Again, invoice on Pilot EXL AWD with Navi is $32757 (dest. already included) was offered at Nardy Honda(Smithtown), Bronx Honda, and even Hillside Honda. They will not quote you this price on the phone. I showed up at the dealership as a serious buyer ready to deal. I am looking for a 06 Pilot with Navi but they had none. So, they were more than willing to deal the 07 Pilots at invoice. Remember, there is still a $2500 dealer incentive on 06 Pilots so this is your better bet considering they are the same exact vehicle. Unless, you plan to change vehicles every three years or so, buying a 07 Pilot with no incentives offer makes no business sense. Hope this info helps.

I just got 07 Pilot EXL AWD from DCH Academy Honda. The price is a little below invoice. When I mentioned the manager who moved from open road, this manager is right there and gave me another $100 off:-) By the way, the service is pretty good there.

    How much off the MSRP?
Also, can someone help on how to efficiently find all dealers' email around 100 miles from my home? Thanks

$29599 for '07 EXL 4WD including destination sounds ok to me. Which dealer and what location?

I spent the last three days working the DC/VA/Norfolk dealers. The 2006 EXL AWD models are vitually all gone. There are still a fair number of EX models throughout and I only found one NAV.

Cheasapeake, VA dealer had 2 red EXL-AWD last night at $27.9 lowest negotiated. No other dealer in VA Beach, Hampton, Williamsburg had this model remaining.

Sheehy in Alexandria is giving no haggle quotes at $27K, but need to pull them from other dealers to fulfill.

Leesburg, Waldorf, Fredericksburg and the first Baltimore I checked with are all entirely out of 2006 models.

Fairfax Honda has a silver AWD RES at 28.9.

I ended up going with Pohanka in Marlow Heights, taking their last EXL AWD manager demo. Had 6000 miles on it, running boards, and was silver, two free oil changes and a free cargo mat = $26,019 + dest + 100 Doc fee. They still have demo, blue AWD NAV with the towing package and 5000 miles offered to me at $28.3, but there is a soft commitment on it right now.

Hope that helps anyone looking in the area...

The price I paid for 2006 2WD EXL without DVD or Navi but with moonroof visor, wheel locks and mud guards is $26,360.00 plus Title, Tax, Processing fees, etc.

The most to least available for 2006 are as follows...
2WD EXL (about 8 left at Casey Honda in Newport News, VA)
    4WD EX
4WD EXL+DVD (1 left at Checkered Flag Honda of VA as of 09/28)
4WD EXL+Navi - extremely rare (I wanted but had no luck)

I just purchased my 2007 EX-L with Navi for $31,639 (including destination charge) from David McDavid. This is $300 above invoice price. The price was negotiated over the net and the whole process was painless. I also negotiated my accessories and the extended warrantee ($961) and basically got them for the price I wanted. Rusty, the internet sales guy was easy to work with.

I did all my research before going into the dealership. I negotiated the car and accessories over the net. The only thing I had to do at the dealership was to test drive the Pilot, confirm the final price, negotiate the extended warrantee, sign all the paperwork, and take delivery of the SUV.

Like any major purchases, do your homework and have your financing ready to go before you start your negotiation process. Oh, one other thing, stay away from Lute Riley Honda! They can't stick to their word! 60 Minutes or Dateline (Investigative Report) also did a story on them a few years ago about how they scam people and looks like they haven't changed their practice. Good thing I had the common sense to walk out when they started jacking up the price even after we had already negotiated it over the phone.

    Good Luck!

ditto;good job on doing homework ahead of time.Kudos to Web sites like this that are very useful for consumers like us to see what prices others are paying to bring the dealers to the bottom line!
By the way what version of DVD ( navigation disc) does the 2007 have. I have a 2006 Pilot and my disc is version 4.31. It is still missing some streets.
You can find the disc in the box below the front passenger seat. Push the button and it will pop out just like your home DVD.

Just went over to Paragon Honda in the NYC/Queens area this past weekend. I was elated to finally have found a 06 Pilot EXL AWD with Navi in Sage Brush Pearl. I was told by the salesman that vehicle is brand new. Agreed to paid $33660.06 which includes taxes/reg/fees and destination. Today, I call back today and only to learn that vehicle is a DEMO model with 4500 miles on it. Salesman then suggested that if I didn't want it I can have the 07 Pilot AWD NAVI for $1500 under MSRP. First of all most dealers are selling around invoice in the NYC/NJ area. These guys not only got me to their showroom promising the car is available but now they tried to rip me off also. I was seething after this and promise to report them to the Better Business Bureau. To all potential buyers, beware of Paragon Honda in Long Island City, NY.

I had similar bait and switch tactic in Calif. A local dealer quoted me a low price for silver '06 Pilot AWD/EXL w/Navi. I told him to hold it for me and as I was driving in he called back on my cell phone and said it was "swapped out" to another dealership. He shouldn't have even offered it on our phone conversation if he didn't have the vehicle.
As it turns out we bought a metallic blue one which my wife likes better ( but not at the same low price) I think they do this switch and bait routine to get you into their showroom ( said the spider to the fly)

Just bought a 2006 EXL 4WD Pilot today with Nav system. One of only four 2006s left within 60 miles. Price: $29,500 + $498 dealer shipping and fees. Taxes run about 7.6% so it was out the door for $32,277 complete. Dealership: Planet Honda in Denver.

Took less than hour and I know we would not have gotten as good deal without doing some homework here first. So, thank you all for your postings. It really helped.

if you want an idea of what the '08 Pilot will look like then look no further than the '07 CRV. Yes the Pilot is bigger, but it will no doubt have many of the lines that the CRV has adopted - it's nice looking imo

I just bought a 2007 Pilot EXL with Nav for $30300 plus $400 in Doc fees. It took a lot of work and time but this is under invoice. I got a really aggressive internet quote and then fought to make sure they did not erode the deal by adding extra fees. Two dealers, when pressed, agreed to match but when push can to shove, at least one- Curry Honda reneged.

We bought a 2007 Pilot EXL AWD w/Nav for $32607 plus $159 Doc fee last week. We did our homework and got internet quote from 5 honda dealers around here. St Louis Honda offered the best price but didn't have one with our favorite color. So we went to Ed Napleton Honda first because they have the color we want and we were told they would match other dealers' price. But we had very bad experience there. They insisted to sell us $1000 optional parts. We didn't want them so basically they just shake hands with us saying bye-bye. It's 5:00 pm and we were very upset, however, we were still in buying mood. So we went to the St Louis Honda, arrived there 5:40 pm and drove the car out there a little bit after 6 pm. Painless and smooth. We are very happy with the new car

I've found the site at "carbuyingtips.com" very helpful when considering the purchase of a car. Even experienced buyers may pick up a few pointers. We love our 2005 Pilot and my wife is the primary driver. Good luck.

Hello that is awesome. I am in the Atlanta area and am looking for a Pilot. Is this a 2WD. Is the 30,300 invoice or your negotiated price. If you don;t mind my asking did you pay any other fees and what did the Pilot cost you on the road (i.e. is the 30,700 include taxes).
Finally what dealer did you finally buy from and do you have any tips.

Thanks in advance for your help.
  • peterfarpeterfar Member Posts: 4
I got the car at Carey Paul Honda in Snellville. The $30,300 includes everything but the 7% deKalb county tax and $400 doc fee. The invoice price is substantially higher.

We had agreed on $30,700 including the doc fee by email quote. When I got there, they then tried to charge me for wheel locks and clear coat etc. When I refused
they tried to charge me the doc fee again. I walked out . The next day, they called and said $303000 plus $400 doc fee. Be careful about extras and whether the doc fee is included when you negotiate with them and be agressive. They use time as a weapon so bring a book or IPOD. Once we finally agreed on this price everything was very smooth.
Theey also gave me a fair price on my trade in. It was $220 over a fair Car Max price.
Curry Honda low balled me on my trade. They did
agree to match the Carey Paul price. When I said I can do the deal without trade in ,they reneged on matching the Carey Paul price.

Gwinett Honda also asked for a copy of Carey Paul price and offered to match it. I never had to see if they would honor their match. Get as many email quotes as you can first and then with something in writing, you can get other dealers to match or beat it.

I am planning to buy the Pilot 07 EX-L RES in IL. I know there was a dealer discount of $3000.00 in July for 06 and since there is no difference in 06 and 07 models, I would like to know if the same discount is available now for 07's.

Let me know the best OTD price in IL currently offered.

    Thanks in Adavance.

Just purchased the 07 Pilot EXL 4WD NAVI in the new color Nimbus Gray Metalliic today at Bronx Honda. Invoice for this car is $32507 with destination included. After haggling about a half hour with my Consumer Report Bottom Price Report, cost $14, on hand we agreed on $32307. That is $200 under dealer invoice. Keep in mind destination of $595 is included in price. I have done my research and not too many dealerships are giving under invoice pricing. Looking forward to enjoying my Pilot for years. Hope this info helps.

i mean really - have you even read what you wrote and how you wrote it?

if you want to know the "best OTD price currently offered in IL" might I suggest you start e-mailing out some bid requests? And maybe even talk to some dealers and then do us all a favor and tell us how it went.

Wondering about the price you noted for 2007 EX AWD $27,800. Do you have a dealer name and location that is offering this price? Would love to know it!

In NJ, I bought a 2006 Pilot LX for $24,000 (everything included)in August. A colleague bought the Pilot EX-L with a sun roof for $26,300 in August. Many NJ dealers have INTERNET pricing.
  • sherbrooke8sherbrooke8 Member Posts: 11
Agree - internet pricing is the way to go.

Also in NJ - July 28 - Edmunds "Get Dealer Pricing" 2006 Pilot EX-L AWD (no nav/no RES) $25,888 plus $550 dest etc - was $3,842 below invoice and $7,157 below MSRP - benefited from $3,000 dealer incentive.

With dealers responding to internet Edmunds "Get Dealer Pricing" followed up with emails and/or phone call to dealers to confirm model (example - make sure AWD not 2WD etc) and availability of color - there is little reason to walk in to dealer without price being finalized.

Go to dealer without finalized price - and the buying process becomes arduous - very painful - the dealer has time on there side - and they like to make people wait.

One other thought - said no thank you to extended warrantee - felt like a lot of money - particularly for a Honda - last Civic I owned went to 152,000 miles and would not break.

Again, dealer invoice is $32507 (destination of $595 is included in price) for the 07 Pilot EXL 4WD with Navi. I got mine for $200 under the dealer invoice plus the 4.9% financing, from American Honda Finance, at Bronx Honda. Avoid Paragon Honda and Hillside Honda in Queens. They charge exorbitant DMV fees and misc. fees. Also, the salesman at these dealerships are pushy and agressive. I shooked their hands and walked out. Hope this helps.

I'm going to start negotiating with several dealers in the Houston area on a 2007 Pilot EXL 4WD with NAVI and accessories. I'd like to just pay invoice on the Pilot, but wasn't sure what to ask for on the accessories. Does anyone know how much they are marked up? I was thinking of asking for them at 15% off MSRP (including installation). Does that sound fair or am I asking for too much?

Any advice on good Houston dealers to work with?

For accessories, I'm looking to get the trailer hitch (trailer hitch, PSF cooler, ATF cooler, trailer hitch harness, hitch ball), side steps, rear splash guards, all-season floor mats, cargo cover, and cargo tray.

I also have a 2000 Xterra trade-in that I hope to get a good value on.

I would suggest Reliance Honda in Lake Jackson, about 40mile from Houston. I got my 2006 pilot from them back to July. Search Reliance in this forum, you will find a lot history about them and feedback. You may find good deal with them, please do mention this website. They knows,..... :D

I don't know if you still visit this site but if you do can you tell me if you bought a 2006, as this is a great price and I am plannign to use Ed Voyles for a 07 Pilot EXL 2WD.

Thanks in advance for your help.
  • abahriabahri Member Posts: 4
I just got mine 2007 Pilot EXL 4WD with NAVI with no accesories at Invoice, + 4.9% financing (though I did not qualify for it).

As for accesories - I would suggest you also look up estore.honda.com. You may be able to order online for installation by your delaer at more than 15% below MSRP, with no haggling!

Also, the price is different for each dealer, so find the estore price for all your local dealers, use that as another data point in your negotiations.

Some accesories like floor mats, cargo tray etc - you can buy them cheaper at http://www.handa-accessories.com which is a Honda dealer selling then cheaper (even after youa dd shipping). You don't need topay $99/hr labor for the dealer to put floor mats for you!

    Hope that helps!

I'm looking to sell my 2004 EXL Navigation Pilot. 25000Mi, never any problems. Side steps, grill guard, remote start. Sticker price was $35000. How much should I ask for on street or as trade in?
  • outdoorenthoutdoorenth Member Posts: 4
Thank you. I'll look up Reliance Honda and add them to my list when I email the Houston dealers.
  • outdoorenthoutdoorenth Member Posts: 4
I'm looking to get the 4.9% financing too. I'll have a back up 5% financing already with my credit union when I email the dealers.

Thanks for the advice on accessories. I'll check out estore.honda.com and the other website you provided and see what prices they have.
  • peterfarpeterfar Member Posts: 4
It was a 2007 EXL with navi. Never checked Ed Voyles. Get internet quotes-- particularly from Carey Paul at the end of the month, to use for negotiating power.
  • aspesisteveaspesisteve Member Posts: 833
i'll take a stab at your trade in value, which by the way is allot less than private party re-sale value.

1st off, forget sticker - only suckers pay "sticker".
I would say deduct $9k from the invoice price of your car for private party or $24k is what it's worth. Asking would of course be around $25. As for trades - lets just say get reddy to be insulted - they probably wouldn't give you more than $22 is my guess.
  • tmock13tmock13 Member Posts: 38
Cheapest honda accessories found are at https://www.accessories-honda.com/store/index.php.

They are even cheaper than the website you mentioned http://www.handaccessories.com/

Go and compare for yourself. I ordered all my accessories from them.
  • abahriabahri Member Posts: 4
    Thanks tmick13!

Yes, https://www.accessories-honda.com/store/index.php. has great prices too!

Here are the 3 reasons I went with http://www.handaccessories.com/

    1. They have no restocking fee vs 20% for the site you mentioned - just in case you have to return something
    2. They are an actual Honda dealer!
    3. They gave me a BETTER rate, including shipping. I ordered rear splash guards and wheel locks - paid $64.75 + $8.53 shipping = $73.28. Your suggsted site give it to me for $63.00 + $17.73 shipping = $80.73.

That being said, I would suggest checking both sites for the total Delivered cost! One may be cheaper for one person but expensive for another - based on where you live and what you buy!

    But I appreciate your response!

I'm trying to buy a 2007 Honda Pilot EXL-Navigation in the San Francisco Bay Area, the invoice is $32,500, one dealer gave me a quote of $31,777, plus lic. and tax, should I take it, or is there any room for bargain? Thanks!
Is there any dealer incentive for 2007 Honda Pilot that anyone know of?

hondacuraworld.com is good because they don't charge shipping, and they only charge 4 bucks for handling. They are very honest and trustworthy.

Hi, newbie on the board and sorry for the book but I could really use some advice. Here is my situation...

I'm a PA resident that two weeks ago signed the papers to Lease a 2006 Honda Pilot in northern NJ. We drove 1.5 hours to the dealer because they had the color and options we wanted.
They kept us there for 4 hours and finally we got into see the finance department right before closing.
They rushed us through the process and by that point we were fine with that as we were tired and starving...

Today, we called because we did not get tags or registration and the finance manager told us that
we had to come back in because they screwed up the tax on the car and they had to rewrite the contract.
I stated that this certainly would not mean a higher payment and the finance manager said he 'wouldn't do that to us'
but after figuring out how a lease is calaculated I see they already tried to screw us...

First, I had a trade-in that I wanted to do outside the deal. I had just paid off the car and it will take about
3 weeks to get the title. The salesman came back with his boss and said they must put the car in the deal.
What he said he would do for us is this...
Trade-in value of car 3500 would be added to the cap cost. (I did not like this).
They would immediately show this money as a trade-in to take the cost back down to agreed upon price.
They would then cut a check to me in the amount of 3500.
I still don't understand the logic in this other than the fact that once I give them the title, they will forget
about this part of the deal and after getting home, I see there is no mention of this check anywhere.
I feel better that I recorded phone conversations by both salesman and finance manager confirming the check.
So right now they have my car but do not have the title to it.

Next, we were never told the money factor but after plugging in the numbers we determined it to be .003817
which translates to 9.1608% interest!!! That seems exorbitant for someone with an 807 credit score.

Here is where they screwed up and why they want us to come in and sign a new contract....

PA has a 9% lease tax and the finance manager never added it into the monthly payments...
He simply forgot to put the number in. Our payment would have been 550 but instead is 504.

Now I know what he will likely do... He will lower the money factor to .002817 which will keep the payment the same
but my gripe is that factor still translates to 6.76 percent which I still think is high for excellent credit.

They also screwed up because they did not sign the lease agreement and we did not sign the back so the contract is not valid.

Currently, we have had the car for 2 weeks without tags, registration or inspection.
They have had our trade in without the title.
We have been verbally promised (and recorded proof) that once title is surrenderd we will get a 3500 check.

    My questions are these...

    1) Is a money factor of .003817 or even the projected adjustment of .002817 high for an 807 credit score through Honda Finance?

    2) What do you make of this trade-in deal?

    3) Should I with this bad taste in my mouth tell them that I want to rework the deal to terms I can live with or just return the
car and take back my trade-in.

    Thanks.

This is why I try to avoid leases like the plague. I don't know what your trade in is. Perhaps better just to lease and sell the trade in the paper to the highest bidder. (its low enough in price to do that.) Or preferably shop it to 3-4 dealers (preferably of the same nameplate) to get the best price and sell it to them since you are paid off. (bluebooks are unreliable)

If they won't do the deal without it you probably are eating a substantial amount on the trade anyway.

Since I don't know your payments are its hard to tell. I suspect the way the deal came down it isn't anything to write home about.

Try to go to the kbb.com and see what roughly the trade is worth to see if you're even in the ballpark. In any event I would want a bigger check for the trade with the same or lower payments or just turn the car in and drive your trade away. The way you consummated a (30000?) deal because you were hungry tells me driving away may not be a great loss.

Perhaps someone with more experience with leases can offer more input.
