feel free to list what warranty you got and why, and how much you paid
Just happened to be browsing as I too just recently purchased a 2015 CRV
When it came to the warranty, the dealer offered me a warranty for $1100 for 7 years
Anyhow I passed. I was determined from the beginning not to get a warranty. I didnt even negotiate for the warranty. He initially offered it to me for 2000 and kept lowering it himself because I kept saying not interested. His final offer was for 1100 and when I said no he visibly got upset, his mood really changed.
Just my experience from a few weeks ago. Not suggesting you get a warranty or not get a warranty. Just stating the price I was offered.
I dont believe they gave us any paperwork about the warranty, since we declined. So I cannot give you hard details about the quality of the warranty, etc...
The spiel they used was that the warranty had a 50$ deductible for repairs at any dealership other than the one I was purchasing the car from. No deductible for repairs if I took the car to their dealership.
They also said if I passed on purchasing the warranty, I could not come back tomorrow and buy it, if I changed my mind - they tried to pressure me. Anyhow I was determined not to get the warranty from the get go, so I didn't bite, or care.
Honda's stance will be to swap out the bad unit. The Audio unit itself has 2 snap on plug wires so there is no wire splicing needed. Once the compartment is opened the Audio unit comes out very easily . ( 99.9% this is done with no problems. ) My Only concern would be any rattles and squeaks in the dash and front compartment once job is done. The older model CRV's you were able to replace the radio by opening the storage spin right under the radio. There were a couple of screws to remove in storage box helping radio to slide right out of the dash mount. Prior to this last design ( before 2013 ) you had to open up the compartment by the radio knobs, then the bottom and top frame around the unit.
Looking at the new model CRV..................... The side / bottom is how they will open dash to get at radio unit. . Keep all work records just in case down the road a problem occurs.
The swap out itself is no big deal for a Honda technician..................... Hope this helps

So here is my deal in Chicago land area. I research on the vehicles and read all advice Brian has provided on this forum. I send emails to 20+ dealers asking for price breakup as below. I clearly mentioned that I will not consider quote if dealer cannot provide me price breakup. I ask them to provide me also vehicle stock number to make sure they have vehicle in stock. This also allowed me to verify vehicle online where ever dealer's inventory is available to browse. OR ask another dealer to verify for you
Sale Price
Tax
License/Registration
Destination
Doc Fees
Any applicable Rebates
Any add-on accessories
The reason I ask for price breakup because dealers can quote you price with rebates that they know you may not qualified for. Or will exclude destination charges from the quote and later play a game of innocent mistakes. Or added accessories to jack-up the price. I noted above in spreadsheet for each dealers to make an easy comparison.
I also did my research on Chicago land dealers to make sure I do not waste time with unworthy dealers. I would suggest staying away from City Honda, Grossing Honda in Chicago area.
Fletcher John, Valley Honda, Grand Honda, Continental Honda are one of the most professional dealers.
Initially I narrow down to Honda Accord for 2015 Honda Accord EX-L with Modern Steel Metallic color and Gray Leather. The lowest quote I received (including $1,000 dealers rebate) was:
EPRICE: 23,397
DESTINATION: 820
OTD PRICE: $26,357.74
Another dealer was ready to break price by another $100. So my deal would be $26,257.74 OTD.
But, later we decided to go for Honda CRV. I re-run the same process as above. By now, I know which dealer to watch for. My 2015 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD with Basque Red Pearl II and Gray Leather deal was:
EPRICE: $25,951.57
DESTINATION: $880.00
OTD PRICE: $29,195.31
Note: One of my friend also tag along with me when buying CRV. I received CRV price for two vehicle.
Moral of the story, more the merrier
Thanks Brian, Steve and rest of user who has contributed on this forum educating consumers. I wish good luck to new buyers.
I think you'd be wasting your time with the Attorney General. I don't want to generalize, but most people would consider it unreasonable to replace an entire vehicle due to a faulty audio system.
I'm not trying to criticize... just giving a dose of reality.

OTD $27600 plus 2.89% APR for 60 Months with Honda Financial. (They ran my credit, score was 678)
I have to pay $8500 down and $319 per month @ 60 Months. That is all. (I said my max is 300/month, they said they cannot do it)
They do not have the color I want (Silver with black interior). So they will have someone drive it from another dealer 85 miles away. The CRV will have about 100 miles if I pick it up. Is that a lot?
Will really appreciate your quick response.
I'm in Orlando, Florida
You need to post the vehicle selling price, dealers doc fee charge, how much tax was added onto your otd price . otherwise its a guessing game. All the other numbers you posted are useless. Every state has a different Tax rate, Doc fee charge , and Dmv fee's.

That's a good price better than the original one quoted . Consider buying. Best price I seen on that warranty 8yr / 100k was................. $900
The Accord one ..............$875

I know another member of this board was offered a different extended warranty, but it was an outside company (not Honda). I don't recall the specifics, so I would just double-check on the company/warranty that they're pushing.
Good Luck with your decision! (I purchased it because we keep cars for 8-10 years, and figure it covers 95% of any issues we could encounter). My $1,435 cost breaks down to $287 a year, after the first 3yrs/36k mi. It was $1,255 to do 7yrs/80k miles.
$ 27240 which includes destination
$ 385 documentation fee
$ 27,625 OTD (I live in New Hampshire, so no sales tax)
You will find asking for price quotes in the begin weeks of any month results in same pricing give and take a few hundred. Change your negotiating strategies. Tell all dealerships I buy for x price today. Do you want the sale . I will hold with a credit card deposit. Wait till month's end last couple of days to the last day. You will net a better deal.
good luck

Most the dealers were in the mid-high 25xxx range. Even when using your strategy of calling the dealers and offering to buy at x price today, none were willing to budge at all from their prices.

I probably should of held out for more off.
I did have one dealer who would drive the car to my front door (1hr) to get the deal done at $250 above this price. The local dealer (5m away) has 117 CRVs/31 EXs in stock but got stuck in his "all in" at 26,384.
Was offered this deal for 2015 CR-V LX AWD:
$240 per month for 39 months for 12k miles
Due at signing:
First month - $240
DMV - I'm registered for another year and have plates
$595 Bank fee
MSRP: $25,575
Residual: $16,797
This is in New York City/Queens through a lease dealer - not a Honda dealership. Got the similar quote from 3 different lease dealers. As I'm unsure if you can even negotiate price with them, is this a decent deal or should I aim to go to a Honda Dealership and negotiate MSRP/Invoice pricing then swap to lease?
