Each MSD lowers the MF by .00008, I believe.

@bitematstar That's a very complete quote, with the base rates, and all information included. (pretty refreshing). The calculations are correct, as well.

The only thing you can do with that is negotiate the purchase price.

If it were me, I'd pay the $475 + $8.75 upfront, as those are non-taxable items. If you roll them into your CAP cost, they are being taxed in the monthly payment.

So by rolling that $483.75 into payment I'm paying an extra 8% on the $483.75? So an extra 40ish dollars over the 3 years to avoid forking out 483 up front? 

Am am I understanding correctly?

Tax and finance charges on that money... almost $67 total extra, over paying it upfront.

It's amazing how rarely dealers actually do the math, to see what results in the lowest payment. At some point, Lexus has a 39 month special that's cheap, and they seem to assume it will always be that way.

got an RX 350 F Sport (last night) for 3 years/12k per year, MSRP of 60284 but sale price of 55209, paid 3.5k down payment, 63% residual and 0.0015 money factor but paid 9 MSDs (money factor after MSDs was I think 0.00078), paid all of the drive offs out of the pocket, with 9% tax in LA the payment became 513 per month including tax. makes sense?
Dealer said residual goes down starting from today that's why I got it late last night!

Congrats on your deal. Don't have the April numbers yet but if the residual dropped, I would suspect the MF would as well. They tend to move in tandem.

I didn't realize residuals changed that often. The drop in residual, even with the change in MF, made the numbers I was running go up by $30/mo. (2yr/12k).

Do they change every month?

They can. Current residuals we have are valid until 7/5/16. MF numbers are good until 5/2/16.

Lexus residuals change quarterly, so they are more likely to have big changes, compared to a make that changes monthly.

Sorry I just saw this post and also posted a new discussion. I got an offer today for a 2016 rx 350 in NJ. The offer as 460 a month 4000 out of pocket 10k per year 45 months . Msrp is 51873.00 and the dealer stated the selling price is 46000. I was wondering if this was a good offer.

The lease numbers are 57% and .00130 for 45/10.

Using your prices, I get a payment of $463/mo, so pretty close to your quote.

How does the $4000 at signing break down? I'm assuming the NJ state tax is part of that.

Ask them for the break down. If they don't want to share, they may not be the kind of dealer you want to work with.

I don't think it matters when; most salesmen aren't familiar with MSD. Something to take up with the finance folks.
