No Premium trim for S3; following are the numbers for the S3 Premium Plus:

36/12 - .00010 and 55%. Add 1% for 10K

Hi - I'm looking at a 2016 S3 with tech and upgraded radio with metallic paint. 36 months at 15000 miles per year. I have a quote of 603 a month with taxes rolled in (NJ). 1326 due at signing which includes dmv, document fees and the first month. Good deal? They're saying its at a .0001 mf and 50% residual.

S3 Premium Plus lease numbers for 36/10 are .00010 and 56%.

We would need to know the adjusted capitalized cost in order to model a payment.

I went to a dealer yesterday and they had an S3 I like, here are the numbers;


MSRP: $50,370
Invoice: $47,383
Cap Cost: $46,049.88
Customer Cash: $3500 (trade in)
7500 miles, 36 months
MF: 0.0006
Residual: 57%
Tax rate: 8.75%

Monthly payment: $528

Initially they gave me the car at invoice with MF of 0.0001, and then he massaged the numbers so the MF is marked up by 0.0005 with price of the car lowered to 46k, while keeping the monthly payment about the same. I asked if the MF could go down and he said no.

The "TMV" I got for a car with same configuration is $45,870 for my zip code.

Is this a decent deal? There are a few other similar cars in my area so I'm going to shop around today.

Dealers are reluctant to offer both a nice discount from sticker and the base MF - either you get a good discount but a marked up MF or less discount and the base rate.

Personally, I'd continue shopping around until you find a dealer willing to offer you both. I wouldn't sign a deal with an inflated MF.

How is the trade equity being applied? We don't recommend using it as cap reduction - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

Use it to address the up front fees, then have the dealer cut you a check for the balance.

Thanks for your help Michaell. I went to a different dealership and got about 1.4k under invoice and 0.0001 MF. Took your advice to only used trade in for fees and getting a check for the balance. It's toward the end of the month and dealer was willing to be more aggressive with pricing to meet their quota. Having the numbers from yesterday's dealer in hand also helped with negotiating a lot.

MF for the S3 this month is .00010. 36/15 residual for Premium Plus is 53%. Additional miles will cost .15/mile, deducted from the calculated residual (9000 x .15 = $1350).

Looking for the best deal possible and at this point i feel like I can do better. The only savings i see on that confusing sheet is 18 dollars from the 2018.00 in "savings"

I thought tax was included in the monthly on a lease?

Looks to be 2,018 discount on car. MSRP to the ClearCut Price. There are no lease details other than the rates. Money factor they are showing is really high for A or B tier. Current real factor of .00010 is an interest rate of 0.24% where .000176 is 4.22% Big difference.

Depending on state tax is handled differently. In many states tax is on monthly payment amount and additive or you can pay that amount upfront.

While it will be recommended you don't do this, if you rolled equity into lease, essentially putting about 5000 down you would be well under your payment of 500. You may be better off taking equity in cash and using it to add to monthly payment each month for difference.

You'll need to ask for lease details from dealer to see whole story.

I'm surprised they can go that high. Maximum markup is .00125 over base rate.

Hey guys - just wanted to share the #'s I got on my lease and as this forum has been extremely helpful for me. I used it to cross check residuals and MF on this lease and my last lease (2014 Lexus IS 250)

2016 Audi S3 Premium Plus w/ Black Optic and LED package

MRSP - $50,800
All-in cap cost $43,600 (including $680 previous lease buyout)
36 months/10K miles
$0 down
$499/month -> $508/month after I added Audi care, but I guess I get the pro rata portion of Audi care back (~$400) when I turn the car in at the end of the lease.

Base MF and residual applied according to what had previously been posted (.00010 and 56% I believe)

I bargained pretty hard for this and def think I pushed the dealership close to the limit. The financing paperwork guy had to call his boss 3 times because the computer would not allow him to discount the car to the price we worked out. According to my salesman the finance manager he worked the numbers with got yelled at the next day for letting an S3 go for this kind of deal. Could all be salesman fluff but at the end of the day I am very pleased with the deal I got and will definitely enjoy this beast of a car. Good luck everyone!

Hmmm thanks for running the numbers for me - I can go grab my official paperwork to update the figures with final actuals.

I paid $0 at signing so all fees etc were rolled into the lease. I am in Southern California. If something looks fishy I'd love to get your feedback. It is of course the dealers job to make it sound like everyone is getting a crazy good deal.

Put the miles into the lease up front; they are cheaper that way. (.15 up front, .25 at the end).

The 9000 miles are charged at .15 per (total $1350) and subtracted from the calculated 15K residual percentage.

48 month numbers aren't that great for Audi ... 48% and .00196.

Lease terms shorter than 42 months have a supported MF .. 51% and .00030 for 42/12, for example.
