While it may not be the best deal, I think I did pretty well. It definitely helps to know the numbers and negotiating procedure. I caught them trying to tack on the maintenance package for like $1250 at first and called them out on it. They immediately tried to lower it to ~$625, but I declined and requested the NSD for tires instead. Only thing I don't know is if the NSD was worth it.

We don't know the selling price, but that's a pretty cheap payment for that Civic.

If I had to guess, I'd say any package of aftermarket stuff they sold you is not worth it. But, the payment is what matters, in the big picture.

The 36/12 residuals are much better. Just 6% less than the 24/12 numbers.

That's exactly right. The highest trim levels come with the lowest residuals.

Ok so i finally made the purchase.. Thanks for the mods here.. For touring i negotiated to $24050+595(lease acquisition) Residual=55% and mf=0.00070 I paid 100 + 380 (dealer, title and doc fee) and rate came to 289+tax per month.. I think i got a good deal on a touring for 45k/3yr lease.

Oh i forgot i got wheel locks and 1st service is free as well

Is it reasonable to think we might be able to negotiate a lease deal on a base model 2016 civic in KY with 0 due at signing and payment under 180 per month after rolling in taxes, registration, doc fee, etc? How would I back into knowing the sales price to negotiate in order to get close to this payment? THX

Looking at a 2016 civic ex msrp $21875 includes $835 destination fee and sale price is $20000 includes $75 processing fee what lease numbers would i look at 24/12k and 36/12k any lease cash it would be new york 10701

With the prices you've given, I get a payment of $238/mo for 24 months or $202/mo for 36 months, before tax.

No lease cash this month.

I assume it is tax, because in MA it is 6.25% and 197.18*1.0625 = 209.48, which is what he said. Final question - is it fair to email other dealers and ask them if they can beat this price/ should i give them all the information and which dealer is offering it?

I wouldn't ask them to beat it.. Just shop around and see what happens.

I don't.. but with it being $165, it's most likely just title/license fees. Not much room to add anything else. Just ask them for a breakdown.

The difference between your sale price and the CAP cost is $813.75. So, ask them for an accounting of that, as well. $595 of it will be the acquisition fee.

Just read the contract and check the numbers for accuracy. Pay close attention to lease term and mileage, payment, and money due at signing. These numbers are pretty small, so anything big should jump out at you.

Would need to know the MSRP and the adjusted cap cost (selling price plus any taxes and fees you add in) in order to model a payment.
