Hey everyone, looking for some help.

Looking to lease a 2015 SE Sonata - base line model - no bells and whistles or anything out of the ordinary. 12k miles and 36months. I am looking to put $0 down. I qualify for the $500 loyalty bonus as well.

What monthly payment should I shoot for? I was thinking somewhere in the 220s.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

.00066 and 59% are the 36/12 numbers for the Sonata SE this month.

We would need to know the MSRP and selling price in order to model a payment.
MSRP is $23,575, but I don't have a selling price just yet because we haven't done any negotiations.
    Keep us posted.
Thants kind of what I am looking for some advice on. I know the purchase price ends up configuring what the monthly lease payment, so what purchase price and lease payment should I be shooting for? Or should I just wait until he makes and offer and then post it here to see what you guys think?

Using the MSRP and purchase price you've given me, along with the MF and residual quoted above, I get a pre-tax payment of $195.09. It would take a lot of tax to get to $249/mo from there. What state is this? Tax obligations for a lease vary based on where you live.

Ask the dealer what the net cap cost is - my guess it's a bit higher than the purchase price of $20,124. Ask them how they got to the net cap cost from the selling price. Might be some hidden fees in there.

I did some shopping when I was in NC, thinking of getting a car for my daughter down there. Dealer fees IIRC were nuts. $799 or some such. Though I think the sales tax was cheaper.

    Thank you so much Michaell!

These numbers are applicable to any city in US, right?
    Well, I have two questions.
Hyundai have a special $1000 event cash bonus in March. That really encourages me to lease the car this month. This is a good time to lease it, right? If qualified, can i get $1000 (march event) + $1000 retail bonus + $500 competitive owner + $1000 lease cash = $3500 total rebate at most?
For the lease cash, is there any restrictions to get the $1000 lease cash? lease cash is not sth that is officially listed on the website. So would the dealer just give the lease cash bonus to me or it is sth that i need to negotiate with them? how should i ask the dealer for the lease cash in addition to all other rebate.
I am sorry for having too many questions. This is my first time to but/lease a new car. Thank you!

Yes, the numbers quoted above are nationwide.

You should confirm that the March bonus and/or the Retail bonus is applicable to leases or if it just available for a purchase.

Lease cash is factory to dealer; the dealer can choose to pass it along to the customer.

Hello! I just had a quick question regarding an offer I received regarding a 2.0T Limited based on the current MF and residual. The MSRP is $34,660.00. I negotiated the selling price to $28,900. On a 36month/12,000 mile lease, they've offered $375/month total with $1,000 down to include first month payment, title, registration, etc. Is this a decent deal? Thanks for your help!

With your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $286.02. Ask the dealer what the net cap cost is - I suspect it's a bit higher than the selling price you've negotiated.

Also, what state is this? Tax obligations for a lease vary by state.

What are the mandatory fees for leasing a 2015 Sonata 2.0T Sport or 2.0T Limited in NY/NJ/CT? Do they have a $595 bank/acquisition fee like Kia, a security fee, a disposition fee, etc.? If so, what are they?

Also, if my current lease is through Kia Motor Finance and I lease a Sonata through Hyundai Motor Finance, can I turn my Kia in to Hyundai and have the last payment and disposition fee waived as if I had gotten another Kia since they are the same company>

    Thanks!

Yes, a $595 acquisition fee. I don't think they require a security deposit, in most cases. There is probably a disposition fee (at lease turn-in), but I don't know the amount.

Of course, you'll have tax, title/registration and some sort of dealer doc fee (restricted to $75 in NYS).

I doubt you can get the disposition fee waived, if turning in a Kia and leasing a Hyundai.

    Hey guys,

Did I overpay? Did I get a decent deal?

I had 8 payments of $308.01 remaining on my 2013 Sonata Limited 2.0T. Instead of buying/trading directly with the dealership, I went through a leasing company who handled everything. (Leasing companies are pretty common around my area). The leasing company took my old car back, they will buy it out and re-sell. I love the new car, but I'm not sure how I feel about the deal I made with them. What do you guys think? All the numbers below....

I got into a 2015 Sonata Limited 2.0T Sport, top of the line.

I paid out of pocket $2,575.00. 10k miles/36 month lease

    Window Sticker MSRP: $34,740.00

    Capitalized Cost Reduction: $2,905.80
    First Payment: $335.9
    Registration Fees: $62
    Document Fee/Acquisition Fee/ NY Sales Tax: $1,691.25

Total Amount due at Lease Signing/Delivery: $5,250.00

    Gross Capitalized Cost: $33,921.50
    Capitalized Cost Reduction: $2,905.80
    Adjusted Capitalized Cost: $31,015.70
    Residual Value: $20,496.60
    Depreciation/Amortized: $10,519.10
    Rent Charge: $1,576.54
Total of Base Monthly Payments: $12,095.64
    Lease Payments: 36
    Base Monthly Payment: $335.99

Not bad, but we don't normally recommend making a cap cost reduction .. if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

After sending dozens of emails and calls, I got a quote for 36k/36 lease term
2015 Sonata Limited with tech package :
    MSRP $31250
    Sale price : $26998
    rebate : $2500 ($1000 March event $1000 retail bonus $500 Boostup match)
first month pay +$500 boostup account money due at signing
Monthly pay including tax : $250
I live in Texas where lease tax is very high. This is the first time I lease/finance a car. Even though my FICO score was 720, my car credit score that was checked by dealer was 678. It was not enough to get the best APR/MF.
The final deal they showed me was
first month pay +$500 boostup account money due at signing
Monthly pay including tax : $280.xx for 36k/36 lease term or $272.xx for 30k/36 term.
They said hyundai just started 30k/36 lease and residual is 59% versus 58% for 36k/36. I live in the walking distance of my office and would not drive more than 10k per year so I bargain the 30k/36 term lease down to $265.88 /month. signed a check for 265.88 and gave my boostup account code which had $500 in it and drove the car away. For guys who want 36k/36 lease, if i choose that, i should get somewhere around $273/month

    To summarize,
MSRP $31250 (2015 Sonata Limited with tech package + accessory)
    Sale price : $26998
    rebate : $2500 ($1000 March event $1000 retail bonus $500 Boostup match)
$265.88 + $500 boostup account money due at signing
    $265.88 monthly payment including tax
    lease term : 30k for 36 months
(P.S. Tax for lease is 6.25% of full car price in Texas)
I also got a 3 year roadside assistance coverage package for free. It covers flat tire also up to four time with $50 deduction.

The car so far so good. I am happy with the power of 2.4L engine not too bad compared with limited 2.0T that i test drove. And it is very quite. Navigation system is a little tricky to use. It does not allow me the exclude routes that have freeway and highway completely. It has only one option of minimizing them. Therefore I hope i could have used Apple's Carplay.

I thought Apple's Carplay is already available, but it was not the case for my car. Hyundai said 2015 Sonata with navigation would be the only car that equipped with Apple Carplay and Android Auto in Hyundai. Customer who already bought Sonata would be able to upgrade the system for Carplay and Android Auto later once Hyundai released it. Look forward to it.

Thanks Michaell for MF and RV values!
I am happy with my purchase.

Not sure how far you are from NY, but the dealer fee is limited to $75, which compared to $400, is almost $10/mo less on a 36 month lease. If you can get to a dealer here, I would check it out.

My local Hyundai dealer is offering a 36 month/36,000 mile lease on 2015 Sonata SE for $104/month with $1,100 down. The price of the car is $22,000. This seems like a great deal on the surface. What do you think. I do not know residual price. Brad

I suspect the devil is in the details (or fine print). The $1100 is probably cap cost reduction; your total out of pocket at the beginning of the lease is probably much higher than that.

    OR ...

It may say that the payment is twice a month, meaning your true payment is $208/mo.

36/12 numbers for the SE are .00066 and 59%.

Is the $22,000 the selling price? What is the MSRP?

22K is just about the base MSRP for a no-option SE. That deal has to have a major catch. If my dealer guy called to offer it to me, I would get a 2nd one and pass it along to my daughter!

I wish I knew more details, but the ad says $104/month and the $22,000 is the MSRP. The deal also applies to the 2015 Elantra SE. I will go in Monday and report what I find.
