Audi Q8. One black and one grey. Like any other Q whatever, but very wide visually. Coming to a suburb near you...

There will be a lot of white ones on the eastside, a specific demographic seems to be into that.

Also forgot to mention that I’ve seen quite a few copies of the Jag I-Pace on the ground in Switzerland. I don’t know when they hit the States but production is definitely underway.

Someone in the parking garage at home got a new Prius C yesterday. Has to be one of the oldest designs on sale in this market, dating from MY 2012, with little apparent update.

Saw my first new-gen Leaf. Driver was slooooowww...

another new temp tagged RDX today. This one was black. From behind, IMO not an attractive color on it. Looked a lot better in lighter/brighter colors IMO.

A grey Model 3. Lack of an exterior plate drew my attention, otherwise may not have noticed it.

    ...putting flame suit on

Saw a new Camry, White with a pano roof.  It was obviously a top trim model but not a sport.   From the back and side I actually think it’s quite attractive. The front is another story.

Our Camry rental was black/black. I thought it was fairly attractive for a sedan. But, I never saw the front of it.

Did it have the weird lines coming down from the tail lights?

    image

I think this car will look better in dark colors. Tons of them on the road here. So much styling.

I think those dark lines are only on the SE/XSE model.

And, can't see them on the black ones. ;)

I think it will look better IN the dark, as in pitch black nighttime in the wilderness on a night where clouds cover the moon.

Didn’t have the black lines.   It must have been the XLE or whatever the top trim is.  It also had wheels that were very fine spokes, not an open design.

Audi A5 fastback sedan done in a British Racing Green with biscuit interior. Nice looking car, still had temp tags on it, so fresh out of the box. I guess a 2018 model though---the '19s aren't out yet, are they?
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,507
Saw a 2019 E450 wagon at the dealer. MSRP 79K. I don't recall, but I think it didn't have leather.

New RR Phantom, this one was understated, silver, at night, took a while to recognize it (parked, so the Spirit of Ecstacy was hiding).

Sheesh, that black line coming down vertically from the lights on that Toyota looks like a piece of black rubber gasket has come unattached there. WTH.

It's interesting to me that some brands are going hog wild with adornment, while others are migrating away from the faux dynamism:

I always liked bright metal at the rocker and also at the beltline. If the sides of the car are slab-like (unlike the M-B above), I like a body-colored rub strip there--which almost no car has as even an option anymore.

I like a little chroime - just a little. Especially around the windows. German makers now apparently have returned to the 80s and are offering black trim, with names like "night package" and "shadowline". Not really to my taste, especially on a non-tuned model.

The MBs are a bit curvy, very little of the slashed-about nonsense embraced by some makes.

temp tagged 2019 Santa Fe. Looks good in person. I need to swing by the dealer one day and scope one out.

I saw the other day that VW has delayed the launch of the Aerton here in the US so the car I saw a few weeks ago must have been a CC.

On another fortum I frequent, someone saw an Arteon in Virginia:

Apparently VW HQ is there and they get prepro and testing stuff.

that looks like a toon car. Those wheels look awful.

VW has taken the angled/directional wheel thing from Honda and kicked it up a dozen notches. Not a style I like.

Not just the style. They just seem way too big.

Interesting, that's exactly the same color of the one I saw here in Denver. Maybe that's what I saw because I'm not sure the CC comes in that color.

Saw a new Range Rover Evoque convertible today. Why, why why? I can't think of many other vehicles that make less sense.

In the parking lot at work a black Colorado, 1st new midsize pickup in the lot.
Interesting that there is only 1 new Accord and no new Camry's.

I like the looks of the current Colorado. I did not like the weird styling of the previous ones at all.

really? The prior one was pretty much a traditional squared off PU design, and the new one is a lot more swoopy and angular. If anything I would have thought the new one would qualify as weird!

The wheelarches of the first Colorado are weird.

IIRC the Evoque cabrio is gone for MY 2019. I think I have seen 2 ever.
  • uplanderguyuplanderguy Member Posts: 16,916
Agree with fin--the wheel openings were weird, and the parking lights were above the headlights in front. To me, looks like bad '70's Japanese styling, LOL.

Saw a poorly driven (hard to believe, I know) Bentayga in traffic today, along with a new style Lexus ES - like the old, but edgier with sharp C-pillar DLO fail.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,507
Saw a Nissan Kicks on the road, and quite rare, not one but two Model 3 with front plates.

Nissan knocked it solidly outta da park with the Kicks. I don't really like SUV's much, but, body-design wise this new design of theirs rocks like Foghat. Live at the Seattle Center Coliseum, May of 1978. I know, because I was there.

a Nissam Juke Nismo. all black. Did not actually look that bad, for a Juke. Probably about as good as you will get. a redesigned model I guess, much narrower headlights.

and a temp tagged Infiniti QX30. also in black. Based on where it was, might have replaced a prior generation Tuscan.

My friend did that once, right in front of me. He told his first date: "I really like those spaces between your teeth".

    If looks could kill....
