The dealership has a Red/parchment available which I found very attractive as well (I was thinking about Silver or Antracite so I didn't pay much attention to other colors initially). The dealership offered me at $30.5K and I accepted.
In addition, I got the wheel lock at $45 - the claimed retail is about $70. Total paid = (30.5K+wheel lock ($45)+tax+lic+ doc fee ($45) + tire fee ($5)).
I know there was a 1500$ manufacture rebate for the 03's but are there any other ones? Someone posted a few pages back about a 4,000$ rebate, does this really exist?
Anybody have a clue what a good price for this car would be? Thanks, Tom.
thx
All the TL-S models in the US have been gone for months.
As far as a good price for it, I wouldn't pay more than $26,000.
They are all VERY thin on availability. For the color I wanted I was told there were only 9 coming into California in the next 2 months and that Acura would probably keep the supply tight to keep the prices up.

Thanks all, this is really a nice forum.
It seems she's been babied. Hardly a scratch on her. Obviously garaged. Barely any outward signs of wear.
QUESTION - With 75K on the odometer, should I be expecting some major repair bills in the near future. The TL has received many high ratings for reliability, but you guys know best.
Price - $33,995
Doc Fee - $298
Tax - $1019
Title/Tag - $61
TOTAL - $35,373
Everyone else in NC was offering MSRP or around $34,800 with negotiating, so I feel good about this deal.
Has anyone else in Western Canada been told by their dealer about this?
I purchased a new TL from Acura Carland on 1-10-04. I was very pleased with my overall sales experience. This was actually my second TL to buy from Acura Carland, as I had bought a 2002 TL Type-S two years ago and ended up using it for a trade in.
I used these message boards to find out a relative starting point for new TLs, and found that most dealers were still sticking pretty close to MSRP, but some were starting to come down $500+.
I was able to get the new car (Satin Silver/Quartz Interior/without Navi) for $32,135 (includes destination fee) + $299 (Doc Fee) + $800.38 (taxes) + $21 (Warranty and Title) for a sum total of $33255.38. I received a trade in of $21000 even (I had 22,400 miles on my '02) which I was satisfied with. Kelley's Blue Book estimated my trade in to be worth between $20,345 (Good) and $21,575 (Excellent) while Edmund's estimated between $19,782 (Clean) and $20,403 (Outstanding). My former car certainly had some minor scratches as expected, but also had some apparent water spots in the paint and a gash in one of the wheels from an encounter with a curb. Plus, I was in need of two new tires, possibly four.
So, all in all, I felt good to get $1000+ off the sticker price and what I would call a very good trade in amount. Plus...I got the dealer to throw in a wind deflector for the sunroof, mudflaps, and trunk tray for no additional charge (probably worth an additional $250+). In the end, after my pay off, I was able to drive out of the dealership with lower monthly payments on my '04 TL than my '02 b/c of a better interest rate and lower "balance due on delivery" with no money down other than the small amount of equity I had built up.
For example, if the new car costs $40,000 and the trade-in allowance is $20,000. The buyer pays GST of 7% or $1400. But does the dealer have to remit just the $1400, or does he report sales of $40,000 and remits 7% of $40,000, or $2800?
I will most probably making the deal this weekend. Here is the pricing I have recvd
Price = 30,220 (Includes PP) + Destination)
+ TT
I do have the offer emails. I suggest folks that you please try aggresively to negotiate.
Thanks
This is the pricing that was offered to be in NJ. This is not any specifc color combo. I made sure of that, but it may be for cars on the dealer lot. I was looking for the silver/ebony combination.
Waiting on delivery of Redondo Red/Parchment/Navi coming Feb. 29th-I'll probably take delivery first weekend in March. Didn't have to order-happened to be on the manifest for delivery.
Test drive: Very impressed with build quality, ride (I'll probably switch tires), and sound system. Great salesman who sat with me patiently and went through the Navi and other details.
Interestingly, I was overwhelmed at first with the navi and thought I would let it go but by time I was done with the test drive and it recognized ALL my voice commands instantly I did a one-eighty and now I own it. It's impressive and I will use it. Keep in mind-I'm driving a 1993 Accord right now-the TL felt like the Space Shuttle to me. Now my Honda is a winter rat.
Acura was offering $1,00 off MSRP. I took it. Gov. Pataki adds 8% (ouch!)-total $37100-minus $100 from a referral from another customer-$37,000. Some will do better, some will do worse but I'm happy with the experience.
I mentioned I'll probably switch the tires. Not because the ride was bad but because postings here have convinced me it could be better so in a few months I'll look into it.
kph-is it possible I'll be in my car before you are in yours? Go figure.....
Might have to celebrate with a weekend in TO. Heck the deals for hotel, theater, and meals are outta sight now. Need to get back to the Royal York.
I didn't buy any additional accessories (the deal included wheel locks, mudflaps, trunk tray, all weather matts). I'll look at the Falken tires "dulnev" has a chubby for. I think they are all season. This is a great car. I don't remember did you buy yet? What do you have?
We have only one Acura dealer in a 175 mile radius, so obviously they want MSRP even for the non-nav!
If I buy a car in another state, would I have problems with getting my car serviced at the local dealer, would I have to pay the sales-tax of the state where I buy the car?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Yeah - you will be in yours before I get mine. However, if I had wanted to, I could have gotten a Red/Parchment right about now. I really wanted to wait until second half of March, both for weather reasons, and because I have a *huge* design review at work on 3/15, and I can't afford the distraction of wanting to go for a drive in my new TL. Once that review is past, I will want the distraction...
Let us know when you get it, and your impressions. I need to go in to my dealer soon and talk about a trade in (have to be within 60 days of delivery for the quote to be good) and tweak a couple of accessories. Want to broach the subject of the tires then, too.
Toronto's a great town for dining & entertainment. If you ever need a hotel or restaurant recommendation, let me know. We're headed for Niagara-On-The-Lake this weekend. Looking forward to the drive.
P.S. Falken makes a great performance summer tire: The Azenis ST-115 Ultra High Performance "Silent Tire".
I'm trying to imagine this car riding BETTER with different tires. Like I alludded to earlier this TL won't see a winter for as long as I can hold out driving this Accord. That won't be easy. Need to figure out an anti door ding strategy at the Med Center parking lot where I work.....
kph-I'm a little concerned how the weather will be in a few weeks. If it's like last year it'll be fine. But what the heck-it's a nice surprise to get the car this soon and here comes Spring.
FYI.. Doc fees/License etc totaled about $200 more.
Document fee usually is $50 dont pay more. Good job wbernie51
