Thank you for the experience you shared,it seems to be fruitful,we appreciate a lot, well, i am at present shopping around for a 2007 pilot,4wd LX,and have some pretty decent prices and wonder whether i should allow dealers to make some money,
LX-$25889 OUT THE DOOR[INCLUDING ALL] if you think thats a good deal in illinois,i probably would go ahead,or am illing to try different destinations, thank you for the time.
Thanks for taking time,i have couple of offers for the Honda Pilot 2007 4WD LX ,at the chicago nw suburban dealers and am not quite sure to go ahead and willing to get some good prices including all,i have a good credit,i am even very fond of the EX model given the prices are affordable, thanks a lot for the time, take care, jaden
Nah, we don't need to make a profit to stay in business.
i am extremely sorry if you took the phrase in a different meaning, that sent a wrong impression,i would be glad to take back m comment, just curious about the prices, thanks and sorry again.take care
or maybe a screw is lose
I sent you an email earlier, I hope you received it.
Anyway that price sounds to me like it does not include your taxes. at the "dead Nuts" price you are something like 27k OTD.
please check with that dealer to make sure they quoted you correctly, or that the Pilot is not an 06.
good luck and look for my email.
What is recommend way for someone to negotiate remotely with a dealer if a trade-in is involved? so that you can "secure" a guaranteed minimum trade-in before driving the distance? The last thing I'd want to deal with is someone trying to haggle at last minute.
How have others done this?
Been working the dealers in the Bay Area (Silicon Valley) very hard. Trying to get the best deal on a 07' Pilot 4wd EX-L w/NAV. Results so far: MSRP $35,445 ; Base Invoice $31,912 ; Sale Price $31,763 ; OTD $34,709.
Can't get any dealers in my area to go lower than that. Any suggestions or feedback at this point would be MUCH APPRECIATED ! Does this sound like a reasonable price?
That said, you may wind up paying $3000 (net) or so more than one of the more numerous ex-l or ex models. I have some friends with the $400 Best Buy Navi installed, so unless there is some big advantage.....
Check out my message 3863 on the CRV-Forum and go from there for useful info on buying a car. Fax or email 30+ dealers (Navi with color pref may be rare) with your requirements toward the end of the month. Give your cell, the fact you are getting 20 bids, and will definitely buy before Dec 31. See where the bidding goes. Perhaps you will find 2 or 3 who really want to move a car.
Since the Pilot and the Ridgeline wholesale about $10000 from list 1st year, I would want at least $5500 off, or I would really really want one. Honda never does the rebate gig, and what incentives there are are usually played close to the chest to give their dealers maximum flexibility.
To clear out the 06's they were generally offering $6500-$7500 off MSRP to move them off the lots to just about anybody with credit or cash. (Check out July and August Discussions) The entire SUV segment was offering big discounts in 06 and the scenery hasn't changed much.

I went to Carmax and got a quote that was good for 7 days and 300 miles (if memory serves). Most dealers will get close to the Carmax number, and if they won't, you know what you can get, so you just remove the trade from the deal. The only impact in most states is sales tax, but that only amounts to a few hundred dollars in most cases. Good luck with your purchase.

Everyone has a different idea of what condition their trade is in. We really need to look at it, make phone calls ect.
All I try to find out, if I'm driving a long distance to visit them, is if they are indeed using Galves (or, if not, what book are they using?). I can get that number myself, so as long as I know that's what we are working from, there's no problem making the drive.
Having said that, however, I can understand the problem from the dealers perspective not wanting to give numbers on the phone for fear of that person who "forgets" to tell them it had a $20k accident 2 years ago and now they are making a big scene in the showroom because the number on the phone was entirely different.

All of my quotes are good until the end of December and one of the dealers suggested the Pilot would have a price increase on Jan 1st. I was wondering if anyone knew about that or if there was news about the size of the increase, etc.
I was also wondering more generally if there's anytime early in 2007 when Honda would be offer incentives on the Pilot. Given that it's a popular car I wasn't sure if that was the case, but do they generally offer incentives early in 2007 to start moving the new cars?
I doubt you would. Anyway the best you can ask for is a range of prices they will give you. But you must be honest with them about the condition of your car. If you show up and your car is not exactly what you said it is there will be issues.
good luck to you,.
and no there are no incentives on the 07 Pilots
Also when is next round of Honda financing (purchase, not lease) due to be released?
I would not expect any dealer to stand by any offer prior to them physically inspecting the car. Would you buy a used car without inspecting it first?
Any thoughts? Will be closing the deal soon.

MSRP $34700
Paid $29917
$1100 Drive off (first month, TT&L, and dest).
$425 month (including tax) for remaining 35 months.
Thoughts?
MSRP (including destination) -- $36,040
Invoice (including destination) -- $32,507
Price Paid (before TT&L) -- $31,000
Out-the-door price (includes $10 inspection fee, $12.50 tire fee, $2286.25 NY sales tax, $189.50 license/title (estimated), and $45 documentation fee) -- $33,543.25
Best price other dealers I called (I spoke with Internet sales managers at 5-6 dealers) in Westchester and metro NYC area were offering was $500 under invoice ($32,000). Purchased from New Rochelle Honda.
Setting the price on the trade and determining the condition, unseen, is so subjective that it gives the dealer the chance to pull the rug out from under you after you drive into his lot.
to be fair, some people think their trade is worth allot more than it really is.
make sure you get a price without trade so you can have something solid to hang on to.
But that bottom could be pretty low.
just got a good offer of $24625[includes destination fees of $595,does anyone think its a good deal,i would rather go ahead and make a deal, what do you think for a 4WD LX...guessing is it the best in chicago land????
thanks a lot for replying, and we appreciate it.the deal seems to be good and your statement can be considered tightening the screw ,is it!! or do we have to re - evaluate.just kidding, you think we should go ahead with the offer?? please reply, thanks.
You indicated that you have an interest in a 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L with navigation in the color of Nimbus Grey(stock# A570145). This vehicle has an MSRP of $36,040.00 and an internet sales price of $33,007.00 *.
I think Ive read that some are getting this NAD model for less, but if they hold to that is it a good price or can they go lower?
Currently have an 04 EX-L and love it, but time for a new one and bought it at the same dealer, think they would go lower with owner loyalty type thing?
Thanks
Not sure if we're buying this, a Highlander or possibly even a Murano but we're thinking it's a great deal if you compare it to Edmunds TMV for the Twin Cities. I don't know what they'll offer yet for our trade so we'll have to go from there.
MSRP $36040 includes destination
Invoice $32507 includes destination
OTD $34,000 - $34,450 ( different dealers) These prices includes tax, lic and destination fees.
Please, anyone who is posting here, post all pertinent information, all information or none. People use this board to negotiate and set expectations, we all owe it to each other to honest and complete.
Just pleased to say that we just drove home happy with our new Pilot, once again from RELIANCE HONDA in Lake Jackson (30mi south of Houston), this is our 2nd one this year after we totaled our first one.
We paid a driveout price of $29900 including all fees etc..
Again the customer service was just AWESOME just as the first time. I strongly recommend this dealership and their humble way to do business.
Don't forget to mention my name if you end up working with them.
regards,
Miguel
According to Edmunds.com that's $2,016 BELOW invoice. I was originally looking at a new CR-V but when I saw that price I couldn't resist. I do give up a some MPG but we now have more room and the V6 power we're accustomed to coming from a Lexus RX.
The dealership is a no-haggle, one-price shop.
Sales Price $31,200.00
OTD Price $34,097.46
Tax $2577.71(@ 8.25), DMV 274.75, Doc fees $45
I feel I got a good price but to be honest I think I could even got them to go lower. Good luck hope this helps everyone.
