Sussman is pretty easy to deal with. Prices quoted included destination. Doc. fees are $129 Then DMV and Tax is what it is. Good luck.

I am looking for a 06TL and the best price I received till now is 35,400 OTD. So I was wondering which dealer gave you this low price?
• bartalk3bartalk3 Member Posts: 692
Out the door price is meaningless. We don't know what the sales tax is in your state. Let us know the dealer's price before tax, etc., and also whether it's with NAVI or w/o.

Indianmonk,

Your deal sounds great. Do you mind telling me what dealership and salesperson you dealt with? Thanks.

I just received an e-mail from Power Acura in the LA area and he quoted me $33,157 plus TTL. This includes my back up sensor, I-pod music link, mud guards, wheel locks, and trunk tray. Is this a good price? I was wondering if anyone would know how much TTL will go for in the Cali area? It seems like the dealers dont want to tell you the TTL fee. Thanks for the help
• dmarcus48dmarcus48 Member Posts: 139
if that price includes destination charges, it sounds pretty good. I paid 32,655 + 400 (ipod), getting the backup sensors another $100 sounds like a great deal.

• bartalk3bartalk3 Member Posts: 692
The back up sensor alone is $1,100, isn't it? If so, you got a pretty good price (assuming yours has NAVI which you don't say which makes it impossible to assess your deal).

Sorry about that guys. And yes its a 2006 TL with Nav.

I saw this quote and i couldn't belive my eyes. But does anyone one know how much is TTL for the Cali area? Man this deal is so amazing that I wanna buy it today but i cant. Im stuck in GA for the time being and i wont be able to purchase this until the beginning of July

All –

Just paid $32.8K for a TL w/ Nav in the mid hudson valley area. Dealer supplied and installed wheel locks for free. Know that others were able to get it for ~$150 less, but two reasons why I chose this guy: 1) offered me his best price immediately; no jerking around, no long drawn out drama like I was taking the food from his kid’s mouth, and none of the: “come in and we’ll see hat we can do,” “we will wash and vacuum your car each time you bring it in,” “you get a full tank of gas, and floor mats,” etc. 2) Unlike many of the Acura dealers I met, he was non-transactional; he wanted me to buy my next car from him. Total time spent with this dealer <1 hour from call to deliver of automobile. Although the car is not for myself, I am very pleased with the vehicle; however, in comparison to their competitors (Lexus, Infinity, BMW, MB, etc.) the buying experience is horrible. I believe that dealerships needs to communicate the image and message of the brand; perhaps Honda has not yet fully decided on how they want to position the Acura brand (after so many years?) or perhaps they do not have enough control of their dealers – who knows. Either way, they make a good car; I need to replace my own vehicle in the months ahead and now have one reason to look into the RL.

How are you folks getting some of these great deals?

I live in the Seattle area and most dealers won't even go below 33,000 Base for a TL Auto w/Navi. (this doesn't include Dest)

I am contacting out of state dealers now and am looking at car shipment options.

Anyone gone that route before?

I am hoping I can get it sub 32k by going with a dealer in Cali somewhere and having it shipped up for $500-800

What dealer did you decide to purchase the TL from in the mid-hudson valley area? If you dont mind me asking, what were the other dealers that offered the (slightly) lower prices. Thanks in advance.

Heart Acura (DCH) Wappingers Falls – phone call, offered $32.8 immediately – great guy, no BS, not gimmicky, will work with him again. Despite short time spent with him; got the sense that he was very focused on customer service and relationship. Down to earth. Not sure if this is *allowed* e-mail me for referral details.

Curry Acura – Met with the guy, and took a drive – had the color we wanted. Told him my best offer; and he was hesitant to meet it. Claimed he did not know what his competition was offering. Ugh…Few days later, he offered $32,300 for the TL/Nav. Their revised offer came way too late; I already made a commitment.

Montclair Acura (DCH) ~$32,650 identified by dmarcus48; – but was a bit of a distance away for me

Acura of Norwalk – via internet, met the cars direct price immediately, but did not have the color. Plus every oil change for free – a great deal. Did not pursue lower price due to availability of color.

Acura of Greenwich– via telephone, offered the cars direct price immediately, but did not have the color. Did not pursue lower price due to availability of color.

Acura of Westchester – Stopped by on a Sunday. The sales guy was just horrible. A family member bought her car there several years back, though service department is great, I also recall issues with the sales staff. Perhaps that is why I have not looked at an Acura for over 10 years. The guy we worked with was rude, the test drive was uncomfortable. Beat the cars direct price by $200 – a bit arrogant and made it seem like they were doing me a favor by offering a full tank of gas, floor mats, and washing my car during service. Walked away.

Acura of Bedford Hills – First test drive of the car, pleasant sales guy, but we just could not agree on a price and make it work. *Cars direct, Edmunds, I know what people are paying…*

NWSoftie,
Greetings from LA. I love Seattle and have lived there two separate times (both times Renton and most recent 2004).

As some posts have stated before, the more competition of car dealers, the better chance of getting a good deal. Without counting, the LA area has about 15 Acura dealers within an estimated hour's driving time.

Although I never did purchase a car during the April special financing, I am still interested in the Acura TL and may buy at year end's model year.

I basically emailed all of the dealers in the area and said Dealer C is offering me this price and by "how much" can you beat that price? The unknown is when I actually get ready to buy, is will that dealer "honor" their email quote?

Regarding shipping, personally, I don't think it would be worth it, but that's just my personal opinion. If you come to LA, Santa Monica Acura "seems" to be the place for the best deal.

You can email me if you have other questions.

Good luck.

I am living in Seattle. Do I have to pay LA Tax if I buy a car at Santa Monica Acura?

Has anybody done this?

I qouted; It cost about $650 to ship the car to Seattle (door to door). I save about $1000 if pay no LA tax. I know I have to pay WA tax and license.

i bought my car at santa monica acura and i live in fresno. i had to pay fresno county's tax as opposed to santa monica.

i absolutely enjoy my car and i have not one single regret as to my purchase. diamond white with parchment. this friday i'm going to have the back windows tinted. cost $225. does this seem extravagant to anyone or is this in the ballpark?

paid 32,500 for a WDP TL w/ Navi, parchment int, wheel locks, all weather & carpet mats, mud flaps, trunk tray, body side moldings. 34,996 OTD w/ TTL. Got it from Ramsey on memorial day (end of month) which I think was the only reason they let it go. Park Ave. (went here first) wouldnt touch that price, neither would Montclair (salesman said so on the phone). Car had 6 miles on it at delivery, very professional service. Body side moldings were added later on because they were not in stock initially. Looks great!

I live in Florida, and for every car that
I've purchased in the last 20+ years, I've
had tint put on the windows. The highest
I've ever paid was for my current vehicle,
and that was $120 for the rear, the sides
of the front doors and the back doors.

Traded in a car at this dealership recently and they called me a couple weeks later demanding another $60 because they didn't bother to call my bank for the payoff on my trade in. Now that's what I call customer service!! Buy a new car off their lot and get a call from the GM for measly $60! Oh, and they threatened my credit rating if i didn't pay them promptly.

Check out their Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating of "D".

I have to say the Edmunds forums had a positive impact on my buying decision and the price I paid. Normally, I walk into a dealership and know exactly what I want, but this time I had a tough decision whether to go with Acura, Infiniti, or BMW. After several visits to each of the dealerships I landed on the TL with nav and have no regrets.

I have one thought to share with the readers. After you decide what you want to buy, always pick a dealership you like, trust, and are comfortable with. If this means driving across town, or to another city, then do it. You will always remember an uncomfortable buying experience and it will always be linked to the car you are driving.

Money aside, the dealership I chose to buy from influenced my decision by the civility of the sales process. For the Cleveland readers, I highly recommend Motorcars Acura-Volvo in Bedford. There was absolutely no "slime factor" at this dealership. In fact the experience was professional and enjoyable. Everyone was very courteous to my wife and my five year old daughter even asked to go back and visit them again. That is the kind of experience all dealerships should strive for. Everyone wins.

Sure, Motorcars is a business, and they want to sell you a car, but when you get home, you won't feel a compelling need to scrub yourself with a wire scrub brush to remove the slime. Five Stars to the dealership and the sales consultant who's name I wish I could post.

As my wife put it, the other dealership closer to home made her skin crawl. The price was right, but that didn't matter.

Good luck to all.

I just bought a TL w/NAV at the other dealership Acura of Cleveland-dealt with the lady salesperson. My experience was good, as it was at the Bedford dealership as well. I actually thought I got a better deal at my dealership at $32,600 before taxes-35,107 OTD. But who knows?

The important thing to me is that it is a great car-better than what I thought when I bought it and I took 3 test drives-BMW, Infinity G-35, Toyota Avalon Touring edition and the Lincoln Zephyr. No complaints so far-the car is rock solid with no rattles, accelerates nicely, is well appointed and is easy to use. Stiff suspension, but that is always the trade off for better handling. I would have had a harder decision to make if the Zephyr had come out with the bigger engine and all wheel drive that will be unveiled in October, buty I probably still would have bought the TL.

Requested quotes from Acura dealers in NJ for 2006 TL with Navigation.

The lowest I have seen is from Montclair Acura 32655(including destination and TTL Extra)

I spoke to internet managers at a few dealerships and Ramsey manager was talking about 2.9% :surprise: rate starting tomorrow.

Is this true? did any of you guys hear about this.

Thanks in advance.
• gonein60secgonein60sec Member Posts: 56
I got an email from OpenRoad Acura in NJ with the same offer of 2.9%. :D It didn't specify the dates in the email, only said it was for limited time.

I known Open Road's website said they will not only match any price but beat it by $200.
• gonein60secgonein60sec Member Posts: 56
I've been pricing the TL around the NY Metro area. Got a few quotes over the internet from some NY dealers (Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island) around early May and they were all pretty high ranging from $31,477 to $31,999 for 2006 TL Auto non-Nav and above $33K for Navi. Recently, I've expanded my search and the NJ dealers seem much more competitive. Montclair, Open Road and Ramsey were all within $150 of each other for Non-Nav model with the lowest being $30,785. The lowest quote I got for the TL auto w/Navi was from Montclair at $32,655 (incl dest.) As I mentioned in another post above, OpenRoad said they will meet and beat any price by $200. Can I expect better deals? I read somewhere that its a fair deal if the dealer still makes a 5% profit, so maybe there's still some money being left on the table with these deals? I'll check back with the NY dealerships again on pricing as 1 1/2 months have passed since those quotes. Any other dealerships you guys recommend?

Sorry for the newbie question, but for those that got protection pack thrown in your deal, what exactly does it include? Does this package include wheel locks, all weather mats, splash guards and cargo tray? Also, if you negotiate fore all season mats, do you get both the carpet mats AND the all season mats or just one or the other? Thanks, this thread has been very helpful so far.

On Tuesday I test drove a 2006 TL with 6 speed manual with NAV, black with parchment interior, no extras. This was at MacChurchill in Fort Worth, Texas.

After reading this board I made an offer of $31,500 and came up to $32,500. The manager said that the lowest he would go was $33,687, adding that he had to make "some money on this car". He would not sign a quote, however, and said his word was good. He was rude about it. He told me this quote was only good thru Sat. Though I liked the colors and look of this car, I decided to walk. I may call back last day of the month and re-offer $32,500 if they still have it. Thank God for the Edmonds boards.

However, if anyone else in North Texas can clue me in as to whether his price was reasonable for this area, I'd like to know.
• rishipriship Member Posts: 65
Well having worked at car dealerships I can tell you that no dealer will ever let you walk if you are willing to pay a price that they are willing to sell at. So if you offered 32.5 then he is not willing to sell at that price. Doesn't mean other dealers aren't, but he is not.
• rishipriship Member Posts: 65
I got an email that they have 2.9% financing available. In the past this has meant that there is also a $1000 dealer cash. Anybody know if this is true.
• gonein60secgonein60sec Member Posts: 56
I got an email from another Acura dealer, Montclair, and it says the 2.9% finance offer is good until July 1, 2006.
• kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,612
riship makes a good point...

Just because some dealers will sell at a certain price, doesn't mean all dealers will... You may have to introduce some competition to the equation, or actually purchase from a different dealer to get the lowest price possible.

Good advice, thanks riship and kyfdx. This particular dealer would not give me a signed quote. Would this be common elsewhere? Without a signed quote, how could I give other dealers something to compete with?

If this car is still available at the end of this month, would I have a better chance of buying it at a lower price?
• kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,612
It isn't unusual for a dealer to refuse to give you an offer in writing, for you to take with you.. That pretty much guarantees he won't get the sale, as some other dealer will just beat him by $50..

When you think about it, it probably wouldn't help you much, either.. As soon as you show another dealer the lowest price you've been able to get, he has no incentive to beat it by more than a little...

What a dealer really needs to think? That if he doesn't come down to your price, you are going to buy a different make/model car..

From what I have heard, I think you will have a tough time getting to 32.5. This seems to be about the bottom figure, and I don't think Dallas is that competetive. I do however think that you should get 33. If I were you I'd show them the invoice and tell them you know they have a holdback in addition to that. Offer 32.5, they will make a counteroffer. If you can get to 33 or less I'd probably take it.

First thing I would do though would be to email all dallas acura dealers and tell them you want a tl with nav. You may get 33 right off the bat.
• alleykat26alleykat26 Member Posts: 5
David McDavid Acura in Plano quoted a 2006 TL / Automatic with no extras for $31 + TT&L. Best quote I had gotten.
• musicman220musicman220 Member Posts: 15
Excellent advice and info, riship and alleycat. Thank you! I've sort of tipped my hand with David MacDavid Acura. They already know that a 6 speed manual TL with NAV is the car I want, not another model. So I probably won't get the best deal there. I'll have to go to Goodson to do it right. Manuals, especially with NAV are more scarce, so in a way, their price will probably be higher than an automatic.

Am I correct in assuming that only the Parchment interior has wood trim, and that this might up the price a bit?
• dmarcus48dmarcus48 Member Posts: 139
the parchment and camel interiors have the wood trim. ebony and graphite has carbon fiber.

We can now confirm a 2.9% interest rate from now until the end of June on the TL.

But can anyone confirm the rumor that there is also a $1,000 manufacturer-to-dealer incentive?

Does anyone have solid information?

Please confirm ASAP; it will give us more bargaining leverage.

How do I get confirmation/proof on the 2.9% financing?

I was at a dealership in Richmond, VA last night and I was told 4.9%. (4 yr loan)
• jrourkejrourke Member Posts: 72
How do I get confirmation/proof on the 2.9% financing?

Go to Acura.com, select TL, select Current offers, print out your own certificate to take with you:

Special AHFC A.P.R. financing available on all new 2006 Acura models. 2.9% APR financing for 24-36 months, 4.9% APR financing for 37-60 months available to customers who qualify for the AHFC Super Preferred credit tier. Example for any 2006 Acura model: 2.9% APR for 36 months at $29.04 a month for every $1,000.00 financed. Dealers set actual vehicle sales prices. See participating dealers for details. For well qualified dealers. Not all buyers may qualify. Higher rates apply for buyers with lower credit ratings.

Offer valid for through July 31, 2006, on any new and unregistered 2006 Acura model and only on approved credit by Honda Financial Services through participating dealers. Honda Financial Services' standard credit criteria apply. Example for any 2006 Acura: 2.9% for 36 months financing at $29.04 a month for every $1,000.00 financed. See dealer for details. Dealers set actual prices. Limited time only.

I bought a 2006 TL automatic with Navi from Goodson Acura in Irving for $32750. Their service dept has been awesome too.

I had one salesman tell me there is currently no dealer cash available. Has anyone heard different?
• ralston1ralston1 Member Posts: 28
There is no dealer cash incentive on 2006 MY TLs. TLs have been consistent in sales volume. So, don't bank on factory incentives on the 2006s.

There is $500 dealer cash on new 2005 TLs if you can find them. Acura Cleveland has two 2005 TL 6-speed navs in anthracite/camel color combos.

Also, the 2.9% APR is for 24-36 months and 4.9% for 37-60 months through 7-31-2006.
• justalaguyjustalaguy Member Posts: 37
I received emails from two different dealers in the LA area. First one said special financing through 30 June but second one said through 31 July. I don't recall reading anything about the $1,0000 incentive. That would be nice.
• gonein60secgonein60sec Member Posts: 56
Yeah, I got two different dates from two different dealers as well. The Acura website says the 2.9% financing offer (36 months) or 4.9% offer (60 months) is good through July 31, 2006. However, it also says participating dealers, so maybe its up to the dealers to set the dates they want to participate? Can't see a reason why a dealer would not want to participate for the full length of the promotion as it drives customers through their dealership.
• ralston1ralston1 Member Posts: 28
Dealers will use June 30th to induce some urgency for the end of month. All Acura stores have Honda Financing contracts as part of the dealer agreement. So, all Acura stores have access to the Honda rates and those rates are available until 7-31-2006.

Need clarification janber and alleykat26...

Your prices listed don't mention the doc fee. A normal doc fee should be around $45, but I've seen some posts on this board where the dealer charged as much as $400. It's their way of artificially lowering the price to make the deal, only to make it back in the doc fee.

Destination is also something that's sometimes conveniently left out of a quote. It's imperative to get a complete breakdown from the dealer so you know all the facts. So many prices on this board are without value to us without these items listed.

Been analyzing this for months and finally pulled the trigger yesterday and took delivery today. I needed a TL for my business and a new Accord for my wife's car. I had been stalling thinking about the 07 TL update, but finally said to heck with it.

I bought an 06 TL with Navi for $32,575 inc destination - right about invoice. I got the Accord EXL Auto for $22,137 also right near invoice. Worked the deal via Norm Reeves Acura/Honda in Temecula, CA (north of San Diego). "Worked" is generous - they quote very aggressively from the start and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in the Los Angeles or San Diego Area.

I did all the paper work via email yesterday and my wife and I were in the dealership for right at an hour - the process was very smooth, no add ons, no BS. Every thing was as per the phone calls/email. The only wait we had was the Accord prep since it just came off the truck. The TL had 6 miles on it and the Accord had 5 miles on it :)

Congratulations on your car purchases. I too have been looking at the TL for the last few months but have not purchased yet.

Are there going to be major updates for the TL for 2007? What are the updates "planned"? Just wondering how different the 07 will be from the 06?

I live in LA and could you send me the price breakdown you received - for example, car cost? destination charge? doc fees? TTL? From reading other posts, it seems some dealers are "jacking up" their doc fees as a way to make extra profit.

Thanks, and from what I've seen, read, and test driven, you bought a nice car in the TL.
