Rally fans eat it up, though. They see the link to the WRC and like that kind of thing.

You're too old for one of those, andre! :P

I saw a MB500 today. It looks like a huge Dodge Magnum, but it's still rather impressive from the exterior. It's the first time I've ever seen the vehicle.
  • prosaprosa Member Posts: 280
Quattroporte. Dark blue. The styling is even better in person. It's just not right for a 4 door to be that attractive.

I saw a Quattroporte the other day. Parked at the curb, too, so I was able to get a good long look.
Okay, it's a very attractive car, but why the Buick-esque portholes? Its front end already has a slight resemblance to the Lucerne and LaCrosse.

HSE sport. Surprisilngly sharp looking, especially with the big wheels. LOoked smaller (and lower) than I expected, but made quite a statement. Interior looked very nice too.

2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.

Saw one of those new Jeep Behemoths. I can't believe how small the 3rd row is given the outer size and shape. Space efficiency seems poor.

I think the Mazda5 is just as roomy and half the size!

Those Commanders are all over the place here, probably purchased by middle aged people who think the Scion xB and Element are hideously boxy.

Saw a Lexus GS coming home yesterday. I think they're starting to blend in 'cause I hardly notice them any more.

I think the Sienna minivan got a very minor face-lift, because the head lights look different now. I've seen a couple of the new ones, guess it just came out.

They should drop the 3.5l in there...

I spotted a new Maserati coupe this morning, and a very dirty Mercedes R-class.

Saw a grey Kia Rio today, it looks much better than the outgoing model.

    Also a white H3 and A8.

did they get rid of that awkward little triangular thing in the center of the grille?

I saw another Mercury Milan today, this time in silver. Now normally I don't like badge-engineered cars, even if I've owned a couple in my time. I just like to see more of an attempt done to differentiate the models. But somehow the Milan comes off as looking nice and tasteful, and upscale from the Fusion. And it even wears that Buick/DeSoto/electric razor grille better than many Mercs.

I still don't think I've seen a Commander yet. I've seen an occasional Lexus IS. Don't really care for 'em from the rear, but I LOVE the front-end!
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Oddly enough I liked the Milan too, more than I thought I would.

Didn't notice the grille on the Sienna, I'll look closer next time.

...maroon Chevrolet Impala and my first sighting of a blue Pontiac Torrent. Actually, it is quite attractive - nicer than the Equinox.
  • gussguss Member Posts: 1,167
as I was driving by the Hyundai dealership , a new Azera was going out on a test drive. Looked really sharp in black.

Made wonder if their is enough market for two Avalons.
  • navigator89navigator89 Member Posts: 1,080
    a lot of cars.

First, three Mustangs, two black and one red. And then two black STS V8 models.

Also a white 3 series, and my second S class in white. I keep confusing it for a Maybach. I couldnt tell which model it was though.

And at a classic car dealer I saw a red 64 Mustang a gold 69 Camaro. Nice looking cars.

I too saw a Pontiac Torrent but it was silver. I agree it looks alot better than the Equinox. Also I saw a gold/beige Fusion with new dealer tags in the window. While I love the Fusion, I did not like seeing it in "Dune Pearl". The black one I saw a few days ago looked awesome. Maybe the gold looks better in the sunlight because it was really cloudy today.

Red Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla(forgot the color of the car though), Black Chrysler 300 Series, Mazda Tribute(I think black color), black Audi A6,and black Mitsubishi Eclipse.

BTw, I see people like the way the Torrent looks better than the Equinox. I like the way the Equinox looks myself and have since its debut.

    Maybe sales are picking up...

There's a silver one in the garage now, gotta figure out who here at work got one.

Saw one on the way home Friday, and then another last night on the Beltway in MD.

I searched the completed auctions and saw that very few Solstices are selling on eBay. Maybe people finally wised up about paying way over MSRP the first year, or maybe the Solstice isn't quite as hot as expected.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
That's quite ambitious, especially when the whole idea was a car starting under $20k (though just barely).

    Fiero isn't collectible, LOL.

Sorry about that accidental posting just now

I have to laugh... there is no way the solstice will become that big a collectible with the volume they are making and the materials used. Unless it's the awesome mallet version I read about. The sky looks better anyway.

I saw some really cool stuff recently.
Not new but one of my favorites of all time and pretty rare, a BMW 3.0 CS driving out on the town saturday night. I love those things, soooo underated as a classic

Also It's kind of cheating but walking to work this morning (transit strike Grrrrrr) I waked by the maserati/ferrari showroom (not dealership just promotional showroom) on Park ave. and saw that they have the new Birdcage concept car on display in the window. I hadn't seen this thing in person yet and the pics didn't really do it for me but Damn is it awesome... you have to see it in person to believe it, it's about two feet high. Very cool, I hope they make something like it instead of that overpriced and frankly unnatractive mc12 thing.

I saw my first Lucerne on the road today. It was silver, not a bad color. Not offensive, not groundbreaking. Reminded me A LOT of a Q45, which is debatably good as they sell about 10 of those a month nowadays.

Saw a new R-class for the first time today. Obviously in black. It made me question whether the Toyota Matrix came in a LWB format :)
  • merc1merc1 Member Posts: 6,081
Also a white 3 series, and my second S class in white.

    The new 2007 S-Class?

    M
  • navigator89navigator89 Member Posts: 1,080
Yes, it was the 2007 model. I didnt see the model number.

Remember I am in the Middle East and thus see a lot of European cars, and they come here first before America. For example the B Class and 1 Series are sold here but wont come there for another year or so.

The S Classes we get here are European. They have the S350 here but not in America. Similarily we get C240, E240, C200, E200. I think in America it starts off at E350, C350.

Duh and all this time I thought you were here! :confuse:

Oh yeah the new S has been on sale over there for a while now.

  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,414
The S350 is actually in NA now. The B class is in Canada anyway too.

I wonder when the new S will be here. I can't wait to get a look at that interior.

I saw a Toyota Century last night parked in front of a hotel in midtown. That is their high end limo not sold in this country, all the Japanese bigwigs have them. I have no idea what one was doing here or how much it would cost. Not diplo plates or anything either.

    kinda odd
  • navigator89navigator89 Member Posts: 1,080
    Which city was this in?

I read somewhere that the Century can cost upto $90,000!!

Check out these pics. It looks like one of those Soviet era KGB cars.

I've seen one of those in Vancouver, from the late 80s (you can ship anything 15+ yrs or older into Canada so long as it passes inspection). They are actually kind of cool, they remind me of an old Mercedes.

I see the one in that link finally has a floor shift, older ones have a very weird column shift.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Seen a few of these lately, 3 or more.

Saw a new Accord sedan this AM.

A new Civic sedan as well.

Spotted a light green Tribeca on the beltway, actually followed him for a good distance.

    And a Hummer H3.

At least from the front, the Lucerne looks something like the Maserati Quattroporte, right down to the port holes. Definitely not bad company!
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,414
Yeah it's not an awful looking car, it looks expensive in its own way. It will look even more expensive than it costs when you can get them for 50% MSRP after a year.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Saw a Ferrari on a flat bed, DC plates so I'm not sure why it was being towed...

I always thought the Maserati Quattroporte would make a beautiful Buick!

Spotted today: new Ford Explorer and a silver Pontiac Torrent.
  • jcat707jcat707 Member Posts: 169
I saw plenty of cars today while sitting in traffic making my way to the mall. I saw like 3 or 4 06 Explorers (all Eddie Bauer models), a silver Pontiac Torrent, my first ever Izuzu Axiom, 2 Fusions(one silver and one burgandy, a Milan in a nice looking greenish-gray color, a Zephyr in a not so nice looking blue and last night I saw a Phaeton speed past me on the freeway.
  • carguy58carguy58 Member Posts: 2,303
Milan this week. I like the front of it but I don't like the triangle tailights in the back.
  • carguy58carguy58 Member Posts: 2,303
seen 3 Mazda 3's in the last 7 days with new car dealer tags on the plates.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,414
I saw a black Solstice this morning

Saw a coupe, then a sedan. These are selling briskly, it seems.

Followed an LR3 to work today, also. Boy are those boxy. In a good way.

I hope this gets all over the Internet. I found a picture of the new Camaro on the Internet today. It is on www.powellchevrolet.com. Its a dealer in Texas, why these pictures were on this website is beyond me, but if the new Camaro is like this, I will by one. There are a few computer drawings but one picure that seems to be a real photograph of the new Camaro. So check it out. You will love it!!

That's sort of a waste of such a stylish car :(

So, how are sales down in Texas?
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,414
I've seen 2 Lucernes today, one in black, the other in kind of a silver-gold mix. For a GM product it's not awful looking at all.
  • carguy58carguy58 Member Posts: 2,303
new Ford Fusion in white. Also seen an 06 Explorer and white Acura TL with both having new dealer tags on them. Even though the Explorer along with the Big SUV market has seen a dip in sales the 06 Explorer in NJ I have seen a few sightings of so the Explorer is still a popular model.
