With a credit score of 582 I think your interest rate would be pretty high, which would therefore creep up your payments:
Here's a simple calculation:
Assuming a price of $33000 at 5% for 60 months (5 yrs), your monthly payment would be around $622.75/mth.
Not sure if 5% would be a rate that would go according to your credit score, but then the higher your rate, the higher the payment you'll make. If you have credit issues, then save yourself some trouble and don't get into more debt.
I purchased my new 2005 TL (Redondo Red/Parchment) with navigation, and automatic last night at Pohanka Acura in NOVA. Excellent buying experience and the internet sales manager was great. After lurking on this board for some time now, I followed the typically practice of many of the buyers. I emailed a number of dealers both locally and within the region, received about 5 quotes within an hour. I went back and forth a couple of times but managed to get the car at invoice, $32,555 with mats, splash guards, and wheel locks for free and I added the trunk tray for $99. When all was said and done, I was OTD for $33,862. I figure not too bad for under 2 hours of work. I might have saved a couple more dollars if I continued to push all the dealers but Pohanka is within 5 minutes of my house so I pulled the trigger. I think my color combination helped as well. A couple dealers said the price would be different if I were looking for silver, black or anthracite. Oh well, I'm happy and I should be busy for a while figuring out all the toys on this baby. Thanks to everyone who posted their buying experiences, they were very valuable.
I had TL car price settled with the car salesperson. I then went to the finance person (another sales person) to finish the paper work. There are 3 add-ons: paint protection, lojack, and extend warranty. I didn’t want all of them at first, but he said he gave me discount, and I got them all. I know many of you on this board had said that those add-ons are big profits for the deals. I realized that, just didn’t know how much profit they would get.
Any way, this is what I paid. Paint protection: $425 lojack: $970 -- He quoted me $1300 first and I said NO. He then gave me $970 and saying he now only got 10% profit; 5year/100,000 no deduction, warranty $1331 – He quoted me $1700 first and I said NO. I had asked for Rate table and the different prices when deductions are different (0 vs. $50). He only gave me the quote for 5year/100,00 based on my previous driving habit (140,000 miles over 6 years).
I had researched TL buying pricing and experience on this board recently and I know about the TL car pricing. However, I didn’t spend much time to do my research on the add-ons. Any way, I came back, and checked more information on this board and realized that I was duped. I found some price information for those add-ons I purchased.
The prices I found on this board and on acuracare site:
Paint protection: $225 lojack: $600 and $595 Warranty: accuracare sells extended warranty for old cars. I used that as a bench mark (I put 5 miles for 2003, for example) and the price are definitely better than I got. It’s $1000+ for 5yr/100,000 and $1200+ for 7yr/100,000.
Any way, I know many of you would say “see, I told you..”. I hear you now I put my story up here so other people can learn from my mistake. More important, I need your advice on what I can do to get my money back. I have not get any of the services yet. I want to cancel all those service since they are so overpriced (not just 10-20% profit), but I know the sales person won’t care since I have paid. I will take those add-ons if they are reasonable priced ($250+/- for paint protection, $600 for lojack, etc.) But it will be a big dent on my excitement on getting this dream car. I appreciate any and all advice on what I should do now.
Sorry, I missed the title, and I'm posting it again.

mink760: Do you know which dealerships are offering this? I've been told 5.99% is as low as they can go, and that is with good credit! Thanks.
jbdriver: Who did you deal with at Keyes? They have offered to beat my best quote, but like you, I have not gotten an official answer. They have the exact car I want, but am hesitant to go in without a firm quote. Did you have to show them a bid in order for them to match it?
To all: has anyone here financed through Costco auto services? They seem to have the best rates and I would be interested in hearing about peoples experiences.
Also, a note of caution: While I am still receiving bids, I have to mention one dealership that flat out lied to me: Downey Acura. I asked for a price, and gave my lowest bid (without naming which dealership it came from) and was told by that dealership that the dealership I received a bid from was lying and they had checked the stock there and they didn't have the car in stock!!! How, I wonder did they check the stock at a dealership when they don't even know which it is!? On top of that, they are the highest bid to come back. I would just give a small caution to those who are also looking in the SoCal area.
Thanks, kyfdx. I finally called LOJACK (www.jojack.com) and found out that there are at least 2 packages. One is the Lojack itself which costs $695 if you buy from Lojack; the other is Lojack with early warning system which costs $995. I actually bought the lojack with early warning system. The sales person never mentioned the 2 packages, but tried hard to sell the higher end one. I don't have problem paying the market price, so I'm good. Thank you!
David32...I was surprised to find that even the price on the LoJack was negotiable...I had the same experience...995 was the original quote, then I said something about having paid a lot less a couple of years back for LoJack on my wife's car...and then the guy said "oh, yeah, that's for the early warning system"...then he quoted the 695...and my wife actually got him to drop the price down to $550...where I am sure he still made a good bit of money on the deal. With cars, everything is negotiable...except for the taxes
Just a general FYI - I was looking to buy a g35 recently, and the dealer was desparate for a sale... The car had Lojack pre-installed, and I didn't care for it, so the dealer quoted me $300 for it as his 'no-profit' price. I didn't ask about any of the details, but anyway, 'regular' prices for Lojack build in a huge profit margin. Not worth it (unless you get it for $300).
I wouldn't buy any extended warranty, especially on a Honda product. If you want to self-warranty, take the money you would have paid for the extended warranty and invest it in a conservative instrument for the duration of the factory warranty (or longer, based on liquidity). If, after the factory warranty expires, you have a major repair, you've saved YOUR money plus interest to cover it. If ( more likely than not) you never need a major repair, guess what? You still have YOUR money plus interest to do as you please!
OTOH, if you'll constantly lose sleep over not having the extended, then buy it.
And do not buy paint protection or rust proofing...

Nightcrawler, You need to be careful on what you say as this is a public posting. I sold cars for Honda in the early 90’s. I have seen these guys work 12 hours a day 6 days a week to get a minimum wage check to take home to their families. This DOES happen!! A lot of them are married and have children that they never see because they spend all their time at work dealing with people like you who think they are the scum of the earth. Pay a little respect to those who deserve it. You will find crap in whatever business you do. Also, these pricing pages are designed to help you get a good deal, not to categorize and insult. The salespeople have to make a living just like all of us. How would you like it if your company shopped your paycheck around town like we do here! Just my thoughts .Get a good deal and enjoy your new car!! :shades:
I consider buying a 05 TL w/o Navi in Houston at the end of August or September 05. Should I buy it at the end of this month or wait till the end of next month to get a better price? what has been the best price quote for this car? Please help, thanks a million.
Usually the end of any month is when the best deals are found....it doesn't matter what month. The 2005 TL supply will/is beginning to dwindle, and although you can still get a good deal you might have a hard time with color selections. If you are ready to buy then get a good deal and buy. It seems that most people on this board get the good deals, but too many let pennies get in the way of dollars.
Find you a good deal and buy the car. 2006 models will not be discounted like 05's are for a while.
Hello, I've been reading the posts here for a few weeks and gleaned tons of useful tips and info. I'm in SF and bought my anthracite / ebony TL (auto + Navi) today. Thought I'd share some info as "repayment".
Getting quotes from Internet Sales Departments saved *tons* of time. I found dealers very responsive to meet or beat other dealers' quotes.
Here are quotes I received from area dealers, many expiring end August. I hope this helps folks gauge the general range for '05s. Again, these are for auto with Navi, regular tires.
Acura of Stockton $35,250 out-the-door, but limited selection (and too far for me) Acura of Sunnyvale $32,225 (offered as a counter to Serramonte) Acura of Serramonte $32,250 ($35,322 out-the-door) Mike Harvey Acura $32,555 plus free first oil change and free parking for SFO Stevens Creek Acura $32,455 Los Gatos Acura $32,250 (offered to match Serramonte) Elk Grove Acura $33,250
All dealers were very courteous (as you'd expect from a premium brand). I pressed Serramonte one last time to see if they could do $35,000 out-the-door, but no dice. Still, I think I got a great, great deal. A friend had looked at '04s when they first launched and found no dealers would go below MSRP (due to lower production volumes back then). Clearly a very different situation for '05s rigth now. Plus, I was very pleased with the overall experience with the staff at Serramonte. I would recommend them, even though I did not interact with staff from the other dealers besides exchanging e-mails.

buying a 05 TL w/o Navi in Houston at the end of August or September 05.
Just as an FYI, I have been told that there are no more '05s shipping. I came pretty close to picking up a black/camel Navi this weekend, but it was sold out from under me. There were only 4 left on the lot and I didn't want red or white. The dealer said they can't get the '06 if they have ANY '05 left.
If you are willing to take a red one, you may get a VERY good deal.
Just as an fyi, I have been back and forth negotiating on a '05 Navi and have got them down to 42 month lease 2K down and $411 per month + tax (total payment $440). That is just about the best I think I can do. So far, I have had trouble getting another dealer to match it, unless I want to fly from Atlanta to NJ to pick one up. The Atlanta dealers don't seem to want to let it go for that price. One salesperson basically said that with the limited numbers, he didn't expect to have to deal that low to get rid of them.
I may end up waiting for the '06. My '99 Honda EXV6 only has 57K.
I live less than 200 miles from that area of Virginia. What dealer did you work with? I rec'd a non-negotiated price of $35.5 (navi)from a North Carolina dealer, but know I can do better.
The price is good...but could be about $300-500 high when considering the car plus accessories.
The 'accessories' indicated is the so called 'protection package' and if you get quotes from other dealers...many times it is already included in their pricing. So verify your other quotes. No matter...it is a decent price you have...fair. Just make sure to cross compare to other competing Acura dealers.
I indicated the accessories when I sent for a quote request. Should I leave the accessories out, and just mention the "protection package"? Or just leave it out entirely, and don't mention the accessories?
Will the dealers mention the "protection package"?
Basically, how should I approach/ask the dealers and make it so that they will include the accessories when they reply with a quote?
I am currently negotiating in the SoCal market and am fairly certain you can do better at either the Santa Monica dealership and Van Nuys (Keyes) dealership. Rates there with mud guards and tire locks w/ navigation are about $31,500 (including destination minus TTL). You may want to email their "internet sales reps." Only thing I'm not too sure about is the financing I'm afraid.
Many thanks to Delmar1, jbdriver, and other socal'ers in this forum. I'm close to closing my deal and will provide details once its done -- don't want to jinx anything.
I received an email from Gillman Acura this morning offering in-stock TL's without Nav for $31,3000 +TTL (with NAV $33,000 +TTL). The offer will expire after tomorrow.
They also said if I got a better offer from another Houston area dealer to let them know.
This quote for a TL without Nav was $100 less then I got from them a few days ago, and they said they were ofiering that price because I have bought 4 vehicles from Gillman dealerships over the past 19 years.
Should I leave the accessories out, and just mention the "protection package"? Or just leave it out entirely, and don't mention the accessories?
'graffixx'...my suggestion when requesting a quote....to indicate specifically what car, what tranny, colors, nav or non-nav. Let them quote you then at that point inquire if the protection package is included and what it contains. By not mentioning the protection package in your request, you are getting the true bare bones quote from the dealer.
Then after getting that...then start talking about the protection package [btw...the protection package is great. Wheel locks are good as you never want to lose a rim and tire even if parked in a 'good area'. Splash guards are great to keep the car cleaner and avoid rock throws. Trunk tray is a great contraption that I will need in future cars]. If it turns out that the price of the package is too extreme (you really should be considering the package value to be about $225-300)...then go ahead and buy it after-market from the dealer or from that website that advertises here and installing the parts yourself).
Just to point this out... Purchasing Acuras are much easier than other makers since pretty much everything is included. If you buy other makers...you have to deal with all these weird packages and start to buy things you don't need or want. I hope everyone agrees with that.
'utc2'... Appears you are in San Diego. Glad you are considering buying from the L.A. market as the San Diego dealers are over $1,000 higher. Hopefully our revolt here will improve the San Diego market pricing in the future.
However for Graffixx...I suggest not only expanding your search to Santa Monica and Keyes...but to others. As mentioned in the past...not everyone will get the same deal from the same dealer. So it sure doesn't hurt to check around.
A note to all buyers in the So Cal (specifically Anaheim area). Weir Canyon will will weasel out of their price guarantee. DO NOT BUY YOUR TL (or any other Acura for that matter) FROM WEIR CANYON! :lemon: When I sent out my request for quote, they said that they would meet or beat the price on the car I wanted or give me $500. Well, they didn't have the car I wanted, but I told their internet guy that I would wait for one to come in if he could meet or beat the price since they were closer to where I live. He said he couldn't beat the offer I was getting for Keyes and said that there was no way Keyes could sell it to me at that price because they would be losing money, and that he as an honest salesman would sell it to me over invoice and make sure that I was well taken care of. What a bunch of crap. Unfortunately, most of the conversations that prove that I said that I would wait and that they could not meet the price I got from Keyes, happened over the phone, so I do not have any more e-mail proof. But, 2 weeks later and this is the reply that I get about their price guarantee: Since you were unwilling to wait for one to come in--and you did not put a deposit down on one--that voided our price guarantee. Our guarantee was on units we had in stock and we have only had a few TL's with Navi over the last few months. Regardless of whether or not I said I would wait for one to come in, their orginal e-mail about their price guarantee says nothing about the unit having to be in stock..and that I can prove.
Whoever it was who was complaining about car salesman being called unethical should take a look at a prime example of why people think this sort of thing. I realize that you are not all this way (since I actually had a good experince at Keyes, where I got my TL) so I will not generalize, but you have to at least realize why people think this.
delmar1, you are correct. I am your neighbor to the south I think. Anyways, I agree that graffixx should price around the entire area. For whatever reason (?large volumes) it seems like the Santa Monica dealership and the Van Nuys dealerships are offerring >$1000 off invoice with mud guards and tire locks but excluding trunk liner I think. SD market is horrible! Cheapest quoted rates were actually >$2000 over the LA market. I'll give a list of all my quotes (about 10 dealreships) if and when I can close my deal. I was fortunate to stumble across this forum and in doing so probably saved myself over $1000. Thanks all.
San Diego market is horrible alright. Three primary locations with really only two owners. Cush Acura San Diego and Escondido are sham artists that will try to lure you to walk into the dealership and not deal through the internet or calls (the internet manager that will phone you is the receptionist)...therefore no price improvements. Hoehn Carlsbad are snobs and don't work with buyers. The outsider is Ball Acura National City which are really really sleazy that will switch and bait.
Remember folks...you can buy your cars from a distance and have your cars serviced at any Acura dealership. They will gladly accept your business...and I find that they are especially nice to retain your business from the place of purchase.
I figured you were in San Diego with the signon of 'UTC'. Yes... I'm in Del Mar Calif.
As for JBDriver's experience with the price guarantee with Weir Canyon. When I was working on my deal in June...I didn't feel comfortable with the working relationship I had with Wier and discontinued discussions. They didn't seem forthcoming and unworthy of consideration.
????Question for you all. Today is Aug 30th. Is it still considered 'last week' of the month (when typcially better deals occur) or did it end this past weekend...or this coming weekend? Does anybody know what is considered the commission cutoffs?
utc2: I just finished wrapping up my purchase, and the best deal that I recieved was at Keyes (where I eventually bought my car). Since everyone here has been such a big help to me, I thought I'd also post the bids I recieved at various SoCal dealerships. Please keep in mind I was looking for the manual tranny but also asking for quotes on the auto. Mosts didn't have the manual, so only some places replied for that.
South Coast Acura: $32,895 Glendale Acura: $32,355 but would match lowest price Weir Canyon: $32,830 (said he would also match lowest price) Sierra Acua in Alhambra: $32,555 Downey: $33,955 (see warning a few days ago about Downey) Norm Reeves: $33,200 Acura 101: $31,900 Santa Monica: $31,599 Keyes: Never gave a price, but said they would meet my lowest, and did, which was $31,599 including the pro. package. They also threw in the 100,000 mile warranty at almost no cost to me.
All in all, I was satisfied with Keyes. They were really the only ones with the car I wanted (manual trans with nav in Anthracite and hi performance tires), and gave it me at the best price, no questions asked. I have to go back because there was a part that needed to be fixed, and they will give me a rental for three days, no problems.
If anyone is looking, I would recommend Keyes. Not only is it the end of the model year, they are moving across the street and need to sell their cars, and are more than willing to match prices with extras.
Thanks again to everyone on this board for all of their tremendous help....now if I could only find someone to help me with me newly acquired lead foot... :-)
????Question for you all. Today is Aug 30th. Is it still considered 'last week' of the month (when typcially better deals occur) or did it end this past weekend...or this coming weekend? Does anybody know what is considered the commission cutoffs?
hi, just wanted to know the TL that you bought in Keyes was it with navi or with out and is it auto or manual? Who was your dealer named? What was the interest rate that you got?
Thank you to everyone here for your help. I've been mostly just lurking here for a month or two. I am picking up my new auto TL w/nav tomorrow and I just wanted to make sure everyone knew Acura has 2.9 for 24-36mths, 3.9 for 37-48mths and 4.9 for 49-60mths, starting tomorrow through 9/6.
I'm paying $32,995 in upstate NY. I'll post more details and other quotes I got tomorrow after I get the car.
graffixx: The ones that had the manual tranny were Santa Monica, Cerritos, and Keyes-the rest of the dealerships seemed to not have any more in the color (Anthracite) that I was looking for, so I didnt' get a quote on the manual from them. The rest of the quotes came back for the auto trans.
ndnoq112: The TL I got was a manual (and is it ever a beauty!!) with navi-I also got the high performance tires thrown in :-). I don't know if I should name names, but I'll post the that I delt with the internet sales manager from the start. There was no price issue, he said they would match my best price and did without any haggling what so ever. As far as interest rates go, I got a better deal than most becuase I came in with a loan check already for 5.14% for 72 months. However, that check was for capital one, and Keyes doesn't honor Capital One as their checks apparently take too long to cash. So I got 5.34% for 66 months, which is going to be about $300 less in the long run, but a little more each month. I was told most people would get about 6% on their loans, if that helps at all.
Like many of you, I used this forum to help me with my recent TL purchase. In appreciation for the info I used, I wanted to share with you about our experience. We live in a remote part of CA, nearest Acura dealers are minimum 2 hour drive. We had test driven one back in spring, and had decided we wanted a Black/black w/o navigation. After seeing on the board last week that the 06's were coming in within a couple of months, on Friday evening I sent quote requests to Stevens Creek, Seaside, Fresno, Bakersfield, Ventura, Calabasas, and Santa Monica. I never heard from Fresno, Bakersfield, or Stevens Creek. From the board I gleaned that the Bay Area was quite a bit higher than LA, so didn't expect to go there. Instead of a quote, I received an invite from Seaside to come up and test drive the car. Sounded pretty sleazy, I just replied that we weren't going anywhere until we had a firm deal. Never heard back. Basically same response from Ventura. Nothing much happened on Saturday. Sunday morning as I prepared to mow the lawn the wife yelled out the door "hey looks like we're going to LA today". We had received a quote from Santa Monica for $29,999, including destination which was about $1250 less than what I was hoping to pay. Also rec'd a quote from Calabasas about $1500 higher, when I called him and told him the Santa Monica quote he told me he couldn't match. I called Keyes and they offered to beat the price from Santa Monica, which had went down to $29760. The manager from Keyes confirmed they would beat the $29760. For us, Keyes would save about 1.5 hours in the car roundtrip vs. Santa Monica, so I was not going to quibble too much if they only beat by $1. We got there after a horrible traffic-filled ordeal and the car had wheel locks and splash guards, which they didn't tell us and then they raised their quote by ~$300 to cover those additions. My wife flipped out. The problem was that it was later than we had wanted and we were going to have problems getting over to Santa Monica to close a deal with hungry kids, etc etc. I also did want the tire locks (mud guards neutral), so we finally got them to agree to $32400 out the door (our sales tax rate is 7.25%). The manager comes back and says they need to make it $32459. I couldn't believe they were quibbling over $60. However, we had no leverage at that point and we were getting a price below what we had imagined, so I said ok. They offered some sales BS about how they were losing money, etc. and I was thinking "how can you lose money and be building this huge brand new facility across the street" but I didn't say anything. The only thing I can think of is we weren't financing with them, and we used a credit card for part of the down payment, and I think they knew we weren't going for an extended warranty, paint protection, etc. so they had no way of making more money from us.
So in conclusion, we got a better price than we intially expected once we decided to buy the TL. I didn't think that Keyes was as up front as I would have liked. Just from correspondence and phone conversations I think Santa Monica would have been more straight up (?), but we couldn't justify the extra driving time to give them our business.
I have been back and forth negotiating on a '05 Navi and have got them down to 42 month lease 2K down and $411 per month + tax (total payment $440).
I ended up pulling the trigger. $411 per month (plus tax) for 42 months with $1560 down (plus first payment). I was OTD for 2K and my payment is $440 (with tax). It was through Honda of America 12K miles per year and no fee at return of lease. It was Black w/ Camel, Auto, Navi. I am pretty sure I got them to actually go below the invoice. I know finance managers are usually not looking out for the "buyer's" best interest, but even he couldn't beleive the dealership did the deal. It was Baranco in South Atlanta.
Does anyone know how much they normally charge for the 'paint polish'? I want to get a rough estimate. Thanks.
You do realize that it is nothing more than wax right? That will be a $500 wax job. Take it to an auto detailer and get it done for $75. There is a great guy that comes to my office and does it in the parking lot. The guy is an artist....
The "paint polish" package is probably NOT at no additonal cost, it's part of the quote. And probably grossly marked up...
If you're happy with the quote, though, it doesn't matter.

Any way, this is what I paid.
Paint protection: $425
lojack: $970 -- He quoted me $1300 first and I said NO. He then gave me $970 and saying he now only got 10% profit;
5year/100,000 no deduction, warranty $1331 – He quoted me $1700 first and I said NO.
Paint protection: $225
lojack: $600 and $595
Warranty: accuracare sells extended warranty for old cars.
Paint protection: $425
lojack: $970 -- He quoted me $1300 first and I said NO. He then gave me $970 and saying he now only got 10% profit;
5year/100,000 no deduction, warranty $1331 – He quoted me $1700 first and I said NO. I had asked for Rate table and the different prices when deductions are different (0 vs. $50). He only gave me the quote for 5year/100,00 based on my previous driving habit (140,000 miles over 6 years).

My only concern now, is rather to add the wing spoiler and/or the moon roof deflector.
If you have taken delivery, you can still cancel the extended warranty... I think you might be stuck with the paint protection and Lojack..

jbdriver: Who did you deal with at Keyes?
With cars, everything is negotiable...except for the taxes
I was looking to buy a g35 recently, and the dealer was desparate for a sale...

You need to be careful on what you say as this is a public posting.
:shades:
Find you a good deal and buy the car. 2006 models will not be discounted like 05's are for a while.
Acura of Stockton $35,250 out-the-door, but limited selection (and too far for me)
Acura of Sunnyvale $32,225 (offered as a counter to Serramonte)
Acura of Serramonte $32,250 ($35,322 out-the-door)
Mike Harvey Acura $32,555 plus free first oil change and free parking for SFO
Stevens Creek Acura $32,455
Los Gatos Acura $32,250 (offered to match Serramonte)
Elk Grove Acura $33,250
All dealers were very courteous (as you'd expect from a premium brand).
I pressed Serramonte one last time to see if they could do $35,000 out-the-door, but no dice. Still, I think I got a great, great deal. A friend had looked at '04s when they first launched and found no dealers would go below MSRP (due to lower production volumes back then). Clearly a very different situation for '05s rigth now. Plus, I was very pleased with the overall experience with the staff at Serramonte. I would recommend them, even though I did not interact with staff from the other dealers besides exchanging e-mails.

Also, how was the selection?
'05 TL Auto w/ Nav
Satin Silver Metallic
Ebony Leather
Accessories: Wheel locks, trunk tray, and splash guards
First quote from Sierra Acura of Alhambra:
$32, 555 (incl. destination)
+ $300 (the 3 accessories w/ installations)
+ license fee
+ docs fee
+ tires fee
+ 8.25% tax
------------------
$35, 228 OTD
This will be on a 60 months finance at 4.9% interest rate. I have not replied with a response yet.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks again.
Hope that helps....
I've already sent a few requests for quotes to a few other dealers around the LA area so I will see what numbers they come back with.
There have been a couple of posts from other so cal'ers who have gotten their cars at around the price you've indicated.
Good luck on closing your deal. I look forward in seeing the details. Thanks.
They also said if I got a better offer from another Houston area dealer to let them know.
This quote for a TL without Nav was $100 less then I got from them a few days ago, and they said they were ofiering that price because I have bought 4 vehicles from Gillman dealerships over the past 19 years.
However for Graffixx...I suggest not only expanding your search to Santa Monica and Keyes...but to others. As mentioned in the past...not everyone will get the same deal from the same dealer. So it sure doesn't hurt to check around.
When I sent out my request for quote, they said that they would meet or beat the price on the car I wanted or give me $500. But, 2 weeks later and this is the reply that I get about their price guarantee:
Since you were unwilling to wait for one to come in--and you did not put a deposit down on one--that voided our price guarantee.
I realize that you are not all this way (since I actually had a good experince at Keyes, where I got my TL) so I will not generalize, but you have to at least realize why people think this.
you are correct. Thanks all.

South Coast Acura: $32,895
Glendale Acura: $32,355 but would match lowest price
Weir Canyon: $32,830 (said he would also match lowest price)
Sierra Acua in Alhambra: $32,555
Downey: $33,955 (see warning a few days ago about Downey)
Norm Reeves: $33,200
Acura 101: $31,900
Santa Monica: $31,599
Keyes: Never gave a price, but said they would meet my lowest, and did, which was $31,599 including the pro.
I would like to know this also.
Thanks!
I'm paying $32,995 in upstate NY. I'll post more details and other quotes I got tomorrow after I get the car.
Tim
I've also got confirmation from a SoCal dealer that the above is true.
This leads me to wonder if those SoCal dealers that have been closing deals that are $1000 - $1200 BELOW invoice will continue to offer them.
ndnoq112: The TL I got was a manual (and is it ever a beauty!!) with navi-I also got the high performance tires thrown in :-).
I was offered a quote from one of the SoCal dealers for a '05 TL Auto w/ Nav that includes the "paint polish" package at no additional cost.
The low interest rate offer is a sign that the 2006 TL will be available soon - maybe on 9/7.
You do realize that it is nothing more than wax right? That will be a $500 wax job. Take it to an auto detailer and get it done for $75. There is a great guy that comes to my office and does it in the parking lot. The guy is an artist....
If you're happy with the quote, though, it doesn't matter.
