Go to the www.carmax.com web site in the new car section. They are already discounting 2007 300 SRT-8's between $3000 and $5000 off MSRP, which puts them well below invoice. They will probably be even less near the end of the year once the new incentives are factored in.

Thanks for the info.

I don't know about the '07's but the '06's are available at deep discounts. I just picked up one ($46,000 MSRP) for $39,000 and there were more to be had. Also received a great M/F. There is one local to me with 3,600 miles (still new, driven by GM's wife) that it appears the dealership is finally ready to move. The car is located in Fayetteville, NC.

John

Hi there,
Is it true that there are only 200 Inferno Red's in the world. I bought one last march and I love it. Is it worth holding on to at the end of my lease?

Thanks for any info you can give me.
• goofytimlgoofytiml Member Posts: 41
Howdee heidee! I am an Inferno Red H.E. owner... and a two 300C owner (our first was/is an Certified Pre-owned Midnight Blue '05 model - build date 6/14/04).

I don't know how many IR H.E.'s were produced (I thought someone had given an estimate in one of the forums I frequent, but I can't find it). Anyway, AFAIK, IR was the predominant color, i.e., many more than 200, probably more than 2000. I have been collecting owner's Mfg date and last six VIN numbers, color, etc., in this thread:

Make our own Build Sequence for Heritage Editions

over at 300Cforums.com since last April. I would love to have you post up the info on your H.E.'s to see where they "fit" in the growing list of recognized owners!

Now that IR is an SRT color, and one for the 2007 300 models, it will become even more noticeably out there, but less distinct from the "original" IR H.E.s.

I would like to make a correction to my previous message. I was initially told by Chrysler that this was not a certified vehicle. I had no paperwork stating that I had a 8/80 warranty. My apologies to Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge.
• cbartlettcbartlett Member Posts: 3
8/80 Powertrain warranty is only on a Used Certified Pre-owned vehicle. New 05's had a 7/70 from the factory.

I'd like to add my 300C Heritage to your list.
Color : Brilliant Black
Date of Manufacture Mar 20, 2006 14:00 (2pm)
Last 6 of VIN 420979

Purchase date 04/22/06

I have a Chrysler pamphlet for the Heritage which states that the car will be a limited edition with production limited to the original. This was about 2000 for the 1957 Sedan and 400 or so for the convertible. If we can accept this, then production should be held to that range.

I wish that that the cars were numbered.
• goofytimlgoofytiml Member Posts: 41
Imorhr83900... I'll be glad to. Thanks for posting. You are the FIRST addition to the list from outside of 300C and LX forums. Congratulations!

Personally, I don't believe production of H.E.s was limited to 2400 vehicles. My understanding there were 400 or more slated for Canada alone, but the vast majority are in the U.S. I just don't know anyone who knows the actual number. The one who would be most likely to get or provide such a number is called ResumeSpeed on 300Cforums, but as yet even he has been unable to determine the final count.

I, too, which they were numbered... although we now know that a plaque number, ala SuperBees and Daytonas, is just a plaque number that has no relationship to the order in which the cars came off the production line. That, too, is unfortnate IMO.

So to see where you fit on the list... just refer to, and bookmark, this thread over at 3CF. I'll update it in the next few minutes.

My brother in law bought 300 from Folsom auto mall, CA for $19995, and he paid $21775 out the door. There was an ad for $19995 and we called them and they said they have 2 available. When we went there it was sold..hahaha...as usual. We said we just called 30 minutes ago. Anyways, the bottom line is the ad was saying $19995 for 2007 and we got it for that price....Nice car

Is there anyone with buying experience with the 300C with AWD? Like to know what you paid and how you like the car.
• coolrunningcoolrunning Member Posts: 117
Chrysler has done some mysterious things in the past, but the Heritage Edition is one for the books. They built the best and most loaded version of one of the most popular cars they ever sold, did not list it in the sales brochures, gave glimpses of it in photo ads, and never made any official announcements about this special edition car. They didn't even mount a "Heritage Edition" badge on the tail to separate it from all other 300C's. The majority of dealers contacted weren't able to answer any questions about the car, even if they had one in stock. The Inferno Red Pearl Coat paint was not listed as an option in the 2006 300C option brochure, but was only available as a checked box for the Heritage Edition on the Chrysler website! I love the car, and plan to keep it forever. In fact, I bought a second one identical to my first. The car is so nice, I bought it twice... My wife and I refer to them as "our twins". You may see a number of 300C's in your daily travels, but you are not going to see many red Heritage Editions. I have only encountered one when I was vacationing in Florida, and it was a beauty. This car is a keeper. I could not find one in El Paso, Texas where I live, so I had to go to Tucson, Arizona and Dallas, Texas to buy my two. I never get tired of looking at them.

Chrysler is still practically giving these 300C away! I just got a brand new 2007 300C SRT-8 for over $5000 off MSRP. Also, I leased the car through Chrysler for 36 months for less than $500/month with NO money down! Thanks to Chrysler's inability to manage inventory, the dealers are trying to unload all these 300C's. If you prefer to get a loan rather than a lease, you can probably get about $9000 off MSRP on a remaining 2006 model.
• tomtomtomtomtomtom Member Posts: 491
Man, that's a great deal. My dealer only have one inferno red SRT8 so I could only get $200 over invoice

See my post in the Chrysler 300C Lease Questions forum on how I got such a great deal.

I already bought the car and was quite happy about it.

Last weekend I also purchased a 300C Touring in pale linen gold-two tone leather-sunroof-awd-$26,000 included title & tax as well as upgraded stereo w/6 disc in dash changer. Love it!
At one time I owned a Chrysler New Yorker-great reliability! For 8 years I drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd.-couldn't ask for a better vehicle!
I have a friend w/ a 300c touring and she's very pleased. I'm hoping my new 300 is as good as my previous Chrysler products. I guess anyone can get a lemon of any make-just hope it's not this one!
• yeayea628yeayea628 Member Posts: 3
I purchased a 300C Touring last weekend-pale linen gold-two tone leather-sunroof-upgraded stereo. I asked specifically about the gas grade required and was told regular unleaded is fine. I was reading in the sales brochure that mid grade is recommended for the touring. Mine runs fine on regular. My mechanic grandson said to stick with regular and to keep doing what I usually do (I run a tank of super every three months.)
I also own a 96 Maxima -purchased in 2000 for my daughter. That car has made the rounds through my daughter, daughter in law, & sometimes I drove it. Now my stepson is driving it. While it's unarguably a terrific car there is no comparison to the 300! The 300 is so much more car in all ways! (I did look at new Maxima's, Camry's, & Acura's b/f purchasing this 300) Take the plunge-you'll love it!

There's a $2500-$3000 dealer cash incentive til 1.31.07.
I just bought a new '06 bright silver Touring ed. with sunroof, protection package, and Sirius radio for 26k even ($2500 below invoice). On top of that I negotiated $500 above KBB dealer trade-in value for my Cirrus. So I drove away paying $3k below invoice. Love the car - best buy on the market.

My VIN numbers are:
2C3LA63H16H421068 AND 2C3LA63HX6H418024.
Both are Inferno Red and loaded. The only difference between them is my wife's has the DVD entertainment system and mine does not. What are you trying to do? Also, do you have any idea why there is nothing identifying these cars as HERITAGE EDITION besides the red, white and blue door badges and the seat emblems? I think there should have been a block lettered chrome badge on the left corner of the trunk that set these beauties apart from the rest. I just say fake Heritage Edition door badges and trim for sale on a website that sells grilles. It was only a matter of time.
• goofytimlgoofytiml Member Posts: 41
Thanks, but I only needed the last 6 numbers of the VIN. I will begin to post your info line, BUT... I also would like to know the MDH code from each of the drivers doors (that tells the date and time off the mfg line), and the date you brought each of them home.

If you check click the link for the thread at 3CF, you can read what I am trying to do... just establish when the cars were made, and when people brought them home.

Here's the link... again.

BTW... ours has the rear VES also... and our grandkids are oging to love it. Wife already does as a great passtime when on long trip vacations (like last summer).

Just got an email from Chrysler "Chrysler Update-Chrysler's Future Inspired" in which the cover text concerns the Nassau concept. But at the bottom is a little blurb about:

"Showcasing Our Rich Heritage … Edition

The 2007 Chrysler 300C Heritage Edition unveiled at the NAIAS features:

* Powerful 5.7-liter 340 horsepower HEMI® V8 engine
* SRT-style performance seats
* All chrome grille
* Supplemental signal mirrors with puddle lamps
* Berber floor mats
* Special tribute badging

Doesn't sound any different than the '06 version... just somewhat disappointed to find out that the original run WASN'T the only run! Wonder how many they're going to make this time... and not number them... again. No info on available colors.

I am trying to help my mom get the best price for a new 2006 AWD midnight blue or 006-2007cool vanilla AWD 300c. I found one with the following options plus dealer added GPS and chrome tail light covers for $34k OTD (this was with 6.25%tax) I thought this was a decent price, but from reding this discussion, I think I am wrong. If someon has time, could theu look over the sticker and see if this price is worth it or if I could do better?

You can contact any DCX employee and get a number to use their discount. I hear each employee has the opportunity to give one person of their choice "less than invoice" pricing.
The 300C is a great cat. Had our RWD 06 model since Nov 05. Still looks/drives great. Never thought about the AWD version, but we don't get much snow here in AL.

I owned a 05 Chrysler 300 Touring since 2 years ago. But it's now 27k miles into its life and I've been driving it carefully ever since I got it. Everything seem s fine except they had to fix the alignment a few times ( a common issue among all 300's)when it was less than 1000 miles and they also replaced the rear left power window module and flushed the software. Dealers got those issues taken care. But I was told the camber bolt has to be replaced in order to adjust the alignment again. And it is not covered under warranty. I was a mechanic in the service too so I understand how things work. In this case, it's either the mechanic at their dealership was trying rip me off by charging $460 to replace it, or Chrysler had a defect bolt on this one. How can it be damaged when this bolt sits at the center of the wheel? So I contacted one of the warranty Rep to discuss it, but this lady seemed know nothing about mechanical problems and she called up the service Dept. A few minutes later she returned to me saying that Chrysler 300's has different alignment design and it's costly to fix the alignment issue. Then she kept on saying the $460 job of replacing this Camber Bolt is considered "Normal Wear and Tear". What a joke!!!
I like this car and I expected to see big panel gaps and some issues as people stated on forums. But now I believe why people also said "Chrysler doesn't stand behind their products".
To those people who consider Chrysler products as their daily drivers, be prepared to deal with quality issues during life expectancy of their products. If you want reliability and service, go somewhere else.
And to Mercedes Benz, they made a big mistake to associate with Chrysler. This kind of experience truly damage the image of a world class car manufacturer. Mercedes should sell Chrysler, NOW!!! They don't deserve it.

This is second hand, but an H.E. owner over at 300Cforums.com just queried DCX Customer Assist about the production number of Heritage Editions... and got and ANSWER! The number... 4615 in the U.S. I've heard there were H.E.'s in Canada also, but at least we have a bonafide number for the U.S.

So if you have one of these outstanding cars enjoying, and it keep! Also please post to my Heritage Edition Build Sequence thread over at 3CF.

Sorry cm3, but I think your troubles were more from having a VERY early build 300 - probably pre-June 2004 build date?)... I had no trouble with my June-2004 built 2005 pre-owned 300C, and no problem with my new 2006 H.E. (15k miles in 12 mo) and now no problems (in the first two months of ownership) of my 2007 Magnum SRT8. I traded the '04 build 300C for it because I got the trade price I wanted ($22k) and a purchase price $10k under the MSRT8 sticker!

I am so disappointed with my 06' 300C I bought it brand new from the dealer and now I'm having Transmission problems it only has 3000 miles on it! I had noticed a leak from under the car in my garage and its like a pinkish color and really oily so I checked and nothing so I took it to the dealer and they said the gaskets had to be replaces. And within the same day its ready to go I don't know if I can trust them because they are lazy and it just makes me mad to pay $43000 and for it to be giving problems and it hasn't even reached 5000 miles! Well if anyone else has had this same problem please let me know what I should do, because at this point I want to trade it in.............. :lemon:  :confuse:

I've had the same issue my 2006 300C Heritage at approximately the same mileage. My local dealer said that the fittings needed to be tightend. I had the same experience on a 1999 300M. I haven't had any problem since. Both cars were manufactured at the same place in Canada. Maybe they just need to fire the wrench-robot...
• renzo07renzo07 Member Posts: 10
:D I know thats for sure...Do you still have your 300C? Well I hope it doesnt give me anymore problems but thats not the only thing everything is falling apart and ungluing, ugh! Than the Rain-sensing wipers dont want to work!

That is a nice car and you did very well. However, not to be nit picky (okay this is nit picky :) ): There is no car that is a "300C Touring". There is a 300 Touring and a 300C (the latter has a 5.7 liter Hemi, the former a V6). There is a 300CSRT with a 6.2 liter Hemi. :shades:

Read your owner's manual! Octane requirements are clearly listed and there is even some warnings about using other than recommended octane fuels (misfueling. One service writer at the dealership told me that they have to reset the "check engine" lights on some cars that come in becaue they are tuned for only regular unleaded, and the owners think they are going to get more power with premium fuel. Instead, the engine has trouble burning the fuel at the air/fuel mixture settings for lower octane fuel. It needs more air to burn higher octane fuel. You can actually end up getting worse mileage!
• xtecxtec Member Posts: 354
Your right about if your car uses regular,it not a good idea to put in premium.I do recommend going up one grade. If your car calls for mid-grade,I wouldn't go down one grade to save less then 2 bucks.Don't go below what it calls for,you will have less performance, more carbon buildup
lower MPGs.I run premium in my 06 Charger SXT,3.5,and just got 20.4 in city with no A/C.My wife's Mazda Tribute 3.0V6
just got just over 20 mpg with A/C.Its rated 19 city.I worked on cars that were suppose to have premium, but regular was used. There was tons of carbon buildup.

Guys can you tell me how much over invoice should I spend on a 300C? I heard the Chrysler sold to Cerberus news really shake buyers confidence...
How about its maintenance costs?

Btw I've been told buying a brand new one isnt worth it since it loses almost $10k the 1st year, is it true?

If it is, then how much should I look forward to spend on an 06 or 07 300C?

I spotted a silver on beige 06 300c, 19k miles, almost fully loaded w/ protection group, sound group, wood trim, sunroof and xenon.

This is my 1st time for a Chrysler, so any infos are very appreciated.
• goofytimlgoofytiml Member Posts: 41
If you're buying a car worried about depreciation, then don't bother buying a car. They are drop as soon as you taken them off the lot. Buy the car because it appeals to you... is fun and comfortable to drive... NOT as any kind of investment.

As far as I'm concerned for a 300C (or even and SRT8) you shouldn't pay anything over invoice. It should be invoice or under, somtimes well under, depending on incentives. But, depending on the size of the dealer and your local market you "may" get the story of $500 over invoice. That's the typical story given by my local dealers in our small market town.

If you can get that '06 300C with 19k miles for around $24k I'd consider that a very good deal. Dealer auction price is more like $22-23k. More likely the lot is asking something like $27k or more and they will never get that.
• xtecxtec Member Posts: 354
Kelly Blue Book for that car retail is 31660.There's not much depreciation on this car.Like I stated on the 300c forum,The Chrysler 300 then the Charger had the least depreciation,in its class.
• qbrozenqbrozen Member Posts: 33,644
just what class is that?

'11 GMC Sierra 1500; '98 Alfa 156 2.0TS; '08 Maser QP; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c; '20 S90 T6; '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel; '97 Suzuki R Wagon; '96 Opel Astra; '11 Mini Cooper S

• xtecxtec Member Posts: 354
Full size.I read it in a dealers magazine. The Charger showed a 1800 value over the Impala.I don't know what the 300 was compared to,but the LX cars hold their value.
• qbrozenqbrozen Member Posts: 33,644
It must be just full-size domestics ... or something specific like that. We certainly know its not beating Lexus in that regard. Of course, Lexus is also supposed to be a step up in class, so ... I dunno. Full-size, mid-priced class? Not a whole lot of competition there, I don't think. Grand Marquis, Impala, Ford 500 (and the rebadged brethren of all the above, of course).

but the LX cars hold their value

As long as the Magnum isn't included. I'm pretty sure the 300 trumps the Charger, too. It seems to be vastly more popular, anyway.

'11 GMC Sierra 1500; '98 Alfa 156 2.0TS; '08 Maser QP; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c; '20 S90 T6; '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel; '97 Suzuki R Wagon; '96 Opel Astra; '11 Mini Cooper S

• xtecxtec Member Posts: 354
I don't think the Magnum was include. When it first came out it was popular, but that seems like its gone away.I will say My Charger is the best Chrysler product they ever made, and I don't think that the Chrysler products get a fair shake.I been driving Mopars for over 37 years and never cared about what the critics said.Chrysler is the Rodney Dangerfield of the car industry.I worked on cars and trucks for 25 years, and worked on the big three, and became a Mopar man after I saw who had the better cars.Thats my opinion.I specialized on police cars, and the Mopars was superior over the Chevy and Fords.
• goofytimlgoofytiml Member Posts: 41
Magnums are not considered "cars" per se. It's a UTV or SUV or "truck" for that matter. That's why the MSRT8 is exempt from the ridiculous "gas guzzle" tax that unnecessarily drag on the 300 SRT8 and Charger SRT8 sales.

Yet, I just got repetitive 22 mpg on the highway over a 2800 mile vacation in our MSRT8 carrying 4 adults, a baby, and all the baby's parents "stuff" (stroller, nursing donut, pillows, car seat, etc! That's real-life mileage 1 mpg better thant the EPA rated estimate. I AIN'T complaining one bit!

I don't mind at all having two fairly unique vehicles!
• johnny4016johnny4016 Member Posts: 112
I just bought the 2007 Chrysler 300C SRT Design. It has the 5.7L in it. I have read about half the owners manual and according to it, it says to use 89 Octane for the 5.7 liter engine. The smaller 2.7 & 3.5 it says to use the regular 87 octane.

Does anyone know if the 07 300C SRT Design is suppose to come stock with the Cruise Control Sensor behind the grill? The sensor will slow your car down when you have the cruise control set if your coming up to another vehicle that's driving slower.

Has anyone got the Blu-tooth system? If so, do you like it and is it working out ok?
• coolrunningcoolrunning Member Posts: 117
I have the U-connect system factory installed on my 300C and it works great. It is a little time consuming to program the auto dialer with all your most frequently called numbers, but after that it all voice commands and hands free. I love it, since I can never seem to hold on to a little cell phone in my big hands. It is well worth the price and works with any bluetooth enabled cell phone. It is also invisible to anyone (cops included) in areas where cell phone use is illegal in moving cars. :shades:

I have a 2006 300C and I also had a problem with the seal (I think it was the "O" ring), however, there has been no problem with the transmission. There was a very small leak that I noticed right away, took the car into the dealer, replaced the seal (which only took about 1 1/2 to 2 hours) and have not had any leaks or any problems with transmission since that time, that was over 30,000 miles ago. I was told that they put the wrong seal in considering the size and/or weight of the HEMI engine as opposed to the 2.7 and 3.5 L engines, so they had to put a heavier/sturdier ring in. :) peace

I'm negotiating a price for a 300C. The MSRP is $38,805 including destination. With leasing as a non-Chrysler loyalty customer, I'm now at $32,400. I think there may be a few hundred more I can get out of the deal, but not sure - any thoughts?

I had the exact same transmission oil leak on both of my 300C's at about 14,000 miles. As you said it was a "while you wait" repair. I took each one of them in on different days, went to lunch and came back and they were done. No problem since. The "O" ring cost was under $1.00 but covered under warranty. If that is the worst "problem" I have with my Chryslers, I will keep them forever! :D
