I have an offer of $39000 (incl all taxes and fees) on 228 i x-drive with MSRP of $41620. Does this seem like a good deal? If it is, what would be my monthly payment with 1000 down on 10k/36m. Would you also please provide MF and residuals that is used in calculations.

    Thanks

I get $562/mo before tax, assuming you got the base MF of .00137 (less MSDs - .00088).

What is the adjusted cap cost, if you are rolling in the fees and such.

Also, what state and tax rate?

I have an offer on a loaner 228xi with ~5000 miles. It's MRSP is $42925 and selling price is 35500. However, they are using ~57% residual because of the miles. Is this correct? Shouldn't this be the other way? Shouldn't the residual be higher for higher mileage car? Would someone please shed light into this?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,

The residual is what the car is worth at lease end. If it has more miles on it, then it's worth less (lower residual).

What term and mileage for the lease? Generally, the base residual percentage is reduced by $0.25/mile over a brand-new unit.

Just to clarify - the 1500 option allowance can be combined with the 500 loyalty and 1000 USAA for a total of 3000 in incentives - plus whatever discount the dealer is willing to offer? That's not bad! any ideas on how much dealers are discounting their inventory on the convertible? Thank you for your help!!

For BMW, anything bigger than 5-7% off sticker, before incentives, is a decent discount.

My guess is that the $41,000 is the selling price - the $906 he is asking for up front isn't enough to cover the first payment and the acquisition fee ($925), in addition to any other fees from the dealer.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted capitalized cost, and make sure you understand how they got to that number from the selling price.

Also, how many miles per year is this lease for?

New to BMW lease, thanks in advance for your help.
I saw at BMW site the following:
Lease financing available on new 2016 BMW 228i Coupe.Monthly lease payments of $299.00 for 36 months based on MSRP of $33,845.00. $3,974.00 cash due at signing is based on $2,750.00 down payment, $299.00 first month payment, $925.00 acquisition fee, and $0.00 security deposit (not all customers will qualify for security deposit waiver). Tax, title, license, registration and dealer fees are additional fees due at signing. Purchase option at lease end (excluding tax, title, and other government fees) is $20,645.00. $1,500 Option Allowance available on BMW 228i Coupe models.

The $3974 cash due is $2750 down plus acquisition fee and first month right?
The $2750 include the $1500 or do I need to come up with the $2750?

I'm using 65% as Residual Value and 0.00136 money factor but I can't get $299 per month
    Please what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks

The number you don't have is the dealer discount from MSRP.
On the advertised lease, the assumed discount is $615. This is in addition to the $1500 incentive.
The $1500 is used as a CAP cost reduction, so, yes... to get to that payment, you must come up with $3974 at signing.
The residual is 61%, not 65%

Thank you, then if I don't want to give the $2750, I will need to do MSDs, right?
And then my mf will be 0.00087?
Do I make these deposits every month or I give upfront? And I will receive the deposits when the lease finish?
    Does all manufactures accept MSDs?
Please can I use the true market value from Edmund to calculate the Gross Cap Cost(Selling Price)?

    Thanks

The advertised lease is just a suggestion. You don't have to make a $2750 Cap cost reduction. You can structure the lease however you want (of course, without the $2750, the monthly price will be higher). It's not even an offer. Dealers aren't required to give that deal.

MSDs are paid upfront, and refundable at lease end. MSD programs are generally only available through luxury makes.

You can use whatever number you want to estimate a lease payment, but you still have to get a dealer to agree to it.

Thank you very much for your help.
I just want to have a ball park figure, I know everything can change at the dealer.

    Thanks

I just leased a 2016 M235i Convertible (manual transmission) from Washington. I'm in California, so I had the car shipped over. This particular car has thousands of dollars worth of M Performance Parts on it, hence the high MSRP. Given that, plus the fact it was the only manual transmission M235i convertible left in the country, I felt pretty good about the deal below. Hopefully these numbers help someone else looking for a similar vehicle.

    2016 M235i Convertible
    MSRP: $62,095
Selling Price: $53,195 (Discounts: $1500 Fleet, $1500 Option, $500 Loyalty)
    Acq Fee: $925
Cap Cost: $54,120 (Includes acquisition fee)
MF: 0.00116 (Includes 0.00020 fleet MF discount)
    Term: 33
    Miles/yr: 10,000
    Residual %: 66%
    Residual Value: $40,982.70
    Base Payment: $508.42
    Tax Rate: 8.50%
    Monthly Tax: $43.22
    Total Payment: $551.63

    Due at Signing
    First Payment: $551.63
    Washington Doc Fee: $150.00
    CA Registration: $470.00
    Tax on loyalty rebate: $85.00
    Total Drive Off $1,256.63

Cost to ship the car from Washington to CA was $375.

I decided against using MSDs primarily because I want to keep the flexibility of trading out of the lease in the event that I decide to hop into a M2 next year. It's much easier to trade out of leases without MSDs/cash exchanging hands.

    Looks like a solid deal.

However, not sure that anyone will be able to get a similar deal if you got the last manual-transmission M235i convertible in the country.

    Congrats, and enjoy!
