Guys could use some help figuring out how Lexus is pricing their current special. In Louisiana Lexus is currently offering $349/month for a 2015 ES350 for a 36 month lease at 10 miles with $1,199.00 down. Using the numbers for March of .0009 at 62% on an MSRP of 38,625.00 I come up with a payment of $428.00 before taxes. How do they get their special price to $349? Do they pick an arbitrary number that can’t be calculated? Trying to find a way to use this discount to my advantage since the MSRP of the car I want is in the mid 40’s.

There is also a "dealer contribution" figured into the advertised payment - this is nothing more than a discount from the sticker price.

Do I still benefit from the dealer contribution if I choose to go with options resulting in a higher msrp?

You should always work to negotiate the best selling price you can .. you should be able to do better than the advertised deal.

In Feb there is a rebate of $1500 for leasing, also complimentary first month's payment. Does anybody know if the rebate is still available for March?
Also what's the MF and RV for March?
    Thanks!

Both the $1500 lease cash and the complimentary first payment are still available in March.

    36/15 lease numbers are .00090 and 59%.

.00090 MF and 61% residual. $1500 lease cash. Complimentary 1st payment.

36 months seems to be the best deal.

The downpayment used to cover a portion of the doc fees was $538.00, and I did 9 MSDs for a total of $3,150 so $3,688 total payment at signing. Monthly payment without tax before MSDs was $395.00, after MSDs it's $349.32 per month all in. I think I got a good deal. What do you think? Thanks again.

Hi there! Could I please get numbers for April? Looking in SoCal - ES350, 36 months, 7500 miles/year.

If you could provide the corresponding RV and MF that would be perfect, thanks.

Also looking for the same numbers on a GS350 if possible. And any current incentives if things like lease cash/first month's payment are still hovering around.

    Thanks!

Hi, can you give the current numbers for es 350 For 15k miles In Socal.  Is it worth to go for such high miles on premium cars?

    .00070 MF and 58% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr. $1500 lease cash.

15K/yr is standard. On a per/mile basis, it's the most economical of any lease mileage allowance. Doesn't matter what make or model.

For an ES350 Base from what I've been reading it seems the sweet spot formula is to negotiate a 6.5% discount from the MSRP, plus lease cash/money down then work the .00070 MF and 60% residual on that number (Capitalization cost). Is this a reasonable assumption?

I believe each MSD reduces the MF by .00008, with a minimum MF of .00001

I believe each MSD reduces the MF by .00008, with a minimum MF of .00001

So in this situation we would only be able to do a max of 8 MSDs (which would take the MF all the way down to 0.00006) and won't be able to apply the 9th MSD since that would cause a negative MF (0.00070 - 0.00072) correct?

Thank you for all the useful information in this forum and on this website.

I have been attempting to negotiate a lease on a 2015 Lexus ES 350 with a MSRP of $41664 in Florida. I was able to get them to discount it $4000 for the selling price. With the $1500 incentive, I calculate the payment to be:

    Selling Price: $37664
    Acquisition Fee: $700
    Dealer's Fee: $699
    Tag: $100
    Incentive: -1500
Lease Residual value of: $28748.16 (based on 69% quote from dealer for 24 months)
    Money Factor: 0.00070
    12000 miles a year for 24 months
    This equals: $446 a month.

If I did 8 MSDs to lower the Money Factor to 0.00006, it would be $400 a month.

However, the dealer is quoting me $528.82 a month for 27 months. They are using a MF of 0.00120. Even when I put these numbers in the calculator, I get $437 a month. What calculation am I missing or are they overcharging me?

Do I have to put in the entire sales tax of the car which is 6% of 37664 = 2259.84? Is my Total Cap Cost = Selling Price + State Tax + Dealer's Fees + Acquisition fee?

    I thought the tax would be based on monthly payments, therefore $437 + (437 X 6%=26.22) = $463.22

I know I need to get them to bring the Money Factor down, but am I missing anything else? I might start at another dealer since I just saw on the previous page another poster getting the selling price down to $35700+. Greedy me. : )

    I appreciate your input.

You've got the right idea ... work to get the base MF and work with multiple dealers. That way you'll get the best selling price.

So tax should not be included in Total Cap Cost, right?
Instead it should be in the monthly payments, I think...

    Thank you for the reassurance.

    Thank you for the reassurance.

It depends on the state ... some states (NY and NJ, for example) calculate the tax for the entire lease up front - you can either pay it at lease signing or add it to the cap cost.

Some states (TX, MD, GA) tax the entire selling price, not just the depreciation. Again, this amount can be paid up front or added to the cap cost.

Most states simply apply the sales tax to the monthly payment - that's how it works for me here in Colorado, for example.

I have to double check, but I think Florida applies the sales tax to the monthly payment. I have been searching online, but haven't found it yet. Where is the best place for me to find this info?

Also, I read somewhere to try to have your lease end in September to December because that's when new car models come out. Is this when the dealers have the best leasing options on a new car? Or do they have better prices on cars they are trying to clear out in the spring/early summer?

If I do a 24 month lease, we repeat the process again in April of 2017. 27 months, end of July. Would inventory for the current year be too low to have good options/prices? If I go for 30 months, my lease would end in October. What timeline would be best? Does it matter significantly?

You are correct.. Florida taxes the monthly payment.

I see the best lease deals in Spring or Summer... but, that's a pretty general statement.

I got down to the base MF of 0.0070, but this dealership won't let me do MSD. They said since it was late in the day, they have to ask their directors tomorrow. Isn't it Lexus Financial Services that ultimately makes these decisions? If other dealers allow it, shouldn't this one also?

Reached a deal on a 2015 es 300h in Portland, OR yesterday.

    MSRP - $49,284
    Purchase Price - $46,700
    RV - $30,063
Used MSDs to get MF down to .00006
    Due at signing - $5,339.74 ($3,800 MSDs, $373 title, reg, fees, $700 acquisition, first month) - $1,500 lease cash = $3,839.74
    36 month/10k - $466.74

    Thoughts?

I'm not aware of any dealer level participation opt-ins (or opt-outs) for MSD. Many dealers are not aware or don't know how to write a contract that includes MSD. Just be persistent.

Who should I have them contact? Should I have them contact Lexus Financial Services? Envious at our friend in Portland. Looks like that dealership knows what they are doing. Congrats!

You can suggest that. You may also want to reach out to a different Lexus dealer.

Hi, which dealership in Portland did you get your deal? I wonder if it is worthwhile for me to check them out and have them ship the car down here. Thanks!

Kuni Lexus of Portland. They are actually the only Lexus dealer in the metro area up here, so I was pleasantly surprised I could talk them down as much as I did. It took them a while to work out the MSD thing too (really surprised more people don't do this), but they were really good to work with overall.
