for you people afraid of a high mile volvo, can you handle a VW with 65K on it? I kinda like these. Price is not too bad I guess.

Here. I had an extended warranty on the 2010 Forester, and it paid for itself three times over. Still miffed about losing that one...
Was the extended warranty considered at all in the "value" of the total from the insurance company, or able to be refunded from the dealership/manufacturer? I know with the maintenance plans at Audi, you basically are buying 4 services, and you get 50% back after the 1st service, 25% after 2, and 0% after 3. You can't win.

Well Rosen where they make cars these days everything so tightly packed together doesn’t help to know what they’re thinking a lot of times with the design these things crazy so now do you still have to put it back together?

    First, I don't consider 2011 "old."
second, that is just too many contrasting colors for me. Silver outside, then black, orange, and blonde wood inside?

Third, this brings me to my Rover adventure today. 3 hours to extract the darned alternator! And the most convoluted intake design I have ever seen!

You are a braver man than me!  Looks like it would never come out the bottom either due to a beam or something in the picture.

I’ve done two alternators in full size Fords and it took longer to get the part and tools than to do the job (-and I’m no mechanic). Having to take the intake off is just silly.

Correct that it would never come out the bottom. I can barely squeeze a hand up that way to pull all the darned electrical connections that had to come off. I had to stop yesterday due to kid duties. I have the parts and planned to rebuild the alternator myself, but after seeing the condition it is in, I think it safer to change plans and spring for a new one. There are pieces of the brushes everywhere and burn marks.

I just hope I remember where everything goes, especially all the electrical connectors!

I do, too. Color is one I saw at an auto show a few years back on an EX35. I like the 3.7 in that wagon. Always thought of those to be the perfect daily driver for an empty nester or couple. Looks small, but perfect for one or two people who need a wagon on occasion.

Oh, it would hurt me. Deep in my cold, Puritan soul. Where I keep my wallet.

It is nice on the new car, which is still quite quick, to be averaging over 30 so far on RUG. And I happened to check the RDX today. Seems to be still sitting at around 21-22 MPG in 43,000 miles. Thanks to a lot of long trips where it does well. Sucks around town. That’s on a mix of PUG and RUG. Car does not seem to care which it gets.

Sounds similar to the one I had. Acceleration was really good. LIked the looks. But, the steering and handling in our A-Spec’s is better. If your boss jumped into the full suite of safety systems, leather, etc, he’s in the $50K range. Step up to the RED edition, and with the options similar to the TLX, you’re looking at $60K plus.

I liked mine. But, I liked it because I got a crazy good deal on it. At upper $40K to $60K, it’s not interesting to me.

Bradd has a better car over the “new” Q50s, in my humble estimation!

The Q50s have sky high sticker prices compared to what they lease for. Big Dicounts off sticker and a Money Factor that's uber low make for a nice monthly payment. Infinitis are good cars, but just don't seem to hold their value well.

Agreed - if you're persistent and have VPP, you can get them in the upper 200s with drive-offs; higher trims in the mid to upper 300s. Red Sports lease in the upper 400s with drive offs.

I don't think BMW has handled CarPlay well from the get go- requiring Navigation in order to get it, for example. It was also a clunky implementation; a lot of my clients-even some acolytes of the Church of Apple-tried it and ended up reverting back to the non CarPlay setup. That said, in most newer BMWs you can access Siri by just holding down the voice recognition button- and that's really all I care about.

Apple CarPlay was a $300 option on my wife's X3. Other than answering text messages by voice (about once per month), she could live without it.

I definitely will. In 3 years I'm guessing the next gen Q50 will be out or close to market too.

@graphicguy I don't regret my choice one bit, there's very little I'm disappointed with on the Acura and anything I have cited is subjective. If anything it would have been good to have another choice in the hopper, I was basically down to the A-Spec and an A4 P+. The current 3 series, aside from the 340, doesn't appeal to me and I've never really warmed to Mercedes, though maybe I should put them on the list in 3 years too. With no lot queen (aka a 6 speed manual) to use as a bargaining chip this time, we couldn't get close on numbers for the Audi so I turned the car in and leased the Acura.

I know you can get refunded the balance of extended Subaru warranties if you sell the vehicle during the warranty period (or, it is also transferable to the buyer - seller's choice). In my case, we had a 7/100 extended warranty, and the car was 7.5 years old with 108,500 miles at the time of loss.

Apple maps work; not the best but serviceable. As a Spotify user, Carplay is valuable to me as it puts it up where I can better use it. Same for podcasts, etc.

I do wish there was more remote access via carplay. Example - my carplay headunit in the 86 has an obd2 connection so it can tell me range, temps, tire pressures, and more. Seems like it would be easy to make this visible on the phone remotely. My Volvo already does this, I can see fuel level, odometers, trip computer info, locked door status, temp at vehicle and I can start it remotely too. I'm sure Apple could do something cool here.

That's another BMW feature that can make CarPlay redundant; ConnectedDrive allows you to control Spotify and several other apps from the steering wheel and/or the iDrive.

Well not a punch for me but as I posted last week I was helping a buddy look for a lease deal on a Tacoma and after finding a dealer in Columbus with the make/model he wanted, I confirmed they were contracted with U.S. Bank. After getting the figures he asked what I thought and I recommended he try for another $500 off noting that asking for anything more and they would likely let him walk. He went for $1,000 and as I anticipated they said no, they were as low as they could go. This morning they apparently had a change of heart and met him in the middle with another $500 off so he took that. He ends up with a $36.5K Tacoma TRD Sport that's pretty well equipped for $275/month for 36 months and 10K/year and only first payment, DMV, and a $250 doc fee which is standard in Ohio I think. Ran all the numbers for him and everything lines up. No dealer in PA, using Ally or TFS, was even close.

Thanks to @kyfdx for the help and advice, and for getting me what the RV were through US Bank.

Ha. No, I'm keeping the TTS. It would be my "better/sportier" daily driver. Going from the S4 to the 1.6T Optima was a bit too much of a drop-off for me as a daily driver. The TTS helps, but I'd still like a better daily next time around. On the flip side, the low running costs of the daily have allowed my budgets to include funds for things like those huge Brembo brake kits, tires, and track days.

I see a CPO 400 HP Infiniti as the better "Kia Stinger" option for me in 1.7 years.
