How have people found it best to try to get new tires? (on non-Nav). Straight trade for Michelins? Extra money? buy on your own (with some compensation) and have dealer mount and balance? or take care to tire shop and trade in with them? thanks.
I received a quote from a dealer and I told him I wanted mats, wheel locks & trunk tray. He replied with a quote including the protection package. Is this the locks, mats & tray?
I negotiated a rate of 4.49% for up to 60 months for 100% financing (including sales tax) and also including gap insurance from the dealer through AHFS. I told the dealer my bank will match this and he said he will shop for a lower rate. I do have a stellar credit rating. How low can they go?
I got that price from Spitzer Acura with the protection package (wheel locks, splash guards, and trunk tray). I got a price of $32K for Baierl with a wood shift knob, wheel locks, and body side molding.
I just responded to another post regarding this. I have never done this before, so...if I am repeating myself and taking up additional space, I apologize. In any case, I got a price from Spitzer of $31,500 with the protection package consisting of wheel locks, trunk tray, and splash guards. I also got a price for Baierl of $32,000 with a wood shift knob, body side molding and wheel locks. I am waiting for my current lease to expire prior to picking up the car late in April or early May.
Chris - THANK YOU for your posting. Based on it, I was able to get a good deal (much better than previously offered). I wasn't willing to budge on color combination and since what I wanted wasn't on the site (or any close states) paid a bit more - but very competitive all things considered. I made my purchase at Larchmont after negotiations with them and the NYC dealership. The NYC dealership wouldn't budge off $33,300 for the car...
is this correct,32750 and they had to find the car?? and this included navigation plus tax and title ?? you posted with tax & title, where does destination charge come in, whats the bottom line come to??
I am currently dealing with Mc Grath Highland Park, and looking for same model as yours. Your price is barely above the Edmunds invoice calculation of $30,734; I am not aware of hold-backs or dealer incentives , but there must be for your price. Do you know if that is the case? Does anyone out there?
2005 non-navi white/parchment protection package wood shift knob ($185 list!?) $30,900 plus $500 dealer fee & TTL Acura of Orange Park internet sales easiest car purchase I've made Other dealers in Orlando & south Florida told me to buy this car. They couldn't match the price. Orlando is a very non-competitive car market.
charliebear, I 'am in the market for a 2005 TL (black, auto & non-navi). Can you tell me what kind of TL you got from continental acura and what price did you pay. I would like to purchase my TL this weekend and I live in NW suburbs of chicago.
I got the 05 TL with Nav, paid a little less than 34,000 including transportation charge of $570 great people to work with, they are on 59 near fox valley mall. I know they have black on black TL with Nav in stock. (no black for me though, gets too dirty) lol
I live in Westchester and I'm looking to lease a TL from them. Was yours a lease or a buy? What were your monthly and out of pockets...I'd love to be armed and dangerous when negotiating my deal. how many months, etc... the more info the better. Thanks, and good luck with your TL -what a great car!
Yes, $31,995 included destination. However I never called them back because I already committed to the Bedford dealer when I got the call, so I can't tell you an out the door price. I'd imagine it would be around $34,500. Hope this helps. Chris
Nice job!! Glad I could help. The Larchmont dealer seems to be very aggressive in their pricing. After I committed to the Bedford dealer at $32,400, Larchmont called me a couple days later and offered $31,995. I didn't respond and 2 days later they left another message saying they'd do $31,900!! Since I liked the Bedford dealer better and I already committed I never called back but I hope someone else can use this info and get it at this price. You just need to have patience. Chris
Just beginning my journey towards the purchase of a 2005 TL. I Visited Curry Acura in Scarsdale but was not happy with the service. I talked more about the car than the salesman did! I have been told that the dealership in Bedford is a better experience. Based on what I have read on this message board, it seems like most would agree. The info you have supplied has been very encouraging; especially the prices. Any scoop on what tires to ask for on the car ??? Thanks
I have a quote form the Dallas area for invoice on a TL with navi. The price quoted is $32800. Does anybody know the actual invoice price? Edmunds had $32600 I believe.
I live in Pittsburgh and recently purchased a 2005 TL. I requested internet quotes from 8 different dealers. Three in Pgh, three in Clv. and Erie and Boardman. Got 6 responses. Three high and three low. All three low responses came from Cleveland. The three high were in Pgh. When I contacted the Pgh. dealerships and told them I already had three quotes for a 2005 w/nav. under 33.5 they all balked. If your willing to travel you will save hundreds. Pricing seems to be much more competitive in Clv. I bought at Park in Akron. Only 1 hour from Baierl. Very positive experience and good to deal with. Good Luck.
You may want to aks this question in the regular Acura discussion (Acura TL) where owners can answer, or in the Problems and Solutions forum (Acura TL Owners: Problems & Solutions).
O.K. I guess it would be better suited for that discussion group. Thanks. I do know that from reading many of the comments in that discussion group, you can become discouraged from purchasing a TL. I think I will stay on this side of the fence :-)
Just like to share with you guys the prices I got quoted over email from various dealers in the LA area:
Santa Monica Acura - $33,495 plus tax and registration fees.
Downey Acura - $33,695 include the $570.00 destination charge wheel locks, splash guards, &trunk tray.
Browning Cerritos Acura - $33,399 includes Destination, Mudguards, Trunk tray and Wheel locks.
Glendale Acura - $33,250 plus tax, lic., dmv and CA tire disposal fees. This price includes the destination fee. There are no additional fees or accessories not included in this price.
South Coast Acura - $32,750 plus fees ( I have no clue what FEES are not included )
Sierra Acura - $33,500.
What are the chances that I can get the car at INVOICE? I hope the heat has died down a bit and there are less demands for this car ;p
I drop by Sierra Acura in Alhambra this morning (3/30/05) to test drive. The salesman told me it's end of month and they're willing to negotiate a low price. He gave me $32,750 for Black/Black TL 5AT w/ Navi included is dest. charge, trunk tray, wheel locks, splash guards.
Browning Cerritos wouldn't match the price and Keyes said didn't want to get into a price war. So I think this a pretty good deal for those in the LA area.
Could use some comparative info on leasing a new 2005 TL having navigation, mats, wood shift knob, roof visor and body molding. Also, any negatives on this auto (if there are any). Thx to all who reply.
I am picking up a 2005 TL Anthracite, Ebony with Navigation at Keyes Acura in Van Nuys tomorrow morning and will pay $34,000 with front, rear and side spoilers (no rear wing, too much bling - Hey! That rhymes!). The final price was a lump-sum, but before the sales manager took off the last $150 the price was $33,055 (plus TTL etc.) Under Spoiler Package (no deck lid or wing): $1095 installed
To get the $34K price I had to pound on them very hard. I negotiated via email, a great experience. Much easier than in person; no shmooze, just hard numbers.
The second lowest price that I got was from Glendale Acura which met the $33,055 and $1095 numbers quoted above.
I purchased a 2005 TL (5 speed auto, no navi, Anthracite exterior, Ebony interior) from Acura of Cleveland (Ohio) in late March, 2005. I was quoted $31,200 by their Internet Sales Manager by submitting an RFQ through the dealer website. When I visited the dealer, they stuck with this price, so overall I think I did okay as far as not being too far over manufacturer's invoice.
Two small issues that have arisen so far that I'd like to see if anyone else has had: a) Brake pedal making a "clicking" sound (like two coins hitting each other) each time it is pressed b) Very small (maybe 2 - 3 pin head size) chip in paint on hood near windshield (I don't recall any rocks or other debris hitting the car while driving it).
The dealer gave us some touch-up paint for the chip and said the metal was not exposed so it "should be fine". For the brake pedal, they said it was seated too high and they made a slight adjustment to it so the noise has disappeared.
I got the 05 TL with Nav, paid a little less than 34,000 including transportation charge of $570. This didn't include Tax - which in DuPage county is 6.75% - or about two grand and change. Or title/license which was I think about $140.
Just wanted to shout out a big "thanks" to everyone who participated in this discussion. Really helped me with my research. After much research in the Boston area (incl NH)I wound up at Acura of Boston to complete the deal - as several of you have confirmed on this board. They drove a hard negotiation, but were much more professional about it, and I didn't feel like I needed to take a shower afterward.
At the Peabody location, they finally got to the point where they brought the sales manager out to tell me no way were they going to be able to go lower than $32,500 on a non-navi TL 2005 - and kept waving his calculator in front of me to show his lowest possible price. Too bad he didn't know that the calculator screen had timed out and was showing me nothing! He said he'd be a fool to let me out of the showroom if he could or some other dealer could go lower. To him I say, if the dress fits, wear it. Check out A of B.
The new 2006 BMW 330 is due out in May this year. What impact, if any, do you believe that will have on sales volume and more importantly prices of the TL in late spring and throughout the summer? (The 2006 TL is due out in September)
Sounds high to me. You could have gotten the same car new for only about $3K more and it would be worth more for longer. None the less, it's not that much higher a price than I would pay for a pretty darn good car. Enjoy!
Tires....... I've had problems with Bridgestone and Yokohama before so I switched out on the TL tires. I don't have the NAV - The Nav comes with the Michilins!
I personally know 3, now 4 [me] happy owners
Thanks to all for your input.
I picked up a silver and ebony TL day before yesterday at Acura of Westchester in Larchmont NY. What a great car and I did a "Smart Buy" [from Chase - a bank that the dealer uses...4 point something about a point under prime - for 41 months. NO deposit NO Bank fees 15 k miles per year. 52,500 miles for my 41 months. I put 3 to 4 grand down including my taxes [money that would have gone to first month, deposit and bank fees and disposition]. After my 41 months I can buy the car without paying taxes. My payment is close to $400! My buyout is $17.5 I added all weather mats and a trunk liner.
Originally I thought I would lease it...but the monthly $ was higher.
I was offered $31,700 somewhere else in Westchester and these guys beat it!
I opted out of the Nav. But - I swapped out the Bridgestones for Michilins and pd about $250 to do so... I guess all the tire talk got to me...better safe than sorry.
I hope this helps some people find the deal they would like. Larchmont was a great place! And I'm sure they will do some great deals!
It sure looks good in the driveway, it rides better than my old BMW 5 series.
I'm in the process of negotiating a 2005 TL AUTO w/NAV front, side, rear body and wing spoiler, 18" high performance chrome wheels and body side molding. The MSRP w/out these options on the website as of 1 Apr 05 is $35,100. Edmunds.com prices the invoice w/out these options @ $30,164. What can I expect to pay with these options? I am a first time new car buyer and potential Acura owner. What should I expect to pay and is there anything I should look out for? What approach should I take to negotiate the price down? Help for this first time hesitant buyer is appreciated...
A 2005 TL auto w/ Nav invoices at aprox 32,200 plus 500 for delivery [not negotiable] so you are looking at $32,700. Adding those options you desire adds up fast. I'm guessing about 3 or 4 grand for the bling stuff. Dealers don't generally mark down these items because they are a great source of dealership revenue as opposed to manufacture's revenue. And the dealer knows once you want those things that you really have locked into that model and are willing to pay.
Negotiate the car without the options to invoice or close [maybe $33,000]. Once that is settled start with negotiating the options. There is room in there for them to knock a litttle off the rims and tires, maybe 10 to 15 percent. Good luck, let us all know how you do. Thats what the site is for...learning for all.
Just an FYI - Acura of Libertyville - 2005 TL with Navigation - including all season mats, trunk tray, wheel locks, splash guards - $32,700 plus TT&L. All done through the internet. Excelent experience and quality dealer. Bought my 2002 3.2TL the same way through them 4 years ago.
Maryland dealer offered me TL (without Navi), including wheel locks, splash guards, all-season mats, freight and $100 dealer processing fee for $31,248 plus tax, title and tags. Is this a good deal?
I got the following quote from a dealer near San Francisco. 05 TL with side moldings, deck lid spoiler, wheel locks, mud guards, trunk tray, door and fender edge guards all ready installed. MSRP is $35,509 and your price would be $33,163 plus fees. Without the extras $31,800.

Chris
anyone have any lease experiences?
I'd take it, assuming it includes all fees except TT&L...
THey claim the lease rate for non-navi TL is $369 per month, which is extremely low. Anybody know if this is true or some scam inside?
