I bought the 08 TL with Nav and Pro pack from Metro Acura out of Philly. I know I could've done better but I paid $30400 with an OTD price of $32060. I also took 2.9% APR for 60 months. Pretty much everyone in the area are starting their price around $30700 without the pro pack.
Bought a 2006tl navi from open road in Oct 2005 paid 34118 with destination, doc fee and propac. That did not include and tax, tag or title. Bottom line of the sticker was 35940 and it was new model, first few weeks of availability, no incentives either. I am looking for a new 2008 tl navi. Have gotten 30089 including destination and doc fee only, no propac, tax tag title. What is the bottom line price anyone has paid? What exactly is in the propac, I suspect most of it is already included in the car, like mudflaps, trunk mat, cargo net? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What are the current incentives, when do they end?
I should not pay a dime more than the best deal!!!!!!!!!
Went local today in VA, bought a 2008 NAVI, w/ propac. 29,669 plus 399 doc, plus TTL. Included pin stripe. I think that is about the lowest I have seen.
you should be able to get a type-s for $31,500-32,000 tops, dont let dealers fool you, if not walk out..3500 off invoice and there is 642$ in hold back fees..ive been giving quotes at dealership of 31,500 and 32000 but walked out when they wouldnt waive the $500 doc fees and would not locate the color i wanted..
if i have to ill wait for xmas and after the new year when the car is older and they have to move them bad....
btw, look at the Mercedez benz c350, there giving 10k off sticker, i almost bought one but all they had left in my area was black and dark blue(no go for me) but what a nice riding car...my friend ended up getting the c300 4matic , real nice but too slow for me
I'm also looking for a Type-S. Problem is, there are not that many of them left. I've been scouring the internet contacting different dealers throughout the country. My experience so far has been that if you're in the 32K+ range, you're doing pretty well (that would still be over 3000 below invoice). If you want a particular color, you have to really look for it too. I sort of low-balled one of the dealers, and they came back saying that they would not budge on their initial offer! Now I'm playing the awful waiting game. In addition, if I find one out of town somewhere, I would expect to have to pay some kind of transfer fee to get it to my town, unless I make a major time and gas investment to drive it all the way back. What do you think?
I bought an 08 S about 7 months ago for 33.4 plus TTL from Rizza in Chicago. Given the extra $1k available now and the limited supply I would suggest you go ahead. The new S will be more complex and will cost you at least probably 10K more when it comes out.
im planning on holding out till around xmas and new year, if i dont get one for the price im looking for , i will go for a MB C350 or Lexus...i honestly dont think paying over $32k is worth it on a 08 TYPE-S NOW, just my opinion, cause come the new yr. that car will depreciate a ton.
Price Paid: $36,500 + $400 + TTL in a few extras that I didn't have the guts to negotiate off after arriving (finally) at the $36,500 price. I believe the $400 included a trunk tray/liner, 4 wheel locks, something else that I cant remember now, that wasn't terribly substantial.
There was a trade involved. 2003 Merc CLK500 for $15,000 credit. 54K miles, loaded with everything but a built in phone. (distronic, parktronix, xenons, navi, etc)
Shopped around for over a month and think I came up with a good deal. Let me know what you think:
2009 Acura TL w/ Tech 36 month lease 12,000 miles per year 2,000 total at signing 469 a month which includes tax Free scheduled oil changes for 3 years
Thanks for your input. The offer that I have now is 32,985, which includes a very high doc fee, but does not include TTL. I think this is a fair deal.
A major issue, however, is that this is an out-of-state purchase, and I am planning on closing the deal by phone/fax/Fedex, then having the car delivered to me. Any idea if this is a risky proposition? What are the chances I will get a lemon?! This is a brand new car from what appears to be a legit Acura dealer. Wonder if any problems I might run into over the ensuing weeks/months can be fixed at a local Acura dealer and covered by the factory warranty, or would this turn into a blame game between manufacturer and dealer of origin, with me left holding the bag?
where did you get your deal, im in the philly area just outside the city. The best i can get is no where close, can you provide the money factor and selling price that was used and a dealer and contact person
I have never done this type of purchase but if your are buying it from an Acura Dealer and it is new, your warantee should be effective at any dealer. I guess the only real issue might be damage in shipping but I am sure the carrier is covered. Is it too far for you to go and pick it up? Shipping tends to be expensive.
Acura's are very reliable so the chance of a "lemon" would be very low - the dealer would not know if the car is a lemon without driving it- so there is no way to "unload" a lemon.
The S is a very nice car my issues are minor: 1. no rain gutter in the door so water runs down the door panel when the door opens in the rain. 2. Center arm rest is not big enough for CD cases - since the car has a 6 CD changer go figure? 3. The trunk is so well finished there is now way to tie the trunk down if your hauling something long. I guess you not suppose to haul lumber with an Acura.
I am enjoying mine. I thought I had the Doc fee thrown out but on re-inspecting my bill I had $!50 under DOC fee line. I think they "explain it" as something else as they had quoted me $495 which I told them no way!
We will have a limited production Acura. I get complements on my often.
I think he said Newport News Virginia. Have you tried Boardwalk Acura in AC? I almost bought there but ended up at Precision Acura in Princeton. 36 mo 10yr $871 down which includes 1st month on a Tech w/splash, side molding, locks and all season mats for $539 per. Honda lease with $1500 in mileage/wear forgiveness. Which is like 7K miles over.
I think what I will do is call up local dealers' service depts and make sure they do warranty work on a car purchased at an outside dealership.
I also asked the dealer to send me pics of the car. They already faxed me the woindow sticker.
I would like to fly there and take care of it, but there are some pressing family obligations at this time that would make it difficult for me to get away for even a day (I acknowledge that my timing is quite miserable). Also, I found some vehicle transport quotes for $400-550, which includes full coverage insurance. To me, that's a relative drop in the bucket. And I'd feel kind of bad if I went to pick it up (instead of transporting) because I would automatically put ~400-500 miles on it (distance between dealer and me) right from the day of purchase.
There's also the issue of car seats. I'm in the process of checking out local models (that are either wrong color or wrong trim) to see if they will accommodate an infant and a child safety seat. If they don't fit well, then I may need to go with another car altogether (which may cause me to go into full-blown depression).
MSRP 39445 Agreed Price 35550 Cost Reduction 395 Doc fee + Reg +Bank Fee + 1st month payment 1605 (so 2k total at signing) MF .00211 469 a month including all taxes
I can't say the dealer because they did not want me to "spread the word" as they cannot sell them that low to everyone. (700 under invoice) But it is in NJ. I negotiated my [non-permissible content removed] off for this deal though and talked to mutiple dealers. Many will say they can't do this low, which is wrong because they can- but their profit will be extremely slim so they may not want to.
The dealer I bought my 08 S (Joe Rizza in Chicago) currently has 20 in stock (1 Black/black S). I suspect they will give you a good deal. Good internet sales group.
They are not selling well (guess this is true to every dealer/brand). I keep getting email from dealer which I sent an email one month ago. But I decided to postpone my new car purchase for another year.
i see the incentives are the same until 1/5/08. has anyone had any experiences with south florida acura dealers? My dad called a dealer today in ny, without even haggling first price given to him was 26,999 for a brand new non navi tl. not a demo but brand new 08
Hi acuramantl2. Acura did not make any changes to the incentives that it is providing on the 2008 TL in December. It still has 0.9% to 2.9% special financing and $3,500 dealer cash available on it.

I can get 2 child seats in the back, but it's difficult because the latches are recessed pretty far. There's also not a whole lot of space. I'm about 6'2" and my 18 month old can push her legs into my seat. My older one is o.k., but the passenger seat is pretty far forward (seat back is aligned with the B-pillar). Thinking about selling my 08 Type-S and getting a used Infiniti M, although I love the car and it will probably be less of an issue once both kids are in boosters.
Let me get this straight. The current incentives allow the dealer to offer both the special financing and the dealer cash if they choose? I am in the market to purchase a 2008 TL and want to understand how the current incentives work. On the Edmunds website it lists two $3,500 dealer cash incentives. Am I correct to assume they work independently, not together. In other words it is $3,500 per transaction, not $3,500 + $3,500?
I got a fantastic price on a new '08 TL Type-S automatic in Massachusetts. Unfortunately the dealers were out of standards.
The sticker was $39,600. I traded in a '03 RSX Type-S with 144,000+ miles. My final price was $26,000. The $13,600 off the full sticker was a combination of trade & discount. Most dealers valued my trade-in somewhere between $4K - $6K. I also got the 2.9% financing. My high interest savings account pays more than 3% so my money is still making money while it sits in my account before going towards the loan.
I love the car. I miss having a standard but not having to shift in Boston area traffic makes it easier to cope without a stickshift.
I asked the question having seen an earlier poster talking about a price on a new 2008 TL at $26,999. That is over $1,000 below invoice ($31,767) minus the $3,500. I assume the dealer making that deal either was dipping into his holdback or was taking advantage of a regional incentive. I am heading to my local Acura dealer in the morning (Jay Wolf, KC,MO) to purchase a 2008 and wanted to have all my ducks in a row. My goal is to get as close to the invoice minus the $3,500 and finance using the low APR. I am pre-approved with Honda/Acura finance at the super preferred rate and Jay Wolf is sitting on 30 remaining 2008 TL's so I should be able to get close.
I bought my 08 TL with Nav back in mid-October at 30K plus TTL and able to take advantage of the low APR for financing. I've seen lower price in Southern California, $500-700 less. I'm in San Francisco area, btw. In short, the $3500 dealer incentive and the special financing rate are available to buyer since the end of September.
I got mine today at 29159 (include documentation fee and a 10 dollar charged by Honda Finance) + Tax & TTL. Financed all with 0 down payment and 0.9% APR for 3 years.
Silver color with Navigator.
Really simple and almost no negociation on the dealer site. All price negociations were completed by emails.
Hi whit5 Yours is the first post I have seen with the actual anmount of the dealer holdback: $642. How did you find that info? I had a lot of numbers researched, thanks to this website, like dealer invoice, $3500 incentive etc. If I knew they were still making $642, I might have negotiated a little harder. I bought my base 2008 TL for $28,430 including destination.
I have been shopping around Northern NJ to buy a new TL/Tech. I am happy with the price of the car - Negotiated to under 35,900 (Sticker 39,400) but I am unhappy with my trade-in amount. 2001 TL 3.2 w/ 98,000. I was offered under 6,000. Mind you I think these are good #'s. But given the economy and state of the car business, I was expecting more aggressive numbers. I am motivated to buy the car now and prefer not to wait until Jan or Feb to see if Acura offers a finance deal. Frustrating this is one of the few cars that does not have a deal currently. Does anyone disagree this is not a "good" deal @ 35,900/6K trade in?
$35,900 on a TL TECH is lowest that I have come across. My dealer called last week with a price of $36,500, which is what I offered him 2 months ago. I am holding off for another month or 2. Thinking Price and financing will be way down.
As far as the trade goes, may want to check the trade value on line somewhere. I always seem to sell my car to carmax.
The negotiated price for your new car should not obligate you to do your trade-in with your dealer. If you feel that you can get a better trade-in elsewhere or on your own, you should can certainly do so. It is simple enough to go to a CarMax and get an offer from them.
I picked up a Black/Ebony 08 TL w/o nav for ~$27,150.00 + TTL, on Monday. No haggling, it was the internet quoted price. Brand spanking new (35 miles) with everything in order. I was also able to take advantage of the 2.9% APR for 60 months. Good deal IMHO.
My only regret is not trying to get some goodies thrown in (all weather mats, in particular).
BTW, The quoted price w/ nav was ~$29,500.00
This was in northern Illinois, and the other dealers I contacted in the area were close to these prices.

Thanks.
