Anything's possible... However, that seems aggressive. Not sure if there is still a $1500 rebate? Don't know what state you're in, so don't know sales tax rate. But an '07 TL w/Nav for $29k otd sounds like a heck of a deal. Don't think it's do-able, but you could try...

Since it helped me to read this board for a while before buying let me give back a little. 2 days ago closed the deal for a 2007 TL-S carbon bronze auto. Price plus destination (ie before TTL) was $33,700. I am in So. Cal Orange Co.

YES the $1500 dealer incentive is still active.

You can get the $1500 OR use AFHC 2.9% financing but not both. The price to use 2.9% was $1500 more and if I wanted to lease it was $500 LESS than the $33,700.

USE THE INTERNET TO BUY -- if you are reading this you know how to use it and email. Don't waste your time trying to negotiate in the dealership - do it all by email before. Use the Edmunds site to send request for quote to the nearby dealers. By the way -- prices ARE different in different parts of the country for various reasons. Use the Edmunds TMV new care pricing tool -- for my zip the regional adjustment is MINUS $531 -- when I put in some midwest or east coast zips it ADDS $.

Have dealers put quotes and revised quotes in an email -- then you have something to send them to match or beat. MAKE SURE they have your color too as they will string you along acting like they can take care of you because THEIR OBJECTIVE IS TO GET YOU TO WALK IN THE DOOR.

I bought form Mission Viejo Accura and it went real easy. I wont give you OTD price because with 7.75% tax rape (I mean rate) its not comparable. Base everything on the PRICE INCLUDING DESTINATION. Remember this was a TL-S that has a sticker of $38,800 whereas the TL base is $34,300 and base plus navi sticker is $36,900. So you should be able to get $4K to $5 off depending on how much stock and what they need to move and 08's are in. I got $5100 off sticker and you KNOW they made money.

"i want to spend 29k with tax, do u think it is possible to get the acura tl with navigation. Thanks "

Why spend 29k while Herbert can get you one for 26.5k. :confuse:

    You, me and Herb!

While you can try, I wouldn't worry too much about trying to get the best deal in the history of the internet. Rather, again, use the info available here and elsewhere and negotiate the best deal for you on the car you want.

I got a good deal, I'm happy. I'm sure other folks got better, but all I can do is be glad for them. Invoice less the rebate would probably be a good deal. Or a good starting point? ;)

    Eagle718,

I just did and it came in at over $31,000. You are talking ConsumerReports.org correct? Show me the dealer that will sell a base TL for 26,500 or even 28,500 and I will buy in the morning. I think you have your facts wrong.

    MC

When did I ever say you could get a TL for $28,500??? All I said is that you can use the consumerreports car report for current information.
  • wontonwonton Member Posts: 2
Just purchased a TL w/ NAV for $31,900 before TTL (includes destination) in the Balt/DC Metro area. The $1,500 cash was still available. Colors were somewhat limited.
  • kennyg8kennyg8 Member Posts: 225
Haha, I was just toying with you. I know that price is unrealistic, even if you wait until Dec 07. Just a fair warning about buying a car in Dec, at which time you should expect to pay less for a car that is already more than one year old. TL is not a slow selling car, and if one is still available in Dec, you should be carefully before you buy, even if it is "new" and "never titled."

There are several reasons, including, without limitation: (1) bad color combo that few people want; (2) early production date that people try to avoid because it has been sitting in the dealer's lot for more than 12 months for whatever reason; and (3) there may be flaws with the car that people have noticed and refused delivery. So, if paying the lowest price is your sole criterion, you better watch out because what you pay for may very well be what you get and deserve.

I am not trying to be cynical, but just letting people know that when they visit forums like Edmunds, the prices people honestly report are likely fair market prices, and anything out in the left field should raise red flags immediately.

I think MC is confusing you with the now legendary Herb "$26,500"...

What's the true cost of Acura TL. I just got a quote from a dealer in PA for $30,300. He is quoting $5k less than than the MSRP on demo cars too. Is that a good price on TL?

    Thanks,

I am closing a deal next week on a brand new 08 carbon bronze type-s, 6m with full underbody spoilers. I negoitated for a week and a half via emails with 5 dealers in 2 states. My OTD price is 38,413.00. I bought in NC. I feel that this is a pretty good deal. Can't wait to drive it. What are your thought on this price?

I recently purchased an Acura TL with navigation, after many hours of research and dealing with four salesman and managers from three dealerships I finally purchased my TL from Acura in peoria from a internet manager named Frank Town. The process was fairly smooth and the customer service was excellent. I got my car for $34,300 before fee's. I would highly reccomend them to anyone looking for an Acura in the valley.
  • eagle718eagle718 Member Posts: 13
I think is a pretty good price on an 08. The best quote I received for a 2007 Type-S was $37.7k OTD, using the 4.9 financing. Was your deal using the financing?
  • blooskiblooski Member Posts: 9
I got a quote for 2009 Acura TL FWD/Tech Package for a sale price $33,500. This is including destination charge and dealer fee. But I am stuck with the trade in value they want to offer me for my Infiniti FX35. As per Blackbook it has a trade in value of $27,000 (lowest out of KBB,NADA,Blackbook,Edmunds), the dealer want to pay only $26,000.
Is the trade in value looks OK or should I do some more bargaining?
  • brywbryw Member Posts: 9
Yes, I made sure that they included the 4.9% in the deal. I can't wait. I am also having them tint the windows.

I was just wondering wat is the best color preference for acura tl 2007 with nav.

  • laurasdadalaurasdada Member Posts: 5,240
The best color is the one that you decide is the best color. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And in the wallet of the buyer!

Mine is Abyss Blue. I was going to buy Anthracite, but I see so many Anthracite, and my neighbor has one! So, I had to be different!

Buy what pleases you the most.

my favorite is white with black interior.

I have to agree - white with black interior is a gorgeous combo. I actually have the black/silver interior & love it. I love everything about my car, actually!

I have the Type S, and there aren't many on the road around here, so mine gets lots of 'looks'. The more I drive this car, the more I love it :)

With the arrival of the 2008 models, there are obviously some good deals on 2007s. Does anyone have experience with negotiating for the purchase of a 2008 and a 2007 at about the same time? How much lower are the quotes for the 2007s vs. the 2008s? Just curious whether its worth the extra money at this point to buy a 2008. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

After a week negotiate, we closed a deal of 2007 TL with Navi today. Our out of door price is $33,700. The deal including floor mat and cargo net plus lifetime oil change for free. The price before quote is about $31,633. We got our preferred color.

The dealer is Rad ley Acura in northern Virgina. Purchasing experience is good.

I think you got a pretty good deal for 08 model. I'm in the market for 08 TLS myself, just wondering if you have installed any other accessories other than full underbody spoilers for that price ($38413.00).
  • billikenbilliken Member Posts: 9
What is included in the "out the door" price? Thanks for the help.

Great price. I just emailed a dealer in PA for a base 07 TL
and they emailed back a quote of MSRP. What are they thinking. Old Mike

    Hi,

I'm considering purchasing a 2007 Acura TL but I have read many reviews that mention some type of rattle in the car while driving. Is anyone experiencing this?

Plus, I noticed on the test drives that the car slows down a lot instead of continuing to cruise along when I take my foot off the pedal.

What are your real MPG for this car?

Thank you for taking time to respond to this post. I appreciate it.

I e.mailed 3 dealers threw edmunds here in south FL. All sent e.mails back saying they could not reach me by phone and would not put a price in there e. mails. I stated exactly what I wanted and the MSRP on the window. Dont want to talk to them until I see if I like there price.

I purchased a 2007 Acura TL type S (AT) from Performance Acura in Chapel Hill, NC on 8/16/07. Carbon bronze with taupe interior. I found this dealership to be outstanding.
They were very professional and understood the market conditions for the 07 TL type S. There internet sales department is great. I found it a waste of time to try and work with other acura dealers in the area. I have not had any problems with the car and do not have any rattles or complaints. However, I only have 50 miles on the car.
  • kev10kev10 Member Posts: 6
billiken, out of door price equals out of pocket price. It includes TL price + TTL + fees. I found even after I got a good price quote, salesman still can manipulate the final price through fees. There is no standard for fees. In my case, I saw one of the fee is "online fee". So I end up with negotiate with out of door price and let salesman to do the rest calculation.

I just bought a 2007 Type S for $34,140. In addition to the good price, the dealer upped my trade-in by $1,000 over initial offer.

I looked at '08s, but there wasn't any real difference between the model years and the discount was a lot less, only about $1,500 off list.

All in all, a good deal for me, about $5K off list. They really wanted to move the vehicle.

    Hi Kev10

I guess you got the best deal from the research I have done so far.

I would really appreciate if you could tell, you got the '$33,700' out of door price with the special APR of 2.9 or 4.9%. OR it was without the special APR.

    Thanks again for your help.

Please alleviate any buyers remorse that might creep up over the price I paid for a one of the few remaining '07 TLs (no NAV).... $32.4K which includes tax, title,& doc in North Carolina. It seemed to be best I could find on '07, and below current '08 pricing.
  • crw1crw1 Member Posts: 3
Offered $31,000 for a 2007 TL w/ no NAV based off of Consumer Reports bottom line ($30,509 dealer invoice). Following response is:

"Your offer is a good one. However, it is below my true dealer invoice which I cannot do. Washington state dealer Invoice on that car is $30,848 (invoice) + $150 (NW advertising fee) + $200 (PDI/Post Delivery Inspection) + $670 destination) = $31,868. This also doesn't include the Protection Package (splash guards, trunk tray, wheel locks) $384.57 which brings the price to $32,252.57. So where your offer is a good one, I need for it a bit stronger and closer to true Washington State Dealer Invoice."

OK, invoice is about $350 more than Consumer Reports. What concerns me is the "NW advertising fee", "Protection Package" and the "PDI". What is all of this and is this something I can just say NO too? I definately feel it is not justifiable from a buyers standpoint. I also read in another discussion that the Protection Package is pure dealer profit. This is our first purchase of a luxury sports sedan so I'm just making sure I've got everything covered. Thanks!

The salesman told me I can get $1500 manufacture incentive OR 2.9 financing. But not both. So I paid cash and no trade in.

Why is it that the Edmunds True Market Value is significantly higher than most prices paid that are included in this forum? Should the staff (or computer formula) who calculate TMV be factoring in some of the up-to-date info from this and other forums? Based on browsing forums for several cars I'm considering, it appears that the Edmunds TMV is useless and that these forums are a great help in finding out what a good price should be for a new car. :confuse:

For example, when I pointed out to several Acura dealers (when getting e-mail quotes over the past couple of weeks) that the web shows that I can get a 2007 base TL for $30K or less they all adjusted their quotes to $30K +/- a hundred bucks. These dealers are in the DC Metro area.

How We Calculate New TMV® Prices

Edmunds.com has a proprietary system for calculating TMV. Obviously, they don't disclose exactly where the information comes from. I'm fairly certain that they don't use the Prices Paid Forums for the information.

Another thing to consider. Most CarSpace.com forums users are doing serious research about pricing, before they buy a car. TMV takes into account the whole market.

Can you email me the name of the sales person. My email address is mohans60@hotmail.com. I did have a price quoted to me and was changed just when I wanted that confirmed by email.

We are in the D.C. area and there aren't many Acura Dealers nearby. I have been quoted invoice (roughly $30,800) on a 2007 Base TL w/o Navi. That does NOT include Destination or TTL, so OTD will be roughly 33,500. Dealer won't budge below invoice on base price. We are using 2.9% financing.

Please help --- Is this at least a decent price?? I am not willing to fight for the last $100 or $200, as we are in a hurry to buy, but I don't want to be stupid. MANY THANKS.
