Hey guys is this maintenance package worth it if you are leasing? Honda Care Maintenance (Dealership Enhanced) $795
I'm not a DIYer and don't have a garage I work with so I estimate cost of required maintenance to be $300-$400. Package performs same maintenance, gives you a loaner while worked on, adds $1k additional damage waiver, and waives disposition fee ($350) on return if you decide to not lease another Honda.
So i'm still in the mid 24s for EX-L with destination fee...Anyone in Georgia area been able to knock down dealer fees? Dealer fees here in Atlanta area are about 600$ seems pretty high compared to other states mentioned in the forum
24500 with destination 600 dealer fee 80 electronic transfer?? 40 title 1900 GA 6.7% tax
@brian125 Almost ready to make the deal.....how does this look? Southern Ca.
2015 Honda Accord EXL Sedan Special internet price: $24,647 (includes destination) College graduate rebate: $500 You pay: $24,147 plus tax and fees $369.
Dealership offering free wheel locks and decklid spoiler (that we want) for $375.
@951camry here is a good tip for you getting email quotes
Email / call dealerships 100 or more miles from your house. Tell each dealerships Internet manager or dept. going into the last week of any month that for xx price you will consider buying said vehicle from them if no dealer closer to you will match this price. You leave 100 plus miles away and may be willing to take the drive. Ask each manager if they want the sale . Work your best deal further away then try to get those prices closer to home . Or just buy it further away. Alot of out of state dealers will try to earn your business. This works well in area's where yours is not selling that low and other area's/ states are selling cheaper. This must be done the last week and buying right at the end of the month.
You will find dealers further away sending you a email price cause they know dealers by you are many miles away and they will look to take the out of town business away from your area dealers. High volume dealerships especially they sell cars.
If I am not willing to drive far away with the best OTD price, is it possible to buy a car without going to the dealership?
Your missing my negotiation points / ploy . You don't have to drive real far away from your house. Only if you want to. Emailing dealers further away getting better pricing then pushing your local dealers to match or beat price is very effective.
Yes you could buy/ hold any car with a credit card deposit. Dealers need to fax over to you the bill of sale / buyers order . You and dealer both sign paperwork then you complete deal when you get down to the dealership and pay in full.. Most local dealerships may want you to come in. A fax buy works best when you have outside financing in place. I like to tell dealers if you could meet or beat my rate I will finance thru you.
I have bought hundreds of vehicles in a lot of different states buying this way. It is fast and easy on both ends.
I just bought an Accord Sport Manual from David L. at Gillman Honda, San Antonio TX. Fairly easy to deal with them, all email til the end. Price was $20,632. OTD $22,283. Thanks to everyone for the advice.
Hi Brian, Thank you so much for all your good work on this forum. I am in the market for a 2015 Honda Civic EX and have been shopping around for the best price. The MSRP for the car I am interested $22K incl Dest. Charges. What would be a good price to ask the dealerships before TTL?. I have been trying all your methods but with little success so far. There are still few days left before the year end and hoping to hear back from a dealer. I wanted to ask you what would be an ideal price to ask them to score a good deal. Let me know what you think?
The state your buying in may be a problem. Your models invoice is 19,692 plus 820 for destination
I would email as many dealerships internet dept. as far as your willing to travel to. 10, 15, 20 dealerships if possible. Your target price for this vehicle is about 1000 below dealers invoice price or 19,512 this price includes the destination charge and excludes all taxes tags and dealers doc fee charge.
again area will play a big part in pricing. I received a email from a poster in NC who claims they purchased @1200 below dealers invoice on a civic ex.
In NY and NJ Civic's are selling at invoice price to 500 below.
In MA about 1k below. MD about the same
Be patient and wait til the last day to find that knock out deal. Get more dealerships involved in the price wars
Car price was 21700.46 Doc fee 80 sales tax 1960.24 electronic vehicle registration or transfer charge = 20.50. ( i dont know what this is can someone explain for me plz?) vehicle license fee 141 registration 101 CA tire fees 8.75
Brian, thank you for your response. I am located in Sacramento, CA.
It might be worth the 80 mile drive to buy in San Francisco. Try emailing dealerships telling each one that for 1200 or 1400 below dealers invoice you will buy vehicle Today. If price is to high you could always bargain back up towards invoice price a few dollars if dealers are willing to compromise. You have nothing to lose. Many good deals are had these last few days. The Superbowl of car buying is what I call these last few days.
Make sure any emails / calls go to the Internet manager. That's who you want to speak to. Nobody else. If he or she is busy leave a contact number. Then move on to your next targeted dealership.
You may have to call each dealership to get the Internet mgr. email and number. This is the only way to buy right now. Buying a vehicle this way ( direct calls to the mgrs.) will net you the best results with pricing. I would not lie to you. My track record in these forums speaks for itself. Take the bull by the horns and apply what I'm telling you.
Remember Dealer meets your price you buy that moment holding with a credit card deposit. This is your leverage... Put each dealership on the spot . Your objective is a Answer... YES or NO or a counter offer then you move onto the next dealer. I could go thru 20 dealers in 30 mins buying this way. Its Fast, direct ,and simply..... You will make a good deal ...................................
You are giving great suggestions here and I appreciate it. However, they are not working out very well for me at this moment. Could you please help?
I actually need to purchase a Honda base model hybrid before year's end. Although I wrote the dealers about a 2015, I would be ok with a 2014 (though there are hardly any around). Anyway, I wrote to 5 dealers and am getting either form letters back, or flyers. No one has given a price at this point and I was adamant that I want to purchase and have credit card in hand.
More importantly, I am in Long Island NY and would like your opinion of what the best price I could get for this model car. I notice that you wrote that NY is not the best, maybe $500 under invoice. Is that before the destination fee? What would you pay for the base hybrid accord right now?
It was a very good deal as per edmunds invoice price. Didn't get any accessories and didn't qualify for 0.9% APR (Got 3.1% APR!!). Nevertheless fantastic deal

which state are you from? the best deal i can get on 2015 Honda Accord Sports is $23,5k OTD Thanks VP

Hi Elizabeth
You have 2 things working against you. Your area and the supply / demand on this hybrid vehicle.
NY doc fee's are only 75 dollars. NJ doc's range from $299 to 499 so make sure you know each NJ dealers doc fee charge before agreeing to a price.
Make direct phone calls to each of your targeted dealerships in LONG Island, and NJ. Speak only to the Internet managers if possible ...... if they are not available leave your number with I will buy today if we could agree on a price holding with a credit card. Secure a price then go to the dealership.
Try these dealerships in addition to yours.
New Rochelle, Yonkers Friendly, Bay Ridge Honda, Huntington , Atlantic Honda in NY
In NJ................ Auto-Sport, DCH Paramus, Garden State, Hamilton , Paul Miller Honda.
Your target price should be I buy today for 500 below dealers invoice price. Negotiate this price hard be firm and only give in on the 31st of this month. You may have to settle on Invoice price or above but don't forget your buying a Honda with great resale value and a model that dealers are not selling a lot of. As long as the sale price is 500 below dealers invoice it wont matter if dest/ charge was included or not. I like to add it to my target price so me and dealer are crystal clear on pricing.
If you need me I will be around tonight and tomorrow in varies forums helping others with there sales. Start calling dealerships tonight. No more emails....... direct call to the managers.
The 2014 model with 90 miles is being discounted 2714 below dealers invoice. Absolutely try for a few more dollars and some dealership freebie's like.... Free oil changes, pin stripping , all season mats, cargo tray, etc..
Your offer of 30k will be rejected that's another 1700 off your already 2714 below price.. 300 to 500 dollars more would be a homerun. I would see if you could buy a 2015 model your choice color for 1k to 1500 below. This target price might be possible in CA at months end.
On the 2nd deal vehicle with 250 miles I would email that dealers internet mgr. and tell him/ her you will buy said model for 3k or more below dealers invoice and hold vehicle with a credit card deposit. If dealership agrees have them give you the total OTD pricing . You could have this dealer fax you over the buyers order and complete the sale via email / fax. Let dealer 2 know that at xx dealership you will buy there 2014 model for the same price but you want the color they have. Tell dealer 2 beat xx Honda's price I buy right NOW................Play the Game .......... Like a good game of poker..
Never tip your hand till the very end of this month. Make the dealers blink first.. You have the most buying leverage this week coming up.
keep me posted
Hi @brian125, Finally i have sent out the emails to most of the dealers (8) in my area for 2015 Accord Touring. I have asked for $31k OTD price. so far 3 have responded with their lowest of $32K, $32744 & $33627. One of the 5 remaining is asking to forward the lowest offer i have to check with his manager if they can beat it. Is it ok to forward the pricing?
Another one from the remaining 5 just sent a one liner saying "we are way too off" I have asked him to send me his lowest so lets see. Seems like he is not happy.
There are 2 more dealers besides the 8 which i contacted but they have only black available which we dont prefer.
Based on this scenario Could you please let me know what you think about the OTD pricing i am asking for and the offers so far I have received? Should still wait till tomorrow?
Let me ask you a question? at 31k OTD . How much below dealers invoice are you asking dealers to sell this 2015 vehicle? A 2015 touring models invoice w/dest charge = $ 31,568
I don't remember your buying State? your sales tax rate ? or the amount of tax that will be applied to this sale. ? . ..
Post for me the exact Sales tax numbers applied on this model your asking? Post each one of the dealers you mentioned doc fee charges? Post your states dmv charges that brings you to ask for 31k OTD number, or dealers numbers off 32k , 32.7k, price numbers?
I will comment once you fill in these question marks.
It was a very good deal as per edmunds invoice price. Didn't get any accessories and didn't qualify for 0.9% APR (Got 3.1% APR!!). Nevertheless fantastic deal

Hi Brian, First, thank you! Unfortunately, I just walked in the door after 2 meetings. So, calls were not made. I will make them first thing in the morning though!
Not certain if I should call the dealers with invoice minus the $820 destination fee, or with invoice minus dest AND $500 (minus $1320 off invoice). Which would you go with?
I did receive prices from Atlantic $29.5k OTD (with tax) and from Huntington at $27,844 w/ dest. Not including tax and DMV. I have not responded to them yet. Thoughts so far?

Thanks again. Have a great night! Elizabeth
as long as you know the dest/ charge is included or has to be added to the agreed sales price it wont matter. its up to you. I would take your models invoice price then minus 500 off that price. this number is your target price. if you add the 820 dest charge make sure dealer is aware of this so your both on the same page.
As you read prior postings this past week our members in MA, MD, VA, CA, are getting close to 2k below dealers invoice price on the 2015 model. Not sure what you may be able to get in the Dallas area but a $1150 to 2000 below dealers invoice price should be your target price to buy assuming your area's doc fees are only 150 dollars.
There is a 500 dealer cash incentive on all 2015 models . Dealer-holdback on your model is 2% of the base MSRP. Figure another $500 plus. Then add on dealers doc fee charge in your area. Make what ever that Number is ........ Your low end Target price to buy. Use your higher target price to buy (1800 /2k below ) when emailing/ calling on the 27th then work down from that number if you need to.
Remember on the 27th when send out those emails/ calls be firm letting each dealership know.. I buy today for xxx price. Do not jump at the 1st counter offer. Go down your list of targeted dealerships and make them sweat . Let them chase you. Play the game. you still have 4 good days left before months end.. You want to find those dealerships still looking for end of the month / last quarter sales numbers. That's where you may hit the price jackpot. Some car dealerships may have till Jan, 2nd or 3rd before closing out there 2014 calendar year sales. Not sure if that's true with Honda
Key Negotiation words in your emails/ calls should all state the same thing. This kind of wording is direct and puts you in charge of the negotiations. Make sure you use some of these in your talks. If you lose some dealers doing this so be it................... They were not giving you a better price and probably going to wasting your time. .
I use these saying like a broken record when I talk to the internet managers. Putting the fear of @brian125 into them . ..................... Hope this helps some of you. It always helps me.
I'm looking to buy x model , color, with or without these accessories. (only if you want added accessories.) nothing else. My price of xxx includes the destination fee and excludes taxes and tags. Your dealers doc fee charge of xxx were taken into consideration of my price. I will buy this vehicle from your dealership today holding sale with a credit card deposit till I could get down to your store.
See how I went from asking for there best price to letting dealer know I'm a educated buyer and I wont let them play games with me. I put this manager and every manager on the spot. just like this. If this manager lies to me or is not honest about wanting this sale YOU will hear a dial tone from my end. probably after I tell him/ her off . Onto the next dealer... My targeted dealership list is long and life is short.. I don't have time for games. This is my world it works........ TRY IT. Your leverage is your buying that moment no time for game playing. Honest dealers compete for your business / Dishonest dealers get eaten up.
I respect the dealer who says Brian I could do xx price and nothing lower. Take it or leave it. This is a dealer who may get my business at the end of the day if there in the ballpark. This process helps you find the best pricing within hundreds of miles possibly scanning pricing from 2 or 3 boarding states. Negotiating with dealerships by Emails and direct phone calls to the Internet managers will cut down on your time , dealer lies and BS. Buying a car this way helps you secure a good price before stepping into the dealership.
Use these key words it helps move the deal.
I buy immediately if we agree today holding with CREDIT CARD DEPOSIT. Do you want the sale right Now...... . Yes ...... No....... why....... what's your best price?........ goodbye
Will you fax me over the buyers order ? I will buy it right now holding with a credit card.
I'm shopping for the best price and the 1st dealer to meet my price I will buy today.
I have contacted/ emailed 25 dealerships but want to buy from your dealership. ( lol )
I will be buying by the end of this month unless my price is meet TODAY .
Does your dealership want the sale today.?
I can travel further away for my price but want to buy local. Do you want the sale.? Do you really want to lose this sale to Joe's Honda etc. Always name other dealerships. This puts the pressure on them. If you don't push these guys they will treat you like every un-educated buyer. Beat them at there own game. It works trust me
Dealers in other area's are at xx price you need to up your pricing or you will lose my business. I'm buying buy Dec,31st. Do you want the sale today?
I would rather buy from your dealership then traveling xx miles to buy.
I would like to buy from my home dealership then give my business to xx dealership.. Then name another dealership or two .
Do you want the sale today. key wording like this puts you in charge of the negotiations and gives you the upper hand and leverage in pricing. Make each dealer commit to a price if they are not meeting your price. If a dealer cant give you his best price that moment move on. Remember you just told dealer your buying that moment.
Always be direct and let each dealerships internet manager or his team know... You all sell the same product whether I buy 10 miles or 100 miles from my house does not matter. I could service this car under warranty at any Honda dealership.
Have fun .....................good luck ........Merry X-mas to all
Hey Brian I am now considering an 2015 EX-L v6 (before I was just considering a EX-L) I am down into the low 26's with destination on that about 2400 below invoice of 28,710. OTD should come out somewhere in the 29's.
Question is now that I am approaching 30's for a honda accord, I am considering a 2015 Acura TLX. But apparently those have been selling like hotcakes, and it is brand new model. Would you use the same negotiating techniques. I find that negotiating with Acura is vastly different from dealing with honda.
What I am considering to go against the ex-l v6 is the following.
Base 2.4 TLX invoice 30,388 was quoted 31020 from a dealer Base 2.4 tlx tech invoice 34118 was quoted 34568 from a dealer 3.5 V-6 tlx invoice 34,298 was quoted 34798 from a dealer
I have just gotten a flyer from a local Acura dealer that they are doing a special till 31st for $1000 of "Invoice provided by Acura XXXXX dealer"
In a state of headaches trying to crunch numbers between honda a acura.. But I was thinking the Acura brand is made with more premium materials and would be a much quieter ride then the honda.
It was a very good deal as per edmunds invoice price. Didn't get any accessories and didn't qualify for 0.9% APR (Got 3.1% APR!!). Nevertheless fantastic deal
Wow (23392 invoice)- 20700 = 2692 off invoice Great deal!!
From people that have bought in the past, end of the year type deals, is this something that happens every year for a new model year deal to be 2.5k below invoice?
2015 Honda Accord EXL Sedan V4 MSRP : $29,240 Got Out of the door price (includes everything) for $25800 (24100$ + Taxes 980 + 280Reg+ doc fees 499)and 0.9APR/60mos

This is in Northern Virginia. if you need any help, just message me and I can forward the information, I bought then 1 week ago, you can negotiate another-300-500$ $ low now.

Acura is the luxury vehicle division owned by Honda Motor's. Same rule applies if your buying a Acura model or a Accord . A 2014 model will be a lot cheaper than a 2015. Pricing On the Acura will not be discounted like a Accord.
On your Accord numbers. Excellent pricing right now on the 2015 model. Any extra $$ you could squeeze out of the dealers is Icing on the cake.

I wanted to keep you updated on my progress with the 2015 Accord base hybrid thus far. I wrote and called various dealers. The bottom line and best offer to this point is $26,900 incl dest and various fees. Excludes tax & DMV. I am holding out until tomorrow as I still have some follow ups to make. My goal is to reach $26,500 which would align with the budget!
Please let me know if I am missing something, and your thoughts to this point?
Thanks so much again. After so many years of negotiating for cars, and getting burned out, you helped give me the push and motivation I need!
You are giving yourself the best chance to reach your target price. At the end of the day if you need to adjust your price do so knowing you made the best possible deal in your area.
Brian, thank you for your response. I am located in Sacramento, CA.

Brian, I have been trying several dealerships and I think more than half of them are already aware of me and they are not responding to my emails. On the contrary I have one offer for 15 Civic Hybrid for $21430 + TTL. The MSRP is 25.5K; INV is $24K. What do you think of this pricing? Plz advice. Thx again for your help.
So where are you at price wise with the other vehicle. You should be calling dealerships like I posted. Emails get you only so far in the negotiation process. direct phone calls is how you ax these dealers off .One by One saving the counter offers then holding out and deciding which price you want to except .
The 2015 Civic hybrid's base model is the L4 cvt..
Invoice price is $22,974. Plus destination = 820 totaling 23,794
If destination charge was included in your 21,430 that puts you at 2364 below dealers invoice price
If not its 1544 below dealers invoice price on the 2015 hybrid model.
1st deal is a Super deal / 2nd is very good. There are no cash incentives on this model right now.
Seems like @aj125 is in the process of buying his 2015 Accord for over 2500 below dealers invoice. Some buyers have done very well yesterday and today.
AJ what were you thinking trying to squeeze dealers another 1000 dollars. LOL
Brian, I took your advice and did try calling some of the dealerships as soon as I got out of work but unfortunately none of my friendly dealers(whom I was in contact via email) did not pick my calls and it may be because they must all be really busy. I knew this because one of the dealer's internet manager told me that he will get back to me later as they are super busy right now. I will continue calling them again tomorrow morning to see if I can make any progress. I am slowly losing hopes To answer your question for 15 CIVIC EX, the best offer I have is $18.6K + TTL.

Price was $20,632. OTD $22,283.
Thanks to everyone for the advice.
Thank you so much for all your good work on this forum.

Car price was 21700.46
Doc fee 80
sales tax 1960.24
electronic vehicle registration or transfer charge = 20.50. ( i dont know what this is can someone explain for me plz?)
vehicle license fee 141
registration 101
CA tire fees 8.75
Total was 24011.95
with .9%financing it was 24574.20
Was it a fair deal?

Any help you could give, I'd be grateful.
Best,
Elizabeth
Thanks for all the information on this forum. It helped me immensely to choose better price on my new car. I just bought 2015 Accord sport CVT:
Selling price: $20,700 (destination fee included)
Doc fee: $250
Tax: $1,417 (6.75%)
Title fee: $48.5
OTD: $22,401.95
It was a very good deal as per edmunds invoice price. Didn't get any accessories and didn't qualify for 0.9% APR (Got 3.1% APR!!). Nevertheless fantastic deal

Finally i have sent out the emails to most of the dealers (8) in my area for 2015 Accord Touring.
Thanks and Appreciate all of your help.

Hi Brian,
First, thank you!
Elizabeth

How was this deal everyone?
Hey Brian I am now considering an 2015 EX-L v6 (before I was just considering a EX-L)
I am down into the low 26's with destination on that about 2400 below invoice of 28,710.
Base 2.4 TLX invoice 30,388 was quoted 31020 from a dealer
Base 2.4 tlx tech invoice 34118 was quoted 34568 from a dealer
3.5 V-6 tlx invoice 34,298 was quoted 34798 from a dealer
I have just gotten a flyer from a local Acura dealer that they are doing a special till 31st for $1000 of "Invoice provided by Acura XXXXX dealer"
In a state of headaches trying to crunch numbers between honda a acura.. But I was thinking the Acura brand is made with more premium materials and would be a much quieter ride then the honda.
Let me know what you think. Thanks
I bought the car from Fairfax Honda in Northern VA.
Selling price: $20,372 (includes destination fee)
Title/Filing fees: $60.74
License fee: $83.50
Taxes: $848.76 (4%)
Processing fee: $585
OTD: $21,950
Thanks for the help!
Auto sport invoice 23392
manual invoice 22662.

From people that have bought in the past, end of the year type deals, is this something that happens every year for a new model year deal to be 2.5k below invoice?

As long as you know the dest/ charge is included or has to be added to the agreed sales price it wont matter. its up to you. I would take your models invoice price then minus 500 off that price. this number is your target price. if you add the 820 dest charge make sure dealer is aware of this so your both on the same page.

Hi Brian,
I wanted to keep you updated on my progress with the 2015 Accord base hybrid thus far.
Gratefully,
Elizabeth
You are giving yourself the best chance to reach your target price. At the end of the day if you need to adjust your price do so knowing you made the best possible deal in your area.
happy new year.

I have been trying several dealerships and I think more than half of them are already aware of me and they are not responding to my emails. On the contrary I have one offer for 15 Civic Hybrid for $21430 + TTL. The MSRP is 25.5K; INV is $24K. What do you think of this pricing? Plz advice. Thx again for your help.

To answer your question for 15 CIVIC EX, the best offer I have is $18.6K + TTL. I am trying to see if I can round it off to $18K. What do you think about this deal?
Your 2015 Hybrid Civic prices are at 1500 or 2300 below invoice price depending on destination fee.
Your Civic Ex price is 1000 below dealers invoice price.
