So I reached out yesterday to a broker's Infiniti dealer contact. The offer was not nearly as good as I thought it would be based on deals I have seen posted.

    2019 Q50 MSRP $44,395
39mo 15k miles per year $348 per month w/ 1st mo, reg, taxes, bank fee due at signing.

Seems like a good deal to me for a $44 k car.....
I was thinking the same thing. Less than the 1% rule.
The 1% rule doesn't apply to @qbrozen. He's a 0.75% OR LESS rule kind of guy ;) He's also incredibly informed, persistent, & willing to walk away and start over if his parameters aren't met.

Well, fir a premium priced luxury brand, no navigation, no decent connectivity, blind spot, etc is pretty bare. Probably not even XM. So stripped compared to the class it competes in.

Sort of a high-class stripper then. Probably has a heart of gold too. ;)

It is nuts that some features are extra on a premium brand.   On 20k cars you have BLIS but on 40k+ luxury cars it’s absent.

I couldn’t believe the TLX V6 I rode in the other day didn’t have it.

Base cars still don’t. At least 4 bangers, but I thought V6 also. Need tech package for that

Of all the safety nannies the TLX has I only really want the adaptive cruise, back up cam and parking sensors. I'm perfectly fine without the others.

I just want camera, BLIS/crosspath. And that’s enough. I guess front parking sensors would be fine too.

Compared to a base 320i the TLX base is lavishly equipped. The starting prices are fairly close—$33k for the TLX and $35k for the 320i. But once you add to the 320i things that are standard on the TLX, like heated power seats, adaptive cruise control, moonroof, Carplay/AA, etc., etc. the 320i has an msrp of about $40k. One of the few things the base TLX doesn't have is blis, which is a useful feature, but for a car with good visibility like the TLX (or the 320i) not essential imho. Where blis is really useful is for SUVs, which typically have small rear windows and thick rear roof pillars.

Black interiors are just as hard if not harder to keep clean, since every speck of dust, lint, pet hair, etc stands out. I have never had a problem with keeping light interiors clean. However, I never worked as a chimney sweep or as a coal miner, so YMMV.

Yeah. And that's just the Sport model with the auto trans. Just a $24k msrp, and without negotiation they've already marked it down to $22. Beautiful looking and functional car for that price. The turbo would be nice, but the standard engine is probably good enough.

I'm warming up to the eccentric placement of the volume knob in the middle of the center console. It's different, anyway!

Hard to decide what to get when you can’t narrow down what you really want. I should get a job at a used car lot where I can take something different home on a regular basis.

I'm guessing we all like cars around here enough that we can be open to a lot of different possibilities. It can make narrowing down a choice pretty hard, and sticking with one even harder. Once in a blue moon, though, you drive something and immediately think "oh yeah, game over. Sign me up." You just know it. Those are rare, but fun...

UGH!! Well, that was a massive waste of time! The website is wrong and the X2 we worked a deal on does NOT have a moonroof. I didn't even realize until we were test driving it. Went back and she messed around with her inventory to see if anything would work, but of course nothing would. Talked wife into testing a 320xi, but she ruled it out for sitting too low (lower than the S60, which I agreed with). Back yet again to the drawing board!

BUT, at least I got some interesting news from it. She informed me there is a secret conquest rebate of $1k on certain models, and the X2 and X1 are on that list. Hmmmm...

And yes, @qbrozen - except it isn't that secret; the $1000 lease loyalty/conquest is in the fine print on the BMW offers site. Looks like $3250 lease credit and $1000 lease conquest is available on X2. Maybe they're willing to do something on a new one?

I like cars a lot and love learning about them and driving them. But there are actually not that many I want to own. For example, now that the Volt is being discontinued, what do I want to replace it with when the lease is up in a year? I really can’t think of anything comparable that I would like as much.

I’m going to be all over the board come next September.  Lease is up November 7th, 2019

Giving myself two months for a killer lease deal on something!  My wife and I work in the same building and commute together most days so if I don’t find what I want by then it’s no big deal.

If if I have to we always have my Mom’s car at the house.  That actually reminds me, hers is due back either Dec 2019 or Jan 2020.  I get to buy two cars, but only pay for one!

Supposed to be $3750 plus $1k. Could be different on west coast? I couldn't find anything online about conquest. But she said OL is not stackable with conquest.

The incentive is regional - $3750 in some places, $3250 in others. We have to look it up by ZIP code to know which is in play where.
