I found one dealer that's willing to sell @ invoice, can probably get them to kick in some of their dealer cash as well.
I believe the holdback is around 2.5% of MSRP, which is about 700 bucks for the non-navi TL. Don't count on getting any dealers to part with the holdback, because that is like their bottom line to pay for rent, commissions and other overhead expenses. If the car is not selling well, or if it is end of the month or quarter and the dealer needs to meet a quota, then perhaps it MAY consider splitting the holdback with you. Good luck!
I have a quote now for a TL-S MT for $34,338, which is $1,073 below invoice.
If so, please indicate which state the quote came from. I'm in MA.
Just working out some minor details like including some accessories.
But remember, they only offered me the dealer cash when I said I would pay the car off entirely, otherwise they were pushing their 2.9% financing.
He said $1500 is only available to lease. Anybody heard similar story?
I was just about to close the deal, but before doing so, wanted to make sure the mileage on the car they were transferring was less than 10 miles and that they planned on using a flatbed do transport it. They responded the car they were getting for me has >50 miles on it and they are going to drive it over (in essence charging me $200 for this service of additional wear and tear on the car)
Would anyone else out there be displeased like I am? This car they are transferring is probably the model that has been test driven, probably test beatened.
So what's next for this vehicle? I assume it would go off to auction and be sold there. Do you think it would be sold for more than $33K? I wouldn't think so. If it goes to auction, does the factory offer additional rebates to offset the expected lower sales price which makes it preferable to auction it off instead? What can the dealership do to accept $30K + TTL and still have something in it for themselves?
I get one with $1300 over invoice.
Both from same dealer:
Non-navigation TL: If you are going to use the special apr' s offered through AHFC then the price is $ 30,645 (includes destination, mud guards, wheel lock, trunk tray) plus fees (ttl). Subtract $1500 if using your own financing, leasing, or cash.
With Nav, including same as above $32,884 - minus $1500 if you dont use their special financing.
After driving a Type S today, I think that is the direction I am going if I decide on an Acura (still comparing vehicles). Got one price at invoice, and one about $300 under. I asked the same place that I got the GREAT TL pricing above from, but havent heard back from them yet. I expect it to be better than the $300 under invoice price.
Anyone find anything better than these prices? :shades:
The other vehicle I'm looking at is the G35X. For July, the residual (57%) and money factor (.00193) for a 36 months/15k lease is much better and payments are $100 less a month ($517). I prefer the TL's exterior and interior but with the G35X having more power and AWD, I don't think I can stomach paying an extra $100 a month for the Acura.
I see invoice is 34,968. Holdback of 2.5% of retail is 953.
Using 7% New Jersy tax do you think if I could get one for 36,000 TTL?
what dealer in So Cal???
Manual Transmissions seem to be very difficult to find, this was the last one on the lot. Got them to kick in $1,400 of the Acura marketing money, plus I had a coupon for an additional $250 off that I used after negotiating the deal.
I could have easily gotten them to sell the car for $34,000 flat, but decided to let them keep $100 bucks.
Good luck shopping, and if you're searching for a MT, the picking might become tough.
Appreciate your time...
I had a similar offer when I went for my G.
They found the exact model I wanted at another dealer, 200 miles away.
They wanted to charge me $250 to drive it and $850 to flatbed it.
I decided to special order straight from the factory and had to suffer the horrible wait.
All because I didn't want some hack driving my new car.
The first miles are critical, and I wouldn't have known what kind of miles they were.
How is a quote of $31,900 OTD for a 07 TL without Navigation? Since I am in PA, this is approximately 29950 (base) + 1800 (6% tax) + 150 (tags, documentation, etc).
Thanks.
Thanks Old Mike
Email them through powerdirect.com and do a price request - thats how I got the great prices!
Good luck
Yes I am not taking the low interest loan. I have been talking to dealers in the langhorne to king of prussia area (north of philly). I have not finalized my purchase, but I feel I should be able to get a deal for the OTD price of around 31900-32000.

Is there room to negotiate?
Invoice $34,625
Dest. 670
total 35,295
tax 2,471
sub 37,776
TL 575
Total $38,341
Am I right?
I'm going to the new dealer this evening to try to hammer this out...unless one of the others gets back to me with a better price in the meantime!
One more thing, Edmunds is showing a $1,500 manufacturer give back to the dealer for every TL sold in July but it appears that is only good if the special 4.9% financing is not used. I assume that's what allowed this new dealer the ability to give me a quote below Edmunds invoice price. So I'm searching for the best deal in financing outside Acura as well.
save yourself some time and try doing it over the phone with the internet manager. They always seem more interested in giving a better deal when your not there.
