There is no reason why you can't expect a $45,000-55,000 car to have miles below 20.
Now that comes as a surprise. Who exactly voted the STS as having interior of the year? I'm sure at least the Audi folks would have to argue with that, I know in my opinion the STS has the segments most low-rent, '90s era design relic of an interior.
I guess the better question to ask this fellow is whether he bought the car for his personal gratification or to impress others. If the latter he could have spent the same money on a USED Farrari and get heads to turn. For that matter he's only 10 grand south of a NEW Maseratti. That will turn heads as well, the poor man's Ferrari.

The fuel door is automatically locked when you lock the doors, and automatically unlocked when you unlock the doors. A very nice touch IMO.
Pete
I have the tire pressure right and no noise issue or any flaws to report.
It does need a passenger seat adjustment to match the driver side. I agree that having an interior fuel release would be nice as well as the option of getting rear seat adjustments and sunscreen as an option with the sport model. The craddle for the fuel cap could be a better design IMO too.
But all said, this is one great looking and running car.

M35x, 2300 miles, 13.8 mpg.
If you city-drive, or step on the gas like you did when you were 18 years old, you will get very poor mpg's. The car is geared for strong bottom-end performance as well as strong roll-on speed. It is the bottom-end that eats the most fuel.
I drive it like I'm 23. :P
John
Why do you want an interior fuel door release, when the fuel door is automatically locked and unlocked when you lock and unlock the doors. Seems to me the release is superfluous. Perhaps you weren't aware of the auto locking?
Pete
Try www.tires.com and select the wheels for a 2006 M35X and the avail wheels and plus sizes, too, will be shown.
Several other web sites too -- try google or dogpile and enter Infiniti Wheels.
Love those turning headlights!
Our '95 MB S420 had a similar locking mechanism as the Infiniti, I thought it it was very well-designed. The only reason I find for the interior release is forgetting which side my gas filler is on; due to the confusion I get switching between my car and my wife's... other than that...?
Have you reset the fuel economy yet? My first few tanks of gas had poor MPG, but they have improved 3 MPG since then (and I think I am driving more aggressively now than earlier).

I'm still going in circles. I became addicted to a left side tank ... and now I'm spending half of my gas money getting situated to a right side tank. Illogical. Tank should be at the driver's side.
Another nag for Nissan.

Seems awfully arbitrary to me.
Actually, based on residual values of third-party lessors, the M's resale value will probably be somewhat higher than the GS's.
sometimes, the way a car is engineered, they kinda have to fit the fuel tank where they can...whether its left or right...
i'd be curious as if to that little arrow is there - let me know!

Yes, I have reset the fuel economy with every tank. I think I just have a very thirsty car.
Thenebean,
Yes, there is an arrow indicating which side the fuel tank is on.
Live and learn! Coooooooool! Doesn't change the fact that I'm habituated to a left side door and it will take me a little while to adjust to the other side.
Two schools of thought: 1) Having the filler on the driver's side is more convenient or 2) Having it on the other side is safer -- when parked beside the road, it's away from traffic. Clearly, there is no consensus.
This is an area, frankly, that I [usually silently] think should be standardized. And, while we're at it, why not make the fuel input at the rear CENTER of the car so that it is less of an issue. On the other hand, if all right or all left were the norm, it would seem to me that being head to head at the gas pumps would be a thing of the past.
Also, how about pulling to the forward pump for a change?!? Would it kill "you?" :confuse:
blov8r,
you learn something new every day! ;-)

pinhead ... sure did today! LOL I never noticed the little arrow ... but sure 'nuf there it is.
Still lovin' my M-car. Best ride I've ever had, and I've personally owned > 75 cars in my lifetime. :shades:
Have a quote from a DC area dealer for M35x w/Tech and Journey of about $2k below MSRP, incl. freight from another dealer. Need to decide real soon since the car pretty much matches all of my color/option preferences. Is it a fair deal?
However, it is NOT an unreasonable deal whatso ever based on reading this forum for some months now.
Unless you want and are willing to wait for the exact moment in time for the best of all possible deals, take it.
