I need your advice and inputs for a good price for an EX MODEL, Standard features only particularly in CALIFORNIA or anywhere for that matter.
According to CONSUMER REPORTS - NEW CAR PRICE SERVICE REPORT:
MANUFACTURER CODE = Y F 2 8 4 7 E W MSRP = $29,645.00
INVOICE = $26,700.00 DESTINATION CHARGE = $595.00
BOTTOM LINE PRICE = $26,406.00
DEALER HOLDBACK = $889.00
dealer holdback is a percentage of the total MSRP that the manufacturer holds and then gives back to the dealer, often at the end of the year or quarter. It may vary from dealer to dealer and may depend upon other factors such as dealer QUOTAS.
In addition, Consumer Reports Bottom Line Price is the suggested place to start when negotiating...
HOWEVER, in the real world I want to find out - - - - -what are YOU paying or what should WE pay for the 2007 HONDA SUV PILOT EX MODEL 2WD.
Congrats Spursfan. Enjoy your new vehicle. Looks like it got it almost $100 below your previous qupte I picked up my 4WD on Friday .. had 20 miles when I get there and after test driving and all drove out with 37 miles. 29587 + TTL including running boards, backup sensors, floor mats,Custom H striping, cargo cover. Thanks all for your help and feedback during this whole process.
I saw your earlier post, We live in bay area and interested in buying the 4WD EX-L, and was wondering how much did you qouted (either NAV or not it's fine) and from which dealership? some of the local dealer here has the 0.9% APR 36 mos, do you get the deal also? thanks!!!!
My wife would like to get a 2007 Pilot 2WD EX-L w/RES. Any color except red and no light interior. Here is the best quote so far in Southern California.
2WD Your Special Weir Canyon Honda Internet-only Price: $29,101.73**
**Pricing INCLUDES the dealer destination charge but it does not include any additional equipment that may have been added to the vehicle you choose; pricing good for 5 days from receipt of this email.
What do you think about this deal? Do you think I can do better if we wait until July? There is no big rush.
Just bought my Pilot in Dallas over the weekend. Thanks to the postings on this forum, I was able to get what I wanted. I ended up with: 2007 Pilot EX-L with RES and the following accessories: 1. ProPackage (Wheel locks, Splash Guards, Cargo Tray, Cargo Net) 2. Tint (front windows...rear are standard) 3. Pin stripe 4. Moonroof air deflector 5. Environmental protection application (without the warranty) 6. Chrome side steps Paid total of $30,000 + TTL with everything listed and installed. Tried to offer $29,500+TTL but wouldn't except that price mainly due to the Chrome Side Steps. I Even tried walking away from the deal. Initially, dealer wanted $30,798 but I knew he had sold the same car to someone on this forum for $30,400. Dealer said Honda was offering $3000 back in October/November whereas only offering $2000 now, so don't really know if telling the truth or not. I was happy with the price I paid and just didn't want to waste anymore time shopping around. BTW, at the end of it all, he did add a $55 documentation fee, which I was a little dissapointed with but oh well. Therefore, ended up paying a total of $30,055+TTL. Thanks again for your information on this forum everyone. Greatly appreciate it. If anyone wants to know where I got it and whom I worked with, let me know.
how much did you get qouted? and what is the financing like? thank you, we are looking at the same car, and was wondering what is the pricing out there
I got the 2WD NAV EX-L. I posted my price a few posts up. Oakland Honda did me fine. I'd e-mail them a couple of times and see what quotes you get (since they are different from eac h sales person).
Received a quote of $26,813, including destination, $1,650 under invoice...good price? Is the dealer incentive still $1,500? I read in an earlier post it was as high as $2,000 at one time.
Just bought new 2007 Pilot EX 4WD (no accessories) for $25638 + Dest + doc fees from VIP Honda, NJ. This was based on their internet quote. Though buying experience was not that great, they had the lowest quote.
Just doing my part. Yesterday purchased a new 2007 Pilot EX-L 2WD - From Honda World in Orange County
$27,350 - Includes Destination
$29,807 - Out the door after tax, lic, DMV, and doc prep.
Excellent buying experience - No BS. The fleet manager was exceptional, and the salesman who took me through the car had more knowledge of the pilot than any other salesman I have seen. This is my second pilot, so I know this car like the back of my hand.
Just another note: It looks like Honda is offering either a cash discount, or the financing. I paid cash. If I was to go with the .9% or 3.9% the price would have been $1500 higher.
That seems to be the best price so far. Just goes to show you that you ever need to turn down an offer, a better one somehow shows up. By next summer they'll be giving Pilots away!
Wow! the $25,300 is for the EX 4WD, thats a good price. What dealership?
Here are the INTERNET ONLY PRICE QUOTES i received from the following dealerships: - (The price includes destination and handling charge and $1,500.00 honda discounts.)
1. WEIR CANYON = $28,491.00 2. SANTA ANA = $25,675.00 3. EL MONTE = $25,500.00 4. WESTMINSTER = $25,265.00 5. CARSON = $24,954.00
Sometimes, the hard part with INTERNET PRICE there's not much room for negotiations...
The $25,300 quote was for the model that you are looking at, 2WD EX.
I bought a 4WD EX for:
$27,456 included wheel locks, mud flaps, cross bars, and cargo mat. $45 doc fees $1,994 taxes $257 license and gov't fees
Keep working them. Are all your quotes for a 2WD EX? If so, forward the lowest price to the others to see who will work with you. Although my local dealer never gave me a written quote that beat my lowest deal, he told me to come in and he would sell me one. (He matched the lowest quote) He told me he would have to cut into his holdback, and I imagine he did.
I just saw a price for my vehicle over $1,000 less than what I paid.......like I said, future deals are not going to get worse, they only get better.
I got a quote from a dealer in Boston area for 2007 EX-L 4WD at $27833 including destination charge. But I am still hesitant because it is still more than my target price which is under $27000. The dealer told me that after the winter, the 4WD model's sale will be slowed down. Can anyone give me some advise for when is the best time to buy it? I am not in a hurry.
I got from Clair Honda. They claimed that price will be valid through Saturday, Jan. 20th. I still don't feel it is good enough, because a friend of mine bought a 2006 Pilot EX-L with Navi for $28,000+ last July. The dealer said there was a $3000 cash back at that time. I want to wait a little bit and see if I can get something close to that.
the problem is that after you get the lowest internet price you should not TRY TO NEGOTIATE FURTHER. that is the whole idea of shopping the internet. you get the best price before going to the dealership.
i have kicked out more than 1 person who tried to begotiate on my final internet price. it is insulting when someone tries to negotiate the already rock bottom price.
How do they know that it is the rock bottom price, if they don't ask for less?
When someone tells you they won't pay any more than a certain number, you quit negotiating? If so, you might be the only salesperson on the planet that works that way.
I paid $27,500 for 2007 EXL 4WD from Herb Chambers in Westboro. Purchased on the last weekend of 2006, which we heard was the best time. Best internet quote was $2000 more. I think you get better prices in person, if you've done your homework. My recommendation is to get quotes, but not from the dealer(s) that you're most likely to buy from. Use those quotes as leverage, then go to the closest and most convenient dealers with your offer in person. Shoot low, you can always get that internet price later from the other dealer.
I am trying to buy a 2WD EX-L or 2WD LX (w/leather if possible) in Chicago area. Advice from anybody who bought the car in Chicago area will be great. I've got an Internet offer for 2WD EX-L for 26,995. Seems like a good start. What do you think?
Received CarsDirect Price of $27,641 + TTL for EX-L 2WD, includes destination. Conyers Honda has promised to "beat by $300", but I've asked for an e-mail confirming drive out price. Have bought my last 2 Hondas in other cities due to Atlanta dealers habit of adding on unwanted extras. Any experience with Conyers? Anyone finding a better price for EX-L?
That $27,600 figure seems about right. I'm about to buy from Curry Honda for about that price. Anyone found significantly better before I sign the line?
After much research and negotiation, we're happy owners.
$32,116 (out the door) EX-L Rear Splashguards Tow Package Fender Flares Running Boards
First oil change is free, then $8 per oil change as long as we own the car.
Is this a reasonable deal?
We probably could have saved a $100 (or more?) if we went to Portland, or a few hundred if we purchased and installed the options ourself. We chose to do business with our local dealer since we've been happy with their service dept. in the past.
Just bought a Black EX/L RES with Tan interior. We paid 28,675 including ALL dealer fees. Worked (literally) 12 dealers against each other to get it. We also got 1200 more for our trade then anyone else would give us. That's about 5500 under MSRP AFTER the 395 dealer fee. Plus, it's perrrty!
I do not live in Chicago, however I do frequently visit. Im curious why you choose to buy a 2WD instead of 4WD vehicle especially keeping in mind your winters?
Just for referrence, Last summer I was able to pick up an '06 EXL 2WD for $25k during the $7,000 off msrp promotion.
Don't forget, they will harrass you at the Finance office for gap insurance & alarm approx $1200k? . Negotiate that into the price right now if you can...lol. I just assume, people would rather purchse an AWD so they may need to give that car away.
Thank you for your reply. I 'm trying to get 2wd model because it is more fuel efficient due to their VCM engine. Plus, believe or not Chicago is great at keeping the road clean when it snows.
I appriciate your tip on gap insurance and alarm. I will keept that in mind when I negotiate. BTW you got a great deal on your 06 pilot. I wonder if Honda will ever do the rebate again.
Did you get the pilot at the price you were hoping for (28,597)? I'm looking at purchasing an EX-L w/ Nav tomorrow in Houston, so looking at what other folks have gotten recently in Houston area (or Texas)?
I'm planning to finance some of it using the 0.9% financing special, though know I want get as good of a deal this way as it appears to be 0.9% financing or $1,000 incentive. Appreciate anyone's input on Houston area purchases recently (how much paid and where). Thanks!
I finally purchased it (Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD) at $26,800. Plus doc, reg, title, tax, it is $28,525. I am happy with the deal and the experience at Clair Honda. The doc/prep/reg/title fee they charged was a little high ($299), but compared with the whole deal, it is just a small portion.
After I did some research, I targeted my negotiation base price from $26,000, and asked each dealer who gave me a quote if they can meet my price. They came back mostly at around $28,000+. I then told them that I am not in a rush mode (I am really not) to buy it. I said if the price is not good enough, I won't go for it, I can still wait for something. Then my dealer lowered his quote to $27,833. I told them if the price can be under $27,000, I will buy it. That about it, he gave me $26,900, I said no, $26,800, DONE!
The whole process was via email until the price is getting close. Then we directly talked on the phone to settle the final price and I went to the dealer to sign the contract.
I strongly feel that the patient can win the good deal. The whole process lasted for two weeks.
seems to me like you were lucky. about 2 weeks ago honda came out with 1500 dealer cash. without that there is no way you could have bought your pilot for that price
that is true. it will be availabe through the 5th of Sept. my point was that you got in right in the nick of time. when you started your search it had just come out
I don't know if it is proper to post the dealer's name here. You can give me your email and I will send you his name. I am not sure you can get the exact deal but you should be able to get very close to it. My email is soxfan98@gmail.com
Just got an internet quote for 07 pilot LX 2WD OTD for $26,813. I just started looking. I have no clue if this is a good deal.I live in South West Florida. Basically both Lee and Charlotte County dealers are right at this internet price. Seems like for a few thousand more I could get the EX model. Is it worth it? All of these posts seems to be for the EX models. Any suggestions/advice? Feed back much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I am in Texas (DFW) and just got a Pilot 2007 (2WD LX) 2 couple of days back. OTD price $24770. The dealer had quoted $22500 and then kind of forced the pro pack and the sealant package (EPP??) for extra $600. we did not want it but were told that most cars come with it. so it was $23099 + tax + TTL + documentation.
They would not go lower than that. We could have probably got it for a few 100 bucks less if we fought one dealer against another, but we did not have time.
looks like people are getting great deals with some time and patience.
There is .9% financing from honda or about $1500 cash back. we took the loan from COSTCO as we were told that the price would be $1500 - $2000 more with the loan option. This came out a better deal with the thought that the loan could be paid off earlier.
Thank you for responding ASR1. I figured my # was overpriced. I am not in a serious hurry, but if I could get your kind of price near here I will travel to get it. I will network some more with some other dealers in Florida, and see what I can come up with.
We got it from mcdavid honda frisco. we also were working with bankston honda and mckinney, who gave pretty close quotes. however beware of their over the phone and internet quote. in all the dealers the prices were different when we went there in person.
and the price quoted for the built in options ( some seem to be there in all the cars in seems and they want u to pay for them) were different in every dealer. the worst was Lute Riley who quoted $2000 for the pro pack. so after the internet quote they added another $3000 when we went there.

I just received the following quote from internet sales/fleet manager from a Phoenix-area dealer:
$28,990 + fees EX-L 4WD.

There is .9% financing from honda or about $1500 cash back. we took the loan from COSTCO as we were told that the price would be $1500 - $2000 more with the loan option. This came out a better deal with the thought that the loan could be paid off earlier.
