Most of the Internet sites suggest the actual price of a EX-L with Nav is $31,444 (after you factor in what you think the holdback is) so if anything you're probably getting a good deal depending on whether they got some type of additional discount from Honda USA. I couldn't find anything that suggests a factory to dealer special except on the 2006 models. If there is no Nav then I'm guessing you could do better.

A couple of the dealers I've been working with have implied Honda is trying to get their dealers to move cars before the end of the year and that prices will be a couple thousand higher in Jan.
  • hondaguy67hondaguy67 Member Posts: 66
There are no incentives on Pilot 4WD's. The only incentive is on 2WD pilots in which ther is a factory to dealer cash of 800 dollars.

otherr than that there is only Holdback that factors into the pricing.

therefore in Jan prices will be the same as they are now.

Received a quote on an EX 2WD with mud guards and wheel locks for $25,700 incl. destination charge. Is this a good deal?

I am in Milwaukee and I got a quote this morning for a 2007 Pilot EX AWD for $27,699 (destination included, not including tax and title).

That's $3841 below MSRP and $800 below invoice. I've just started to look at prices so is this a good price I should jump on or just a common starting point nowadays for Pilots??

    Thanks.
  • davescharfdavescharf Member Posts: 5
Thank you for the confirmation that the holdback is the only additional cost.

Couldn't the price be different due to the new calendar year and Honda (or just various dealers) not pushing as hard to sell cars? Most of the dealers I've talked to have been non-committal about Jan pricing but one did suggest it would be closer to historical norms (meaning I won't see quotes $400 - $500 below factory invoice.

2007 Pilot EX AWD lease quote of $1089 total down includes everything; $339/month includes taxes; with mudguards, wheelocks included. 36 month lease, 15k miles per year.

Dealer claims about $900 loss on this deal.

Good deal or squeeze more? Few dealers won't go further.

    Carman? Any expert?

    thanks

Yep, that's the same price for the LX at least. We were just as astounded as you were when we saw the price.

    Congrats on the Odyssey.

And I'll extend the same about my salesman. He was great to deal with.

I just got a quote of $29,900 in South Carolina for a 2007 Pilot EX-L AWD, No DVD, No Nav. Thought I'd share it with the forum. Please respond with your comments regarding the pricing. From the research that I have done, this appears to be a good price. What do y'all think?
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
Ya gotta dig deep on these threads. I had a quote of $28,540 in CA. I don't want anyone paying more than I woulda.
  • patpilotpatpilot Member Posts: 6
Thanks justaveragejoe. $28,540 is a really good quote for CA. I have been browsing these threads for a few days now and was unable to find a comparable quote for a EX-L no nav, no dvd. Guess, I need to fine comb the posts.
  • hondaguy697hondaguy697 Member Posts: 25
are those OTD quotes??? if not that is a huge difference from there to TX!1
  • patpilotpatpilot Member Posts: 6
I should've clarified that these are dealer prices and do not include $300 documentation fees, State Tax and new Tag fees. What is the dealer quote for no nav and no dvd for an EX-L AWD in Texas? Thanks.
  • memphis10memphis10 Member Posts: 161
    Does that include Destination charge?
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
Most of the dealers were including the destination charges in their quotes. The CA DMV has a website that will calculate the TTL based on your county tax rate and gov't fees for people who live in the golden state.

What are the OTD prices in TX?
  • machaxmachax Member Posts: 6
    Hello all,

Just got an internet quote for $29,200 in the DFW area for a 2007 Pilot EX-L w/ RES (DVD). The fact that it is $1,000 below invoice suggests manufacturer=>dealer incentives, which suits me just fine.

What is not included, however, are the dealer-installed profit-makers such as:
    $300 Sport Striping
    $300 Tinting
$600 Environmental Protection Package (paint, leather coating, etc.)
$600 Honda Protection Package (wheel locks, etc.)

The above are ADP (Additional Dealer Profit) items and most of the cars on the lot have a couple or more already 'installed'. $300 for striping is clearly ludicrous. I suspect the others are equally so. The Internet Sales Manager right away said the pricing on these was "negotiable".

WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER TO BE REASONABLE PRICES FOR THESE? I'd love to hear what y'all (yes, I live in Texas) have paid or been offered. Thank you.

    Regards,
    "Machax" in the Dallas area.

Just an update. After the $27,699 price, we were able to negotiate the price down to $27,200. Probably not the greatest deal ever, but I still think $1300 below invoice is alright (God do I hate car shopping).

We pick up the Pilot on Tuesday. We were OTD at $28,165 or something of that nature. Thanks for your help averagejoe.

    Doc fee 299.50

    Total "Out The Door"= 33,186.46
I could not seem to do better in the Valley of the Sun. I hope this helps people.
  • patpilotpatpilot Member Posts: 6
I finally picked my EX-L today (Nimbus Gray Metallic). Here is the breakdown for fellow Pilot shoppers:

Base Price Given $29,461 (tint, stripe, mud flaps, cargo mat included, no other accessory)
    South Carolina Tax :$300
    New Tags: $39
    Documentation/Handling Fees: $200
Total "Out The Door" = $30,000

Hope this helps and Merry Christmas!
  • patpilotpatpilot Member Posts: 6
    Macha,
Based on my internet research, a $31,000 quote is a fairly good price with DVD. You may be able to negotiate a max of $500 (I think) depending on how the dealership is meeting their monthly/yearly sales quota and how quickly you need the car. Overall, you wouldn't be paying any more or less than the other places that I have seen. Hope this helps.
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
That is one of the best OTD deals I have seen so far for the EX 4WD. You beat my base price by 10 bucks. I have the dark red one. Cheers!
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
I had a quote for the 2WD EXL RES for $28,810. They have a lot of add-ons on that vehicle. They will be making up that $1,000 with these prices for the ADP items. If you really want all these things then work them down on these prices (check prices at H&A Accessories), otherwise request a vehicle without these ADP items. Let us know how it goes.
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
Congrats! Wow, only $300 in taxes. Enjoy

Rock Honda rocks. Got the best OTD over the phone quote from Rock Honda and Spreen in my area. Did my homework thanks to edmonds.com I know the TDC, The invoice and the TMV on the car. Went to Spreen because I live down the street with my money from my credit union to purchase the car, got the usual let me talk to my manger, will have to include TTL. Snathed my loan paper from the so called manager and walked out. Called G. my man at Rock Honda repeated my quote emphasing OTD, he said no problem. Went in next day, purchased my car at best price in the IE.
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
What are the details of the deal.
  • taiyelojataiyeloja Member Posts: 5
I had to add this to my earlier message. Did not have enough room to say everything about Rock Honda. G. was great, he called me several times to find out if I have bought the car yet. Put a rack on my new honda with discount the day I bought the car. In the market for a Honda? try Rock Honda in Fontana, you will not regret it. As first time new car buyer, I am very happy with my purchase. Rock Honda made my family's Christmas and New Year. By the way, I meant to write snatched in my earlier posting not snathed. Should have checked my spelling.
  • taiyelojataiyeloja Member Posts: 5
Deal details. 25,000.00 OTD. 374.00 full roof rack installed. Best price in the IE. Goodluck.

    Hello [patpilot], [justaveragejoe],

Thanks for the replies. The suggestion to check prices on H&A Accessories was a good one. I double-checked on other similar sites as well. The dealer's ADP list prices are confirmed as "stratospheric".

I'll let you know how this pans out.
    Cheers,

Whats the best price for side stepper for pilot?
  • lok888lok888 Member Posts: 1,788
I got a quote for $26834.00 from a local Honda dealer with huge selection to choose from. It looks like the price is better than the one I got two weeks ago for $27.3K, $27.5K or higher from other dealers. Isn't it the year end sales event? Is this a good deal? How much do I expect to pay more for a running board installed? It sounds like a $500 accessory option. Thanks!
  • justaveragejoejustaveragejoe Member Posts: 268
That appears to be the best deal that I have seen so far (even better than mine) ;) . Does that include destination? Running boards retail for $575 or at H&A for $440. You should be happy that you've got good deals there in bean town.
  • lok888lok888 Member Posts: 1,788
Yes. Destination fee is included. I will probably make a deal today.
  • davescharfdavescharf Member Posts: 5
We decided to buy the Pilot EX-L w/Nav. We bought in Minneapolis and paid the following

Price: $32,107 (destination included so about $400 under factory invoice)
    Title and License costs: $542
Taxes: $1800 (tax on amount after our trade)

We only have 3-4 Honda dealers here in town that sell the Pilot. All were pretty close to the same price and offered similar values for our trade in. We chose to purchase from Luther Hopkins Honda based on the service we received (the salesperson was very up front about everything) and they had our first choice of color.

Sounds like some people are getting slightly better deals elsewhere in the country but I'm pretty sure this is the best we could get in this area.
  • memphis10memphis10 Member Posts: 161
Which dealership? Any idea how much they are selling the LX 4wd for?
  • lok888lok888 Member Posts: 1,788
Lowest for LX 4WD was $23999 about two weeks ago. I would think we can get a LX 4WD in $22K price range. I think many are selling them aggressive low right now. I'd take the EX for $2.8K to $3K more. EX has a lot more nice features than LX.
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
You know how much the EX-L 4WD price is up there .. both with/ without NAV? What is your final OTD with ttl ? thanks.
