@benjaminh, those are great photos. Where did you get them? I've been looking for some black and white old car photos to frame and hang up? Anyone have a source?
That Nash actually looks like they were pretty forward-thinking, with that frame. More of a perimeter style than the more typical ladder frame of the era. Gas tank actually looks fairly well-protected as well, with not only the bumper, but the rear cross support of the frame, plus it looks like extra beefing up at the end of the body.

Watching the videos and looking at the pics, the dash design and interior controls really seem like afterthoughts I guess pickups weren't yet worthy of much attention to those things.
I believe a "nut and olive sandwich" was with cream cheese, sliced green olives and pistachios.
I don't ever remember that.. of course, it was 20 years later, for me. Olive loaf was a thing, though. I don't ever remember anyone eating pistachios, when I was growing up in that area.
Shifty, your concoction sounds like something where you grew up in NY.
I resorted to looking up the recipe for olive-nut sandwiches. Seems to be more of a party thing, cut into small square or finger sandwiches. It is cream cheese, chopped olives, chopped toasted pecans and some mayo all mixed together. Pumpernickel was the bread recommendation I saw.

I do remember those as a kid, served to us in prison....er.....school in NY. P.S. 91 with its razor wire and barred windows wasn't exactly Brookdale Country Day, I must say.
On the other hand, I developed life skills which have served me very very well.

However, it appears that the long-standing debate on whether an hot dog is a sandwich was resolved 80 years ago.
