Thanks Hos. Can you tell me if the price you paid $33...is inclusive of TTL + destination?
  • hakjoonhakjoon Member Posts: 11
Congratulations on your new pilot. I've got mine a month ago in Kirkland and it's dark cherry. I really wanted white one, but just like you said, the white with NAVI is hard to come by. I think you got a nice deal.
  • hakjoonhakjoon Member Posts: 11
I think he meant by $33K is destination included, but not TTL. Washington tax on new vehicle is 9.1%, which would kill all good deals compare to other states. On the other hand, Washington does not have a state tax. Hooray~

I am being offered an 07 EXL - DVD - 4wd, 36 month lease,12000 miles/year, $350 per month, $2500 down. My current Corolla lease is up in May, payoff is about $8000, Kelly Blue Book says my trade in value is about $9800. Dealer will take car as part of the deal. Am I paying too much....putting to much down...in essence $4000..right? Any advice will help...thanks.
  • qbrozenqbrozen Member Posts: 33,740
you aren't really putting $4k down unless you know for a fact the dealer is giving you $9500 for your corolla. Since you got the number from KBB, my guess is they are not giving you that much. KBB is notoriously generous with their trade-in values. My off-the-cuff guess is that your Corolla is worth right about what you owe.

ok..then i am getting a better deal than i thought right? $350 per month is prett low compared top what i have seen on this site.....Right or wrong?
  • qbrozenqbrozen Member Posts: 33,740
without knowing invoice, purchase price, money factor, residual, etc ... my initial response is that, yes, $350 per month with $2500 down on a vehicle well over $30k sounds good. If the money factor is low enough (which it probably is), you should consider putting as little down as possible and upping the payment.

Anyone heard about new factory to dealer incentives in the past week or so? I just got a quote that i think includes a $3000 F to D on the 2007 EX-L. anyone else find this?
    thanks.

Hi! Just bought a new 2007 Honda Pilot LX-4wd last week in Aberdeen Green with the Olive fabric interior. Got a great deal from DCH Academy Honda in Old Bridge, NJ. Out the door, paid $29,284, which included 2 accessories (running boards & back-up sensors), tax, title, destination, and the NJ tire fee. If you break down that out-the-door price, it's based on the LX-4wd priced at $24,826, which I believe is a sizeable bit under invoice.

After driving over 500 miles in the 1 week I've had it, I can confidently say I love my new Pilot! ;)

what makes you think there is a $3k factory cash to dealer incentive going on?

did you get a quote for $3k below invoice?
  • hoshos Member Posts: 31
hakjoon is correct. 33K includes destination charge of around $650. Tax and lic are added on top of that. Unfortunately city of Bellevue has 9.1 percent sales tax but this year (perhaps its the last year you can do this in WA unless its extended again), you can deduct your sales tax from your Federal income tax. If you don't want to keep every single receipt during the year, the gov. provides an estimate based on the number of people in your family, then you can still add high price items on top of that. Not a bad deal.

Also, Honda of Kirkland and Honda of Bellevue are owned by the same people. However I have heard from several people that Bellevue dealer is more flexible than Kirkland and are willing to work with you. I had a good experience there. If you go there look for 'MO'. He is a sales person and a nice guy.
  • hoshos Member Posts: 31
hakjoon, dark cherry is a new color and its really nice. It was my second choice. In fact I did not expect to find a white one, so I was focusing on the cherry. Good luck and enjoy your pilot.

As of right now, my research shows, there is not a dealer incentive on 2007 Pilots. There was and probably still is an incentive on 2006 models (although they are probably all sold by now). There may be incentives on the 2007 similar to the 2006, but I would think that those would not show up until summer time.

can someone post photos for black pilot with saddle lather interior.

Anyone have a recent purchase/quote on the pilot LX 2WD? I had an initial quote for $25,250. I know I can bargain it down some, but have not idea what is a good price for the trim now. I am located at south/gulf states. Thanks for sharing some information.
  • guestguestguestguest Member Posts: 3
Got quote about 31500 includes destination charge in Boston. Is it good deal?
  • pilotwannabiepilotwannabie Member Posts: 14
Thats a very good deal you got.
  • sacramentogirlsacramentogirl Member Posts: 8
I have a suspicion this may be true...
What was the quote they gave for the 2007 EX-L?
  • gssethigssethi Member Posts: 25
Toooo expensive. Aim for under 23k + TTL
  • bbutler100bbutler100 Member Posts: 3
The quotes I'm getting are not reflecting new incentives. In the Greenwich, Ct area, I'm getting prices for 2007 EX-L of 29,950 plus tax/title.

Would like to know if $3,000 is real, and if so, is it regional.
  • ppddppdd Member Posts: 2
Thanks, gssethi, but at 25K invoice, even with the 3% kickback, that only gives the bottom line of around 24K. I haven't heard about other incentives available yet. is 23K a workable price? Really have no idea how this works.

After reading several postings, I decided to call the Honda headquarters and asked about a $3000 manufacturer to dealer rebate for 07 Pilots. There are no current rebates for the 07 Pilots. This $3000 rebates, people were mentioning, were offered this past summer for the 06 Pilots only. The 07 Pilots had the 4.9% APR financing. Rebates possibly in the summer of 2007 when the newly design 2008 Pilots debut.
Another posting which I read that seem to be questionable is by guestguest who claims he was offered a 2007 Pilot EXL with Navi for $31500 destination included in the Boston area? Where is this place? Show me where.... First of all, according to the Consumer Reports Bottom Line Price Report, which I purchased for $14, this model with Navi has a dealer invoice of $32507, destination charge included in price, and subtracting dealer holdbacks of $1063, the bottom price is $31444 with dest. charge included. No dealers in any showroom would let you leave a making a mere $56 profit on you. Even if you work at the showroom they won't give you this price. If what you claim is true, please tell the mass public where is this dealer in Boston? We would appreciate that.
I purchased my 2007 Pilot EXL 4WD with Navi in the Nimbus Gray Metallic a month ago for $32307, destination charge incl, which is $200 under dealer invoice, at Bronx Honda in NYC. I made my purchased through the internet sales manager.
    I hope this info helps...
  • guestguestguestguest Member Posts: 3
Well, it is Bernadi honda in Natic, MA and I got this quote from their internet sales manager too. I signed contract this morning (31500 + 300 document fee + tax + registration ) and got that 4.9% financing. Will enjoy the car this winter. The whole process is straight forward, the internet sales manager introduced another sales person to me but he print out the price quote sent to me.
  • tmock13tmock13 Member Posts: 38
Hey, if Bernadi Honda agreed on $31500 with the dest. included, for a 07 Pilot EXL 4WD with Navi then you got a steal. Sign the contract and get the keys quickly before they try to make it up by selling you an extended warranty, or packaging some accessories for your vehicle. Good job on your part.
I will spread the word to my friends here in NYC to buy a Pilot up in Natic, MA. Thanks.
By the way, what is this $300 documentary fee? We don't have this ambiguous fee here in NY. We just add taxes and motor vehicle fees. Motor vehicle fees, if that's what it is, can't be $300?
  • guestguestguestguest Member Posts: 3
The fee shows up at the contract. I have no idea what that fee is for, but I think it is mandatory in MA. Anyone can help on this issue?
  • mikeveneziamikevenezia Member Posts: 1
I got a quote of 29,900 someodd dollars. Another 399 for remote starter. I traded in my 94 lexus ls 400 with a busted power steering pump for 2500. Does the 29,9xx sound like it is in line with what boston area buyers are paying right now? And document fees and such, I haven't hit this yet but what should i be paying for after the deal that is legit or reasonable? I heard at the end of any other person's deal about this 300 dollar doc fee... I wanted to question this practice. And lastly i was thinking for the Extended warrenty I didn't get a price on it but should i pass?
    Thanks you for any advice
    Mike
  • 4ref14ref1 Member Posts: 7
The doc fee is not mandatory in Mass. Some dealers preprint it on the purchase agreement to make it appear as such. They charge it to complete your paperwork. I have a purchase agreement that lists doc fees for warranty forms, Bill of Sale, odometer statement, contracts, inspection sticker ($29 in Mass, but what is there to inspect on a new car?). The $ varies from dealer to dealer. Most are around $100 (I paid $95 at a local Toyota dealer while another one nearby was charging $200). Luxury car dealers probably charge more. $300 for a Honda sounds high by itself, but OK if he got a good deal overall. I always ask about the fee before starting negotiating so I know if they are going to try add on $ after agreeing on a purchase price.

These prices advertised at different dealers (first time I have seen any ads for Pilots here so they might be getting overstocked):

    LX 4WD $23,988

    EX 2WD $27,940
  • sacramentogirlsacramentogirl Member Posts: 8
    Who's advertising these prices?
  • jimmyqjimmyq Member Posts: 2
I've been looking around for a Honda Pilot EX-L here in Dallas, TX. The dealerships are saying they no longer have the 2006 model so the best quote I've gotten so far is the following on a 2007.

    Is this a good deal?

Honda Pilot EX-L (No NAV, No RES)
    $28,062

Invoice on the 2007 Pilot EX-L is $29,362 so it sounds good but wondering what others are getting.

The thing is this is the first quote I got from this dealership (over email) so I'm wondering if I should counter-offer to see if they'll go lower.

    Thanks!
  • atlhd1atlhd1 Member Posts: 1
I'm shopping for 2wd ex-L in No NAV and No RES in the Atlanta area. Been going a couple of rounds with 4 different dealers. Here's the best OTD deal so far by about $500. Will be picking one up in the morning.

    28,061.00 Internet Price (INC DESTINATION)
    $ 498.00 Processing Fee
    $ 1713.54 Sales Tax at 6%
    $ 19.00 Title
    $ 3.00 GA MVWR

Jimmy, which dealer is offering you 28061? The best I found was 28631.
  • jimmyqjimmyq Member Posts: 2
It was actually $28,062 for a 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L 2WD without NAV or RES.

That was an email quote. Now I call the guy and they don't have any Pilots on the lot without the the "Protection Package" (Wheel Locks, Splash Guards, Cargo Tray, etc) - he said that'll be a few hundred more dollars.

Not sure if you care about that but just wanted to give you the heads up. I'm going there today to see what I can get without having to pay for all those extras that I don't want or need.

The dealership is David McDavid Honda of Irving

Is your 28,631 quote the final quote without the "extras"?

If so, what dealership is that?
  • harschachharschach Member Posts: 1
So I have visited several dealers, both in the city and burbs, and none of them seem willing to go below $34K out the door price (meaning including TTL). Is that waaaay too much or is it just me? Seems like everyone else is paying several thousand below that. Not sure if the Pilot's popularity is raising the price or what here but has anyone received better pricing in the area or anywhere for that matter on the exact model that I'm looking for?
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
I havent heard back yet regarding the 28631 quote and not sure if destination is included or not. Extras quoted I guess were 699 for the Pro package you mention and 799 for running boards. I will keep you updated. I think it is Bankston Honda.
  • sacramentogirlsacramentogirl Member Posts: 8
I just purchased a 2007 Honda Pilot 4WD EX-L with Nav for 30892 + TTL. I believe I received a great price, but the buying experience was terrible. The process took 10+ hrs, split between two days. If asked whether I would go back to purchase another car?? No way! I rather pay a little more and have a smooth transaction.
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
Where did you get 2007 Honda Pilot 4WD EX-L with Nav for 30892 + TTL from?
  • fubar2fubar2 Member Posts: 12
Just leased an 07 Pilot EXL w RES, 36 months, 12000 miles per year, $350 per month, $2643 total down. Got it from Castle Honda in Morton Grove, no other dealer would even discuss this kind of price with me. 2 other dealers told me not to even come in...that my price demands were insane. Not sure why Castle was able to do it. Trade in was an 03 Corolla lease, payoff was $8100, KBB value said $9000-$10000. Did everything by email...the only dealer that would qoute me without coming in. I am not sure but I beleive there is a leasing special that ends December 4.
  • bbutler100bbutler100 Member Posts: 3
Just picked mine up over the weekend. Paid $29,950 + $179 processing fee, plus tax/title.
  • ed108ed108 Member Posts: 39
Purchased for $32,000 + TTL which was about $500 below invoice. Probably could have gone a few hundred lower if I was willing to wait. In central Texas where I live, 4WD EX-L with NAV are hard to find apparently. I called every dealer within 70 miles and there were only 3 available between all of them last week. A couple said they'd dealer trade for me but since the closest vehicles were 400-500 miles away they'd charge me a delivery fee. So I figured $500 below invoice is decent and bought one.

The same dealer where I purchased was willing to sell one without NAV for $30K + TTL.

Doc fees were $45. I have read some of the other messages where people pay $300 doc fees. That is insane. A doc fee is pure profit for the dealer. This would be like going to Best Buy, buying a $2000 TV and then getting charged a $20 "Ringing you up at the cash register fee". Any time a dealer tells me there is a doc fee(or any other non-state/county mandated fee) for over $100 I walk out the door.

I purchased the Pilot at Stockton, CA. Their "sister" dealership is at Lodi. I would try Lodi and see if you can a better deal. Some of the managers at Stockton work at both Roseville and Stockton.
By the way, there's a $2000+ "dealer incentives" for the Pilot. I think it's closer to the $3000.
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
Can you tell me where you heard about the dealer incentive? there was some discussion earlier on this forum of that one and it turned out it wasnt true. But I have got mails from 2 dealers quoting me 1000 below invoice .. price of 28361. I am still deciding what to do.
  • sacramentogirlsacramentogirl Member Posts: 8
I know there's a $2000 dealer incentives because the sales person told me. I asked myself: if they are willing to take off $1000 so easily and still make a profit, how big do you think is the incentive? Also, Consumer Reports states there's a $1044??? holdback. If you're getting a quote of 28361 for a 2007 Honda Pilot 4WD EXL with Nav, then I would take it.
  • austexaustex Member Posts: 62
The 28631 is for a 07 EX-L 2WD without Nav. thats the best I have seen. I havent read/heard anybody getting anything better yet except one of them from Dallas.

whats the acquisition fee when you lease the car? I was told they will charge me $600 as acquisition fee?
  • guestguest Member Posts: 770
Funny you should mention that dealership because I spent hours dealing with them on the internet and we finalized a price. I went in to confirm in person and they said it was a go and could have the car in within an hour. I came back 3 hours later and they conveniently made a $1000 mistake on the price. Everything guaranteed via email was worthless and they completely baited me in and 5 minutes before I handed them the check, they raised the price and wouldn't negotiate at all. It was your typical scummy sales job by this dealership and will never recommend or buy from them!
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 266,109
The acquisition fee is charged by the bank that leases you the car (Honda Finance, most likely). Their base fee is $595, I think.

It is basically a revenue bump for the bank.. the dealer doesn't get any of it. I think almost every single bank/finance company in the country charges it.

McDavid Irving quoted me $30,342 for a 2007 EX-L 2WD w/ NAV today. Did you find out if they would throw out that bogus charge for a protection package?

In my reply to McDavid this evening I asked if the quoted price (plus TT&L) was an out-the-door price or if they would try to hit me with hidden charges if I agreed to a test drive. I haven't heard back yet but I'm sure I will tomorrow.

Initial quotes so far in the DFW area for an EX-L 2WD w/ NAV:

    McDavid Irving - $30,342
    McDavid Frisco - $31,839
    McKinney - $31,339
    Frank Kent - $31,683

All quotes are good until the end of this month (Thursday 11/30).
