the purchase of 2015 CRV-EX 2WD from Spreen which had the lowest price of $23714 (including destination). With TTL, it was just under 26K.

Thanks for your replies.  I will attempt to get the price into the lower to mid 23k.  I feel that these dealers will attempt to add fees on top of it , like dealer fees, or other fees that they make up not counting the ttl.  July 4 weekend is approaching at least

Here is another quote I recieved from a dealer.  But they exclude the destination fees.  Still a bit high.

Your special internet price on the vehicle is : $22,722.00

    Pre-Delivery Inspection:  $495.00
    Destination:                      $880.00

    Pre-Tax Total:                  $24,097.00

Internet quotes are just that. Most inquires are close in pricing unless your telling dealer your buying that moment. Negotiate on the phone, thru the internet w/ mgr. or at the dealership. You need a target price to buy. The day you start your negotiations is the day you buy. This gives you the upper hand in the negotiations. Dealers are facing a immediate sale that moment if your target price is met. Email / call 15 dealerships for the sale that day.

Your above quote can be $1265 below dealers invoice if you knock off the bogus $495 pre inspection.

I would target 1500 below invoice on the Ex, fwd model, or 23,367 which includes the 880 dest / charge. Then work back towards invoice price if 1500 below is UN- obtainable in your area

    Invoice w/ dest on your model =.................... $ 24,867.

Sounds like "dealer profit" to me. If Honda isn't paying the dealers to prep new cars, it should be a cost of doing business, not a fee to the consumer.

    Hello All,

need your help. I am looking for 2015 CR-v EX AWD in Dayton Ohio. The best quote I have received so far is:

    Car -$23770
    Documentation and Title- $285
    Taxes - $1745
    Total - $25800 OTD.

Do you think it is a good deal to purchase right now Or, shall I wait for a another 2-3 months for 2016 launch and if I can get that for may be $1000-1500 more. My friend bought the 2015 CR-V EX AWD in Dec 15 for about $900 more of what is being quoted to me. Not sure if I would get any discounts immediately after the launch. Please advice.

    Thanks!

That's a good price but if there aren't any financing specials then it might be worth waiting couple months for the 2016.

Haven't discussed any financing details yet. Was hoping to get somewhere between 1.6-2.0% as there are no specials right now. In a meeting. Shall i call you in sometime? Also in the dilemma that should i wait for a couple more months for 2016

    hi, ALL
I got quote AWD EX-L BLACK. I live in MI.

    Price:[1]$27,572
    Doc Fees:+$210
    Est. Sales Tax:+$1,667
    Title & Transfer Tag+$23
    Est. Gov’t Fees:+$24(Tax, Tag & Title)

    Total Financed:$29,496

    Actually, I ASK 27K ODT.

    IRST deaLer say

there is not 1 Honda dealer out there that can even come close to selling you an EX-L for $27,000 OTD including doc fee, 6% tax, title, and plates. In fact, we cannot even do that number just for the vehicle price. If you are looking to be at that price, then we need to be talking about an EX model, not EX-L. Please let me know if you have a more reasonable price to work with, such as the $29496 OTD price I quoted you.

    How about this deal??
My baby was just born so I am very busy.... to negociate with deaLers.. :'(
But my car was total loss.. I need new car this month...

DO you know invoice price for AWD EX-L ?
How much is good deal? I need to know what my out-the-door cost is going to be in MI.

      hi, ALL
I got quote AWD EX-L BLACK.

      EXL awd invoice with dest/ charge= $27,592 plus 880 dest charge = $28,471.

A good target price to shoot for in your area is 27k to 27.3k ( includes dest/ charge) excludes taxes, tags, dmv etc.

Thanks, Brian . The dealer doesn't mention 880 dest charge... Doc Fees:+$210
      IS it all excludes??

      Est. Sales Tax:+$1,667
      Title & Transfer Tag+$23
      Est. Gov’t Fees:+$24(Tax, Tag & Title)

      These all is 1714 .

      AND sale price+880 =27k to 27.3 right??
      27k +1714=28714 to 29014

      IS IT GOOD ODT PRICE??

      Thanks so much. good afternoon.

Your current offer is $690 below dealers invoice after you take into consideration dealers $210 doc fee. If dealer has added the dest/ charge of $880 to this price its a ok deal for your area.... but far from on the better end.

Get more dealerships involved and shoot for my target price if you have a couple of weeks before buying.

      Hi Brian,

My wife and I can really use your help. Do you know a good number to shoot for either OTD or for the vehicle with destination on a 2015 CRV EX-L in NM or surrounding areas? Please advise when you have a moment. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with your area ( NM ) . Using a good pricing guide from past sales across the country and trying to buy right a months end or even extending my negotiations thru 4th of July weekend to make the best possible deal. Here is what I would do. ( end of the 2nd quarter will help you make a better deal this month )

Play out this month till the end..................... if your target price is not met before.

Next week make a list of all your targeted dealerships that your willing to travel to. 5 ,10,15, 20 etc. ( the more you get involved in the price wars the better ). Then either call the Int / mgrs. or email each dealership with a note stating your ready to buy x model today for X price. This will start your negotiations and get the ball rolling with dealerships. . Be firm on your price. Dealers that wont commit to any pricing at first will by months end so leave your email and number.

A good target price to start is 1300 to 1500 below invoice price. I would use the higher number. Remember the dealers doc fee charge will cut into the 1500 below price. Know each dealers doc fee charge.

      EXL , awd Invoice w/ dest charge = $28,472 minus 1500 = $26,972 ( excludes taxes, dmv , doc fee charge. )

When you talk or email all your target dealers word it just like I posted

I will buy the Exl, awd model for $26,972. This price includes the dest/ charge and Excludes taxes, tags etc. make this clear with each dealership so there is no pricing confusion.

      Good luck
