I bought my Pacifica at the end of June for $1500 under invoice with about $1300 worth of Mopar accessories thrown in. I like doing part of a deal with accessories because I would have paid full retail but the dealership is only out half that amount and it makes both of us feel pretty good. The value for my trade was just OK but I was glad to unload that crappy Mitsubishi!

My Pacifica already had the full sized spare but I was able to work the cargo group into my accessory list. That was pretty straight forward though and I know some factory options just aren't available after the fact. My guess is that the space designed for the spare tire can accommodate either size.

I've put about 3,000 miles on now and have been very pleased. I was able to load about 10 hours of DVDs in the changer for the kids on our vacation and it was smooth sailing! Anyway, if anyone thinks the Pacifica is over priced (it's not) then they ought price out a Toureg...

Got two offers of 1147 to 1436 below invoice, Not exactly what I wanted, but very close. The trade offer will be the factor, but has anyone gotten much better recently and gotten close to the Kelly Blue Book on trade??
  • deezldubdeezldub Member Posts: 15
So got the final deal from the dealer,
Midnight Blue/ Slate Grey, Fully, 100% fully loaded. MSRP of 41235 Invoice of 37548.
Dealer offer of 36499, and trade offer was 1250 over kelly blue book...
I cant imagine the deal getting any sweeter than this, gonna close the door tomorrow, hope the dealer doesnt do anything skeezy....

A reporter with a major magazine is looking to interview people who were drawn to Chrysler dealerships by the Pacifica, and then experienced sticker shock, and perhaps purchased the Town and Country instead.
If you fit the bill, please respond to jfallon@edmunds.com by Friday, September 5 with your daytime contact information and a few words about your experience.

The sticker was $37,555 and the price I paid was $31,728. I was happy with the deal and am happier with the Pacifica. My wife and I both love it the more we drive it.

Did you get the deal you mentioned in post# 105? I saw you got your blue PAC on another post. I agree w/ you on the cruise control issue. Friday night, on my way to the NC coast, I tried to use the cruise control for the first time and noticed that the controls were not lighted. I had to turn on the inside cabin lights to read the little white letters on the buttons. A bit inconvenient for those of us who can't remember which button does what.

Got the MBlue Pacifica... What a vehicle! But I dont need to tell you that... The deal was Sticker of 41200 for 35400, and My trade was 1250 over kelly blue book excellent condition. Plus 2.9 on the balance, and the 14 free oilchanges that Chrysler was throwing in this weekend. F&I tried mild pressure for a warranty/glass etch package. Told him no, came pack with the paperwork, and tried to sneak in the glas etch insurance again!. Again told him no. Got the paperwork printed again, and I made it clear that we had 20 minutes to finish the deal, there were dinner reservations at 730 PM, the sales virgin got nervous, and the deal got done. We inspected the STV, and it was perfect, except for the dealer sticker that was NOT to be there... They fixed that post haste...

We drove 250 miles yesterday, 200 today, and so far, near perfection... Maybe not perfect but as close as I have ever been in my own vehicle...

    Near Misses:
1:outdated DVD for Nav. I shouldnt have to burn my one upgrade coupon just to get mapping in the area of the dealer...
2: No backlites in the cruise control buttons
3: (sarcasm on) Radio needs a few more buttons!(sarcasm off) That thing is an ergonomic miss...
4: Why does hood need a prop rod. An 18K VW doesnt, why a 41K Chrysler...
5: Where should the headphones and remote go, since they dont fit in the console, where?

    Home Runs:
1: HID Lites, thats what its supposed to look like at night. Get these if you can
2: Nav System. Also got it right, in the right spot
3: DVD system with a DVD changer!, so beats the system that hang the player in the display area.
4: Seat comfort. Im 6 foot and high 200's and it just works right...

overall extremely pleased, from the looks of others prices, I may have been able to do a bit better, but in all the other cars over the years, this is the one that I have NO buyers remorse. I got a good deal, the dealer got a good deal, and damn, it is a fun and good looking car... It Rocks, Now replace Celine with Delbert Mcclinton, and you got something...

Cruise Control at night? Really? I think its a safety issue. Lights are cheap.

Since the Pacifica first came out I had decided that was the car next car for me. My only concern was Chrysler's some what shakey dependability. I was planning to wait for several more months until my BMW lease was over in Nov. However with all the reports about the deep discounts I am reconsidering. Has anyone out there heard how long these discounts are going to be around? Also are these discounts only on the demos or on all cars? Can you find these demos only by contacting the dealers?

I would appreciate any answers to my questions!!

We purchased our AWD Inferno Red this past weekend (end of August), with Leather, NAV, entertainment, moonroof, power lift gate, and cargo. The dealer in question was Keffer, here in Charlotte, NC.

The sticker on this baby was nearly 41k, but we got 36.4k, plus nearly 2k towards getting out of our current lease. Since the current lease was applied as a trade, we effectively got the vehicle for 34k - seven thousand below sticker (since we saved on tax)!

We are tickled about he vehicle, although we are missing the Nav DVD case, cargo net, and rear scuff guard (all of which I expect the dealer will make good on.) If only this car had a bit more power, I'd be completely smitten ...

We had been considering the Volvo XC90, but this deal was simply too good to pass up!

hi, may I ask what you leased before the Pacifica?

I am trying to get out of a Lexus RX300 4-year lease (15 months left) because we need more seating capacity and the Pacifica sounds like a nice choice (I still like the Lexus a lot though)
  • rasldaslrasldasl Member Posts: 74
I have searched Edmunds and no longer see this in effect. The Chrysler page is only listing the 1.9% financing or $1,000 towards a lease. I know they would not list the cash to dealer anyway. The dealer I was at last night is offering $2,000 cash back but I did not get into it with him if this is from Chrysler or their own contribution. I told him I thought that offer had expired the day after Labor Day but he said they almost always continue deals like that past the expiration date. They also claimed ignorance of the 1.9% financing, I think they may be trying to get me into a deal with a bank that will give them a bigger commission on the loan.

hey deexledub in my acura nav system there was no coupon for a free upgrade dvd... so even if you use it figure most other mfg dont give you a free upgrade (at least not Acura)

We were looking for a mid-size SUV but all of them were either too pricey or did not have the things that we wanted in the vehicle. Searched the Internet and there it was. The Pacifica. Read the description and went to the dealer the following day. We really liked the vehicle and wanted the fully loaded model. The price was on the high end but I wanted to wait and make a deal after more research. Some dealerships went down as much as $37000 but it would've still cost us around 40,000 out the door.

We told the dealership where we first saw the Pacifica that we would like to buy it around $36000 out the door (Tax and license included). They offered $36700 out the door (Tax and license included) and we took it. It's only been a week but we enjoy the car. Classy, very safe, smooth driving, wide vehicle, NAV is great, DVD is reeping benefits already with my kid, and the memory system for seats and radio is cool. Stuff you get if you bought a Luxury car.

This was the fully loaded model AWD (MSRP 40670)(Dealer mark-up $2989 or Asking price $43659). The only thing missing is the Extra bright headlamps. The color that we wanted did not come with it. That feature was at the bottom of our must have list anyways.

Do you mind telling me who you worked with there at Keffer. Getting tired of dealing with the guys here in Fayetteville. I hate buying a car in a "military" town.

I answered my own questions about the demonstrator program. For those with the same questions here is what I found out.
The demonstrator program started roughly two months ago. Dealers were able to discount designated demos $3,000 below invoice with Chrysler bearing the discount. Most of these cars have been sold, however by calling dealers you can still find some, mostly the loaded ones. I purchased a silver Pacifica, MSRP $38,975 for $31,943 or $6,852 under MSRP. It was discounted an extra $1,000 because it was a true demonstrator with 3,200 miles on it. My son and I drove it to a Miami Dolphin game and he told me that he didn't see why people wanted more power. We were doing 85 mph and it was rock solid. Incidentally my son is a deputy sheriff and is used to fast cars. He was so impressed that the following week he also bought one. A beautiful Butane Blue, MSRP $40,510 costing him $34,453, $6,057 below MSRP. He didn't get the $1,000 off because his demo only had 124 miles on it. The demos are still out there and are worth the search!!!

I was just wondering what the wait time has been for those who ordered one instead of buying from the lot?
  • msasarmanmsasarman Member Posts: 7
The last time I bought a car was in 1992 from Ford. This time I am negotiating with Chrysler, and I am getting the distinct impression that these guys are the Big Three's poor cousin.

    - No loaners when you bring the car in for service, the 3 yr bumber to bumber warranty does not cover most regular maintenance, and despite what your read, there are not a lot of Pacificas sitting in dealer lots. Add to that sorry looking dealerships with service bays that remind me of the Fonz from the "Happy Days".

I am trying to buy a fully loaded AWD with black exterior and light leather interior - up to now it has been impossible to find one.

And I thought everyone said that (a) Chrysler is upping their brand into the lux area with new entries and (b) the Pacifica is not selling well ...

I even had one dealer tell me that Pacificas are selling like hot cakes and to get mine I might have to pay over MSRP and get a three month waiting list.

In my opinion, Daymler is treating Chrysler as the poor cousin in the family, and not investing heavily in the brand. I certainly have not seen any difference in Chrysler since the merger.

    So what gives ?
  • imidazol97imidazol97 Member Posts: 27,691
    OVer MSRP!!!
    Waiting list?
    LOL...

Friend just bought at $3500 under MSRP on FWD. Could have had better discount on higher-priced AWD.

Just find a dealer who wants to deal on what they have on their lot and tell them when they come up with a Black/Light interior like you want, "CALL ME."

My friend had the salesman treating him very well. They had to get the car from a remote dealer by purchase rather than trading. Still discounted.

I think I've seen one like you want at local dealer when looking to help friend in city 50 miles away. So it shouldn't be too hard to find for them. Escecially since you want AWD; but most of them are loaded with extras.

You may be mistaken on the loaner.

In mid June, per a letter I have, Chrysler offered free loaners for the first 3yrs/36K miles to all Pacifica and Crossfire purchasers and lessee's. About a week later, I received the 'official' Service Contract that provides evidence of coverage.

According to the contract, I'm entitled to a loaner for any mechanical or maintenance service.

You might want to ask about it.

Finally found a dealer I feel comfortable with.
They have made an offer at DEALER INVOICE.
They are also throwing in LIFETIME oil & filter change.

The only hitch, is that there are NO Pacifica's with
light taupe interior in Ontario or Quebec, so this will be a factory order available in 6-8 weeks.

Is this a good deal - should I go for it ?
  • msasarmanmsasarman Member Posts: 7
Finally signed on the dotted line - had a very pleasant esperience with a dealer that was very low key, no pressure, and offered a deal at Factory Invoice for a AWD model, fully loaded black with light taupe interior. This includes lifetime oil & filter change - the bad news is that we will have to wait for 6-8 weeks for our car which is a factory order.

I am very happy with the outcome. We can't wait.

Is anyone getting deals under factory invoice ?
  • liveanddriveliveanddrive Member Posts: 3
Although I don't like to discuss price paid (probably close to your's), I also have a Pacifica on order. It is now going on 5 weeks since the initial order. I can't wait! Mine will be the opposite of yours in color - Fully loaded AWD with Tan exterior and dark grey interior. I will let you know when I get a date of delivery.

I think at the rate they are selling, they should be sold for under invoice.

And why order? All dealers around me have ~30 Pacificas on their lots.
  • harryomaraharryomara Member Posts: 5
I ordered a pacifica five weeks ago and i was wondering if anybody knew how long the factory was taking to produce them?? My dealer does not seem to have any idea.
  • rubberfuzzrubberfuzz Member Posts: 8
Can some one help me out with the October rebates and cash back on pacifica. Not sure if the info I have is correct. $2000 Cash back to dealer? $750 rebate with a trade in?
  • mccda07mccda07 Member Posts: 4
I though the rebate was to the buyer. I could be wrong though as I did not really ask. My dealer is quoting $50 over invoice + the $2000 rebate. That saves my about $4000 under MSRP. Not sure if this is a good deal? Any thoughts. I would love to be at the $6000+ under MSRP that I have seen posts for...how did you arrive at this. I would like to know if and what amount folks have been paying under invoice AND does this include rebates and other incentives?? I am looking at FWD, heated leather, DVD, sunroof.
  • liveanddriveliveanddrive Member Posts: 3
Here is an update on our Pacifica order - we ordered on August 26th. Tuesday, October 7th, we were told that it was "en route". Received word today that it is in. Picking up Friday as we are getting it undercoated, paint and leather protection. So it has been 7 weeks total... I like the fact that it was a special order, hopefully will not have some of the minor bugs found in the earlier ones. Only time will tell. Yahoo now categorized pre and post August production...
  • bmwsellerbmwseller Member Posts: 200
    yeah, they're not selling..........

AutomotiveNews reports today that chrysler now has $3,000 rebates on Pacifica. cheap, cheap, cheap
  • 42684268 Member Posts: 3
Liveanddrive....could it be that Yahoo!'s designation of a Pre or Post August built Pacifica refers to Chrysler's move to a lower MSRP car with fewer standard features?
I am looking at a loaded Pacifica now that has been on the dealers lot since June. They recently made it a 'demo' with a $3k rebate in addition to the one Chrysler is offering. The car has 67 miles on it. Sounds like a good deal but... it was built in May of '03.
  • 42684268 Member Posts: 3
NEVERMIND!! This morning, the salesman tells me that I can get either the $3K 'demo' rebate or the $3K Chrysler rebate...not both. I still think they'll go to or below MSRP on a car they have set on for 4 months.
  • liveanddriveliveanddrive Member Posts: 3
When I posed the question to Daymler Chrysler Canada, here is how they responded:

DaimlerChrysler Canada appreciates your interest in the 2004 Chrysler
Pacifica. As you may be aware, this model was introduced earlier this
calendar year as a 2004 model. It is not unusual for production
adjustments to occur routinely in the course of a model year, including
progression to introduce features which were always intended but could
not be included in the initial production run. Following a hiatus for
retooling, production of other vehicle models has now moved into the
2004 model year as well. This routine model year change appears to be
    what your information refers to.

Repost of New Member forum: Bought a new 04 Satin Jade Pacifica AWD with Leather seats, heated, power liftgate. I think alot of people are missing out not looking at the pacifica. Now with a 3k rebate you can get a 35k msrp for about 28k, maybe a little less. I leased mine with no money down (zero due at signing) for $370 39 months. The sticker was 35k. Love the car so far, great options. The only thing that was a problem in the first month is the rear wiper has to be reset, goes off the glass. Getting used to the rear vision will be a chore, rear sensor should be a must. I don't see the issue with gas mileage and pick up. The engine performs well. I do agree a 5 speed automatic would be nice but the auto stick feature compensates for it. Can't wait to see how it will perform in the New England Snow!
  • mccda07mccda07 Member Posts: 4
ramzey28, How are you coming up with saving 7k below MSRP? Your vehicle with a 35K sticker would be about 31,800 less 3k rebate you are at just less then 29k. This is with you advertising fees added in. Why do you say 28k or less? What was dealer invoice on your vehicle and what did you negotiate below that. Please email me...you can find it by clicking my profile name. I am going to buy but have yet to find savings better then about 5500. Thanks.

Looking at a AWD demo with most options (except navigation) with a list of $39275. It has about 4K miles on it and about 4 months of the warranty is gone. Current asking price is 32,600. Invoice is 35,813; since I have no trade and plan to purchase outright I would take the $3K cash rebate. So invoice - rebate is 32,800. I do know that Chrysler gave the dealers a $3000 discount to buy cars as demos in July, so the dealer should have already got this break. Considering miles, eaten warranty and prior dealer discount, does 30K seem realistic if I buy by end of month?
  • vanvan2vanvan2 Member Posts: 3
Ok, I want to get the price down on a Pacifica I want, but I am more than 3K upside down. I need some help getting the price down. Any suggestions????
  • 90939093 Member Posts: 2
I bought an Onyx Green Pacifica with 30 test drive miles on it (almost all mine). I got the basic model, no leather, no nav, no DVD. Still lots of nice features, though. MSRP $29,525, invoice about $28,200. Including the $3,000 rebate, I was out the door for $24,200, which I think was a great price. I could have gotten it for $200 less at a dealership 3 hours away, but didn't want the color they had, so stuck to my home dealer. They were AWESOME, start to finish. Didn't want to give my my price, but I said I wouldn't negotiate (take it or leave it), and they didn't. Took 4 days, but they finally called back and offered exactly what I had told them I would pay. Great experience, from beginning to end. Some people have said Chrysler dealers are a pain, but S.J. Denham in Redding, CA was absolutely a pleasure to deal with!
  • vanvan2vanvan2 Member Posts: 3
Ok, got approved, but salesman said I need 5K to get the payments closer to where I want them (under $500) because I am so upside down in my trade. Anybody know any lenders? Is a note around $600 too much. I want to know how I can get another 5K off the selling price. . . any suggestions?
  • fsmmcsifsmmcsi Member Posts: 792
We looked at Pacificas and drove one yesterday. The dealer in Foothill Ranch, CA was offering $3,000 off in addition to the $3,000 off which Chrysler is now offering.
  • xineannxineann Member Posts: 37
We bought our Pacifica on November 9th in San Diego. Stone White clear coat, AWD, Leather, Cargo kit, CD/DVD changer and rear video, Intermezzo Surround Sound, power liftgate, chrome wheels. No navigation and no HID headlamps or heated seats. Paid $100 over dealer invoice, no holdback and got a $3,000 rebate, all said and told, just under $31,000 before taxes and stupid California VLF (almost $800. Apparently, I will be getting a refund check according to Arnold.) Took my trade at $1,000 over Edmund's estimate (I still ate $2k on it though) All in all, I thought it was a great price.

The dealership we went to was a 5 star, and honestly, I thought they treated me just as well as the MBZ dealership when I bought my E-Class, and WAY better than Audi when I bought my A4.
  • martys1martys1 Member Posts: 3
Picked up our Midnight Blue Pac on November 26th. We qualified for $3000 rebate, $500 Holiday cash, $500 coupon for returning DCX customer (came in the mail) and my wife just finished Graduate School for an extra $400 rebate. Our dealer could not remember the last time someone got 4 rebates. Not to mention the over $1500 we will get back on our Citibank card.

The 5 Star dealer here in Branford CT was also great in finding our car and giving us a price that was in line with Edmund's TMV. The buying experience was great.
  • kaitlin07kaitlin07 Member Posts: 9
how do you get 1500 back from citibank?
  • pud2pud2 Member Posts: 20
    Hi to you all!
My wife and I just recently "discovered" the Pacifica, and took a test drive in one a few days ago.
    Absolutely love it!
Now to the dilemma part.....We are right in the middle of moving to a new home we had built, and so it will be several months before we can finacially swing the Pacifica.
I understand Chrysler has shut down the assembly line until early next year, and then production will resume with MAYBE the 2005 model Pac....
Does anyone here, have any idea what(if any)changes will take place on the Pacifica??
I understand the deals right now are great, but we just cannot pull off a new mortgage AND a new car note!
I'm hoping we will get a nice auto, but won't have to pay through the nose in a few months!! 8-0

    TIA!!
  • ramzey28ramzey28 Member Posts: 130
He either charged his car on his card or some of it and gets back 1% cash back on his card. But in some states you can't finance a car on a credit card....so not totally sure.
  • martys1martys1 Member Posts: 3
Several years ago I signed up for a program called "Citibank Drivers Edge". They allow up to 2% of purchases up to $500 per year toward any new car. (I think they now allow used as well). I did not use the card to purchase the car. I have to wait until January 04 to start saving again since I already got my $500 for 2003.
