May I know if MF and RV for unlimited willy wheeler and willy wheeler W the same? I would like to know 24/10k and 36/10k. Question#2: which unlimited model has highest RV at 36/10k? Thanks!

Yes, completely different numbers.
Make it easy on yourself. The 4-door is the Wrangler Unlimited.

Residuals are 79% and 74% for both trims on the Unlimited.

So the Sport S unlimited has 79% RV and Standard MF as 0.002?
the Willys Wheeler Unlimited has 74% and Standard MF as 0.002?

Yes, that is correct. We think the standard MF is around .00200, but don't know for certain.

Standard MF and 69%/64% for 24/36 months, 10K/yr for Rubicon.

Add 1% for Sahara.

10K/yr is the lowest mileage allowance.

A slightly different question on leasing here. I'm presuming most of the leases discussed here are Chrysler Capital? Has anyone leased through Ally or US Bank? In talking with various dealers, I'm running into a lot of deliberate obfuscation about leases in general, but one thing they have brought up that I have no answer for is "Leasing company X is a better deal" (likely better for the dealer, but I digress).

What experiences have other people had with Chrysler Capital, Ally, or US Bank? US Bank does not seem to receive sterling reviews for their lease-end service. Thanks in advance.

The only numbers we have are from Chrysler Capital. Third party leases for FCA products often come with large incentives to offset the higher MF and residual that are quoted.

And, as noted, end of lease charges tend to be higher with banks other than those associated with the manufacturer.

All at 12k per year.

What is current MF? If I see something higher from the dealer, they are just building in more profit, right? Just want to know if it is OK for me to negotiate that back. I am sitting on an attractive price for the vehicle but I am worried I'll lose it through lease negotiations. What should I be on the look out for?

Also, I've seen comments in this forum that Wranglers are bad in terms of lease deals. Can you tell me why? Should I just suck it up and buy? Thanks for teaching a newbie!!!

Standard MF and 59%/57%/54% residual.

The Unlimited models have pretty high residuals, while the 2-doors are just okay. Money factors are high for both.

I'd be more likely to buy a 2-door, given the good real-world resale, rather than lease.

1. I have not yet seen a supported MF for the Wrangler; it's been the standard MF for as long as I can remember
2. 79% or 74%

Be advised that we don't know the standard MF; we think it's around .00200

A new program come out each month... residuals could change, but they might not.

MSRP. $50,495 Total Cap Cost less cap deductions equals $48,483.80 (includes an acquisition fee of $795) and sales tax rolled in to cap cost of $1091.80. Net Trade and additional 1k down amounts to total cap deductions of $4800.06 which leaves NET CAP COST of $43,683. Residual Quoted 61%. Money Facto .001460. Monthly Payment quoted w/ taxes $510.30. Something isn't working here...

Using the numbers you've provided, I get $467/mo plus tax.

What state and tax rate is this?

This doesn't look like a Chrysler Financial lease, either, so we won't be able to validate the MF and residual.

Thanks for all the great info in this thread. I've spent the last 3 weeks researching leases and this has been a big help in deciding that the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Freedom Edition is the best option for me. Nicely equipped and still considered a Sport so the residual is so much better! I really wanted a 75th Anniversary Edition, but the Freedom Edition is almost too good to pass up - though they are MUCH harder to find.

Anyway - my question...the dealers I've talked to don't seem to be using the Chrysler numbers of 73% Residual / .00183 Money factor (3yr/36K). They wanted to know where I got the numbers They have US Bank at 80% Residual (yes, 80%) but a money factor of .0029 (7%). $40,545 Sticker with a payment of $390 and $0 out of pocket + 4 free oil changes. Any risks in the 80% residual? I don't plan to buy it out. My goal is $379/mo which is $100 less than my current RAM Lease!

The independent bank lease comes with a big rebate from Chrysler, and along with the high residual results in a lower payment.

Advantages:
Lower payment

Lower CAP cost (in case you need out early, the payoff will be lower)
This advantage goes away as the lease gets closer to maturity.

Disadvantages:
With the high residual, your options at lease end are limited. You won't want to buy it at that high price, so if you've gone over your mileage, etc.. you are pretty much stuck with turning it in. If leasing works for you, and that isn't an issue, then this isn't a problem.

It's an independent bank lease. USBank does not see you as a repeat customer. They sell their leases wholesale to the dealer and are not worried about you buying another Chrysler product at lease end. They have no incentive to "take it easy" on you at lease end. That said, if you take care of your vehicle, then you should have no problems. You just won't have any leverage.

$390/mo. looks like a great price for that vehicle.

Thanks for the additional info and insights/thoughts! I'd prefer to lease through Chrysler, but the USBank deal is significantly better and I like leasing so it should be ok. Just waiting to hear if the other dealer can match the deal on the color I prefer - if so, I'll be a first time Jeep owner!

Here is the deal I was finally able to get my dealer down to.

2016 Willys Wheeler Unlimited

MSRP: $39,570
NET CAP COST (TTL and all fees): $37,115.28
73% residual
36 Months / 12K year
324.29 a month all in

Deal is through US BANK, dealer is claiming a MF of .00145 for US BANK vs .00193 for Chrysler Cap, both with the same 73% residual.

Sale price we agreed on 36k flat, as I always negotiate leases on sale price first before even mentioning lease then always try to force their hand into no mark up on the MF.

What I don't have is the breakdown of the $1,115.28 that is included in the NET CAP COST. I can only assume that around $600 is acquisition fee and the remaining 500 or so is registration, title, dealer/doc fee. No tax on this one for me as my trade is actually higher than the sale price of the car and I am in Texas (leases here taxed on full cap cost not mostly payment)

Seems like a fair deal to me. I had to go Willys to get the color and options I wanted as no Sport 24S had them. Have no need for the mud tires on the willys so dealer even agreed to swap to the 17" wrangler SRA at no charge (though I am sure they will add a few hundred in dealer add to put those mud tires on another stock wrangler)

I am so used to leasing cars with 3 or 4 zero money factors, so paying this amount of interest is new for me on a lease, but have to lease this one for tax reasons on an upcoming move. Dealer also still hasn't answered if US bank has a pre payment penalty should I decide to buy out lease at any point.

Wrangler Unlimiteds will always have a high MF, relative to other vehicles. However, the insanely high residual is making up for that large rent charge.

Yes, get a full breakdown of that extra $1100 .. some of it is the acquisition fee (don't know how much that might be for US Bank leases), dealer fees, and such. Not sure if you can roll the gov't fees (DMV costs) into the cap cost, but I suppose that is a state decision (I know I can't in Colorado).

All 57% residual except for Sahara, which is 59%

Add 2% for 12K/yr or 3% for 10K/yr.
