Just call, ask. You can ask for photo to prove too.
The problem with DCH Paramus Honda is that they won't give a quote online.
They gave me a call and asked me what price are you looking at I told them about the quote I got from Open Honda for a Pilot EX-L with RES for 27,419.00. They told me they can beat it but they won't give me a price unless I'm going to make a deposit of $500!!!?! :confuse: If i'm in new jersey I might go there to there dealership but i'm 1,000 miles away and i won't put in my money on something i'm not certain... :P :P
They claim this BB is mostly smoke and people aren't getting the deals they're claiming. Sure would appreciate any help ..
Incentives on the 2006 Pilot are good through the end of July so you still have time.
Regardless of the size of dealership you are working with, they all have the ability to trade with another dealership.
Smaller dealerships will "probably" hit their target FASTER because they have much smaller objectives to hit.
We are already WAY over our objective. (Moderator please delete this if you feel it is unneccesary info.)
Doing an on-order trade right now is risky because it probably wont come in by the end of the incentive period. Be prepared to have a few miles on the car to get the color you want (Subject to availability)
I cannot tell you how much this forum has assisted Pilot buyers! Good job folks.
Sincerely,
The Anonymous Dealer
RBoards were somewhere around $500-600.
enjoy!

If you really need a 4wd Pilot and are not concerned about time frame, have your Local/Not local dealer do an on order trade or order the vehicle for you and you can always get the car/color you want! This applies to all 4wd/2wd vehicles that Honda offers. Southern dealers have a much larger supply of 2wd and Northern dealers have many more 4wd for obvious reasons.
Ever the Anonymous dealer
p.s. If time frame is a factor (as it obviously is for a lot of you right now... DRIVE or FLY to get the vehicle you want. Most dealers are familiar with out of state purchases and can assist you with your local taxes and registration. If you are paying cash they can send the MSO to your tax office and if you are financing they can coordinate with your tax office to collect the appropriate fees for your location. Some states are more difficult than others so be patient! There are definitly some hurdles to jump. be patient with the process as this tends to make customers agitated when it is really a learning process for each new State/Municipality/Local gov't.
Note: I really am trying to limit my involvement here but it seems like there are a lot of people in some areas not able to get the price/deal they want and everyone should have an opportunity to take advantage of the offer Honda is making!

We were able to purchase 06 pilot ex 4wd in amazon green $300 below their own internet special price of $23964 from Open Road Honda. Additional cost incurred 6% NJ sales tax, $349 4 year DMV fees, $299 doc fees. The finance manager tried to push 7.99 rate on the purchase and we threatened to walkout on the deal. We agreed on $7.25 (60 month) from HMCC.
I had a thought that I’d get a used ML500, toureg or maybe an X5, found a couple to check out, but drove to Bellevue Honda instead. Bottom line keeps coming back to I guess my trade not being worth 80% of KBB trade in value—unfortunatly I do have to deal with the trade.
Bellevue Honda guy says ‘renton honda has over a dozen complaints in the last 12 months, we’ve had none in the 3 years I’ve been here’
Anyway, I think I’m going about this all wrong and need to just sell my chevy 1st then deal with a purchase or lease by itself.
After hearing the numbers renton used and the ‘ballpark’ norm reeves used without seeing my trade, Bellevue did not even want to give me a quote, basically telling me they were 50 bucks over and that no one else would really give me the trade value that would make it work, also that the numbers posted on this board were just total bs, that the only numbers that counted on Edmonds were the tmv numbers which I guess are dealer posted, showing the average of deals they made.
Then last night, I spoke with the guy at norm reeves is ca—I just don’t want to drive my trade down 1,000+ miles and then put 1,500 miles on my new pilot [I do have to go to ca friday, then vegas for a conf.] but using a lower, more realistic price [that angered me ] for my chevy, Norm Reeves came up with 405 / month for a 36 month, 12,000 mile lease—this is vs. 450-460ish for Bellevue—a 1500-2000 dollar difference;;; I’d say the heck with it and just drive my chevy for another 6 months or a year, but I’ll need a set of tires and who knows what else service wise, the windshield has a chip in it, the registration is due, I think I’m talking myself into the 450 / month payment! Any suggestions?
Good luck and good shopping!
Thanks for all of the great posts, it’s been very helpful. I'm in the process of looking for a "2006 Honda Pilot 4WD EX-L" in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Does anyone recommend any specific dealerships in this area? I received a price quote of $28,900 plus tax and title (includes destination fee). The price seems high to me but I didn’t negotiate with the salesman yet. What is a good price for this model in the Pittsburgh area?
Any suggestions?
I looked into this for myself and will share:
Southwest.com out of Raleigh, one-way to Philadelphia...last I checked, $97.
Rent a car...$18.95, Hotwire.com.
Drive back to Chapel Hill...7 hours, Mapquest.com.
Dealers in NC argue that they do not sell 2WD because of lack of consumer interest and re-sale ability of a 2WD being problematic. Thus, they contend that buyers should buy 4WD if they ever want to re-sell.
As far as resale value is concerned they are extremely comparable. A 2wd is worth less but you also pay less for the vehilce.
The bottom line is we have customers seeking 4wd down here and they obviously have customers looking for them up there. We keep 4wd in our order bank and I hope they keep 2wd!
Anonymous dealer Out! :shades:
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Pilot 4WD EXL $26,031
Destination 550
Installed Running Boards 558
Total before tax $27,139
tax 6% 1628
Title & doc fees 123
Total Out the door $28,890
After much research in the SW Pa area, most dealers were offering 28,280 for a '06 Pliot AWD EXL. Honda Village in Greensburg, PA was the best at 27,980. You may consider making a trip to the Phila suburbs (about a 5 hr drive)I recently purchased an EXL AWD 06 Pilot from Sussman Honda in Willow Grove, Pa for 26,031 + 550 dest. Hope this helps.
Reliance (cheap flight for me) quoted 28,188 + TTL
Open Road quoted 27,129 + TTL
I'm in Dallas, so to do the Open Road deal I'd have to fly up there and drive 1500 miles back.
Houston is much more convenient, but I hate to leave a thousand bucks on the table. At the same time, flying to Jersey and finding out the deal isn't what it seems would suck too...
I have to be brief, as my twins won't be asleep for long. I live about 35 miles NE of Sacramento, CA. I went to Stockton Honda and bought a 2006 Redrock Pearl Pilot EX-L 4WD (no Navi or RES) for $26,280 today (7/4). It had 171 miles on it when I left the dealership. No accessories, no extended warranties, nothing extra. Just wanted the vehicle. I started sending out e-mails to area dealers on Saturday morning. Contacted approximately 8 dealers. Stockton had the color we wanted and they matched the best price I got from another nearby dealer, Lodi Honda. I had to drive about 90 miles from my home to get the vehicle, but the local Honda dealer in town was $1300 more and said they couldn't come down any lower.
I did as much as possible over phone/fax/e-mail before I went down there. Even so, I was at the dealership for about two hours, including vehicle inspection, test drive, financing, and final vehicle demonstration.
I feel I got a great deal. It was the color we wanted, and the price was right. I would highly recommend them to anyone willing to go to Stockton for a deal. I only dealt with two people, one in internet sales and one finance person. Great experience.
Thanks to everyone in these forums for their information, as it was invaluable. I feel I saved at least $1000 based on what I saw in these forums. I hope I can save someone else some money.
Thank You
The quote included dest fee but not TTL. I sent out emails to about 16 dealerships and he was the absolute lowest. I"ll have to drive 86 miles to get it, but definitely worth it.
