2015 Honda Accord Lease Questions

Hi, Mod, question on a lease offer I came across.

A local dealer is advertising a 2015 Accord LX-CVT 27 month lease for $129.00 per month with no money down, just fees (doc, dmv, acq fee 595)- 10k miles per year. Shows a MSRP 23,725 residual value of 15,585 and NJ taxes of 243.81. I am assuming the MF is .00039 as shown in most of the previous posts. Based on this info. I calculated the selling price to be around 18,750.

1. Does that look correct ? Also, does 18,750 sound reasonable ?
2. Looks like they are using a MF of .657 (15,585 / 23,725) for 10K miles, but I need 15K, so would I expect the MF to be around 3% less or .627 ?
3. Look like a good deal ???

Any insight/info would be appreciated.

The current Honda numbers are good through 5/11/15.

.00039 MF and 58%. $500 lease cash.

The lease cash is a factory to dealer incentive - the dealer can pass it along to the customer.

Two ways it can be applied:

1. Like a rebate to lower the selling price of the car
2. To offset the up front costs of the lease - acquisition fee, first payment, etc.

Your calculations are correct - sales tax for a lease in NY is applied to the sum of the payments up front. You can either pay that amount at lease signing or add it to the cap cost and pay it as part of the monthly payment.

I calculate sales tax at just about $700 - this will add $19.43/mo to your payment if you choose to pay it monthly.

So i went to the dealer and got these numbers 255 a month zero out of pocket except dmv (around 100ish) and 1st month 36 months  12k a year is that good (deal isnt done yet since the car isnt there got included 1 yr free maintance)

$255/mo for a car that stickers at $25K is a pretty good deal.

At that price, it should be $309/mo.+tax.. That's $328/mo., with 1st payment and title/registration due at signing.. Their price seems to be $17/mo. higher..

With the numbers you've provided, the math looks good.

Check the "Accord Prices Paid" discussion to see what others have been paying.

You might circle back with the dealer to see if their net cap cost is the same as what you've provided ... they may have slipped in some extra fees which is increasing the payment.

Considering purchasing a Honda Accord. I like the LX but love the EX-L . But due to starting grad school next semester a LX may make more sense financially. With that being said is the LX model better to lease or buy?

( I have FICO in the 780's. However,I feel that if I finance the LX. It's not my "forever" car in terms of options. I feel that the EX-L would check off more of those boxes as a finance vehicle.)

So would I be better holding out to November or December to purchase an EX-L for the best pricing ? I have a rusty beater I can drive till then, but would rather not. Not interested in extending my current lease.

@kyfdx I have the money saved up to get a car but would like a really good deal. I have had had four previous vehicles lease/finance and based on what I am learning each and every one of them have not been a good deal. I just would like to get a good deal for once. I don't have a wingman or woman who knows about buying a new vehicle to go in with me to make sure this happens. I have tried going in on my own and it always goes south.
