    Hello,

Can you help me analyze the following offer:

    2015 Accord EX-L no nav
    $29,240 MSRP
    $25,499 selling price
    base MF and resid.
    $500 down + $500 grad. incentive + 1st payment
    Monthly: ~$279 including tax

    How does this look?

.00039 MF.. need to know the lease term and mileage to do a calculation.. 55% residual for 36/15.
MF is 0.00039 and resid is $16,082. 36/15

    Local sales tax is 6.5%
If the $1000 pays upfront costs such as acquisition fee ($595) and title registration and the CAP cost is the same as the selling price, then the payment would be about $278/mo.+tax.. You look to be about $17/mo. under that... so, some of that must be going to a cap cost reduction..

Looks like a good deal... I wouldn't bother putting the $500 down.. just take the $15/mo higher payment.

Just verbally accepted a deal and scheduled pickup for this weekend...

    2015 Accord Sport
    3 yr / 12k per
    MSRP = $25,455
    Sale Price = $21,700
    Residual = $14,764 (58%)
    MF = .00039
    Fees = $595 acq + $444 admin/doc/reg
    Base Monthly = $236.27
    Montly Payment w/ Tax = $257.24

$0 due at delivery, dealership makes first payment on my behalf. They chose this in lieu of making the final $280 payment due on my Buick.

They also have the following listed as Aftermarkets at $0 charge on the deal sheet: Window tint, wheel locks, Theftguard, Tireguard, Xzilon.

How'd I do? This doesn't appear to be an A+ deal, but seems pretty solid based on what I've read.

May I have updated numbers for the Accord EX-L 4 cylinder? Thinking 12k/36M. And any guidance you have on "selling price" as well. Thanks.

    .00039 and 57%.

Use the pricing tools at the top of the page (make / model / year) to help establish a target price. And, you should check out the "Accord Prices Paid" discussion as well.

Can somebody give me an opinion on this deal. I am in Northern NJ.

2015 Honda Accord Ex-L with navigation

    3 yr/ 12k per year
    MSRP: $30,995
    Residual: $17,058
    MF: .00039
    Selling Price: $26,800

If I accept this deal, I pay first month and trade in a 2003 Ford Taurus when picking up the car. The Taurus was valued at around $1,000.

    Lease Price: $305 / mo ($326 w/ tax)

Somethings not adding up ... the 36/12 residual for the EX-L with Nav is 55%, which gives me a residual of $17,047 - OK, not a huge difference. But, with your other numbers, I get a pre-tax payment of $267.17 - almost $40 less than the dealer quote.

Ask them for the net cap cost and make sure you understand how the dealer got from the selling price to the net cap cost amount.

You may be better off selling the Taurus on your own, if you are comfortable doing that. Any car that runs is almost automatically worth $1500-2000 in a private sale.

If you do decide to trade it in, make sure you understand how the dealer is applying that $1000 - is it for drive off costs like acquisition fee and first payment? Or, are they using it to buy down the monthly payment as a cap cost reduction (down payment)?

Thanks for the quick response. If I understand what you are saying, it seems as though the $26,900 selling price doesn't make sense with my monthly lease payment. I will definitely be taking your advice and having the dealer send me a complete list of their cost calculations. I heard a good amount about fees and taxes upwards of $2500 and I figured that was why I was paying extra on the lease.

That aside, are you able to tell me if $305 / mo (considering a $1 K trade in) is a good price for this vehicle? Thanks.

The $305/mo before tax is decent; you may be able to do better.

I have some updated numbers if anybody has any opinions. My lease price jumped from 305 to 319 because I didn't qualify for a graduate incentive. I would appreciate any thoughts:

2015 Honda Accord Ex-L with navigation

    Price: $26,928
    MSRP: $30985
    Acq Fee: $595
    Gov''t Fee: $237
    Taxes: $735.10
    Doc Fee: $399

    Residual : $17,041.75
    MF: .00039

    36 mo/ 12k a year

My total initial payment is $1319 ($1,000 trade in and first month).

    Thanks or any help.

The numbers are the same regardless of transmission type.

Check the "Accord Prices Paid" discussion to see what others are paying.

With the MSRP and selling price you've given me, I get a pre-tax payment of $199.21/mo

    Residual value (wasnt giving it)
    Resudual % (wasnt giving it)

If I use the MSRP of $24,685 and the lease price of $21,062 as the net cap cost, along with the .00039 MF and 36/12 residual of 58%, I get a pre-tax payment of $201.15. It would take a very high tax rate to get to $230 from there.

Ask the dealer what the true net cap cost is - my guess it's higher than $21,062. If so, get them to explain how they arrived at that number.

I just leased a "2015 Honda Accord LX cvt" 3yr/36000 miles

I am not positive about all the numbers but I will post what I have:

    MSRP 23,123.06
    ---------
    Negotiated price: 21,530.73

    Sales tax (7.25%): 607.33

    License/title/registration fees: 140.00

    Dealer DOC fee: 250.00

    Acquisition fee: 595.00

    all fees/tax title/doc/acquisition = Gross cap cost of 23,123.06
    ---------

    RV: 13,970.25

    Depreciation: 9,152.81

    rent charge: 387.19

    total cost of lease: 9540.00 + 350.00 turn in fee = 9890.00
    ----------

No money down, first month paid by dealer, 265.00 month due in 30 days.

so, not too sure what the fine print like MF turns out to be.

I think its a good deal but honestly I am not sure. They one thing that surprised me was the turn in fee of 350$

    Any comments?

The MSRP is exactly the same as the cap cost? I find that surprising.

Disposition fees are the norm nowadays. My Hyundai lease has one as well. It's waived if you lease another Honda.

Decent deal given the $265 includes taxes.

Still seems too high. Get the net cap cost .. if the dealer isn't willing to share this information, it may be time to start working with a different Honda dealer.

Yep. It looks like they just added fees to the negotiated price of 21,530.73 to equal the msrp of 23,123.06
    so 23123.06 - 21530.73 = 1592.33 (title fee $15, reg fee $125, use tax $607 and then the mysterious "other fees" $845)

Hmm. Well. Not sure how it all works out. It will probably come into play towards the end of the lease if I want to buy it? Hmm.

    Hey guys,

New to this forum. I am in desperate need of advice.

I just accepted this offer for a 36 month 15k miles lease - Accord EX-L V6 no nav.

    MSRP: $31,500
    Selling for around $27k
After taxes (NYC 8.875% + title ($75) + dealer fee + acquisition ($595) It comes out to around $28.5k

55% Residual - .00039 MF - Got it to $399 a month, and with $0 down... they only want me to pay 1st month along with dealer fee.

My calculations brought this to around $365-$380 after I calculated the numbers again upon leaving the dealership... did I do alright with $399?

Is there anything I can do now before I completely commit to this deal to bring the monthly cost down???

    Thank you so much!

I show a residual of 54% for that model.

Using your numbers ($31500 MSRP and $28500 Cap cost), but with 54% residual, I get $337/mo.

Not sure how you get $365-$380 or how they get $399/mo.

    36/12 residuals:

    Sport - 58%

    LX-S - 57%

What is the MSRP and selling price?

No negatives to a pre-pay - you get a discount on the money factor.

The MSRP is 28,985 and i think the  sell is 26,755.  Also question on the prepaid lease what happens if it is stolen or totaled in a wreck do you lose your money ?
    Thanks

The lease numbers on the EX-L Coupe are .00029 (pre-pay) and 55% residual for 36/12.

Pre-tax, that works out to $312.75/mo, or $11,259 for the 36 months. Your offer of $10,900 is pretty strong in comparison.

My understanding is that in a pre-paid lease, if the car is stolen or totaled, you get your money back.

    Hello,

Based on these numbers is the quote I'm getting accurate or close?

    2015 Honda Accord Sedan EX-L V6

    MSRP $31315.00
    Sale Price $27599.00
    Purchase option (lease end) $17536.40
    Fees $967.20 (includes a $699.00 doc fee)
Up front taxes of $45.99 - not sure what this is

I have an idea an acquisition fee is missing somewhere.

    No money down

    Monthly Payment $377.77 <---includes 6.5 tax
    3 yr/12,000

    Thank you.

I'm guessing the net cap cost is much higher than the selling price --- with your MSRP and selling price, along with the 36/12 residual of 56% and MF of .00039, I get a pre-tax payment of only $297.12.

Ask the dealer for the net cap cost.

    Would the net cap cost be $27599 + $967.20 + $45.99?

Shouldn't the EX-L V6 cost more than the 4 cylinder coupe listed above?

That sounds about right, but you should ask the dealer. This is a place where extra fees can be added. Adding the extra fees will add about $28/mo to the pre-tax payment. With tax I'm still only at $346/mo.
