I missed the year.. I did see the BMW was a 2013, and thought you were picking comparable options. ;)

T-Belt service (belt, tensioner, water pump, balance shaft seals) & the clutch (along with throw out bearing, flywheel, & pressure plate) are done.  No worries there.  Were the spark plugs changed?

I can tell you from experience, that it is much easier to take my boys (11 & 9) in the Prelude now that they don’t sit in car seats.  Rear facing seat is going to be tight for the front seat passenger.  Also, there are no LATCH anchors for the car seat.

That being said, I am thrilled every time I get behind the wheel.  It’s “my car.”  Even though it is far from the in the same shape as this Green one, I still get compliments on it.  With the amount you drive, you could theoretically keep this car for a LONG time.

It would definitely not be a DD, but would just be a fun car to keep - I'd probably get a Subaru or similar for DD if I landed it.

I'd feel better about it if it weren't a Type SH though.

I could live with that quite easily. Would be perfect for my current needs.

of course, I would want something like this (conceptually) to be in the 4-5K range, max, for it to make sense.

I believe someone said the tbelt was 12 yrs ago, though, so I'd consider that a current need.

Kick start only on that bike, so I hope she's sturdy. Old Triumphs can be a bit fussy, and they need very good maintenance---tightening, oiling, tuning. Any neglect and the bike will punish you.

    Cross post from RWTIV:

I drove the Viggen. He wants $4k. It needs some seals and gaskets done to the tune of $2k. Body could use some spiffing up and a good detail, but nothing unexpected for a 15 year old car.

I love it. It’s totally irrational. Please bring me down.

can you just spend $10 on a garage floor protection pan, and ignore the seeping? No way I would want to get involved with that right off the top. Plus easy to get sucked into the whole "while it is apart and you are in there" deal which can really run up the tab.

well, sure. Just be skeptical about the $2k. that probably assumes all the components are fine, and just need gaskets, etc. But once you pull everything off, I bet you find poor condition stuff that makes more sense to just replace instead.

would probably help if you could DIY it like QB. Probably relatively low $ for all the gaskets and seals, and a ton of labor time to put them on!

the WRX plan is not a bad idea. If you really want one. I was bummed when I tried it out. Really did not like it much at all, and don't think I would have been happy with it.

my big fail was not leasing the Civic Si in 2015. Incredible cheap payment, and from what I have seen them listed for, a super clean one with barely 20K on the clock would have been a fantastic deal at the residual buyout. Which I would have been exercising.

can even get a hatch if you prefer. Though the sedan should have plenty of room for the car seat.

I like those legacies. Fun. And such old school tech. Not even blue tooth, hard to get used to that!

Lots of miles on this one. At least the head gaskets are not as old, since for some reason, that car had a new engine installed at 25k.

I did have a C30. And it was before the CC - great memory! I miss that car but the hatch was totally worthless. And I would strongly prefer 4 doors if I'm buying one car.

The Viggen reminded me a lot of the C30 actually, with the benefit of 4 doors and a massive hatch.

Fun looking integra. Same generation as the one I briefly owned. I think it was an LS? Not the hot rod. But for n to drive and fairly quick. Mine had 175k on it. Biggest problem was I really didn’t fit. Short on headroom. So if you are taller, or wider, make sure to test fit one first!
