You did the best you could with the information you had at the time.. It really has nothing to do with the car you are now driving..
If it makes you feel better, thousands of other people did the same thing... Try not to link the buying experience with the driving or owning experience.. It is the same car, no matter how much you paid for it....

The marketing support is for the RWD 325 and 330 sedans only.
Edmunds does not list any marketing support for the AWD or coupes/convertibles.
I think a new "BMW remorse" forum should be created.
That money directly lowers the price the dealer pays so the dealer is paying invoice - the incentive.
I would use that as a starting point as to the price you should negotiate.
I feel for anyone that recently purchased. The only thing keeping me from hanging myself is that I bought an xi which does not have the incentives on them.
Do you know the residuals and money factors that would be applicable now?
Also, can't I bargain to use the 2500 incentive to reduce my net cap cost?
There is a line between love and hate and I got 25,000 reasons to cross that line. I am trading in my new 2005 325i for the Acura TL, this weekend.
Sparkling graphite $475
205 Steptronic Trans $1275
522 Xenon lights $800
ZSP Sport Package $800
Total MSRP $48,645
This car must be ordered. The current offer is for $46,700.. Good or bad? Take it or work more?
I am a first time BMW buyer and am used to getting more off MSRP, but I checked edmund's TMV and it quotes $47,641.Please help
Thanks for your help.

2) Any strippers available after 1/31? I'm sure some will be, but they probably aren't making any more... If you see one in the color you want, I wouldn't wait..
3) Price? Invoice - $2500 incentive + $500-$1000 profit...

Dealer here has to order new and has quoted me a MSRP of 35,194 including destination charge of 695.00, Right now I have them down to $34,194. Their 36 month lease has a MF of .0018 and a residual of 21,027. Total taxes and tags would be $1554.68, which I could pay in cash, bringing pmt to about $506. Seems high to me and according to some online lease calculators. Deal or not? Can I get more off MSRP?
I'm starting my quest for a used 2001/02/03 330i. My color preference would be mystic blue w/black int. but I not set on that color. Although I'd wouldn't want to purchase a white or silver and they seem to be the only ones available. Looking to keep it near or under $25K. Anyone have a suggestion where to search? Visited local lots with no success.
Also what are some key pointer to keep an eye for when looking at used 3 series?
Thanks a bunch.
One point I always try to make.. Determine what the invoice is... Then make your offer in real dollars... and never mention the term "invoice" in any negotiations...
Once you start working a deal from invoice + $XXX, then the dealer will start adding in all sorts of things..
Be aware that you might not be able to get the absolute rock-bottom deal from every dealer..
And yes.. dealer, document, conveyence fees.. are all part of the profit figure..
hope this helps,

The base MF is .00125
If you waive the security deposit (not a good idea), that increases the MF to .0014
BMWFS allows them to mark up the money factor by .0004, which it looks like they have done.. resulting in an MF of .0018
It also looks like they may be bumping up the acquisition fee from $625 to $825, because that is the only way I can get the payment up to $506.
I didn't check the MSRP, but let's assume it is correct... Also, I'm assuming from the residual, that you are looking at a 3yr/36K lease.. This is how it should look
MSRP $35,194
Selling price $33,194 ($1K lower.. aggressive.. should be at least $500 lower)
Residual: 60% (325xi..3yr/36K)
MF: .00125
Cap cost: $33,819 (33,194 + 625 acq.fee)
Due at signing: Plates, taxes, 1st payment ($421.50), security deposit ($450)
Payment: $421.50/mo.
If you use your selling price, the payment increases by $30/mo.

2) I'd stick with an '02, mostly for the extra warranty.. CPO units will have plenty of warranty..
3) Depending on your need for horsepower, consider 325i as well.
4) Here is a car an Edmunds poster just bought, similar to what you are looking for.. I believe they paid under $25K for it..

5) There should be a LOT of dealers in the South Florida area... shop around.

My opinion is that the selling price is too high. I negotiated $1,500 off MSRP back in mid September. You should at least be able to get that much off and probably significantly more.
If you have to order it, I would think you would want to do that relatively soon with the new '06 version on the way.
Personally, I don't think your requirements are out of the ordinary. They look very much like what I found on the dealer lots when I first started looking.
The Edmunds price does not include MACO because it varies by region.
2) During the last week of December, I visited three BMW dealers and each dealer has atleast 15 of these strip down ones. They were running a $299/month lease special and giving a $2k off MSRP on them. I both mine on 12/30 and all three dealers still has roughtly the same inventory in their lot. So, I bet the chance is good they will be availalbe after January.
3) $2500 under invoice (Edmunds or KBB)
The car I drove was loaded with options (sport pkg., premium pkg., leather, etc..) but my local dealer has one coming in that is equipped with the options I prefer...Metallic paint, Sport Package,
Steptronic 5-Speed Automatic. MSRP $33,145, Invoice $30,435. I'm thinking that with the current $2500 dealer incentive I may be able to get the car for under $30,000 before taxes...$30,435 (invoice)- $2500 (incentive)= $27,935 (dealers cost). Add to that $1000 for dealer profit margin, and even if I pay the $399 dealer fee's I'd still be under $30,000 with $29,334. Does this sound like a realistic deal? The Edmunds TMV on this car for my area is $32,425 but does not factor in the $2500 incentive.
Sounds like a problem you have created for yourself.. Not sure what your point is..

$2500 on 325i
$3800 on 330i
Since it isn't a consumer rebate, the dealer is not likely to tell you about it.. But, if you know about it, you can use that to adjust your offer accordingly.

If my local dealer is not intersted in cutting me a deal, ...
- Am I stuck there?
- Do I have an option to go as far as I physically can to another dealer (another state) and then buy?
- Can I order it over the phone/fax/e-mail, and the dealer will have it delivered either to my home or the local dealer? I keep reading about these killers deals elsewhere.
Regards,
SS
I was looking specifically for this vehicle (white, sport pkg, Xenon) and found that there were plenty of blues and silvers available, but there was only one white one that fit my description within 200 miles of Richmond VA, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a blue one.
As far as what to look for and watch out for, I was told to look for two things; have the dealer check all of the prior service records for any chronic electronic gremlins (problems). Check when the brake pads were last replaced (they seem to go quickly). Then check the obvious for a used car, accidents, tires, paint work, etc.
Good luck! I have had my 330i for about a month and I absolutely love it.
You are not stuck with your local dealer. You can buy from whomever you wish.
You can definitely buy from a dealer in another state. I did a few months ago.
You can do it without ever stepping foot into the dealership via fax/e-mail/mail.
The dealer can arrange to have it delivered to your house but be aware that they will probably charge $0.75/mile or so to have it delivered to you. Take this into account when making a decision where to buy.
1. Many/most (all?) BMW dealers will only provide service loaner cars from people who bought from them.
2. Depending upon the state, a non-selling dealer may not have to service your car. You might check your state's auto franchise law. In my state, only the selling dealer legally has to service your car. Rare, but every now and then a dealer will refuse to service a car. (Happened to me once back in '96 with my local Chrysler dealer. Zone rep steered me to another dealer. Never bought another Chrysler. Had two at the time.)
2) I've seen this with many domestic makes, and by law, I guess any business can refuse to serve any customer, as long as they don't discriminate for the usual reasons.. but, unless you've had some kind of personal run-in with a BMW dealer, and have been banned from their property, most service departments could care less where you bought it..
But, a quick phone call to your local service advisor can clue you in pretty quick... Most BMW SAs are pretty friendly, and will give you straight info. I'd definitely check that out before you buy out of town...

The inventory on 2004's wasn't all that great in October (I was looking then), and the incentives didn't start in January, did they?
Heck, I would check eBay... There's quite a few 3-series bimmers being sold there every day! I'm sure you can find one near you, where you can actually see and drive the car before you buy it. That's what we did few months ago when we bought my wife's Infiniti FX35...
So you should definitely ask your dealer to pass on the $2,500 incentive to you.
