@nyccarguy thanks for the input. going to bring the infinity to?
My Infiniti is still under factory warranty.  Since my CPO car has less than 15,000 miles on it, Infiniti covers 2 oil changes & 2 tire rotations.  I'll see what the dealer changes for service and how their service department is.

that was somewhat odd with Infiniti. Because you have low miles, CPO warranty goes to 75K. If you have over 15K, it would be same years, but unlimited.

Honestly, don't think most in here keep any vehicle past ten years unless it's a specialty or unusually great vehicle. Think the average might be around five to six years of ownership. But lately, with tech changing so rapidly, most of us want the latest and most up to date and who can blame us. We love this stuff, it's in our blood and that's just a life log thing. If we're lucky enough, we eventually have the right income to move up the food chain to better and nicer vehicles. As it should be.
Some of us bring the baby stuff to see if it will fit our present/future needs. In our house, we bring everything home and park in the garage to make sure they'll fit and if not, cross them off the short list. Am lucky that we both like smaller vehicles now since they are the perfect fit. But even when we had three in diapers at the same time, the wife refused to even consider anything larger than a mid-sized sedan. Unless I would drive a minivan, we'd never own one. Just wish they'd have had CUV's back then as is they would've been perfect. Think I'd consider a smallish CUV again when we do move and have outside or covered parking. But, with the recent events down here, looking like we'll be here another five to seven years. Such is life I guess.

Indeed, sandman. Iluvmysephia1 will not be getting a new car, he failed his test. Actually, I fell 4% short. For the second time on this test. Oh well. Medical Board exams are very difficult and they are very, very. ..tough. So much so that this KC employer cut me loose from my job today.

I'm interviewing Thursday for a new job in my home state of Washington. Wish me good fortune, guys.

it helps to not put many miles on. Even the Q40 NYC is getting will still be plenty modern enough in 10 years most likely for a car for local duty, putting 3-5K per year on it. Heck, driving a 2005 Acura TL today would not be too hard to put up with.

the next step forward might actually be replacement head units that have all the good stuff like Carplay and a big screen.

good luck Iluv. Pretty harsh for 4%, since passing vs. just falling short would mean absolutely nothing in terms of your ability to do the job. Hopefully you land something just as good and move forward from there.

My wife and I both work for companies that are willing to hire people for roles that require certain licenses or certifications without them and make their offers contingent on obtaining them within a period of time. If they don't make it they're shown the door.

It has brought us a ton of talented people that would have never considered the industry and that we would never have given a second look.

The attrition is brutal, though, when it happens.  Virtually everyone is upset by it - the company, the employee and their teammates.

The silver over tan is kinda blah, but 72k miles for $9k? Tempting.

We have a Chrysler 300 for a rental car that I drove last night - that drives quite nice. I couldn't tell which engine it has - I doubt the rentals have Hemis but if it's a V6 it sure drive smoother and faster than my Durango.

"When G-d closes one door, he opens a window somewhere else", something my grandmother told me as a child when I didn't get into the club at school I really wanted. I know you will land on your feet really soon as life is all about timing. Something I truly believe. My kid passed the medical part of her pharmacy boards the first time but on the less important part, missed by 2 points, 2 points!! Next time she took it, passed it with flying colors. So you aren't alone in this situation. But have faith that something will come next that's meant to be. And then the newer vehicle will follow that.

Watching my neighbor wash his 2005 911 and 2015 IS 250 in his driveway. 911 is dark blue and the IS is charcoal, looks very good in that color. Drove one at work a few months back and it drove very Toyotaish. Didn't care for the drivers cockpit as it felt a bit confining. Felt the 200CT was even more confining as it's all surrounding the driver. Think I could get used to it but at first, didn't care for it. At work, the average time I get behind the wheel of most vehicles is 20 minutes to maybe half an hour. Got stuck in rush hour Tuesday night in the Escalade and to be honest, didn't care for it. The seats were very flat and a bit slippery and the HVAC and infotainmant stuff took some time to figure out. Prefer the simple rotors and dials the Golf and most vehicles use, hate the touch stuff in certain Hondas now because one must look at it and take eyes off the road at first. Sure that within a short time, ones fingers could just do it without any visuals but prefer rotors and knobs, like the "kiss principle" in most things really.
Got a good outside look at a few new Imprezza's the other day parked at the dealer. Like what they did with both the sedan and wagon. Couldn't sit in any but the interior looked very nice and can't wait to get inside them and feel everything. A good size vehicle for me and if the cvt is anything like the Civic's, wouldn't be to bad. Of all the cvt's out there, Honda nailed it perfectly and one I think could never tell it wasn't a regular automatic if they weren't told. It's that good and nothing like most of the others. See a lot of Subaru's down south here for some reason and their stylists are finally bringing some good looking iron to the marketplace!

I don't have any certifications in my field, nor is my educational background in this area. However, none of the educated, certified folks around me ever say a thing about it because they all know they pale in comparison to what I bring to the table. Hopefully their credentials make them feel better about that. LOL

The value quotient is really what drove me to start looking at the G37x/Q40 more seriously (other than the fact that my snow tires would fit). I'm buying a 328 hp, RWD based AWD car with leather, sunroof, navigation, bluetooth for about what I paid for my 2015 Subaru Legacy 2 1/2 years ago. I can't wait to post my initial impressions.
Sounds like a great buy and car. My brother in law has a red G37 that was a CPO, around 20k mi, in perfect condition. I haven't ridden in it but he loves it and has had it for 2 years or so. When do you pick yours up?

They really are a phenomenal used car value. I wonder how the backseat and trunk space is for car seats and baby related things...
Once you move him to a forward facing car seat at age 2, things get exponentially easier. Right now with your little guy in the rear facing bucket seat that comes out, then the next rear facing car seat it might be a tight squeeze for whomever is riding shotgun. We did it with 2 in our 2007 X3, then the 2010 TSX. I can't imagine it being any smaller than the GTI. Your wife's X1 is the primary baby transport anyway, right? So in a pinch it will do the trick. When my son was born, we had the Prelude and my wife's 2000 Mazda Protege ES.
New car day* is this coming Monday!  I'm so excited!

Thanks, guys. I really appreciate your well-wishes. I was voted 'Most  Persevering' amongst the 11 of us college students at Respiratory school for a reason. I do my best and I never give up. I'll find something else. They're giving me two months more employment, though. That's pretty cool!

I have learned some new things at this KC job that I'll take with me to the next one. The '11 Kia Soul is performing like a champ and doesn't deserve ta be tossed aside, that's for sure!

@iluvmysephia1, sorry to hear. Some people just don't test as well as others but that dosen't mean they're of any less value, and aren't good at what they do. Stay the course, and forge ahead.
