A couple of the dealers I've been working with have implied Honda is trying to get their dealers to move cars before the end of the year and that prices will be a couple thousand higher in Jan.
otherr than that there is only Holdback that factors into the pricing.
therefore in Jan prices will be the same as they are now.
That's $3841 below MSRP and $800 below invoice. I've just started to look at prices so is this a good price I should jump on or just a common starting point nowadays for Pilots??
Thanks.
Couldn't the price be different due to the new calendar year and Honda (or just various dealers) not pushing as hard to sell cars? Most of the dealers I've talked to have been non-committal about Jan pricing but one did suggest it would be closer to historical norms (meaning I won't see quotes $400 - $500 below factory invoice.
I hear they are priceing their cars at cost on some models...or at least like you said well below invoice in OTD prices.
Ill be going to Gunn either today or tommorrow. now i just gotta figure out what I want
these are car prices...not OTD.... for pilots

Dealer claims about $900 loss on this deal.
Good deal or squeeze more? Few dealers won't go further.
Carman? Any expert?
thanks
Your ideal deal would be tremendous..but not sure attainable.
I got quote for 2007 Pilot EX (no leather) AWD 15k miles, 36 months, for $1089 total down includes everything), $339/month includes taxes, with mudguards, wheellocks.
Thoughts?
Congrats on the Odyssey.
And I'll extend the same about my salesman. He was great to deal with.
good luck to all in your shopping
Just got an internet quote for $29,200 in the DFW area for a 2007 Pilot EX-L w/ RES (DVD). The fact that it is $1,000 below invoice suggests manufacturer=>dealer incentives, which suits me just fine.
What is not included, however, are the dealer-installed profit-makers such as:
$300 Sport Striping
$300 Tinting
$600 Environmental Protection Package (paint, leather coating, etc.)
$600 Honda Protection Package (wheel locks, etc.)
The above are ADP (Additional Dealer Profit) items and most of the cars on the lot have a couple or more already 'installed'. $300 for striping is clearly ludicrous. I suspect the others are equally so. The Internet Sales Manager right away said the pricing on these was "negotiable".
WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER TO BE REASONABLE PRICES FOR THESE? I'd love to hear what y'all (yes, I live in Texas) have paid or been offered. Thank you.

"Machax" in the Dallas area.
We pick up the Pilot on Tuesday. We were OTD at $28,165 or something of that nature. Thanks for your help averagejoe.

Based on my internet research, a $31,000 quote is a fairly good price with DVD. You may be able to negotiate a max of $500 (I think) depending on how the dealership is meeting their monthly/yearly sales quota and how quickly you need the car. Overall, you wouldn't be paying any more or less than the other places that I have seen. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the replies. The suggestion to check prices on H&A Accessories was a good one. I double-checked on other similar sites as well. The dealer's ADP list prices are confirmed as "stratospheric".
I'll let you know how this pans out.
Cheers,

Price: $32,107 (destination included so about $400 under factory invoice)
Title and License costs: $542
Taxes: $1800 (tax on amount after our trade)
We only have 3-4 Honda dealers here in town that sell the Pilot. All were pretty close to the same price and offered similar values for our trade in. We chose to purchase from Luther Hopkins Honda based on the service we received (the salesperson was very up front about everything) and they had our first choice of color.
Sounds like some people are getting slightly better deals elsewhere in the country but I'm pretty sure this is the best we could get in this area.
