Find out the net cap cost - if higher than the selling price, what was added?

My guess is taxes, acquisition fee and dealer fee.

On question #3, does everyone qualify for that total sum of lease cash or is it only certain folks (e.g. College Grads, Military, etc.)?

I don't see that lease cash on Honda's website, so how would I have known it was available? Maybe I didn't search Honda's site thoroughly enough or is this only something that comes up in the dealer showrooms?

The lease cash is a factory to dealer incentive; the dealer can choose to pass it along to the customer in the form of a lower selling price.

Use that knowledge to negotiate your best deal.

I have a question for you. I have a Passat lease ending in 6 months and I want to get an Accord Touring or EXL with navy in NYC. My question is how much would I lose on a 2 year lease versus a 3 year lease? I'm looking at that type of lease because I know that for 2018 the Accord is going to be totally redesigned and I would like to buy one, but at this point I'm in between model ending year, and I'm not crazy about paying for an extra year on a lease when most likely I'm going to buy the new model. Any advise?

Two year leases often are worse than three years. For the Accord, the 24/15 residual is 61% for the EXL and 56% for the Touring; 36/15 numbers are 52% and 48%.

But, you'd have to run the numbers both ways to see what works for you.

The sign and drive discount for Honda is .00010; that takes the Accord MF to .00028 in May.

When does the current MF and Residual expire? Would the lease cash incentives be good through the same date as well?

I currently have a Toyota Camry lease that ends mid June and would prefer to lease the Accord with a sign and drive lease sometime before that but in June. However, l want to ensure that the MF, Residual and bonus cash amounts would be the same in June as they are now- otherwise I would choose to lease in May.

I am in NJ if it matters.

Hello. My family is currently shopping around for a 2016 Accord EX-L without nav/sensing in NYC where sales tax is 8.875%. Residual is 54%, money factor is .000338 Leasing terms are 15k/36mo. MSRP is $29,390 with destination and handling. We were able to get 1 dealership down to $25K cap cost which would have amounted to $2K down and $271/mo. That seems a bit high to me. Has anyone in NYC made a better deal on a similar lease? The dealer said all taxes, admin, acquisition fees, etc. are included in the price. I appreciate your responses.

That is high. Get a breakout of the fees to see what they are adding. Doc is limited in NYS to 75 so it's not that. 25k cap cost is a great price but their numbers don't add up...

Looks like $25K is the actual adjusted CAP cost, I get $269/mo., which is pretty close.

$2000 upfront?

$271 1st payment
$595 acq.fee
$75 doc fee
$920 tax

That leaves a little bit for title/registration fees.

$4400 discount from MSRP ($1750 lease cash).

Seems like a good deal. No need to put the $2000 upfront. Roll the tax and acq.fee into the lease and the payment is around $313/mo. with just $500 due at signing..

The $1000 is a dealer incentive. It's good for purchase, finance or lease. The $250 bonus is for lease only. These are dealer incentives that they don't have to disclose, but you should know about it, so you can incorporate that knowledge into making your offer price.

Please provide lease MF and residual for 3 yr/36K lease on a 2016 Honda Accord Sport Manual in SoCal (zip code 90278). I am also curious about what the total $1,250 lease cash means. If TrueCar.com dealer is quoting a price of 23,264 for a car with MSRP of $25,100, does this mean that for a lease, I can subtract $1,250 from the $23,264 to use as the selling price for lease payment calculation?
