I see where people are paying MSD (multiple security deposits) to reduce the MF. How does this work and is the security deposit set by Lexus or each dealership. If set by Lexus what is a single security deposit amount on a 2015 or 2016 ES350? Thanks in advance.

I believe Lexus allows up to 9 security deposits, each of which lowers the MF by .00008. The amount of the security deposit is the monthly payment rounded up to the next highest $50.

.00170 is the MF for all terms of the 2015 ES.

64% is the 27/12 residual. Subtract 2% for 15K.

56% is the 36/15 residual. Add 2% for 12K

I was offered the following discount on 2015 ES 350 demo with 7100 miles

MSRP $45,264
selling price $37,800

The dealer will also pay $5,278 for remaining payments on my MB lease.
I wanted to ask if this is a decent discount since this is a demo car.
also what is the MF and RV for 36/15k for Texas.

No support on the 2015 ES; MF is now .00170; 36/15 residual is 56%, but that will be adjusted down given the miles (probably at a rate of .10-.25 per mile).

Discount just seems OK for a demo; read back through this thread to see what others have been able to negotiate.

You sure that the dealer is covering the remaining lease payments or is that amount being rolled into the new lease? I'd get clarity on that issue.

Texas applies sales tax to the entire selling price of the car.

No the dealer is going to cut a check for the remaining payments. I told the dealer that I will buy the car with my own financing.

MSDs allow you to buy down the MF rate - I believe Lexus allows a maximum of 9 MSDs, each of which lower the MF by .00008

Need some guidance with this offer I was given today:
-2016 ES350, 15k/miles/year, 36 months
-MSRP: $39,274
-Sale Price: $38,775
-Down: $2550 (includes tax/tag/title)
-Monthly Payment: $469 (inclusive of tax)
-They are also cutting a $4,221 check for me to pay off my other lease. 

As I see it, considering what I owe on my lease, $4221, which is about $117/month, $469 (deal offered) - $117 = $352/month. 

I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.

I'd eat the 4200 because I have a BMW 335i and its 4K miles away from being outside the factory warranty and still have 7 months on my lease. I'll be outside the warranty in 2 months. That means for the last 5 months of the existing lease, if something breaks, I'll be paying an arm and a leg to fix it. I'm paying $600 per month. I want to lower my monthly payment and my insurance payments as well.

I see see you came up with a 60% residual. They told me it was a 51%. Any reason why what they quoted and what you came up with was different. Of course, id prefer the 51% - right?

Any thoughts on the lease I was offered? Thank you.

Actually, no... the higher the residual, the lower the payment.

If they quoted you 51%, then they are quoting a 48-month lease.

Be careful with taking a check to pay-off your other lease, instead of the dealer taking it in trade. Just because you make all the payments, you still can't end your lease early, without possible ramifications. The bank (BMWFS) might consider that an early termination.

In leasing, all residuals are a percentage of MSRP.

.00180 MF and 58% residual. $3500 dealer cash.

Might be better off leasing a 2016 model, at this point.

The base MF is .00070 for the 2016 ES350. Is the $2000 for 5 security deposits? If so, then the MF is .00100, which is marked up as you noted.

If you push for the base MF (before MSD), then you may not get as much of a discount from the sticker price.

With your prices, as is, I get $372/mo + tax, so pretty close to your calculations.

We don't recommend making a cap reduction on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

Under $400/mo for a $46K car is a pretty good deal.

When I re-check the deal sheet, I see the acquisition fee, license and doc fee was rolled into the net cap cost. However, there's still a "upfront charge" of around $500. What's this upfront charge for?

10K/36mo 0.0007 63%
12K/36mo 0.0007 62%

As you know, Lexus allows MSD up to 7 months, and if you deduct 0.00008*9, which is 0.00072, from 0.0007, then you got a negative MF ;-) Too good to believe.

Your upfront charges are the license fee and doc fee from the first column. If you notice, they aren't added into the CAP cost, only the acquisition fee is. (That's why they have the check mark next to them). They do that because they are non-taxable, and if they add them into the payment, they end up getting taxed.

I'll guess that the other $40 is upfront tax on the rebate. Of course, all of that is covered by the $880 rebate.

You just have the $3203 upfront due, right? Looks like a great deal.

There will be a minimum MF. It's either .00001 or .00005.

So, you might only use 8 MSDs, instead of 9.

The MF and residual numbers are correct.

66% (27/15) or 60% (36/15) and .00070 MF. $500 lease cash and complimentary first payment. Add 2% for 12K.

Yes, there is an MSD program available for Lexus.

Cannot reverse engineer the MF from the other parts of the deal you list.

There is a minimum MF of .00005 allowed by Lexus; cannot have a negative MF.
