When available, could you post the March MF and residual for 2015 GLK350 4MATIC, 15K/36 mos? Thanks in advance. I'm in NJ. Also, could you confirm the MB Financial bank fee? Is there any scenario where that can be waived? Coming out of a Volvo lease through US Bank...

    .00113 MF and 56% residual.

The base acquisition fee is $795, with dealers permitted to mark-up by $300 maximum.

    No waivers.

What is the breakdown of the $4500 due at signing? We don't recommend making any sort of down payment on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

    36/15 lease numbers are .00113 and 56%

Thank you very much for your advice. I am asking for the breakdown of $4,500, but they are telling me I am getting not a good deal, I am getting an excellent deal. Does not sound like a good deal from what you are saying. What would be a good lease price on this vehicle? I do not know how to calculate based on MF and RV. Is there a calculator somewhere? Please help.

Thank you for the information on the GLK250. Would you please give me the RV/MF on 36/10K too on the GLK250. Also what is the average percentage off MSRP for MB? I am trying to get a decent negotiated price on $50010 GLK250 and I know that I can do a lot better than TMV.

    Hi,
    Was just quoted 69% for 24M/10k with a MF of 0.000759 for a 2015 GLK350.
Did my dealer mess up the quote?
    This is in CA.

If the GLK is RWD, then the residual is correct. Residuals for RWD are 1% lower than AWD

.00107 is the base MF for the 2015 GLK350 RWD. I've never seen a money factor go out to six digits past the decimal point, so I'd say that is a typo.

Is it I'll advised to put $1000-$1500 down to lower the payments? I know in case of a totaled accident I will not recover that, but isn't that somewhat rare? How big is the risk actually?

Only you can assess the risk. We recommend against it.

Every $1000 lowers your payment on a 36 month lease by $28/mo.

I have one more question. (Sorry this is my first lease.). Should I pay the taxes, TTL and fees up front or roll them into the payments. I was told the only thing I HAVE to pay is the first month.

The money factor is correct, but they are wrong on the residual. 56% is the 15K/yr residual.

How sales tax is handled depends on the state.. For some states, it's better to pay non-taxable fees upfront, to avoid them being taxed in the payment. Otherwise, I like to roll everything in.

I thought he had cheated me on the residual, because at first when I insisted on knowing the sales lady related .00178 MF and 58% Residual on a 12k lease. But I insisted upon the .00113 and told them to run my credit, that I was top tier and deserved it. So then when she went back in. The F&I manager agreed to the lower MF, but then he juggled the numbers because the payment was still too high. I knew that because I had done all my calculations before going and had my paperwork with me. So I told the sales lady that I wanted to speak with the F&I manager. When I got into his office I told him something was off in the calculations because the payment was too high, and explained my calculations to him from my paperwork. When I mentioned the 58% residual he said "No it's 56%." I told him that they had told me it was 58% when I specifically asked. He then said the residual is set by Mercedes-Benz and pulled out his printed pages with the lease terms. He flipped to the page on the GLK and read it off "36 months GLK 4MATIC 56%. When I asked to see it he showed me 1/2 of the page with that info on it and hid the other 1/2 page under the turned back pages. I asked him why he was covering part of the page, was there something he didn't want me to see? He responded "this is not for customers" and showed me the front where it said something about internal use--then insisted that the correct residual is 56%. Of course at this point the sales lady chimed in that she must have gotten it wrong. The higher payment then made sense to me and I agreed. Looking back now I see how the high pressure situation caused me not to press the issue, when I should have told him that I had inside information on the rate and if he didn't give me 58% I was leaving.

What benefit do they get by lowering the residual? They MUST make more money by doing so! But how?

The dealer is not allowed to modify the residual. At all. It is set by the bank. Not sure why they were playing games with you on that.

I just looked again. 56% is for 36 months, 15,000 miles per year. 58% for 12,000 miles. Period.

:@ I'm so angry! I don't understand why they are yanking my chain like that. The car won't arrive until early June. It has been allocated to said dealer and is scheduled to be built early May. I did sign (agree to) the quoted price, but the leasing terms were tentative. (He said each month terms are specified by M-Benz.). I certainly will not lease from them on any "fudged" terms! At least I have 47 days or so to figure out financing. How could/should I approach them regarding quoting/contracting the correct residual (closer to delivery)? And if you don't mind, may ask you rates again in early June.

Edit: I just realized what probably happened. Although he quoted me .00113 MF, I think he raised the money factor and then when confronted he threw 56% residual at me as a diversion and explanation for the higher payment.

If you haven't taken delivery or given them a deposit you may be able to unwind the deal and start over with a different dealer.

Just call them up... ask them to verify the residual for 36mo, 12K/yr.

Then, tell them if they insist on the wrong residual, the deal is off.

If the lease car is totaled or stolen, does the Gap Waiver Insurance cover the entire payment--taxes, fees etc--or just the depreciation? Also if all fees are rolled into the payment, is tax paid on non-taxable fees such as the title tags & Regis and the acquisition fee? (I live on VA where tax in the entire ageed price must be paid.)

GAP covers any shortfall between the insurance value of the car and the payoff on the lease. Period.

So... roll everything into the lease payment..
