New cars I seem to be noticing quite a few of lately - HR-V, CR-V, and maybe surprisingly, Frontier - I think with Tacoma prices sometimes getting wacky esp for the new model, these might find buyers among the value conscious.

I see a ton of the new HRVs. I helped my in-law to (soon) be lease one last year, and she loves it.

have not noticed many Frontiers, but I do tend to see lots of Mavericks now. Supply seems to have really ramped up finally. I still remember when it was a novelty to see one that wasn't mine!

Saw another new HR-V today, I wonder how many are upgrading, as the new one looks worlds better than the prior model.

Saw a new style Tacoma today. Basic model, no plate frames, turning onto the road leading to the local airport rental car return - are these in fleets already? I know the prior Tacoma became something of a fleet special.

I've never been a fan of BMW's slope backed +1 SUVs. Other makers do it better.

Look at it this way. These new coupe sport utility vehicles are the same as the two door, personal luxury coupes of the 70s and 80s.

That's a good way to look at it - maybe the biggest difference is that the old barges weren't pretending to be anything more than decadent land yachts with 20 feet of trunk and hood protecting a two door car.

They haven't fooled me..... the Macan is a perfect example; it's just a lifted 2006 A3 hatchback/wagon/errr.... sportback with big wheels and tires. OK, so the interior is better, the motors are stronger, the chassis more sophisticated, but it isn't drastically different.

That being said, the Macan is well engineered and sportier than other SUV pretenders.
