Hi - I'm about to close a deal on a 2016 m235i, but want to see if incentives have improved in Febrauary before signing. Can you please provide the MF and residual for a 10K lease, best term (last month was 36 month term)?

    Thank You!

BMW 228i Convertible (Driver Assitance Package+Technology Package+Cold Weather Package) and

BMW 328i (Driver Assitance Package+Technology Package+Cold Weather Package)?

    Some April numbers have arrived.

Good news - the 36/10 residual has increased to 61% this month. MF stays the same at .00135.

Great! Thank you - hopefully the incentives stay at least at $1,000 for the build-out allowance. I'm wondering if they will extend the BMW loyalty incentive as well. I'm trying to get my dealer to still honor it since my build just missed the deadline by 2 days and I put my order in at the end of January...

So what's a good baseline number right now for leasing a base M235i? So if I start with an MSRP of $44,150 and a $925 acquisition fee, then 61% residual, and .00135 MF? I get $586 plus tax. Seem right?

Also, Michael, how do you get access to the latest rates, deals, etc?

    Thanks.

You need to negotiate the best selling price - 5-7% off MSRP is a good target.

I meant as far as comparing them to numbers a dealer might give - like if I reference seeing the MF of .00135 is that the official rate quoted by BMW Finance for April for customers with the best credit?

Hello, this is my first time leasing a car from a dealership and would appreciate your patience and guidance in a lease I am trying to get for 2016 M235i xDrive in WA state.
    MSRP: $52,175
    Tech and Cold Package

I went in planning to put down 3000 for downpayment and 36 months/12000 miles came out to be mid 700's for a lease.
I was expect more towards 500-600 range but this looked very off and ended up walking away from it.
Did the residual value get really bad or does something seem off?
    Thanks again

    .00135 MF and 60% residual.

If adjusted CAP cost is $49,500, then $615/mo.+tax.

Mid 700s seems wrong, even with 9.5% tax.

I'll guess they are marking up the money factor and adding in more than they are letting on.

Two questions, 1) who determines the residual value for the vehicle at the beginning of the lease, is it the individual dealership or is it BMW financial. 2) Are multiple security deposits allowed at all BMW dealerships or can a dealership refuse to allow MSD’s on a lease contract. Thank you

    1. BMWFS sets the residual; dealer cannot modify it
    2. MSDs should be allowed at all BMW dealerships; I've not heard of a dealer refusing to write up a deal without MSDs if requested.

    Hi,

I'm looking at my first BMW, an m235i. This will also be my first lease, and I want 12k/year for 36 months.

The numbers I have from the dealer are:
MSRP of 52,349 (has tech and cold weather packages)
    Cap Cost of 50,500
    Money Factor of 0.00175
    Residual of 60%

I think the MF is too high, as is the Cap Cost. Would like to get an opinion on current lease values in the upper Midwest right now.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, the MF is marked up the maximum (base is .00135). 36/12 residual is 60%

In general, 5-7% off sticker for BMW is a good transaction price. Does the cap cost include any up front taxes or fees?

That cap cost does not include fees. The dealer's offer was capitalizing $50,500 for a monthly payment of $674. Tax/Title/License/Acquision total $3,626.

I'm talking to other dealers already; your benchmark of 5-7% off the sticker is very handy, thanks for the tip.

Using your prices, I get $641/mo before tax with the base MF of .00135; the inflated MF takes the payment to ... wait for it ... $674.

Ouch! I wish someone would give me $33/month over 3 years ($1188) for being an a-hole. Anyway, I'm better prepared for my negotiation with a different dealer now. Thanks so much for your help Michael, you are brilliant. I'm looking forward to my first BMW!
