The math is correct, but it doesn't matter if you can't get the dealer to agree to that selling price.

But is what the dealer saying about the Truecar prices not applying to leases true or just a lie? 

We don't know anything about the validity of TrueCar numbers .. have you checked Edmunds' Price Promise instead?

I tried the Edmund's price promise and I got $28,586 which is about a grand more than the Truecar price. I calculated using this number instead and got $295.64 + tax. But the dealer was saying that any discounts I find online only applied to finance, not leases. And the price the dealer quoted me was over $400 (not including tax)... Which is just insane

Time to reach out to another dealer.

First rule of leasing is that you negotiate the best selling price, just like you would with a purchase. This dealer seems unwilling or unable to do that.

What is the negotiated selling price?

What is the breakdown of the $2097 down?

On the surface, $285/mo for a $31K car looks good, but we need to know the details to be sure.

Hi all, new to these forums.
I was able to negotiate a 2015 Sonata Limited w/ both Ultimate and Tech pkgs for $28,500 otd. MSRP is at $32,730. Does anyone know what the current residual value and money factor would be for a 3yr/15000mile lease? Location is Fairfax, VA.

I was also wondering where i can find the most current and accurate residual value/money factor information for the 2015 Sante Fe Sport and other manufacturers/models.

The inflated MF means more profit for the dealer. Explain to them - politely but firmly - that you won't sign a deal that includes an inflated MF.

These numbers expire today.

Helps if I read the right line from a table with a very small font size. Indeed the residual for 36/12 is 60%.

56% is for 39 months.

No lease cash on the 2015's as of today.

That could all change with the new numbers.

The numbers we've given you are from Hyundai Finance. Dealer is allowed to mark up the MF for extra profit, but the residual is fixed and cannot be modified.

just got my 2015 2.4 limited with tech today. MSRP $31,125. Lease is 36/36, $1000 total at inception, including all NJ DMV fees. Payment is $290 including tax.

I am more than happy to get this deal.

Hopefully still alive. Age, is just a number.

I am out of the market though for 33 months (yes, the finance guy brought up their pull ahead program!), unless the Volvo decides to cause problems and has to be replaced. the next car in the family is likely to be my son. His lease has 2 years to go to hit pull ahead time from VW, but he is already Jonesing to upgrade to a GLI. I told him to ride it out, and pay off his student loans first, before splurging. But who knows.
