Texas unfortunately applies sales tax to the entire purchase price, which makes the lease payment more expensive than most every other state.

Do you know the adjusted cap cost, assuming you aren't paying the taxes and fees up front?

Hi everybody. I just signed a lease for a new 2016 GLE 350 and I wanted to share my great deal with the board. I used a ton of information from this board to negotiate my deal and I just wanted to "pay it forward". Even the finance manager at the stealership complimented me when she told me that I "seem very familiar with the lease programs offered by Mercedes". She knew that she wouldn't be able to con me with their usual tricks.

2016 GLE 350 (Lunar Blue) with grey leather interior, ventilated seats, running boards, and parking assist package

MSRP 62,120
GCC 55,697 (10% discount)
NCC 57,878
MF .00039 (.00049 - .0001 for signing up for autopay)
36 months/ 12K miles
Only $835 in sales taxes (Texas) since the dealer used tax credits to wipe out the majority of the tax due which should have been around $3600
Acquisition fee = 495
Dealer fees = 342
Maintenance package = 850
Drive off amount = first payment + fees = $1041

$699/month

I used a silver star certificate from my American Express platinum card for 1K off. This was able to be stacked on the other deals.

The dealer also used a "friends of Mercedes Benz" discount to get the car below invoice price. This discount is typically reserved for family members of MB workers or people who work at the dealership. Dealer applied 1K of dealer cash offered by Mercedes to lower the MSRP even more.

It pays to shop at the end of the month and also at the end of the current model year when they are clearing out old stock!

You need to have the co-branded American Express platinum card and not just the normal Platinum card. The official name is "Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Mercedes-Benz". They look almost the same except that the one that you'd want has the Mercedes logo on the front to the right of the Centurion.

Each year that you spend 5K, you get a $1000 certificate good toward the future purchase or lease of a new Mercedes-Benz. I was skeptical when I received it because I figured that there would be all sorts of fine print to prevent me from using it, but it worked out great for me.

I am in MD trying to lease a GLE, and learned that I have to pay the sale tax for the full sale price at signing my lease.

I'm getting quoted .00147 and even a whooping .00174 from BMW--where I've leased 3 cars (no one I know works there any longer) and have A+ credit standing. Huge markup over my last X5 lease. Is the base MF achievable here? Thanks!

Assuming RWD, I show .00049 and 55% or 42%

If you contact enough dealers, I'm sure there is one that will give you the base rates.

MF is marked up (base is .00044), as is the acquisition fee (base is $795). So yes, both of those can be better.

I get $649/mo with those numbers, including the marked up MF. So, the net cap cost isn't right, either.

Residual is probably adjusted to account for the miles -- figure .25 per, or $2250. That would add $62/mo to the lease.

Something isn't adding up ... get the actual residual value as well as the net cap cost.

Rolling in the acq.fee, and assuming the DMV fees are in the drive-off amount:
$602/mo.+tax. That's a little over their quote.

If you are happy with the selling price, it looks like a good deal.
