Yes, that would be the new EP price when you factor in those two additional $1,750 incentives. There is also a $500 auto show discount available in some areas.
And remember, the Friends discount is available to anyone. They just have to obtain a number from a Chrysler employee.
Am I Chuck or Larry?
Thanks for your time in advance,
We(my family of 5) are purchasing/leasing a 2008 T&C or Grand Caravan. We currently own the 05 T&C Signature that we are turning in this Thursday.
I can assure you that the code will be used by Thursday Feb 28th the latest. Our 2005 is due back that day so a deal must be made.
Also,
What is the EP code..? That seems to be a much greater discount. Is that available..?
Thank You very much for any assistance you can provide, it is most greatly appreciated by my family.

EP = Employee Purchase
Who is eligible for the EP discount?
All Chrysler active full-time and part-time Employees/Retirees. Immediate family members including spouse, same-sex domestic partners,* parents, parents-in-law, stepparents, sons/daughters, sons/daughters-in-law, stepchildren, brothers/sisters, brothers/sisters-in-law, half brothers/sisters, grandchildren and grandparents.
Here is an example of a 2008 T&C Touring K package pricing with no additional options:
MSRP: $28,625
EP: $24,134
Friends: $24,558
Both the EP and Friends prices shown above include a current rebate of $1,500.
Maybe we can play Chuck and Larry....LOL
The $1500.00 is already applied.
So the $1000.00 lease loyalty and $750.00 Royalty mentioned in previous posts still get subtracted from that adjusted price to make it a new selling price of $22,384, correct..?
We would love the get the Touring with Signature series value package, but wihtout the EP discount, I just seem to get them to realistic price for that to happen.
Thanks for all the help
Get me an EP code and I'll let you choose....
Seriously though, I know you are all out, but do you have a connection to someone who may be able to hook me up..?
I need to make the deal by Thursday night.
I have a deal righ tnow on the table. 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, with 25L package leased out at $340.00 a month TAX IN.
I think that with the EP program and can get the 08 T&C Sig series at that rate.....What do you think..?
e-mail has been sent.
Let me just verify one thing also.
ALL REBATES that are in existence get applied AFTER this price correct?
Example:
Dealer Invoice is $28,000
Friends price is $27,720.00
$1,500.00 rebate
$1,000.00 lease loyalty
$750.00 Royalty Rebate
For a total sale price of $24,470.00
Is that correct..?
Thanks again for all your help.....This board is a HUGE help.
I really liked the Odesseys, but could not justify the price premium given that they seem to be having transmission problems on par with the Chrysler products. Between the Chrysler products, I was leaning towards the standard length van 'cause it's only 3 of us now plus the 2 dogs. But, there did not seem to be very many used DC's on the market with the trim level (SXT) and options we were looking for.
We went to a local dealer that had around a dozen used Dodge and Chrysler vans on his lot, and ended up buying a Grand DC SXT, with traction control for $15,299 (before taxes, titles, tags). The van was listed for $16,999, with an internet special price of $16,299. When the salesman asked us what it would take to get us to buy today, (I hate that!), we were non-committal, and just asked him how good a deal we could get. He went to his manager (I hate that ploy also) and came back with the $15,299 price, which was a little better than we were hoping for. So we bought it!
The van had been a rental and has 21,500 miles on it, and my wife really liked the pick up with the 3.8L V6. The Car Fax report was clean, and the dealer had just done all the routine maintenance items such as oil & filter, tire rotation, and wiper blade replacement. Plus, like I said, it had the traction control we wanted along with a Sirius satellite radio.
So, between the price and the mileage, I think we did pretty good. When we got into the sales manager's office to finalize the deal, he asked us about buying something like $4000 worth of add-ons, including:
1. Etching of VIN number on the glass - $400
2. LoJack system - $500
3. 3 year "ding" removal - $500
4. 3 year service package (oil, change, tire rotation, etc) - $300
5. Various flavors of extended warranties, from $900 to upwards of $2400.
We turned them all down, but I'm wondering if I should go with the Chrysler provided extended power train warranty for (I think it was) $900. This would extend the power train coverage from 3yr/36,000 mi to 5yr/100,000 miles (which is the best match to our driving habits). I'm not a fan of extended warranties, feeling that in most cases, since they're a big money maker for the car company, they must not be good deal for the consumer. But, given the possibility of a $4,000 tranny repair in the future, I was thinking about buying for this vehicle.
Any thoughts???
i'm in a giving mood today. you won't be able to get EP, since that is only reserved for immediate family members, but i can get you a friends discount which is 1% below invoice...email me at rmbalisa@carspace.com with the following info...

I sent you a "friends request" within carspace with all the information you need.
Would love to close a deal on Tuesday Feb 26th if possible....
We have a trip to Tampa for a competition planned for Friday so I need a few days to get used to the goodies with the MyGIG..... :surprise:
Thanks again so much

Your carspace e-mail is full......
Here is the message I received back from sending.
Can not deliver the message you sent. Will not retry.
Recipient:: rmbalisa@carspace.com Failure Reason: 550 Mailbox is full
Personally, I never would buy one after watching the experiences of family members who thought buying formal rentals was a good way to save money. Unfortunately common problems with brakes and suspension aren't covered by powertrain warranties, but at least the engine and tranny would be.
I sent an email but it bounced back due to carspace email box being full. Please give an alternate email address and I would reply immediately. Thanks,
MeghaP
As a alternate I also sent you requested information using friend's message. Looking forward to hear from you....

I received a Friends code from another board member.
Thanks for all your help.
I will post up my deal, and vehiclel ater this evening or tomorrow.
Thans again guys......HAPPY NEW CAR TUESDAY.... :shades:
By using a credit card I can always have the charged reversed if the warranty turns out to be anything less than they promised. Plus I'm allowed to change my mind and get 100% of my money back within 60 days. I figure if I don't get the promised paperwork from Chrysler by the time the 60 period starts to close in I'll just cancel it.
I thought it was a very important thing to have on the '08 because of all the electronics that are packed into the vehicle.
Yes, I did turn down all the extended warranty offers from the dealer. It was just too much to sort through when we were closing the deal. I'm only looking at an extended warranty for the power train, not bumper-to-bumper. I would not even do that if the van had the same 7 year/70,000 mile power train warranty as my '05 Dakota truck has. Transmission work is one thing I cannot do myself (outside of changing the fluid).
Yes, if I do get one, it would be through Chrysler (www.chryslerwarrantys.com).
I'm not sure how I feel about a third party extended warranty. AAA offers them as does my insurance company, GEICO. Consumer's Union had a report of them not too long ago (in the last year?) and (if I remember right) did not have much positive to say about the third part issued warranties.
Let us know what you think when you get your paper work.
Thanks.
I placed a order for one on 01-02-2008. It has been eight weeks and the order is still in D status.
I do have a VIN for it.Chrysler told me it might be 3 or 4 days or 3 or 4 weeks before it could be built.
I also know after it has been built and it leaves Canada, it goes to Jefferson North and sits for a week or so before it ships 30 miles to the dealer.
Just curious if other people are waiting this long.
I ordered it on the last day that you could use the EC numbers.Maybe that has something to do with it if they received alot of orders that day.

OK, this is what I am trying to figure out .... Nowhere in the upper right of my screen do I have a "Mailbox" feature ... please help anyone!!
Wife & I have twins on the way (in addition to our 3-yr old) so we need to bite the bullet and get a minivan. Thinking of getting a Caravan or a T&C (aren't they the exact same vehicle?), or maybe even a Jeep Cherokee (I think the back seat has enough room for 3 car seats). I now see that the EC program ended in 2008. Money is real tight, so if anyone has a Friends code for 2008, then I would reeeeeealy appreciate it. .... I'll even put you on my Christmas card list!!
I would stay away from the jeep, IMO, unless you live in the boonies with lots of snow and really, REALLY need the full time 4WD. Costs too much to keep running, and uses more gas than the minivan.
Dodge (at least up through 2007) made a standard length van and the Grand. The Grand is about a foot longer overall and with a slightly longer wheelbase. The T&C is essentially the same as the GC, only better appointed. But, you pay for those bells and whistles. Mechanically, they are the same.
For whatever reason they removed that Mailbox link that used to be in the upper right. You can get to your mailbox options by clicking on My Carspace near the upper left of the screen.
Any moderators know why the Mailbox link was removed?
When I typed that message, we had a slightly different format.. Your directions are correct.. Click on My CarSpace, then look for the mailbox options on the upper right of that page..
Do I know why?
Nope... I was the only Host that noticed it, though...

I drove 3 hours from Boca Raton to Orlando to pick up our 2008 Town & Country Touring Signature Series in Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl.
We got the 25L package with Infotainment system with Dual DVD's and Navigation.
We utilized the Friends and Family code that we got from a GREAT member here and then applied the $3250.00 in rebates, eliminated the $730.00 Dealer Fee and walked out of the dealership grinning from ear to ear. I will post the price break down tomorrow as my wife has the van(or I should say, ENTERTAINMENT CENTER on wheels) at work with all the paperwork inside. MSRP was $34,970
I picked it up Thursday night in Orlando, then drove back to Boca Raton, Then at 9:30am we drove to St. Petersburgh for a competition, then over the Cape Haze to visit with the inlaws, then back home today. My Kids do not want to GET OUT of the van, they absolutely LOVE IT and were telling all their friends about how they have the most incredibly van in the world.
My wife and I were prepard to go bare bone on a vehicle since prices have gone so high on fuel and insurances. We were paying $415.00 a month on a lease for our 2005 T&C Sig Series and wanted to be around $300 - $350 on a lease this time around. After first searching the new vans and seeing their prices with DVD options, we thought it would be absolutely IMPOSSIBLE. This iste gavce me all the info I needed and more to begin the negotiating process.
The T&C is absolutely speactacular so far and we couldnt be happier with its ride and FEATURES.
Find a REPUTABLE dealer that you trust. I drove 3 hours to get my vehicle because I felt my local dealers were not being 100% honest with me on the pricing with the code and rebates.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK before signing any paperwork.......NEVER be afraid to WALK OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP. It is your best bargaining tool.
Yes, but do you like it?
It looks like your persistence paid off with a great deal. I'm glad to hear you got the nav and dual DVD system. It sounded like that's what everyone wanted and anything else just wouldn't satisfy.
Enjoy your new toy - I hope it gives you miles of smiles.
I'm wondering if others have had dealers trying to stick additional fees on them? Does anyone know what the official program rules are? Are dealers allowed to do this?
Any add-on marketing, advertising, dealer prep, etc., fees are bogus. A dealer can add up to $75 for a documentation fee on top of the Friends price that is listed on the actual invoice. Also, in some states the buyer pays the TTL at the dealer, so those would be legitimate additions.
I mentioned the "marketing fee" to a group of Chrysler sales people at a local dealership as it pertains to the Friends discount and the sales manager shook his head and muttered something about unscrupulous dealerships.
Here's a link to the official rules of the program:
Chrysler Discount Programs
Note: A dealer does not HAVE to sell a vehicle at the discount price. However, they should not try to act like they are giving the discount and then tack on additional bogus charges.
Here is an interesting section from the above link:
PREFERRED PRICE:
A participating dealer submitting a claim under this Program must sell or lease the vehicle at the Preferred Price’ (a maximum of 1% below factory invoice plus a $75 administration fee) less any applicable incentive discount.
Dealer must show the participant a copy of the Factory Invoice.
Dealer installed options are negotiable between the participant and the dealer, and must be itemized and individually priced on a fully executed Bill of Sale, and Chrysler Affiliate Rewards Pricing and Acknowledgment Form signed by the Dealer and the purchaser/lessee. A net Bill of Sale without detail is not acceptable.
The Dealer Price to purchaser/lessee is calculated by adding Dealer-Installed Options and/or Over Allowance on Trade amounts to the Preferred Price.
The participant may not be charged for any preparation fees, delivery and handling charges, service or overhead fees, or any other such delivery fees under this Program. Documentation fees are allowable under the respective governing State in which the vehicle is titled. Documentation fees may not exceed those normally charged on any other sales transaction.
I used a EC number on the last day of the program and placed a order for a TC.
The salesman told me then, that there is a $200.00 administration fee for this program.
If that is what the fee was for the EC program,I do not have a problem paying it,but if it is 75.00 then I have a problem.
I have not taken delivery of the Van.So there is still time to deal with it.It has been allmost 9 weeks since I ordered it.Who knows when it will be built. I seen on TV that the plant is shut down due to the TRW strike.
Yes,this is another Michigan dealer near Chrysler HQ
It appears that the dealer is being straight with you. Under the now discontinued EC (Employee Choice) program there was the $75 documentation fee that all of us pay, employee or not. There was also a $200 processing fee that only pertained to the EC program. That was listed right on the program rules.
Any other fees, such as marketing, dealer prep, or others mentioned in my previous message are not legitimate.
When your T&C arrives at the dealer ask to see the invoice and look for the EP code in the list to verify the price they quoted you.
Here's what it says about the EC fees on Chrysler's website:
Q. Can you tell me what the discount will be on my new vehicle?
A. As an eligible purchaser/lessee you have the right to see the factory invoice and the Employee Advantage Claim Form. Ask the dealer to show you the factory invoice and look for Employee Price (EP) on the invoice. That price is what the vehicle will cost you with the discount. Effective 9/17/2007 The new Employee Choice (EC) Price = Employee Price (EP on invoice) + $200 Program fee. If you are ordering a vehicle, ask the dealer to calculate the price for you.
Q. My dealer wants to charge me a documentation fee.
A. Dealers may charge up to $75 in documentation fees to help cover the cost of paperwork associated with the sale.
For anyone who may be having a problem with their local dealer and the discount price:
Q. I want to file a complaint about a particular dealership. Whom can I call?
A. Please call Customer Relations at (800) 992-1997. They will be able to help you.
Thanks
I think I'll go armed with a printout of said document to the dealers and spring it on them when they pull these games. I have to say, the fact that I need to do this is really disappointing. This is supposed to be the easy way to buy a vehicle. Fixed price, no bs. Hoping to buy a T&C Sig this month if the incentives are good.
Same here. With interest rates dropping (my credit union just dropped their loan rates by .50%) I'm hoping that money factors on the T&C drop in March. With equivalent incentives as in February ($3250) and a lower money factor, the Signature package will become a very good deal. Money factors for February on the T&C Touring were .00181 and .00198 (36 and 27 months). Some Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep models were in the .0008 range in February. I can only hope that the T&C goes that low.
One question regarding Marketing fees in relation to the Friends program. All of the invoices that I have seen from dealers show a regional marketing charge (about $800) that are included in the invoice price and are rolled into the friends pricing. I am assuming these charges are legit because they are included on the invoice. The marketing charges discussed a few topics back, I'm assuming, are additional dealer fees added to the bill of sale. Can anyone clarify?
My interpretation, based on what was posted above, is that you are entitled to the preferred price printed on the invoice. Forget the invoice numbers, regional marketing charges, etc. The preferred price should be the sale price to you. Are you saying that the preferred price on the invoice includes the $800 regional market charge or is the dealer telling you that they must add it on to the preferred price? The initial question above was whether dealers are allowed to add ANYTHING to the preferred price on the invoice. I believe the answer to that is NO, the only exception being a $75 program fee.
We have the tow package on the vehicle.
Is their any loose wiring harness that comes with the vehicle??
The shipping order that came with the vehicle states loose wiring harness. Dealer said they know nothing about it.
Has anyone else ran across this .
Thanks
I got the part number from the one that came with our 2006 Limited. You should have received one.The factory equipment code AHT is the same factory code now as it was in 2006.
I order the trailer prep package on every Minivan we buy. We do not tow anything, but I like it when we load it up, and the automatic rear leveling kicks in so the rear end sits level.
Heavy Duty Transmission Oil Cooler
Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
Heavy Duty Radiator
Load Leveling and Height Control Suspension

I was looking at the contract for our current lease which was also bought under the EC program in February 2006.
The dealer has the fees posted on a dealer work sheet that I have.I do not know how I got it,but I do. It has all the numbers. It is showing the 75.00 fee which is OK.
It is showing a 700.00 acqusition fee.I was wondering if this is legit?I did order the Van,so I am not sure what this is.
Also, there is a DMV prep fee of 160.00 plus another 23.00 for tittle and tag fee and transfer.Do you know if the 700.00 and the 160.00 fees were legit under the EC program in February 2006?
These amounts are on the dealer work sheet. The dollar amount is showing up on the purchase agreement (hidden) but are not itemized.
Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
FYI- This is a dealer in MI that is near Chrysler HQ.
New Base: 28,210
Old Base: 27,895
Price increase= +315
Interestingly the 'Build My Own' section on Chrysler.com still shows 27,895 base.
Can any Chrysler insiders confirm if this is an across the board increase on all T&C models. Is this just T&C or are all Chrysler & Dodge vehicles going up?
Kind of surprising considering sales numbers are way down and high incentives/low price seem to be the only way to get people to consider buying right now.
Also, there is a DMV prep fee of 160.00 plus another 23.00 for tittle and tag fee and transfer.Do you know if the 700.00 and the 160.00 fees were legit under the EC program in February 2006?
The only difference in the EC plan way back then was there was no $200 program fee. I don't know about those two fees.
A DMV prep fee? I'm not sure what kind of prep is needed for the DMV. All I did was stop by the DMV branch and pay the sales tax and license. There was no prep fee from the dealer but this is for Missouri.
Also, the $700 acquisition fee sounds suspicious but I've never ordered a vehicle under the EC plan. I put a call in to my straight shooting Chrysler sales guy and am waiting for him to call me back on this. I'll let you know what he says.
