I think I will call them and unless they offer a really cheap plan will let it go, cancel the account, and ask for a refund. Then just set up streaming under the trial account (new number) created for the new car. Definitely keeping that for the wife, and traveling.

Question for you tech savvy posters out there. We have Alexia (plural of Alexa) in our house. I pay for the Amazon music every month to go with it. Can I download songs onto my phone with the amazon music app so I don't have to pay for apple music?

I know you can do it from the screen, can't remember if the steering wheel controls work.

The truck doesn't have AA or CarPlay so I don't think I would be able to switch channels other than through the phone.

The truck doesn't have AA or CarPlay so I don't think I would be able to switch channels other than through the phone.

What about the Toyota Entune app?

Depends on cell network availability. In more remote areas of the country, you won't get streaming service to work, but the satellite-based XM will keep on trucking. Same goes for Canada, etc.

well, suburban Philly and the NE I95 corridor is pretty much the opposite of a remote area, so not a big issue!

can be like the 70's, travelling through the boonies of central NYS with just an AM radio. Mostly listening to farm reports!

if I do "cut the satellite", I will need to load up a bunch of music to my iTunes and hope that works.

Where were your favorite off-road excursion spots in CA? I would have liked to test the Alltrack even more when we had it, but I'm an off-road noob.

There’s Pandora and others like it that work well. Not too many commercials yet, or spend and get commercial free.

Hungry Valley by Gorman off I-5 was where we went. We'd often go the back way, up CA 33 to Lockwood Valley, then cut across.

About a month ago the liquor control board did a limited release of hard to find bourbons, including Pappy. The email came out at 1PM and by the time I got home at 5PM they were sold out

The Ioniq may indeed get kicked to the curb. The day before coming out to a dead car, I had received a warning message on the dash about the battery saver mode having kicked in while parked. I thought nothing of it at the time. After reading more, I understand it means the battery never should have died, because the main battery would have kept it charged. Anyway, went to drive it today for the first time in a couple of days and that message was once again on. Now I'm afraid I'll turn it off somewhere away from home and it won't start again.

It got old. But, never stopped us from going through with a trade.

This one's a no-brainer. I assume with the extra over the pre-tax buyout you'll come out okay, if not a bit ahead, after paying the tax on the buyout?

You gave it a good go on the Ioniq without losing anything. We could all be so lucky.

Well, to trade it in to Carvana, you have to own it, right? Which means buying out the lease, which includes paying the tax on the buyout.

if you buy it first, yes. I never actually submitted to try and sell them a lease (just cars I owned or had financed) since I was always upside down (big time on the TLX). So I am not sure how they do it, but I thought Carvana was actually buying out the lease and would not be paying tax on it. But as always, what the heck do I know?

No, Carvana buys the car from the leasing bank. The lessee never takes title.

You should see if it actually works - my understanding is that to get a true dealer payoff quote from HMF, you have to do a three-way call with the dealer, Carvana/Vroom/carmax, and yourself before they will release that information. I've also seen anecdotal information that HMF has a different price for dealers to buy out that may be different from your payoff.

I guess I shouldn’t complain even if I make $1500.

Way back when (2010) I sold the Genesis to Autolenders HMF definitely gave a lower buyout to the dealer. I pocketed around $1300 selling that lease out. If I was to use the number HMF gave me, I would have been upside down

I could see it like an air lock. Drive up, park and leave the keys, have a swat team in hazmat suits come out to disinfect, then when it is all done you can go back near the car.

Why would a small aux battery in an electric car ever need a charge? I guess that’s above their pay grade.

Drove a Tacoma that we sold to a local dealer today. Had just over 24K on the clock and drove very nicely but it's still a truck, though a small one, still felt like a truck! Not sure I'd want one as my d d to be honest.The versatility is there and it did drive nicely on the turnpike but...again, it's still a truck!

might be small compared to an F150, but it is not really small compared to other cars. 212" long, which is a full foot longer than the Odyssey we had. And actually .3" longer than a Ford Crown Vic.

at least it is not as wide as a 1/2 ton beast!

Jmonroe, why are you parking on the left side and the wife not on the right? We're the opposite of y'all at our house and I've scraped the right mirror on every vehicle I've owned in over the 32 years we've lived here. The only broken mirror was with the Golf in 2017 after Hurricane Irma came through. And really the wife's fault as she was guiding me out of the garage but neglected to see that I was at an angle and not backing out straight. It damaged the mirror like 75% and the VW tech completed the other 25% while trying to help. He disappeared very quickly after he saw what he had done and everyone involved played dumb after that. Cost me $728 and change to correct, a new mirror painted in the Blue Silk color to match the vehicle.
We have the a/c air handler in front of my side and the wife decided on day 1 that she wanted the driver side of her vehicle to be on the left side facing in. It was never up for discussion as she drove the bigger vehicle then when the kids were all small. She'd only drive a mid-sized sedan, no minivan for her, so that was that. The right side lack of space is the reason why I must drive a small vehicle but that's my preferred size vehicle anyways. I'm just super careful since the whack!
