The new BMW ix (?). The all electric SUV. BWM shook things up and made the rear look strange.
$9900 lease cash on those babies, at the moment. And, only a .00111 MF, this month.
You-know-who was quite interested to learn about that....
I drove one. It's nice to drive. I can't understand a car this big having a fixed rear seat that doesn't move at all. And you'd still have the fun of figuring out where to charge it on a trip...
Not my pic (grabbed from a local FB group), but it looks like the local Autoport just received a shipment of new Lamborghinis today.
I see mine!

Across the street neighbor got a new Lexus RX. I couldn't even recognize it from the rear. It's... a vehicle.
My neighbor across the street also got a new Lexus. He had talked to me about an RX, but I think the one in the garage in an NX. His daughter inherited the Outback they had (generation before mine, I think 2012 or 2013).
Lots of chatter in MB groups about the new (214) E-class. The wagon is more evolution than revolution (dash layout is more of a change) which is nice, my car won't look dated as quickly:
Sedan is also not quantum leap on the outside:
I believe these will be MY 2025 vehicles in the USDM.
Yeah, the odd dark grille surround is supposed to be a nod to the EVs.
Regarding grille design, the Euro market usually has 2 or 3, where I think we only have one (non AMG) anymore. I think the wagon is a "sport" while the sedan is a "luxury" (or "avantgarde" or similar). Grille isn't as flamboyant as a Genesis thankfully, although I could see the copycat vocation of car designer trying it.
Does anyone know if they're going to bring in the hybrid version of the new E-class? I read a piece in Car magazine on the E300e, so that one is going into the British market.

Nothing has been confirmed regarding USDM models. Going by history, I don't expect to see them on these shores before Q2 of 2024. European market has had hybrid E for around a decade now (even a diesel hybrid!).

My interest was tweaked by the reported 70 mile electric range. That could be a game changer for hybrids.

Hybrids are the bomb. took a ride today to visit family. about 27 miles each way, back country roads and a little bit through town. Up and down hills, a good stretch in the 50-60 MPH range.
on the way back, moving along at normal speeds, the Maverick did 13 of 27 miles electric, and returned 53 MPG. And this is a small battery mild hybrid that does not even plug in, so basically just a normal car to use.

PHEVs are all the rage, especially for folks who aren't yet ready to commit to a full EV.
Met a neighbor who has an Ioniq 5 (as well as a Soul Crystal Red CX-5), loves it. Didn't have time to talk in detail as I was walking my 13.5 y.o. dog along with my son's lunatic puppy.
I'm still not ready for my only car to be electric (although I now have two "only" cars!), PHEV is a good way to dip your toes in the electricity. More electric range would be nice, especially in the colder months, but serves my purpose. The fact that the PHEV A7 was essentially the same price as the dino A7, with the then big tax credit, made it an easier choice to go mixed breed.
Let's see how the tech progresses, maybe all shocker in a couple of years.

I could see a hybrid model making it over, unless a suit thinks it will cannibalize EQ sales - but I think there are plenty who are either unwilling to take that plunge, or are put off by the bathtub styling. Europe will likely have multiple hybrid variants, as they always have many more powertrain choices than here.
There was a hybrid W221 S-class (S400) sold here from MY 2010-13, but it was a mild system and was ignored by buyers, I have only seen a couple in person.
Took the kid's dog for a walk around their neighborhood and saw a Rivian R1S parked in a back yard. It was blocked in by a couple of other vehicles. The dog and I were enjoying the walk so much, I didn't pay much attention to it. I think it was green.

Neat how the car is labeled "Big Boy" by the Frisch's sign on it.

Yes, it has an ST badge on it. When it turned and I got a better look at it, it seemed like it was probably an XLT.

RR Cullinham (however you spell that). Just street parked like any other car. Life in an expensive beach town!
Downtown a row of 3 Porsche SUVs at the curb. As ubiquitous as CRVs elsewhere. Many panameras too.
Also seems like broncos are taking over from wranglers with this crowd. They are everywhere.
